  1. I like the idea of Gipsy Wagon but with a big constraint on the slopes and the road type it can go through. I'll like the same mobile housing system with boats. The sawmill would be a great idea. No real automation : you have to constantly put stuffs in it to get the product (oil, wheat...). Still time consuming.
  2. This is a great idea. If gathering alts is the main argument, let's gather them on cluster 1.
  3. Ok perhaps this approach is too negative. I get it. I think the thread title is misleading. Skill decay is not my crusade. Only a possible solution for specialization. Here is another proposal (I like game mechanisms), more positive. What about a specialization feature? When you decide to specialize yourself, skill gain become faster or grow higher in this skill (and/or skill subset). There would be a drawback : skill loss somewhere (to be defined), just slow skill gain or lower max skill cap. For all skills or "opposite skills" (to be defined). We can imagine a mastery system, same as the religious conversion but with jobs. I really enjoy the vision of a far isolated village carpenter coming to the capital or to an hermit shed to seek a specialization. Advantages : does not impact at all the jack of all trade currently living in Wurm, nor the current skill mechanic. Default : I trust you to list them all :-D
  4. Please CAs, close this thread before I become rude too. There is no debate possible here. Thank you.
  5. A time will come when the skill level difference between Release/Pristine and the main cluster will be very small. But we are far from that.
  6. What I was thinking about is a kind of system allowing to highly specialize if you want, but not everywhere. Wurm is a social game, some are so skilled they can play alone. For example, all the skills but one (the highest) above 90 decays. All the skills but 3 above 80. All but 5 above 70 and so on. Everybody could still do anything they want. But you must choose where you want to be the best.
  7. I didn't see any opportunity to join clusters as the current skills mechanism makes the older players the higher skilled. And these kinds of players didn't need anyone to do anything. If skills are managed differently, it would not be a problem. For example, not used skills should decrease...
  8. Never said this skill would be new requirements but I find it quite unrealistic that a 30y carrier long miner can sail on a frigate like a 30y carrier long sailor. If I'm sailing all day for transport, taxi, fishing, I won't be able to mine, build houses or fight like others. But the others can sail like me.
  9. Buoy

The risk of buoy spam have to be taken into account. I didn't see that (because I definitely don't play this kind of "fun").
  10. I'll go for Fang Point Lake. The heart shaped is not obvious :-D
  11. I think the village of Troll's Vanguard would be interested in this canal on NW. We are nearly 10-12 villagers and I am sure the mayor would accept to send 2 or 3 for such a project.
  12. We became today citizens of Trolls Vantage, South of Sloping Sands. Thanks to Ragrak to have taken care of us and take time to drive us through the scorpions in the toundra. And thanks to the villagers who welcome us with kindness and generosity.
  13. I really think this was not intentionnal. This is not a problem. However, I tried to negociate with the owner to compensate all my newbie work on my tiny shed, asking for some nails or a good tool in exchange of my writ. All I managed to get was a cotton. It was quite rude but that's also Wurm.
  14. Some another point of interest : - we are french but quite fluent in written English. - I am thinking about going premium as the game is a fabulous alternate reality experience. - My best friend is coming to the game too.
  15. Hi, I've just been expropriated from my 1x1 shed because of deed mechanism. I could have started it, finished a door and almost finished a window. The day after, unable to add a single plank because I was in a new village which does not allow me to modify buildings. I think I misunderstood the deed mechanism. So what the difference between a building, a deed, a settlement and a village?
