  1. Try submitting a ticket in-game for staff help reuniting your ship and maybe your corpse. Really bad luck with that shark death. When you find yourself trapped out at sea like that, sometimes you can ask in Freedom channel for someone with a boat to help by coming to pick you up. Release isn't that big of a server compared to Xanadu.
  2. A couple hours before the event really isn't enough time in advance for many players. One day before seems to work fine, as an idea where it'll be is needed for those whose wish to attend might be dependant on how far away it is for their schedules.
  3. Great cheers for the winners and those in the top three for each category! Among the submissions, there were some really nice views of Wurm Online that I hope new players and those checking the forum and website out get a chance to see. They give a quick view of what Wurm Online is capable of offering for real, that they can have a chance of participating in themselves, not just AI-generated views that might lead to disappointment.
  4. Not sure if it's the case that happened here, but when there's a transfer of ownership of a cart/vehicle/building, all the permissions formerly present are lost except for the new owner getting ownership. Perhaps there was a typo or missclick when you were removing the single character's permission from that large cart?
  5. Just a reminder, this isn't the forum thread to post your submissions. This is: Website Screenshot Contest 2023 Submission Thread .
  6. Yes, this is a known problem with many recipes. The way to get around it is to not have anything activated when you click Lore on the cooking container. Also, even if it says 'You cannot mix these', go ahead and cook it and it'll work. That 'You cannot mix these' in Lore is simply wrong. Not sure when this problem started, but it's been there a few months so far. A shortcut to make sure you don't have any activated tool/item is to activate something and drop it from your inventory (or move it to somewhere outside your inventory). When the activated object is no longer in your inventory, your activation will be blank. ADDED: Here's the link to my post in Server Bugs about it, August 2023: Lore Bug with Salads
  7. This is the first time I've ever seen a project doing this completed (and I've played a very long time). Cheers for making history!
  8. One thought might be that they'd want to condense information in the database. Foraging and Botanizing has each tile set so for each of those, it has to record the last time someone used that command on the tile so it can calculate when to open it back up for a new botanize/forage success. That's why you can't just keep foraging and botanizing on the same tile, you'll get no harvests after the first success as it takes at least a day (maybe more?) till you have a chance of succeeding again. I believe the same goes for archaeology. Consider the total number of tiles in the whole game, each server needing to have database space set to keep that information for each tile. Probably only a few bytes of info on each tile, but it still adds up. Regarding foraging or botanizing giving a rare chance of finding a coin (kingdom coin redistribution), it's my personal hope that they don't eliminate it. But I don't have any info on that, one way or another.
  9. And a relatively moderately skilled or even only recently-settled character's welcome to join in too, at least to show up at the public slaying site in advance to get a feel of it and explore the layout that's been set up for the event and ask questions and meet those arriving there. Unique slayings are alot more safer to attend than a Rift as typically the dragon/drake/creature is walled up in a cave with a fenced area around where the entrance will be opened to keep it contained. The usual procedure I've encountered is at the designated time the creature will be released and the fenced gates unlocked so players can rush their characters in all at once to fight the foe. Just a single target, normally, not respawning hordes like a Rift would have. A smaller fenced 'safe' area for priests is generally nearby, which could contain the altars, etc, for them to use. Characters rushing in, therefore, typically have priest spell support for healing, humid drizzle for curing diseases, etc, from afar. Be alert for the organizer's announcements for details such as how long before the release, whether horses, carts, etc are permitted inside and things like that. Some organizers don't publically post the map showing the exact location of the creature and event until hours in advance. Others might give a day or two advance notice of where the players need to go.
  10. Buildings can't touch seperate buildings, so there'd at least have to be fences or gates between your 'building' sections.
  11. For more localised help (as that question can have alternate best answers depending on which cluster or server you're on), which server are you settled on? There might be other players that are near you with particular needs for resources/crafts that could be able to reach out to you if they have materials they're in need of. BTW, many players seek amounts of clay, and Digging skill is best for gathering that.
  12. All those who hold public slaying events like this deserve many thanks!
  13. When you use the catseye highway to plot a course to a deed, the *waypoints* pointer signs turn to a brighter color to show you where to go, not the highway catseyes themselves. I think that's what you were thinking of, MrCak.
  14. I'm in favor of a merge of NFI and SFI. The concerns about prices would be mitigated by the fact that you'd have twice as many customers available to purchase goods from sellers. It'd also add in some excitement for players that never chose to create an alt in the other cluster, so they'd be able to travel and explore the previously cut-off cluster with their character and form their own opinions about the servers they'd never had a chance to see before and meet and interact with characters on that cluster previously forbidden to them. Brand new players wouldn't have to be concerned with chosing the 'wrong' cluster with their first character as they'd relatively easily be able to build themselves a canoe and venture over to the cluster different than the one they'd started on and choose which side they'd like to settle on. Anything that sparks more interest in participating in Wurm Online has to be a good thing.
  15. Think of it as genetics. You can have a recessive gene without manifesting the qualities in your own person. But there's a chance it can then pass on to your offspring to be active there. A male bison with the It Gives More Resources trait would be great to breed with a female bison with the It Gives More Resources trait. Their offspring would have a higher chance of having that same trait, and for the female children that would mean more bison milk produced each time they're milked.
  16. Anacondas have always been aggressive on the Freedom Isles. I can't recall a time that they weren't. I've no idea about the Wellspring behaviour, though.
  17. Please close this thread, no chickens remain at my deed.
  18. My recommendation would be to retain requiring a match to divinity in constructing colossi. In the interest of allowing a greater number of players to participate, let them have colossi of the faith of their character remaining unstarted so you're not just being overwhelmed by characters and alts of just one faith in a horde completing every single colossus. Instead, make it an advantage of invite/call in more characters who worship the deity of colossi yet unbuilt instead of a smaller group being able to build every possible colossus of deities they don't worship.
  19. Enki ran a horse race event within the past three or four years where characters were temporarily transported to Golden Valley and raced untraited horses there, with saddles and horseshoes/gear provided. The path was marked with signs, and as it was Golden Valley no participants had a chance to scout the route in advance to gain an advantage. The characters were teleported back to where they came from at the end after the finish of the event, the horses were left to roam Golden Valley on their own. Enki always does fun events!
  20. This is reproduceable. When have the ingrediants to make a salad in a wooden plate, hand activated, and click 'lore', it states However, clicking 'create -> salad (44%)' with hand activated most definitely does create a salad. Repeated for identical results. At the suggestion of another staffer, tried 'lore' with absolutely nothing activated and it gives the correct response. [18:45:56] The ingredients in the plate could make a salad. [18:45:56] Current difficulty:24. 'Create', as before, correctly creates a salad. So the error in Lore when having correct salad ingrediants within a wooden plate appears to be related to having anything activated at the time ('hand' is used in crafting the salad, so that's what I naturally had activated when I first tried 'lore'). This creates a very bad hardship for newer players attempting to create a salad for the first time or having herbs/veggies in a plate wondering what they can fix with them. Not sure if this applies to all possible ingrediants in a salad, but for reproduceability what I had within the oakwood plate was: chopped pumpkin, chopped lettuce, chopped cabbage, and chopped tomato. Also note that I was using a non-premium character at the time, with Cooking 20, if that makes a difference.
  21. Thank you everyone for your information. I'd like to withdraw this Bug Report seeing as it's simply a feature coded and any change would be a Suggestion instead.
  22. Note that the wiki says Could it please be verified if this is the way it's been all along and designed to be, and I'd simply not noticed before today? Sorry for the waste of time reporting it here if so.
  23. This is repeatable, and I've recieved word that I'm not the only player noticing this happening. Not sure when it started, but from my recollection it's very likely to've been within the past two months. I only noticed it today, but I'd not been branding enough to notice since the start of June 2023 until now. Whereas before taking a glowing (dimly) branding iron, activated, and using it to brand an animal would brand the animal and then add a bit of useage dmg on the branding iron, currently the branding iron is suffering an immediate 0.10 QL drop instead, and taking no useage dmg. The same thing happens when using the glowing hot iron branding iron to 'unbrand' an animal. No damage taken, but quality is immediately lowered by 0.10 on the tool. This is reproduceable, as seen by me using a normal glowing dimly iron branding iron on at least 4 different animals, young horses mainly but also young cow and sheep. The QL loss is always and consistantly 0.10 QL. What's expected is, instead, the active tool should take a bit of useage damage with no change in quality (except for when later the tool is repaired to remove the dmg).
  24. Why not just call it a goblin camp? And have a few goblins around to at least offer newer players a chance to enjoy fighting them (not a whole army of goblins with champions, just a handful). The 'loot' would be exactly that, to represent what the goblins in the Wurm-world might have looted from human villages and corpses (off-screen).
