  1. Same, always stuck to Vyn, Fo and Mag as my alt Priests.
  2. More or less, it was said that they will run both - WO and WO Steam and neither will be shut down for the one or other, as both are the same codebase and thats easy for them to maintain. They said if a patch happens for WO then it will also happen for WO Steam at the same time. And in case WO Steam fails they will somehow merge those into current WO, but as that has yet to be seen they probably not wasting time on brooding over a possibility that may not even become reality. Now as for if WO Steam is a success - what we only can hope for tbh - then WO will still go on from what I understood, it could even have a influx of players who want to give the RMT world a try. Also open for them to decide on is if we can even multibox on WO Steam in one way or another, that is also an incentive for some people who prefer that playstyle to remain on current WO Servers. There is way to many unknown variables right now to draw a conclusion, we can only wait and see what happens. I can't denie that with the news that hit last year I lost my drive to play, usually Wurm is my "Winter Game", but I hardly loged on or did anything noteworthy, simply because I am waiting for things to become more clear to make a final decision where my home will be in the end. But anything else is just panicing for no reason right now my friend, just join the lot who sits back, waits and observes - it's not easy I know. πŸ˜•
  3. Also it is not so easy to merge them as the RMT issue stands in the room. If the current WO servers remain to allow RMT, then they can't merge them with the Steam ones. The entire Steam Server thing is just their means / hope / idea to get more people on board to play Wurm, if those people remain on the Steam Servers or eventually go to the current WO ones where RMT is allowed is also a thing to consider. But eventually they said they would only consider to merge them if the Steam "experiment" fails, I assume the conditions here being not enough players who play there and so on. (and THEN they still have to think over the RMT issue) It is an attempt to get more people to play the game, merging servers is like admitting that this attempt failed and Wurm will fall back to where it is stuck at now - just with more empty land than it already has now. This is not meant to be a new landrush for existing players - sure they can take part in it, but the prime goal here is to have the game on Steam and see how well it does there and how many people it can attract and eventually keep playing.
  4. As I said myself, in simpler terms "they don't have the time/resources" for this cause there is a lot of other critical stuff that needs to be done. I never played on WU so I wasn't sure how exactly this works but thanks for the information. Guess my point still stands, wait for some official news. πŸ˜•
  5. EverQuest had the same issue when people shouted for a "no multibox server", they introduced "Truebox Servers" which only allows one connection per physical PC. They are able to detect VMs as well, people tried to trick them or hide the fact they were playing on a VM but nope, people ended up banned anyhow. There is ways to make multiboxing a hassle, it would not be impossible... but you would be under the permanent fear of being banned if someone figured it out, how much fun is that then? Generally speaking, whatever they could do would make multiboxing a hassle more than it is worth to bother with. However, the effort and time the staff would have to put into keeping such a multibox ban up would - imho - be better placed into other game features. On the other hand, I can't see them specially changing the login process and / or how Steam handles the client so it can be ran multiple times for the same reason. My best guess is they wont specially put a ban on it, but they wont make it easy for people to multibox either. So you either need a VM / more machines to run multiple accounts or pull that WU trick if it would even work that way - given you still have multiple Steam accounts to pay premium time on and your ingame char will be bound to. As said, can only wait for some official news on the topic and then go from there.
  6. It is necessary to have fun playing the game though and for a bunch of people multiboxing is part of the experience for a few reasons which increases their fun. (tbh, I just wanted to use the word necessary too ) I have to admit though, I have a hard time to think about how WO Steam would fare with a single character per person "enforcement". To many "IFs", even looking at current WO - there are not many main priests (I only know one) and even when it had a larger population the majority of priests was alts from what I saw. (correct me if I am wrong) But if the option to have a alt priest was gone... mhh... would be an interesting experiment I guess, but I am not sure it would be a good idea to turn the Steam version (whichs obvious aim is to keep the game alife and going) into a experiment. πŸ€” Looking forward to an official word on this when it happens.
  7. No offense, but the future of the game should entail having more players... yet we see decisions being made that drive people away. (Ok, I admit I saw one or two people actually wanting to return... but the negative feedback I noticed overwhelmed the positive regarding the recent news.) I was not affected by the priest issue, but it is again one of these things that is sprung upon people and bam... eat or die, cope with it or quit the game - even if not affected, living in constant fear of such happenings is something people consider as well. It's one of these things where I would like to know the thought process behind it, like... did anyone of the decision makers even flinch when it was put on the table to be decided upon? Did anyone not foresee the pile of... it would produce? If anyone did predict the outcome of these news (tbh - taking away things never flew well here), then plans to keep the mess contained should have been made. Sure, you are collecting suggestions to improve the remaining priests and spell lists and fix peoples concerns now after the outcry, but imho this should have been in place and been in the news already, not after the fact - and that is just a bandaid for affected people too. I play enough games to know that it is not common to even get such kind of information ahead of time and Wurm is one of the few that does it and I am certain there is a good lot of people who appreciate that. (I do) Then again, I have no single recollection of any other MMO making such drastic changes to eradicate peoples money, effort and time (the most valuable of the three imho) put towards a certain goal in such a massive fashion, but thats maybe within the nature of the game... As someone else said, in the end people will only have one option left... to vote with the wallet / not further spending their limited life time here - and it pains me to type that tbh. I and I guess plenty of others know and see that you are trying your best, I honestly don't envy you for your job - you don't make the calls and in other areas have very little say as you say yourself on Streams, yet you get all the crap flung at you... sometimes I wonder if you are M. πŸ€” I hope for everyone that is concerned the future holds more positive things for you to share with us. And I hope I am still around then and be able to play on Steam, but guess we have to wait that one out. πŸ˜”
  8. I know, I have been following threads of my interest and this all ties into it, thanks for pointing it out again and thus linking it up with this thread. But if we don't voice our concerns now when the threat rears its head, we may just as well be steamrolled (ha!) by more dev decisions that will further shrink the population or people even interested to roll on the Steam server(s). Staff needs to know what people think to avoid more messes like the upcoming Priest change, if they still make "bad" (point of view thing) decisions... well, at least now I won't have to blame myself for not speaking up when the time was there for it to do so.
  9. I have to agree with Wargasm and what the others said here, if we can multibox or not is a major "play or don't play there" checkbox for me. I planed to run the usual 1 Main + 3 Priests setup and have people from my gaming community join, but they are complete Wurm newbies and no one of them wants to play a Priest with the restrictions they have in place, so it falls upon me to run those and I don't mind either as I am used to it. If we can not Multibox there then I won't play there, simple as that... and not sure anyone of my friends bothers then either. Guess I will be saving a lot of money to spend elsewhere then. This kinda ruins the day, I was really looking forward to the new servers and now it is all up in the air within a huge cloud of uncertainty and I don't like that at all. Also, I can't see someone "maining" (well not like there is a option for alts eh? ha.) a Priest, unless they can do everything a non-Priest can do too but thats not going to happen either... So guess the Steam Servers will have very little magic unless people fiddle around with multiple Steam accounts and then the question remains if the Staff will enforce a "no multiboxing" rule I guess. Reading the forums in the past days has become a ratrher depressing thing to do.
  10. Just a heads up, we don't know anything yet about how exactly they are going to realize Wurm Online on Steam. We don't even know if we will be able to have alts, considering how people had to use workarounds to play multiple chars even on WU. But with WO on Steam, how would that even work as your Steam ID is probably linked to the paid sub... (and thus WO Steam without a Steam Account is most likely not possible either, but it depends on how they will implement the whole thing) Unless they introduce a new account management system of sorts I don't see that happen easily, people would have to make multiple steam accounts and so on and forth if they wanted to play multiple chars on WO Steam then. And tbh I don't know if you could run them all from one PC or would need multiple laptops then due the Steam ID thing and I don't think you can run Steam twice on a PC, unless we can sub with a steam account and then use the WU work around to apply other IDs to the WO Steam client to login with... Just me guessing around, I don't think the devs have a clear idea yet either how this part will be handeled or if they will even flat out refuse alts on Steam considering all the hassle it would be to make it work. Then as Oblivion said, there will be no real market domination as there wont be any RMT, the vets who only played Wurm for the RMT wont be on Steam. Ofc you can say they may use shady means to RMT anyhow, but I am certain that will be discovered by staff sooner or later and then consider how much work it can take to make a char and have it banned just for that... not worth the time or money invested in the end with that permanent risk. I think for now all we can do is wait and see how they plan to implement it and as soon as they share their ideas we could give feedback on that then, but wrecking our heads over it right now won't gain us anything.
  11. Now I am kind of curious how many will quit the idea upon reading some of the forum threads here... But yea, I hope some stick around or at least give it a shot when the Steam thing is ready, anything is ok with me as long as it is pro-Wurm.
  12. I was vote #4 on this when I saw it before the post here, that escalated quickly. Well done everyone and rightly so, Wurm deserves this one clearly.
  13. I don't know a single "good" MMO that is free to play where the free to play extends to more than we have in Wurm, basically a "have a sniff and pay if you like it", they all have limits that make it pretty much pointless to play free. Then again "good" may be in the eye of the beholder, but I don't think it takes many words to see a quality difference. I won't denie that there is maybe one or two unicorns out there that are good and free to play without any restrictions, but thats not the majority I believe. I have no idea what Wurm could change, but making it cheaper is a one way adventure - what if it doesn't bring back more people to make up for the loss? It is easy for us to say "they have to do this or the game dies!", it's a whole different story for the person who makes the call. It takes way more changes to make a difference I fear and I don't see the sub price as being THE game changer, right now it would only cater towards people running a ton of toons to make a RL "profit". Imho for the sake of the argument they could just introduce a regular MMO Account System then instead of making the sub cheaper. You pay one Account and can make X number of characters on said account, but you can not log them in at the same time. However, I am sure then we have people screaming that it is still impossible to play cause they can't soul call their other char or tend to the fields the same time their other char hogs the forge, reasons to complain will be found. The most obvious thing that comes to mind - if they introduced such a Account System, people would probably want to merge some of their chars into one account and while it sounds fine - it also shrink CCs income and is no gurantee for more people to sub to the game to make up for it and somehow I think this would take a lot of dev time to implement properly. The only thing I can agree with what has been said is that there is a steady and obvious decline and if nothing is done it wont change until the counter hits zero, but as said... I have no idea what to change, it will probably be a experiment and I don't envie CC for having to figure out which vials to mix and levers to flick. Or maybe we just have to accept the fact that the game at it's core with the grind is just... to nichΓ© for todays "norms". But if they change core mechanics or things that the loyal players like or worked on for years and suddenly you can get 99 skill in whatever skill in weeks instead of years... I am sure anyone can see were that is going. Kinda sucks to stand on the side and only be able to watch and not having a single meaningful idea to contribute that could be the holy grail.
  14. Sure, it may be "their" problem, but it may as well cause us a player or more less depending how things pan out. If you require people to be less naive (to not install any adblock or w/e plugin that the monthly article on a random tech blog of anyones choice may suggests) and be tech savy to handle their PC to be able to view your website properly, then I don't see things going very far either. You say SEO is one of the most important points, sure- I agree, so now you are #1 for Wurmonline on Google and now what? The less tech savy user comes to the website, sees nothing really quick to grab their attention... it's a hassle to even find a video by the Website (because the non tech savy user installed some adblocker because thats what everyone does these days) and now whos problem is it, the person who just goes on with their life without even trying Wurm or ours cause we lost a potential new player which we bleed for as is... Maybe if you are lucky one bothers enough to actually take to the forums or discord to point this out, but personally I would not bother, if to be as a "non tech savy user" if I was to be one something was not visible, I would not even remotely suspect anything to be there in the first place. I expect an adblocker to remove Ads, not simple links. You could now go further and make the argument "if they didn't go that far, they are probably not fit to play Wurm anyhow!" and that may be true... but how many hurdles do you want people to overcome to play a game. Just saying, by saying the problem is on "their" side you don't solve anything, it's just the easy way out. I understood Retros words more as honoring peoples decision to not to want to see such content, whatever the reason may be and thats fine. But if you take the discussion to the other side of the spectrum, then I just see it as an lazy excuse.
  15. The thing is, does CC want their Website to appear properly as designed to every possible visitor or do they prefer to honor if someone is blocking a.... form of advertising? I am not sure if I would call a link to Youtube or whatever advertising, the whole site is an advertisement for the game so... Then again (at least here in germany) we have people who glue shields above their houses mailboxes that any kind of advertisement is unwanted in their box, which is kinda like an adblocker.... though most delivery kids don't care. There is a point to value someones decision to run a adblocker and to honor it, then again more than half the internet has non-tech-savy users that just install one but most likely do not realize what it actually blocks - specially if the default already filters content and then are surprised why websites don't have a youtube or whatever link. (I use uBlock Origin and have zero issues and I am lazy and did not fiddle much with it's config.) I am not sure if the adblocker people use in their tests would also block a written link instead of a image? Otherwise you could just create a nice footer at the very bottom, most company sites have that, kind of a quick link thing for the things people look for the most. But if CC has the position of "people block Youtube for a reason and we honor it" then yea, end of the discussion right there pretty much no matter why otherwise important links for the game are invisible or how easy it would be to fix. It all boils down to how much free "advertisement" and exposure CC wants Wurm to have. (It's not like a link to Youtube is like you forcing down content the users throat, in the end they would have still to click it... I can't believe someone would be offended by seeing a Youtube link and be like "o m g they use Youtube I so gona not play this".) Personally when I check out a potentially new game watching a good video about it is a lot easier than having to create an account and so on just to be able to login and then again we know how long it takes until you see anything advanced or what is possible in Wurm further down the road... I would think videos are an essential marketing element for a game like Wurm. πŸ˜• But as said, it is the decision of the people who run the game. All we can do is offer input on how to improve what is there, but if it is actually taken and being worked on is CCs decision. Thanks for doing what is within the boundaries of possibility for you @Retrograde.
  16. I had a look, yes sure they are on there but you have to scroll down on the mainpage to find it, it's not exactly intuitive. From the Menu band offered at the top I would look for any Video or Media related links in such categories, but "Media" only has pretty screenshots, no further mention of YouTube or other things. "Game Info" could be a possible point for them as well, but when you check it, it's obvious that it's meant for ingame ressources, maybe get it in line with the Link Thread you started so it's a bit coherent or just add a link to the menu that sends people to the forum page which is maybe easier for you to maintain? But as for the location of the "Social" stuff which is also a lot of media, usually you have a own area for it if it is a lot you have to share or the links are at the very bottom of the page in a footer that basically every Site of your web presence has then or in a "Media" section. Further Scrolling down leads again to a bunch of screenshots, so you have some there and then a whole "Media" point that has only Screenshots.... seems a bit odd to have it at two locations. I would recommend revamping the "Media" section by adding everything "Media" related like YT, Twitch, etc. and cutting off the Main Page after the Features with " …and much, much more! " - the excerpt of the latest News topics seems ok there too, considering the "News" section from the top menu band leads to a more details News archive. Unless this is all some odd stunt for SEO.
  17. Though thats not exactly what I was asking, I am curious why WO on Steam would equal more "exposure" for WO when we already have WU, which pretty much should lead anyone to WO in a short or long run if they would remotely care for it. I just have a hard time to believe that there is so many WU players that don't know about WO given the circumstances that it would make such a huge difference. Also I would find it odd if WO Steam in any way could "advertise" for the other WO, given it would steer people away from WO Steam (not sure if Steam would be happy with that?), though that may happen on it's own just by people chating but yea... The only meaningful thing that sprang to my mind is that -maybe- WO Steam will be listed as a "new" game release again... but will it land on the frontpage in the game slider or just drown in the load of RPG Maker and odd Hentai Anime games in the "New Games" tab '(or w/e it is called in the english steam, I run the german one)? Personally I ignore that tab and check the "Topseller" one, if I am remotely interested in anything possible new anyhow - but getting listed there is probably not that easy. I don't know if there is any realiable statistics out there about what people install on a new PC first or in what order, but for me anything gaming comes last as it is usually the biggest time sink of the whole process... unless you just move a drive. But thats not really the point of the discussion either, it's without question that there is a lot of people using Steam - no matter in what order they install it. I am curious how many people seriously miss out on WO because they only find WU on Steam and then go like "nah" but would maybe have said "yah" if it had been WO. Guess that is to be seen when it happens then...
  18. Excuse me if I may have missed the answer somewhere else, but what makes you think this will give the game more exposure? WU is already on Steam, considering WO and WU use the same Discord for people to gather and how the internet works, anyone who plays WU should know WO exists, so you pretty much have had all the "Steam exposure" you could get by now I "think" ...? Or is it just the cheapest possible way of "mass" advertisement? Unless you count on being listed as a "new" game again and hitting the front page for a day or two... but other than that I have a really hard time to wrap my head around this exposure concept. ._. And don't get me wrong - I'm just curious - I welcome the enthusiasm and possible changes coming. I plan to play on both sides of the WO coin if the Steam Version makes it easy enough, simply because I told a few friends and we want to roll a settlement together (they want a fresh server start though), but that is tied to some things that most likely can't be answered yet.
  19. I think our WO and the new Steam one will essentialy be the same software bar some steam related tweaks to connect it to that Steam side properly? So it should not be as much work to maintain as WU was I "think"? Of course some kind of official statement would be appreciated, they will probably talk more about this once they know it themselfes mh... @Retrogradecould maybe maybe start an FAQ thread where people can write down questions and he sorts it and puts the answers to the questions or if the answer is not certain yet, just a note that its still being discussed/worked on and then edit it later when things become known? I for one am curious if there will be a hassle free way to run multiple chars on the Steam Servers or if I end up hassling with files and stuff like the WU people do now due the ID or just buy 2-3 more laptops and get more Steam accounts. (Hint: the money spent on Hardware could go towards Steam WO if we have an option! πŸ˜› ) If I remember correctly there was something in the works regarding easier handling of accounts and logins or something related to the topic, but I have no idea if that has made any progress or would serve the purpose I would desire. ❀️
  20. I'm not the type that totally wants or needs it, it would be a nice to have for me but just cause... Just recently I streamed some Wurm to friends on a discord channel in anticipation for the WO Steam Server cause someone else and me spoke "to much" of it, so they wanted to see some of it.... first question was "show us your character, go third person mode!" ... "uhm... yea.. I can't, here have a look at my paperdoll... or I need to login a second char and stream that window so you can see it." odd giggles and rumoring ensued. If not for gameplay, people just like to see their own char fully sometimes without requiring some odd UI window thats to small for the task or go as far as make an alt just to have a proper look. They were a curious lot, but yea... nowdays it does seem a bit odd to not have such a "feature" I suppose.
  21. Feels like some people forget that RMT will not be a thing on the Steam Servers. What market is there to dominate or worth to be dominated in whatever way if there is no real gain for those people who so far dominated markets. I assume their biggest motivation to date was to make silver and turn that into RL money. With that reason being gone, money will only go into the game, sure people could dominate the market but the silver would just pile up and pay their deed costs and maybe some subs but then? Unless ofc they sell it by shady means... which risks a ban. I am sure CC would raise an eyebrow if silver (specially larger sums) is transfered without any evidence of a product or service being offered in return. Not saying there wont be people who with the right skillset can "dominate" a market, but that happens all the time in any MMO that starts fresh and is just worse in MMOs where "clean servers" are launched cause people have a vast amount of how-to knowledge by then. (even though in Wurm I would have a hard time to pick a skill or two to master first, maybe Blacksmithing or whatever but there is so many good and required skills to make good stuff!) I don't see it as a big deal with RMT being removed from those servers and new people interested would just get a small glimpse by that then as to how it is on the older WO servers, it is an aspect of the game. And if someone is afraid of new people not getting the same amount of help, I am sure there will be a CA chat where people can ask stuff and I am sure there will be plenty of vets who want this to succeed for the greater good of Wurm and help out a fair bit too (I will anyhow if the chance happens). And if you consider spoiling new people with free armor, weapons or great tools they could not get there until later on "help to make them stay or interested" - why would a new person seriously want that aside from the current way MMOs work? QUICK to the endgame! And then? Quit the game. People, also new ones, should enjoy the time they spend here... if they need high end equipment to do so then they wont last very long to begin with. πŸ˜• Wurmians are a very special kind of people (not in a bad way either, we just have a acquired taste ), I think that was established by now, it will always be a nichΓ© game - I just wish the population was more stable, that steady decline in the graph makes me sad. Maybe burnout, other adventures, who knows... not like Wurm has a "Cancel the Subscription" and then gives the person who cancels the sub a chance to give feedback of why they do. Then again the forums have plenty of posts of why people leave, but gathering that information... well idk if anyone does, but I don't envy that job. I hope Wurm gets it's act together, polishes up in a decent way with the new UI and remains among the living for a long time, my mains sub is still going even if I only play 4-5 Months of a year, simply because Wurm - even with the ton of sandbox games out there - is still a very unique game.
  22. I am not sure, but I think they drop the support because it is a lot of effort to maintain vs how much revenue it yields. The Team is very small and has to focus its efforts to keep the game itself alive, you could argue "they should have known this before!", but if people always go into such scenarios with the worst fears then nothing will happen. But I think if WO sunsets, then WU will just die alongside with it cause then no one remains to maintain it either. I see it as a "either we just shut it all down or we try to keep some part of it alive" attempt and for that the WU part is sacrificed. Is it pretty? No, but they simply lack the ressources to do everything they want I think. Losing devs on a already small Team doesn't help either. Sindusk was a great addition, very sad that it ended up as it did and I am not even into PvP, but he contributed a lot from what we could see. Budda is another huge contributor and was paid too, while his position has been well filled with Samool, the manpower is still minus one, at least I did not see someone new being brought onto the Team. Then ofc loved ones that departed... Some people you can't just replace and hope it works and Wurm as is I think would require very dedicated devs, not just someone that can write Java - paying those people with the small funds that are left is another story. When you hire someone you have responsibilities and when the future is as uncertain as it is now.... it just makes the most sense that what we see happening is happening. Scratch together the remaining ressources, try a reboot of sorts and pray. I just fear the fixes, QoL changes and new UI wont be enough to cut it - if a ton of people join the game on Steam I see nothing that would keep them playing for more than a month or two.
  23. I think I spot a small flaw here, when we talking fresh new servers without vets... who is going to sell that set of higher quality horseshoes? WO Shop Skilling Sets? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personally I never minded the grind, heck I did nothing but 2 months of WS each day to get it to 90+ .... what I did mind and post about before was the lack of a reason to grind combat skills for example, there was never a reason to have it super high, stuff gets easier - sure, but there is never a real challange out there that makes you go "Oh damn if I had Drake Scale with an whatever the most awesome weapon is now" to do this content. There is just no real "need" for anything to be that high to do whatever. Same goes with other skills, some do unlock certain items by their skill... like Wagons or such require whatever high FC it was and so on, but thats limited to very few items compared how many items Wurm has. I just want a goal to look forward to in Wurm and my Deed and how I envision it should not be the only goal. It's easy to give players Tools and be like "create your own adventure!" and while thats fine and cool, the World of Wurm itself is rather bland.... it's just maps that sometimes have a unique mob but otherwise nothing really to "discover" that would make exploring worth it. I know it's not easy to make such dynamic content and they tried in form of Rifts and such but yea.... I am not traveling a day or two to take part in a 1-2h content thing that is just slaying a few waves of mobs. The Jackal thing seemed interesting, but it being split from the "real wurm world" so to say, killed its appeal for me. I want to use my character that I worked on with the gear i grinded for, not start over nakid. I will wait for the Steam Servers and play there, but my hopes are very limited, it may as well be the last time we get to experience something like this before it will sunset. I wish I could be more positive and I have the urge to play right now, but I just see no point in it with new servers coming up.... it's weird, maybe I am weird, I don't know. ._.
  24. Oh well.... the one issue I always had with Wurm was the lack of a reason to grind those skills. Sure, being creative with your deed and doing the one or other travel can be nice, but knowing you wont find anything exciting around the next corner is kind of meh... old deed ruins are the best you can hope for. πŸ˜• Why should I grind fighting? To keep the mean trolls away from my deed? Spirit Templar and Tower guards can do that too, give me a dungeon to actually use all those skills in. The elusive unique that most of the time only goes to super dedicated hunting groups.... good luck trying to appeal to people with a real life and job, sure for those there is XIV and WoW or whatever then you could say... but if you want more people to play Wurm, it needs more than "here... put down a deed, build your house, up to that point its a survival game and from that point on you have a house it turns into a skill grind game". Grinding any skill to unlock whatever or have better food and so on is all good and nice but here I stand and ask myself what for... The core of Wurm used to be PvP and if you take that into consideration then sure, it all makes sense cause PvP takes that dedication but if you want Wurm to succeed in a PvE way, then it needs more content then the occasional rift or unique and the later will again go to dedicated hunting groups who will tell you "put more effort into it!". Simply slaping some "dungeon of sorts" somewhere is ofc not perfect either, people would flock to it, maybe even deed next to it just to be close and so on. For me it is hard to think up any reasonable PvE content, but what currently is in the game has never really appealed to me. One person, forgive me I forgot who, once proposed something like "gather a ton of mats to build some structure and that then spawns a unique of sorts" or something on a raid level, I think it was mentioned by the FF Brothers too .... maybe something like that would be a direction to throw thoughts at, it's nothing static you would deed close by or whatever and it could be anything, a temporary portal to a raid instance or island or whatever really. I have enjoyed my Wurm years greatly, then again I am not an average player either... Wurm is nichΓ© and trying to appeal to more people will be hard with the current content. Wurm is not bad as it is, it just needs more reasons to be played the way it is now... as soon as people fall into the skill grind hole with no real goal beyond that it becomes tedious. For me it is and remains my "Winter Season Game", but with the current news I am not sure I will return this season until those new servers are up. My char has been premed the entire time and still is, regardless if I play or not, I like Wurm.... yet I wish there was more to do, more reason to all this "building your character up" part of the game which takes a huge amount of time. But if you just slap on a new UI and some QoL changes, then sadly I don't see the new servers doing any better than what we have seen in the past - a short spike for the landrush fun (and I can't denie I would be part of that) but then it will slowly wittle down. (Actually I would argue the PvP server may do better on that end, at least it has some reason behind the grind.) Either people catch the grind bug and enjoy the pure skill grind with zero reasoning behind it on PvE or they don't and looking back, not many people did. πŸ˜• (Not to mention a big reason for this to work was the RMT, people paid hefty prices for QL70+ tools on Release when it was not conected and so on - this time around there wont be any RMT, so that may produce a hit downwards as well, at least from the veteran side of view - not even considering the "restart from scratch" part. It may as well gives birth to a entire new sort of market, depending how coins will be acquired and then used again considering RMT is out the window.)
  25. I don't know what I like more, these news or seeing how much fun you have to work on this project. I am really curious how this will continue so yes, please share all the nerdy details you are allowed to share. Guranteed like for those from me every time. Thanks a lot @Keenanand @Buddaand the other devs as well I suppose... and the guy who writes the text. ?
