  1. "Spare a drink? My mouth is bone dry!" I saw something longer about an arrow to the eye as well, still trying to catch it properly hehe
  2. I have a small Boyband of Sigvards, their latest Song "Rattle the Casket" aint to shabby, but sometimes when just cleaning up fragments I would prefer them to shut up yea. Love the "kick" idea as an toggle option, feels a bit mean but funny.
  3. Ordered a bunch of horses, very good and fast service. Easy to pickup with the pickup pens as well and good communication on top, I also learned something on the way. You certainly get a lot of quality here for a more than fair price. ❤️
  4. Not sure whats worse, that covid finally managed to get to me or how people miss the obvious point of the post and pick the narrative they think is the easiest to attack and jump at it. Sure, you can complain and moan about issues and bugs, but... 1. keep it friendly, don't be an ass when you complain about something - after all there is a human on the other side receiving your hate. (put yourself in their shoes and then some are even unpaid and yea) 2. realize that Wurm is a really niché game with a small population with a small dev team that is bound by the same rules we all are. It is what it is, complaining about it wont have the headhonchos jump to your tune, tbf I would be surprised if anyone of them frequents the forums to begin with. Sure, the game is run by a company, sure there is a subscription, does that change any of the phyiscal limits there are? no and if that makes you unhappy, vote with your wallet as they say. It's not like capable devs are growing on trees these days and never wanted anything more than to work on Wurm. At the end of the day it helps no one to be an ass, it only spreads bad vibes and if I was a dev here, oh hell it would certainly not motivate me to fix the issue you just rubbed in my face like a rotten meat pie. Maybe I am just writing here what the one or other dev would have loved to say but refrained from for obvious reasons. And just as a disclaimer, I am super hermit style, I am not friends with anyone on the current dev team. (sorry devs, but you missed nothing) I just jumped on the post to support Polars thought about this issue and no I never spoke to him either. I am just thankful for the work they do, maybe more people would be if they tried to understand the other side instead of just seeing their own. (and yes, I get both sides, sure it can get annoying if you "feel" ignored, but thats more of a communication issue and I think Keenan has upped the game on that part a fair bit since he took over, but communication also takes time and thats the most valuable resource the team has.)
  5. Now, not in a direct reply to you/this but it kinda triggered it because I have seen comments like this in a way uglier fashion plenty of times, so I will just take it as a reason to throw my 2 cents in. The Dev Team changed over many times in whch some things and priorities may have gotten lost or changed around, iirc we had like 4 or 5 POs by now? They are a very small team for the scope this game has, half or more of the team are volunteers sacrificing their free time to fix issues or make new content that they also could spend playing or doing whatever else really. People need to temper their expectations, it's a thing since years and will be a thing until someone wins the lottery, pours millions into the game so more fulltime devs can be hired. (not seeing that happen, but one can dream) You have people who wish (or scream) for very different things, one camp says "meh we need more content or the game will die, only 2 major new things a year if at all is no good" then you have the "omg all these bugs are still in!" crowd and lets not forget the "the new player experience needs a total overhaul, the game can't keep people playing for more than an hour before they quit" folks. I am sure there is more groups of people that want this or that changed, added or fixed but we all have to accept phyiscal limits, the team is not capable of witchcraft. But that aside, Polar is just asking for people to be friendly to the devs and not write a-hole comments or talking down to them because coding is ohh so easy. I am sure anyone who thinks they can do better can learn Java if they are not capable of it already and can apply to become a volunteer dev, give it a whirl and see how easy it is for real. But don't expect tripple-A support from a small team as we have here, imho they do the best they can and I really appreciate that they keep the game going and not just that, keep making content - for niché games like Wurm this is just so rare. The best we can do is check the bug forum, do you find the bug that bugs you posted there, give it a friendly bump, hopefully it gets the devs attention and is put back on the list that maybe has been started many times over with all the team member changes over the years. (I recently did that as I was made aware of the scale pants bug and heck does it annoy me now - but it is by no means a gamekiller so most likely just super low on the priority list, I "think" it could be a small fix, but do I know for sure? nope, so all I can do is ask nicely.) And then... honestly... I do not think that it is our business how the dev teams does what they do, they try their best to cater to the community wishes and it is really hard to please everyone, sometimes you will just have a few angry people. But all that said, I wish people would keep it civil and not resort to angry, snarky or mean comments towards the devs, if you like the game - be nice to them, if you don't like the game and are not capable of civil communication, maybe play something else?
  6. We never spoke much and normally I would not post in a thread like this to begin with... but I appreciated you getting horses at rifts for people who are summoned in and you always came across as a generally helpful guy and community member. (coming from a hermit who is more observing than acting) As others said, sleep over it, don't jump the gun, you have been here for so long. You know the addiction will get the better of you again in the future and then you will be like "ah damn... all those weeks wasted because of a dumb thing that I could have been doing something meaningful in wurm" - specially now with the holidays approaching which are always fun with events and new toys you don't want to miss. (oof now I sound like a marketing person 🙃) Don't punish yourself over something like this, it's not worth it. Don't look back, look forward to the fun you can still have here, I am sure that outweighs one bad event by far.
  7. On the upside, this one has suddenly became a real rarity, can't reproduce it anymore unless the change will be reverted in some way or another. Then again it was already pretty crazy without that change. Congrats Mad. 🥳
  8. Before you guys go balistic on the change, Keenan mentioned ingame that the change was due to there being no boundary set for the skill and it had the potential to crash a server. So I guess it was just a long unnoticed potential hazard. 😕
  9. For the love of Wurm and everything grindy, please fix the pants. Can't be such a hard fix to copy, mirror and paste from the other leg, no? 😕 Thanks. ❤️
  10. I am on Xanadu, got another map earlier. ^^; So that makes 9 in 5 days just to surfacemining so far, but as other people have stated it's just a case of RNG. We would need a lot more data than the few tidbits we gathered here to actually paint a picture.
  11. Last 4 days I did a lot of surfacemining 9am to 10pm-ish on my Mag Priest, got 7-8 Maps. (7-8 because one was gotten on my main while I assisted the surfacemining effort with it) Had also MOIs where it was just a rare stone shard or nothing ofc. To me it seems fine... https://imgur.com/iLzfXzT Did a bunch over the weekend, but I basically get more than I have time to do. 😕

  14. Thanks, also mad respect for keeping it alife this long after being done with Wurm. 👍
  15. I always read how incredible hard it is to make something looking like real glass in games, but stained glass has been brought up here so it would not be truely transparent or that you could have a view of the outside truh it, at worst pretty distorted. Would make for a lovely design elements, maybe new wall types with huge church style window openings and now I am being mean... skins to get from the shop to change the images displayed in those stained windows. I feel a bit dirty and like I ruined a good idea, on the other hand you have to motivate the upper level folks a bit. Yes, I will see myself out, no need for the forks and that.
  16. yea... I'm sorry if I ruin anyones immersion when they see me (if at all, hermit life ftw), but I am weak with cute stuff and Wurm has so little cute decor, this is really a sweet wind in the shop. Now I just gota rare me a backpack for it to be worth it.
  17. That video was from 23. April, so about 2-3 months by now... putting it as if so much time passed where all of the issues Josh pointed out should have been fixed feels weird to me. Not to mention that sometimes what to us looks like a quick and easy fix, is not just a quick and easy fix and once changes have been made there needs to be testing and so on and forth... Also, anyone who ever played Wurm knows how slow progress is made because the Team is small and mostly volunteers. Right now they are working on stuff as they planed, just cause someone throws a video on YouTube does not mean that the team will put their announced plans on hold (Exploration Part II) and shift to work on the points mentioned in a video. I am sure changes will be introduced sooner or later, but things need more time than roughly 3 months... also it is easy to point out a flaw, but coming up with an idea to fix it and the fix itself can take quite some time. Don't get me wrong, I like the video, I like Josh and I do think he has many valid points in the video, but in terms of Wurm people need to ground their expecations and be a bit more real. Things change, but slowly - some people may say it is soooo slow that by the time we have the badly required changes the game will be dead... then again, people said Wurm is dead already years ago and here we are still playing.
  18. Because we are all underage and still need someone to parent us. I have yet to see another MMO that does this in such a blatant way. I recall FF XIV 1.0 (before ARR) was limiting people in some ways as well, at least it is what I heard - back then I did not play it simply because of this odd limitations to lvling up. So far I have yet to see ONE resonable argument for fatigue being in place, one that can not be reasonably argumented against. But all the casual people of course want this system to stay in place, because oh lord the people who play more than them could pull ahead... news flash - they already did anyhow and with or without fatigue it wont make any difference to the casual players. The only difference is for those people who play a lot to be held back and get frustrated by the limit whenever it rears its head and the fact that I paid to play for a full month and am being held back from doing so just adds insult to injury. But apparently we have a lot of people who totally enjoy to pay for a full piece of chocolate and then just eat a third of that, the other two thirds just can go bad and be thrown away right... on the upside you wont gain weight then! *shakes head*
  19. Yea, I am just a tad annoyed that people keep kicking this around as a reason for it being in place - sometimes you need to spell things out for people to see the light I guess. I am sure the devs are smarter than me and did think of it, but why things are as they (still) are riddles me. Artificially limiting people and reducing the play time we paid for is just wrong to me, I hate unfair things and this is the only grudge I have with Wurm - everything else I love big time.
  20. Grinded JS and Papyrusmaking the last week and suddenly got a new "buff" icon, Fatigue warning as I was below 3 hours - I continued until about 30m left, went to bed and did not login the day after. If you grind out stuff you can very easily hit it, also it is not a granted "bot detector". And when I take vacation from work while being in a Wurm playing mood then this will be a lot more annoying for me than usual, because I play from getting up until going to bed. The first time I ever hit fatigue it was due surface mining - back in the days the Wurm IRC channel was still somewhat used so I asked in there whats the deal with that and so on. No 5 Minutes later a GM stopped by invisible and poped me one of the question boxes that disables your from doing anything. Since then I have "hit" the fatigue cap multiple times but only in a soft way, like keep an eye on it and stop when I get to ~30 Minutes. (never been checked by GM since ever again either) Usually I am not able to play the day after and just keep sleeping for SB to load up and continue on the day after again. Now if a bad person has half a brain you know, do the 1+1 on your own. Not to mention, they can just make an alt as has been stated before, fatigue system certainly does not keep anyone from cheating. Also another big doubt on this reasoning - instead of letting the player hit a cap that disables gameplay and cover it with a lame "macro" excuse, they could just route the already logged information into a silent trigger with no player disabling feature added, the GMs would still get their trigger pingpong because the data is there, but don't keep people from playing or neuter the PLAY TIME we paid for. But that all aside, as has been said before in this thread and I myself have argued about in a older thread a few years ago - we pay for 30 days but we only get a fraction of it as real play time. Just because the casual players never hit the fatigue cap does not mean it is a good thing to keep around, people should be bothered that they are not getting what they paid for. I would be very interested to see what Josh would have to say about this system if he had encountered it. I actually got in contact with a consumer rights lawyer back when I was strongly arguing against fatigue, he took a look and was like "well yes, this practice IS questionable specially because there is zero info about fatigue before people buy into this system - but with the "size" the game has no one would really care enough to take up a case unless the entire playerbase was gona throw a tantrum and by that point the game has other problems." Honestly, since those many moons ago and the big arguments back then I have given up on fighting over it, but seeing the topic crawl up once again (it seems to happen every few years) it just made me feel terrible and now seeing people being like "yea keep it in its cool" who have no idea.... just stings. If you are not affected by it, cool - more power to you, enjoy the game, but please do not trample on other people who enjoy the game just as much as you do but have more time on their hands because of reasons (ranging from disabilities that make people not go out or whatever). Thanks for reading, I guess.

  22. looks cute, gona get one or two 🌵😅
  23. yea.. I mean the stat we all go by (unless I am misstaken) is premium accounts. If daily/weekly/etc. logins count for them as well (yeeey Steam stats.... tho I do not count towards those) then it may be their goal to push those with that, but the system was as is already in before Steam so... I don't know. But I paid premium and got zero because I had a weekend to weekend RL thing going... should at least have such gift login things going for 2-3 weeks, no harm in that. This is not one of those "kill mobs to get stuff" events where the timeframe would actually matter (and even those ran for multiple weeks). Why this simple login gift thing was on for such a short timeframe escapes me completly. 😕 Some QoL on that front would be nice.
  24. +1 to that... was away for a week (cause the 14th is my birthday and I took some time off not being around any gaming PCs) and thought "ok nice just gona grab it sunday morning quick when I get back" and nope, no chance... and that with 2 years of premium time on 4 chars. People with premium time during the event should be able to get such simple gift things and not have to work their RL schedules around these things. 😕 Now I have to spend money again to buy it of someone else...
