  1. I like the idea to solve the problems with people that don't wish to leave the Village they belong to due to attachment to the people there and wanting to use village chat or whatever other reasons they have.

Being able to hold multiple deeds could solve the problem with people wanting to live outside of the Village but could also be used to surround and KoS a Village as well.

A better chat interface in game would also allow people to keep in touch with the Village they want to belong to and live outside using the Village deed's permissions, not everyone wants to use Ventrillo or IRC etc .

I personally have no issues with the pricing of deeds and own a size 20 myself, that being said the tired argument of " prices are cheaper than ever " is getting as old as " deed it or its not yours".

If at some point GV is merged with Freedom, will people not premium be required to buy deeds at full cost to not be victims of " within the rules" griefing? , or is the alternative to be forced to join a village, buy premium or tough luck?

I think everyone in the combined threads addressing recent incidents on Freedom over the last month or so has put out most every solution to the problem with griefing for good or bad.

The impression that the game is a grief ridden game or nothing is really free , even your trial period if wish to not lose anything you've put work into, will give most the same impression of the game GV does currently.

  2. Deed size  Disable citizen limit

    Perimeter size  Guard count

Deed size 4 Deed tiles 81 Population multiplier 1

Free perimeter 5 Free perim tiles 280 Citizen limit 7

Full perimeter size 0 Extra perim tiles -280 Guard count 0

Total size 4 Total tiles 81 Max guards 3

Deed cost 1s 62c Base deed upkeep 16c Real deed upkeep 16c

Perim cost -40c Base perim upkeep -14c Real perim upkeep -14c

Guard cost 0c Base guard upkeep 0c Real guard upkeep 0c

Total cost 22c  Total upkeep 1s (base: 2c)

Pulled it from the Calculator , it doesnt really reflect a cost with 0 perimeter , or in a way I can read it .

That being said , following the thinking of Villagers needing space for themselves as suggested by Drago I believe ( sorry if got it wrong, tons of " wall of text " posts ) perhaps have a small private deed allowed by people that already belong to a town, have it be allowed to be placed within ( lets say 50 tiles of that towns perimeter ) with a smaller cost , for a private house , hobby garden , and ranch, 81 tiles max should be plenty, if need more than amount of space, you'd want a deed of your own in my opinion.

Set the price at maybe 1 silver to drop, and an upkeep of say 5 silver per calendar year , thats less than 10 euros which is a small price and would still allow you to contribute to your primary Village.

I'm sure I'm overlooking how this could be abused , but I imagine there are ways.

  3. It rains almost every day on my deed on Freedom , cant speak for wild , I'm doing tons of digging so it does effect me as proposed ,for water filling barrels , if I have barrels of dye, maple syrup , or a barrel with enough water to still pick it up and move it , how would rain water effect these?

  4. -1

They all seem negatives to already time consuming activities, huge terraforming projects should not be forced to go even slower for added realism.

For water filling containers left outside, having water on-hand already is not hard to accomplish

  5. Me and my wife have 3 characters from one IP address, in the past it has caused us unneccessary hassle where games track for shared use of one account.

I feel I would have more hurdles to jump through as in other games to just satisfy a few who feel one powerful character is being loaned out for whatever reason.

  6. I never understand these proposals.  At 10 Euro for two months, Wurm is easily the cheapest premium online MMO you're going to find.  Discounting it further is just an insult.

Doing a discount for a first month fools loads of people into buying it then after seeing premium they will keep buying.

Trust me, it works for other games.

  7. I agree that Rolf, and everyone else, needs days off.  However, my wife and I pay for a service.  I expect to receive that service.  Sleep bonus does not make up for that.  We happened up on this game and played for free in GV for a bit.  Enjoyed it and didn't mind the downtimes since we were not paying for anything.  We, also, did not have many extended downtimes.  I think I remember maybe one.  Since going premium however, it seems to be a constant occurrence.  Every time there is a patch there seems to be something that goes wrong.  And the answer is always give Rolf a break he has a family etc.  I have a family too.  When I have time to play, I expect to be able to play.  If we find another game that we enjoy as much, we may move.  Even though this game is cheap compared, we will simply refuse to pay for something we are not able to receive the benefit of.  If Rolf wishes for time off (something most people in start up companys do not get), then he needs to allow someone else the abilities to restart the game.  Or he needs to be on call 24/7 and whoever is online the ability to place a call and get him up for the restart.  Too much downtime will lead to many finding another place to spend their money.  We have another couple of months paid for already.  Question is will we pay for any additional time.  I do not care if there is sleep bonus given or additional premium time given.  I want the game to work.  Those others make no difference if you cannot play the game you have paid for.

  8. It seems quite a few are dreaming up clever ways to bring in new people , or what the premise is , I read it moreso as I have a deed I need more people to work on it to help me realise my vision, I dont have the time to do it myself at the pace I want it finished by .

    I fail at quoting

If i were to do it however i would advise the player to not spend it on a deed and rather live in a village or the outskirts of one because having a deed for one person is mainly a waste due to the amount of work that will be involved and premium time wasted when they can simply build a house in a friendly village, go out to do projects, explore and such rather than spending a lot of time on a deed which costs quite a bit of money and time to run if you have both premium and a deed.

Myself and my wife are quite happy on our size 18 deed with just 2 of us, it will take me at least 6 months to have it terraformed and things the way we like them, but in all honesty, I find that since I'm in no hurry , I change my mind weekly about how I want the finshed product to be .

I've played most games ever put out , Muds to the latest MMo's out there, even with coin drops in those games , player economy's are what they are, I'm not positive another 2k people would increase cash flowing around so much as to make ever person that has something they wish to sell self sufficient.

  9. Stairs would be nice , they could be applied the same as flowers / sprouts to a tile.

A dirt tile with a slope of 20 would allow 3 risers of 5 slope each or whatever size and slope would be needed to allow them for the code.

Carts and animals could be prohibited to still make us make ramps for those , they could be made of wood or stone and whatever componants you chose to add to the complexity and or skill level you prefer to set them at , handrails on the side of wood or iron might be nice as well.

I build stairs, form and pour concrete in the real world but know little of code, I would just like something new to wear my boots out on and some new eye candy to place on my deed.
