Keenan and the other Devs that didn't play during these times should read this instead of just stating it's not up for discussion, an Indi sized map with 2- 350 can be a lively server and great experience, perhaps it got tight on room due to so much wasted space on tall cliffs, but getting back to some of that feeling would make the Wurm experience closer to the original vision, before all the server bloat and cash grabs. If your dead set on closing discussions on bad PR and business moves motivated and infusing quick cash into the coffers that failed to either bring the numbers desired to warrant the servers or entertain any scenario to bring Wurm back to a player driven economy / world, then I can offer no help. Trade channels and fancy chair art doesn't fix a game where most interaction is in on global channels, I can get that kind of interaction on Facebook.

Who does it hurt, if you've played on pvp most your Wurm career and you want a break or the environment for pvp is stale atm, what harm is there in having a tabard, flags, towers etc. that differ from yours? I have different named horses, different house styles, my mine is setup different, I used my mirror different, it's a very small thing to give to one segment of the player base that has endured quite a bit over time, agree or don't but if the reason is just " F those Pee Vee Pee guys ", get over it, who knows they might even buy some ###### off your merchant.

I personally think people are believing too much in the " they will be back ", that was the case in the past but moreso than not people are not returning, or so says my friends list if look at the days since last logged on, not stirring the pot but the excuses of a small team, niche game, give the game time etc. has been used far too often.

My brain works fine thank you very much, you experiment is typically seen as a last ditch by AAA games that need more capitol to continue, most of the games I've experienced do not grow but continue to limp along with little change except to piss off a portion of the player base that is " ok " with the sub model they started with. It's been awhile now that the no sub, pay for what you play argument has come into existence, a strong argument I've seen over the years is " why should I have to pay for 30 days when I can only log in for 8 etc.", so the answer seems to be make a game free with skill caps, treasure boxes to buy keys for and god knows what the hell else to make people think they are getting a break not paying a monthly sub. If anything subs are cheaper in most cases, Wurm business aside, any road to a non subscription based model opens a door to making Wurm like most the games I loath to play these days, you've offered little to make this server different than a WU server besides 4x upkeep, very little merit to discuss when you start such a vague set of rules to the server your wanting to be discussed. The only clear Divide I see is the one between your ears.
  9. I seem to be a little loss on how a free server will make the game money, guessing it will be a free game with items for sale like the current way of most on the market? I play mostly games on steam thesedays because I really cannot stand item shop games, I prefer the current low cost of Wurm's subscription based model myself.

  11. So we should avoid collision on trees because its more convenient? I'm all for bending the laws of nature to some degree, but walking through trees was a quick fix to correct other problems to the game, if those issues are resolved it should return.
  12. Do we have players from Cuba? If things are that dire perhaps we can start a kickstarter for them so paying for Wurm is not such a challenge.
  13. I think the mailing system currently is better than is has been in the years I've played, while a few little things still need addressed I think it's best to leave the pricing as it is. Your more than able to mod whatever system you please on on private servers, and weight has very little to do with value, so it's a very poor way to accomplish whatever it is your wanting to do.
  14. I see it here and there recently as have been in defensive training shields, I have 50ish defensive, 35 aggressive and near 70 normal. I'm curious what you think is a very low skilled character.
  15. More drama here than when a Walmart moves into a small town, answer seems simple, don't like it don't shop there, if Gm's approved the highway changes seems all is in order. Local or not, if you have what I'm looking to buy you'll get my coin, unless of course the goal is to pass the same silver around within a closeby area, if that's the case, a market wouldn't be needed as you can do transactions via the trade window.

  17. Might try personal messages or /support if have highway issues, the GM's are pretty good at taking care of in game problems between 2 parties, both ways to do this are listed on the Wiki if you require assistance in how to do these things. Deeds look good from the photos.
  18. People are replying to what is listed in this weeks news, same as yourself, only thing being derailed is not talking only about what you consider important in this weeks update. Already enough from both sides on the topic of Fountain pans, the side opposite to your opinion can see daylight not having their heads shoved ....

  21. Confused a little myself, it was pretty much added to WU day 2 or so. So much of the code delving is taken as gospel that what you see on WU applies here, if that were so it would seem a done deal.
  22. Can you please provide me a link to your priest with high channeling But as a priest it's the best you can do. Thanks for the insight, perhaps the tool quality to gain skill should be added to the tutorial since it's the answer given, for years we guessed at how things were, if it's so simple, why the need to have to even search for the information.

You know what, I think I understand, my problem is that I always played the game and based skill on what I gained watching my skill bar and what I saw working, I forget nowadays the important thing is to delve into the code and make sure if anyone perceives a way to raise skill differently needs to be shouted down and made sure they understand they are not correct. Hopefully the wiki will be updated soon to make sure everyone knows the exact tool to use at every integer of skill level because that is important, and if anyone says different you are here to put them in their place.
  24. No offence but it seems anymore you can't say something seems changed without Dev's and Ostentatio saying it needs to be tested before you can say it seems to have changed. As far as the mechanic analogy, how can things be changed and it be such a guessing game for those that make the changes, either you know what you changed or you don't.
  25. Curious, did you just let it get to 22 damage without repairing it at all, I repair everything I own at about 1 damage and my shield after every fight. For a total of about 6 hours fighting my large metal ( iron ) started at 50ish ql, it is now 43, about 10 minutes to imp back up.
