  1. Another console log, as there are no timestamps not sure if the missing texture is related:
  2. Noticed that while riding to the Xanadu rift - the beacon appears to have a range of about 5km. Towards the edge of the visible range it appears and disappears as you look in different directions. This was using the stable client.
  3. If a player has more that 5 hours sleep bonus, the sleep bonus bar extends beyond the healthbar.
  4. I assume this is a bug - given what has been said about Mycelium on freedom in the past. There are two tiles of Mycelium towards the north west corner of the Xanadu rift.
  5. There really needs to be a better way of spawning these rift - 3 days is looking like a silly delay, at least without a server wide countdown till it opens. Dragons, even with all their drama, are better than this.
  6. Log with a couple of disconnect/reconnects from this evening with the unstable client.
  7. UTC+1 is the same as British Summer Time - but just got: [10:32:06] The server is shutting down in 30 minutes. Reason: Update incoming... Prepare for Rifts! Up to thirty minutes downtime. So, not UTC+1... looks more like UTC+2 or CEST. Guess somebody forgot about summertime? Hope nobody was planning on having that extra hour to get some place before the update.
  8. If the beacon turns out like those used for the event soon after this server started I don't expect it will be visible server wide. Watch the skies. Will also be helpful to have some bearings, even if approximate, once the beacon appear to help narrow down the location and allow people to make their way there by the simplest route. Particularly if we also get the tree collision, that is on the test server, back.
  9. Did someone say "Treasure Hunt"? This could be fun...
  10. i'll be there, or maybe not depending on what is happening at the rift... just noticed the updated time, I will not be there
  11. The bug I mentioned in just up the page are with the client without the new renderer (just rechecked).
  12. The link behind the text is to the unstable client, should be http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient_test.jnlp - This is without
  13. Rendering in the latest version of the test client is more than a little broken. The title bar has reverted to 'Wurm Online [Bridges]' rather than 4.0, so I assume this version is without the new renderer. Ground rendering jitters while moving, also affect distant terrain. Reflection of the rift beacon is white, rather than red. There are no shadows, not even the ones from the current 'live' client. Console Log: Open settings from within the game causes the game to crash, "Unexpected crash while playing The error was: <Toolkit not initialized>" Console log:
  14. My understanding is that they mark the perimeter of the rift. However, on test the rifts seem to be cycling through a few places so we are seeing the rift stones, crystals and plants from previous rifts. The corpses don't disappear when the rift completes. I also found the portal to the rift took me to a previous rift last night - as Damascus says, look for the beacon to find the current rift.
  15. Latest client update, tried a few times just before 17:00 (GMT+1), freezes on start-up - it starts rendering the ground but does not complete, no interaction with the game works. - tried again, now fixed
  16. Others will fight all three waves, and be there at the end, and get just a 0.25kg lump of seryll and nothing else. In doing 4 rifts I have only managed 3 shoulders, a bracelet and necklace. You're only happy cause the randoming worked in your favour. We have also seen somebody down the contribution list reported getting a rare adamantine lump at the end, when everybody else got seryll. I would hope to see things getting more balanced as we near release, not sure I have noticed that yet. This could be a very real problem. There are plenty of places on Xanadu that are all but inaccessible, and probably not worth the effort to make accessible. If they stay until finished, that could make rifts on a server effectively a 'dead' event. As well as the deed proximity check that has been mentioned, it would be nice if there was some terrain check, and probably a check for proximity to a previous rift - on the test server the rifts have been on top of old ones, and it becomes difficult to know which marker stones apply to the current rift.
  17. The rifts are being tested on the test pvp server, the crystals teleport you to the rift area on that server. Once ingame they will spawn directly on the server - so will just be a matter of sailing, riding, or running to get to the rift.
  18. Picture of Sol and a moon to show this
  19. right layered shoulder pad, steel [08:27:24] Used mainly to show off but also to intimidate, these armour pieces come in a variety of materials and designs. It can not be improved. Leather armour piece damage reduction vs crush damage left shoulder pad in image is 'left stylish shoulder pad, gold'
  20. The rift mobs attack mobs and animals, though don't seem to attack those being riden, that enter the rift. So they will kill any that are hitched to cart, or being led. So, best to have a compound away from the rift to store share horses, and probably not to fight from a cart.
  21. If you need to leave before the rift is completed you don't receive any loot if you are logged off when the rift gets completed.
  22. I had to leave about 7 hours ago, before the rift we were fighting was complete. Being logged off when it completed I didn't receive any loot when it finally completed. About an hour before leaving I got to "[23:06:46] Your participation has now reached phenomenal!" So, if you have to leave before the end, don't. Unless of course this is a bug and it is intended that all participants get a reward, and not just those that are there at the end.
