    Again, it's not the mobs themselves, it's the frequency and sheer numbers of them that poses a problem. Hell even champ trolls would be a huge deal if they spawned 4-5 in an area. No sensible player can disagree to that. We can't be 24/7 killing superpowered mobs, or else the game is changing into something else..

     

    I see nothing wrong with it, these spawns keeps epic interesting and on your toes. They're not overly superpowered although jkh got kinda unlucky with spawning champion drakespirits.

     

     

     

    To all the "leet" ppl that find this so amazing and challenging... -weren't you whinning about lack of pvp a few weeks ago? Now fighting PVE mobs is satisfactory?

    You really need to sort out your goals, because -frankly- nobody thinks about raiding, or defending these days. Hell, we don't even step outside our deeds in case we might need our guards <-this very part of the sentence, doesn't make you feel bad?

     

    The only amazing thing about this is that rolf finally fixed the code so that these monsters actually spawned, it's good to know that doing these missions will actually do something. As for the raiding part I see quite a few raid jkh, just little to no defending. I don't see why you're trying to guilt trip other people, if you find them too strong then gather some people and go kill them.

     

     

    I've fought them every time I found them so far, and I'm willing to run to a neighbor's aid on a moments notice. But we can't keep playing wurm like that, dropping everything else, to keep up with the excessive spawn-rate. Simple as that.

    If these things scare you then I wonder how you'll react with actual raiders.

    raids dont happen every 4 hours and these  mobs are probably stronger than  most raiders


  2. These things cannot be allowed near a spawn point. Same thing with the recent Kyklops - it looks like the devs and some players do not want new people in Wurm. Imagine you just come from the tutorial and spawn in Strongbox - all you see from Wurm is a red screen and a dialogue box ...

    it looks like rolf doesnt want anyone playing wurm im living in a mine mostly with a door on they cant get through.the last 3 days i have logged in and been attacked by insanely strong mobs almost as soon as i move.and im not a low fs person but why so many spawns ? it was fine the way it was.


  3. OK Folks, as you may have noticed, Rolf has updated the first post with the following:

    To give you an idea of what to expect, I managed to get hold of him JUST before he left for the weekend and the process is something like this:

    Enemy players kill all templars if merchant is on a deed.

    We did ask for enemy players to be able to view a merchants inventory. That way raiders will hopefully ignore the merchants that just carry random small items. However, Rolf left before I could confirm this with him.

    Timer will be started when merchant is 'threatened' which is currently based of taunting skill and will likely be quite long (precise info unknown and subject to change).

    Not sure where the message about a merchant being threatened will be broadcast. Possibly deaths tab.

    At the end of the timer, the merchant will drop everything - I asked that he consider just unlocking the merchant for a short duration for enemies to take anything. This way, stuff they can't be bothered with will remain on the merchant for potential purchase rather than any old person wandering by and grabbing the left overs.

    Coins will not be dropped

    I hope this makes a bit more sense now.

    Because people on Freedom shouldn't be limited to placing merchants on designated market deeds only.

    so we need to move the mercs to our deed that we dont let randoms walk into when they feel like it ?


  4. People are quitting already because you have this game that says they can see a dragon and hunt one only to find out its a lie.

    People Would not be quitting just because they saw a dragon for a day and had to run thats an over statement.

    You and I both know you could kite a dragon with an alt to somewhere else easily.

    move to epic black light home all unique's are still alive get up close with one and see how much fun it would be to have them roam the map.


  5. Rolf why don't you do the same for traders let it drop some thing that is overpriced that you usually have to pay silver coins for .They are also holding some good loots


  6. While I sympathize, any suggestions on a change to make?

    1. Ideas/ways to clarify what you mean here? Suggestions on what to address to make it "fully 3d"?

    2. Have to ask, are you a Wurm PVP player and think this would improve the PVP aspect or PVE player and this would be something that would increase your draw to PVP gameplay?

    i really thought i gave what i thought i got nothing left lol it needs to be easier for new players most new players dont want to be dropped into pvp or die as soon as they leave the starter village.the only other thing i can offer is the alt system it isnt good for any kingdom if its about making money rolf steam roller these guys that are scared of change.give us a map reset every 1 to 2 years


  7. For the same reason no other weapon (except weaponless) isn't either?

    Fight Skill is the knowledge of how to use your skill in combat, the weapon skill is the knowledge of how to use the weapon effectively.

    Course the description of Fight skillin the wiki might need to be changed from the generic "melee" since this implies close range (within "reach") combat only.

    it isnt for me to say but all other weps are close combat and are related to fight skill archery is a class of its own

    it would be a good fight when you turn up to fight me close range with your bow and i hack you down with my sword.archery is not melee

    melee it will never be it is a skill on its own cause it is unrelated to toe to toe fighting archery makes sure i will never get that close
