  1. -1 Its already hard enough to pick locks. In case of your own deed that got raided. Try using gatehouses and more than a single lock to stop people. Remember, doors only stay open for ten minutes (or till an enemy enters local, thank Rolf for that) Gatehouses already provide two doors that need picking for the price of one doorlock, and have much less hassle than gates. Combine a gatehouse with a pallaside gate or two near your token along with a templar, and you will be fine. People don't want to risk getting locked in an enemy deed, especially not on a home server. On a different note, this is the exact same discussion as the complaints about shieldbashing. This all comes down to a bunch of people biting trough the sour apple and grinding a hard skill up and reaping the rewards from it, only having the rest complain about it because they are to lazy to grind it themselves.
  2. That will backfire. Wurm runs horribly, has allot of bugs and is generally unpolished. While people who already play Wurm can see the actual game behind these bugs, new players will be scared of by this. And this will give Wurm a bad reputation.

  4. This already happens, it says that you are practically standing on the person. However, at that point you can't do a dam thing to hurt him. That is what my post is about. Not a bad idea, makes tracking usseful.
  5. This topic is meant as an actual suggestion and a place to discuss the stealth mechanic currently in place. I personally consider the stealth mechanic to be quite broken. Currently there isnt much one can do against somoene being stealthed. And this is something that needs changing badly. Therefore I suggest the following: Using a locate spell, pendulum or damaging spell in a very close proximity (or perhaps even on the tile itself) of a stealthed person, should instantly unstealth that person. This way, stealthing can still be used for traps and such, and to waste more of an enemy their time to actually find you. But now it is actually possible for an enemy to unstealth you and get their deserved kill.

BUT for tweaking it a bit more. *Nolocate casts or jewellery does not work *Locate casts don't cost favour (nor give any skillgains) *Lurker pendulums have an unlimited range (since hots lacks a locate spell) *You can't stealth *10x the damage to minedoors with 50ql max + the same unlock rules for houses offdeed with enemy in local (Anyone that dislikes this part hates pvp and shouldnt play on epic) I wouldnt personally add uniques, but that debatable.
  7. These kind of "gimmicks" have a goal of providing convenience. Giving an exaggerated example, one could say: "Is it really that necessery to make a tunnel trough the mountain? Just climb it instead, it only takes a few days of climbing" Things like this make tasks easier and less annoying. So, +1 from me.
  8. Please explain your logic behind spending ingame silver on premium being a bad thing. Since the silver is permanently removed from the game. The only problem I see is with traders, and traders are a borderline exploit in my eyes that simply have to be removed. Reduce trader price to 5s or less, and simply remove the ability to sell things to a trader.
  9. -1 I instead suggest removing trader draining entirely. Keeping the 10s for a month of premium in is extremely benifical, since it permanently removes silver from the pool. Which then has to be bought again from the shop. Afcoarse without traders, people actually have to get off their asses and buy premium and pay for deeds from their own wallets, instead of leeching of people who don't have a trader yet. Edit: to add to that, because you are forced to use paypal in the wurm shop, (which already is an extremely bad practice in my eyes.) Many people simply cannot or refuse to become prem. This is because they either do not trust paypal, or are not capable of using paypal. So instead people work ingame to earn silver for premium, you would kill off many players if you removed buying prem ingame.
  10. Thats why my suggestion considers removing keys entirely. But alternatively, you cant store locks without the key (or the key just goes poof) and when removing a lock from the bsb you get a key along with it.
  11. I have the following suggestion. Allow the ability to store all kinds of locks in bsb's. Locks are currently mass produced for priests, being able to store them should lessen the strain on the server. In addition, remove all keys from locks. They are extremely annoying, and alternatives exist and are widely used already (gatehouses). Instead allow management options for chests, fences etc. This way, managing becomes much easier, and there is no hassle with locks and keys in bsb's.
  12. We need a ship for 7-8 people badly. So many times where we are stuck drawing straws because we only have 7-8 people for pvp.

  16. Im pretty sure its just that 7k mob jump the changelog is mentioning. Its a shame though, Affliction is supposed to be extremely dangerous. I want those mobs back realy.

    What ever you do, do not color names in local. Allow people to be sneaky. you might not notice a white name pop your local for a second. But you will notice it when that name is red. If you must keep it in, force people to kcheck first before the names colors.
  18. It is possible, however that priest will be forced to live in a cave out of local range. Why you ask? Because having enemy players in local will reduce your skillgain untill the enemy either leaves the area or dies. Therefore any enemy priests are forced to live in caves away from guard towers and the local of players.

  22. Pretty much as the title says. A seperate board purely meant for tools which help you play Wurm, calculators etc. Perhaps the board could also be used for coding help related to those tools. Why? because I have seen allot of different tools pop up lately, and I dont think they fit on the general discussion board.
  23. The forums are worth 10% of the entire Wurm population if not less. And in all honesty, Rolf might aswell test this. 1 hour loggoff timers with enemy in local will kill minehopping. And thats a good thing. Deed guards stronger over time prevents people from griefing deeds to hell and back. So this might just work.
  24. (replying to various different ideas, im not going to qoute it all) I dont mind an increased logout timer when you have enemies in local. 20 minutes should be fine. Just dont force us to afk for 20 minutes at a bed. (just exit the game and keep the character in the world for 20 minutes before going to sleep) Forcing people to drop all their items on loggout is a terrible idea. Because Wurm is so horribly optimized, disconnects happen extremely common. And besides that. Having to re-equip everything every loggin is just a pain. Hurting the homeservers more is a one way trip to killing Epic. Epic thrives because it allows new people to try the game before they go prem. Letting them try on Freedom first is NO alterative. People will either stick to freedom because they already settled there. Or they will simply quit playing because it is to boring/to grindy. Removing f2p on the home servers is a one way trip to killing epic aswell. Why? because with the current culture in gaming, "free to play" is the way to go. This is no issue of prem being to cheap or expensive. It is an issue of culture, something we cannot really affect. So we must adapt to it. Capping any resources on the homeservers isn't going to do much either, same for removing the CR nerf. People who already live on the home servers are going to have even more difficulty to get into pvp. No, this is no incentive for people to move to Elevation. This is an inventive for people to quit playing permanently. Either way, whatever Rolf does. Before he does anything. He should make an easy way for people ingame to voice their opinion. Whetever this is by poll or interview. It is certainly better than reading the forums, where only a small amount of the actual people who play Wurm post.
