  1. Applied on the site, bumping just for fun!
  2. I think the main problem is people calling it Free To Play, it should be called Free to TRY. Every time I see a 'give f2p more' post I read: "Look, its a game we can build anything in, let's see how much I can get for free, let them try and figure out how to keep the servers running, just give me more for nothing." Come on, premium isn't expensive at all. Take one less movie trip, eat one less Big Mac a week and boom, you can afford it. Support the game you play.
  3. Mouse Glitch

Also, this is only a Windows and Wurm issue. I never had it playing any other game, or with Wurm on Linux.
  4. Spears

I want a single handed wood imped weapon too, please.
  5. Come on, the headache would be so worth it.
  6. Only if its one HUGE server with PvE and PvP areas and all the other servers, including Epic, get deleted.
  7. I was playing Minecraft in 3D using the anaglyph setting and 3D glasses I got from a kid's 3D book and was thinking, how great would it be to play Wurm in 3D. Make it so!
  8. Mouse Glitch

I had the problem a lot as well, but only on Windows 8 and 8.1. Since I went back to Linux, the problem has never resurfaced.
  9. So Chaos is back to its old self, so to speak. How about reverting the server name back to Wild?
  10. I still think that PMKs aren't the way to go, but add that functionality into the Alliance system. Asheron's Call had a good allegiance system where there was one "monarch" and vassals that swore under them. The more vassals and higher the pyramid went, the more titles and benefits the allegiance and ruler got. You could have mayors of deeds swear allegiance to a strong deed, forming a Alliance (can't really call something a kingdom with 20 whopping people in it, can we?), that Alliance ruled by that mayor everyone is sworn under. Of course, mayors can swear under other mayors, forming a pyramid and grant special titles and perks (if any). This would let players form whatever alliances they wan, break off from a strong one easily to form smaller ones, and support politics and intrigue. Wiping out an enemy deed, then, would severely weaken an enemy Alliance. Of course, some logistical issues would have to be worked out, such as towers (if there are any used by then, could get rid of them, or make them HAVE to be in a perimeter, or be considered neutral).
  11. Just a little update. Tried to do Path of Hate on a clearly marked Hate tile, in Libila's domain and a mycelium tile, and nothing. No "This is indeed a special place" or any special message. The tile is useless.
  12. Here's the deal, for all you resetters. This has been asked multiple times over the years and completely lacks any forethought on your part. All a server reset does is: 1) Upsets the people who have established themselves and worked for what they have. 2) Asserts your selfishness for a "fresh start" and "even footing". 3) Puts a band-aid on the real problem of why people don't pvp in Wurm. Epic is a clear example of how even a fresh start with 0 skill leads to this stagnation. Its a problem with game design, not the map or your skills. Rolf learned from the old MR and JK Home servers. You pull the plug, people leave.
  13. I think that is the best idea I have seen in a while, and agree completely.
  14. I totally agree we don't need more servers right now I was just suggesting it for perhaps a future development. With what is going on right now in development so these are just for thoughts to get on the board, get hashed out and get talked about.
  15. Here Busted: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/66579-new-challenges-moons-of-wurm/ See what you all think.
  16. With the thread on player retention getting to 10 pages, and the debate of keeping players rages on, a thought came to mind for new servers to add to the Freedom-style cluster (slow and steady gain, no curve). Why not add three more servers: Valeri, Seris and Jackal. These three servers would each have separate sets of creatures, challenges and resources that only the most hearty of players would be able to deal with. Valei - Home of the gods, this moon would be the most dangerous map to go to. The creatures on Valeri would range from crocodile-difficult to red-dragon. Players couldn't really venture too far from the portal alone, and could even encounter the Wurm itself (which would be very, very bad, it kills gods). It is also here that past, perma-dead Champions could once again be played! Jackal - Here one would encounter a bleak landscape of all the damned souls that perished without any god to claim them. The hostility to living players would be incredible, massed upon them by hordes of lost souls, hungry for revenge or redemption of some kind. Seris - The haven for the dead, Seris is the most "peaceful" realm where players would find a step-up in challenge. A realm composed of all the past's dead souls that were claimed by the gods, as well as the creatures that try and feed on them. A character would be subject to new attacks, such as assaults on their soul energy to being accosted by the very dark spirits that demand knowledge. Each moon would yield special resources that require more and more skill levels to achieve. These resources could be used to craft even better equipment, make alchemical elixirs with powerful properties or more. Getting to the moons would require the completion of a special portal for each one, crafted with special materials and enchanted to work. Like Epic portals, one could keep their deed and still play on the moons at their leisure. Of course, no deeding on the moons, as deeds are bought from the "king", and would increase the challenge by not having a safe haven for mortals. Lastly, a suggestion would be to have each moon allow a skill level un-obtainable on the main servers, such as a max 110 on Seris, 120 on Jackal and 130 on Valeri.
  17. I don't get how hostility can make people want to play Wurm more, I just don't. There's enough hostility in the game from all the creatures, adding bashing to them and deed wrecking isn't "fun" and won't have people stay. Not sure how in someone's twisted mind, that a new player who is already running for their lives will feel more compelled to stay playing Wurm if some creature keeps breaking their enclosure or house, killing them and keeping them from feeling at least a little safe someplace. That first few days of playtime are crucial to a player's retention.
  18. I would like a view-able friends list as well. Its silly we don't have it yet.
  19. Well, it wasn't my intent to anger anyone. The tile feels like a leftover that was just left behind because Rolf decided not to code it out. If the BL wasn't allowed on Freedom servers, then all the mycelium and Libila altars should also logically go as well. I realize its part of Wild's past, and definantly want to keep the server around because its all we have left of the original game.
  20. A few more real examples of wooden weapons from various cultures, including training swords on the end:
  21. I not only like the idea but also find the thought of my stamina burning down to nothing fast when riding a horse ridiculous. I'm sitting in a saddle, not pulling the horse in a cart. Same goes for piloting a sailboat, large cart or the like (except rowboat, that makes sense). I suggest adding a very minor stam loss to the above, instead of "Look, I rode 50 tiles on my horse, now I am exhausted."
  22. Look at: http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android and be impressed. I am.
