  1. The amount should be the same, that's the most anyone could pick up at once, just make it so they can be butchered multiple times, and multiple players could help butcher it. A whale took a whole village to harvest.
  2. Pretty self explanitory. I have even deleted my Wurm folder and re-installed and it will not make a desktop shortcut. I have to keep using the web jnlp. I am on 64-bit Windows 8.1
  3. So 37 weeks in with the new team and mostly we get new models, graphics and items. That's all fine, but what about: 1 - A more interactive combat system? The combat is extremely dull, been asking for this for years, and all I hear is crickets. 2 - Bugs people complain about for years that never get attention. 3 - Bridges, why so silent on that progress? In fact, why so silent on all progress not graphical? Oh, did I mention FIX COMBAT! Not going to re-prem until the game is fun, right now its a dull right-click fest and progress bar watching extravaganza. *yawn*
  4. If underwater play ever becomes something, and we have maybe potions or spells/items of water breathing, maybe Rolf can have an ocean server with: 1) A roving band of marrauding NPC pirates. 2) Take a cue from Minecraft and have some underwater ruins/temples. 3) Allow us to play a new aquatic race and build/terraform under water. 4) Center of that server is a tempest complete with whirlpool that can suck your ship down, maybe something awesome at the bottom. 5) A "Lost" island that pops up once and a while with rare creatures, trees, ruins, source pools, etc. Possibilities are endless.
  5. I read the interview with Rolf a few minutes ago, and when he said "I want Wurm to go on for another 20 years" (or something to that effect), I got to thinking. What if you have your loyal players with you that long? Right now, we have people, me included, who have been with Wurm from or almost from the start, and are still playing. There are many characters now with 100 skills, a lot with over 90. In another 6 years, you're looking at a land filled with JotAs, and nothing to shoot for, no need for each other except in pvp or for social engagements. What I suggest is to allow skill to go over 100, and as skill slowly creeps over 100, have special effects/options/abilities open up. Perhaps a combat skill over 100 opens up "mystical" combat moves. Craft skills over 100 have a much higher chance to produce fantastic items, and even pound enchantments into the object that priests can't do. Also, over 100 quality items could become more "artifact" type items, and require very special ingredients to get there. Perhaps rare metals, or animal parts, or rare spawns. You already have glimmersteel, dragon parts such as blood and source fountains, so you could expand on that for 100+ craft.
  6. Its always fun to explore and settle a new land. Go see lands no one has ever seen.
  7. Actually the server we tested was able to handle that many in local without any lag. We had 300+ players on with minimal lag and they were even spawning things to fight. Xanadu is on new server hardware I believe. Have some faith.
  8. I just bought and placed a Trader. Hope the change isn't too drastic. By the way, love the other additions! Can;t wait to have bridges, the life it will bring to the maps will be tremendous. Crabs and sea life? Awesome! Are we going to be able to dive under water soon? Can you say breathing under water spells/items?
  9. Shows you how much I play there.
  10. I have an idea after reading some rage posts about bugs before new features. I agree that there should be more attention to bugs than there is, but not many people play on the test server. So how about a new test server? On the test server, its just like the real servers. People can play on them, but: 1) You have to use the unstable client, always. 2) The server can be reset at any time 3) Full pvp, no deeds (because the server can reset) 4) Your skills are separate from the normal cluster Benefits of the Test Server: 1) You get premium for free (only on that server, you 'pay' your premium by helping the dev team test bugs) 2) Skill gain is double like Epic, to help with high end skill bug squashing (if there is any)
  11. We all do. Go play something else if you want a P2W model, or easy going.
  12. We have staves for sorcery on Epic. Makes sense for them. Priests always had holy symbols in real life, usually worn about the neck with rosary.
  13. No way to a pay to win scenario. Even buying an account means that account was earned up at least the right way. The work was done, all that changes is who's behind the keyboard.
  14. Makes no difference to me, the server will be big enough. Free alt with deed form here I come.
  15. My suggestion is to get rid of statuettes for priests casting spells, and make new items: Holy Symbols. They go in the neck slot and show in the hand when used to channel.
  16. Wow, Jade, learn to make paragraphs, easier to read your posts. I would love flying mounts, to be honest. Make them extremely rare, very, very hard to tame and need a high body control to ride. As for people swooping in and stealing stuff from enclosures on Freedom, deed it. If it's not deeded, then its probably not worth the time for someone with a flying mount. What could a free player have that anyone with one would want, anyway? Can't steal horses that way, you're flying!
  17. Historically, horseback fighters did have the advantage due to height. Its more difficult for an attacker to attack upwards but easier to attack downwards.
  18. Will you please make it easier to lead creatures out of mines? Its really frustrating that once you cross over to the normal map from a mine, a creature loses targeting on you and most times won't follow you out.
  19. PvP easy fruits

Why I don't pvp right now: 1: I have no chance against high skilled people with uber gear. The gap is too huge, even with 45 FS. Solution: Make it viable, give lower skill a chance against higher. 2: I loose everything when I die, and it takes a long time to make more. Solution: Like Asheron's Call, you lose 1 or more items, starting with the most valuable when you die. 3: Most raids usually happen when people are offline. Solution: Beef up deed guards when no villagers are online, and any tower in the deed. Make locks harder to pick and walls harder to bash. 4: Your combat system is HORRIBLE, its non-interactive and is really dull. Solution: Make combat more interactive instead of a text-scroll fest. 5: Stealth system is really bad, so is the Local tab. How the heck do I know someone is 80+ tiles from me? Am I psychic? Solution: Fix stealth to be perhaps based on Thievery, easier to get into and lower the distance on the Local tab on pvp servers unless they say something or engage in combat.
  20. So, wait a sec. People in a pvp cluster want to have a place where there's less chance for pvp? I don't get it. "I want to be safe" - Play on freedom. "I want pvp" - Play Epic or Chaos with no limits. I have to say, I approve.
  21. I play right now on Freedom, and I could care less if people on Epic also got a title at 100. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game at all.
