  1. This is what I am worried about, as most players (especially most of the newest ones) have some really stupid or un-medieval sounding names. No one names their kid Psychosmurf, Nervesplitter, Godoffal, Vroomfondel, Theoldknight, or god forbid, Yoshigohonk. No offense to any of those players, those just aren't real names, they are "let's see what kind of goofy name I can make, even if I have to mash two or three words together to get it." None of them would make a good deity name and let's be frank, no one would worship them if they made it past the deity that ascended them.
  2. YES! o my goodness, a minimap! NO MINI MAP! What is this, WoW, where everyone in a medieval world has some radar sense? Come on people. You want that kind of easy mode, go play those games. Wurm is meant to be gritty and challenging. Next thing you'll want are dots on the minimap that show where animals are, and a pull up map that has you on it and where everything is. What happened to the human spirit of exploration? Adventure? In Wurm, I get those. Its the ONLY game that I do.
  3. A better idea would be to make a pantheon of a few gods for each kingdom. I was stewing this over reading a few other threads and it makes sense if Rolf is going to divide them up. To me, MR seems like a more "knightly" kingdom, and should have gods that represent that ideal. Magranon would be one, then add a god or goddess of wealth and trade, akin to Vynora, but more garnered towards merchants than crafting. The MR Fo counterpart would be a god more associated with hunting and animal dominance (i.e. D&D rangers come to mind, as do druids). For the Blacklighters, more than one goddess. Make her the patron deity, but make her role more of a martial one. Add a deity of the natural world, but one of pestilence, disease and "corrupting" wildlife and turning natural creatures such as bears and cats into infected and rabid versions. Lastly, a crafting deity that has dark enchants and is more a deity of theft and acquiring wealth at all costs. JK seems to me like a more primal kingdom, like the Norse, and deities should reflect that. Have a war deity like Odin or Thor who revels in combat and strength of arms over chivalry. Fo and Vynora stay JK. Just my thoughts, and I am not on Wild, but I am a 22 year veteran of the D&D game, having run games for a very long time. Each kingdom then would have a "feel" to them and unique enchantments and spells they could bring to the field. Thoughts?
  4. BP's idea has merit, and I would have suggested the same. If you have interaction, you can have a skill based on it. Just sailing forward on auto run is no basis for skill gain.
  5. Someone thought lye was dye, I see.
  6. Kind of defeats the purpose of them being called uniques then, doesn't it? Should they then be called "rares"?
  7. Rolf's 2011 Wishlist

This: •Better animations and new and updated creatures Will get you this plus more: •4000+ premium players by the end of the year Garunteed. Every single person I have tried to get to play Wurm with me save two have said it was the graphics of the creatures and player's (and lack of customization) that keeps them from playing the game. Only one said it was the game play (mostly crafting over action, action, action like WoW).
  8. Rolf's 2011 Wishlist

The 2147 (now 2151) are current premium players with active premium time. The number of people who have been premium at one point, but are no longer, will be far higher. And I dont see why alts should not be counted. The point of a high premium count is more income for the game. Alts are still income which goes towards development. Wait, 2151? That's over 10,000 euro a month. Why isn't he paying you guys?
  9. How about instead a colored outline around the item's icon? That way, as MrB said, the text color doesn't confuse new players and it makes more sense and a glowing item would be...glowing.
  10. Deeds

My two cents: End the unlimited free trial, you create leeches on the server. Make it a 14 day trial and all their stuff decays insanely fast after the 14 days is up. Its 10 euro (boils down to 5 per month, or half the cost of WoW). Honestly, you can afford Wurm if you can afford to have an internet connection. Just don't go to the movies once a month, or don't hit McDonald's one extra time. Free players don't need any premium benefits. None.
  11. I agree with Hordern, play on Wild. Join a village and craft in peace forever. You never see pvp unless you want to.
