  1. Devil advocate:

He said the same number of actions. So for a fence, four ten second actions. For something like a wall, a lot longer.

Guess I misread that bit. Still it a lot faster then a dozens of 30 second actions tho. Would take 200 second for any QL tall stone wall.

I have been at a fence before which took me about 50 minutes (about 1dmg average per 30 second action (21str, ql 30 fence). It has the potential to cause a lot of harm if it tumbles to 3 minutes 20 sec.

I understand the time it is at currently is rather high. Perhap if it went 50% faster so 25 minutes in previous example would be better. (thread is kinda starting to head in the direction of suggestion now tho hehe)

  2. Wurm would be more fun if a craft/build type toon could destroy anything s/he created with the same effort it took to create said item. In your case, this means destroying wooden fends with roughly 4 of 10 sec actions.

Untill you destroy a talll stone wall in 4 to 10 seconds by clicking on it accidently. At which point you get to rebuild it with 20 bricks. Quickly destroying things is a sure way for disasters.

This would be even worse (or open up new griefing ways) during a siege on wild. Imagine your trusted mason to tear down all 5 outer walls within a minute for the enemy to barge in. Not so good

  3. Also I don't plan on this character ever leaving the safety of the deed without escort so would turning this character into a champion be an option at some point?

Champions are only avaiable on Wild currently according to Wiki. Another thing to keep in mind :)

  4. Good idea, cause nobody besides me ever clicks on the wrong action for any object. I'm sorry but I fail to see that command helps at all
It's not needed if you remove them with the typed command (because you deserve it if you can do that by accident :P ), and surely if you're close enough to click on the wrong action and thus remove them, you're close enough to add them again...?

Yes I would be but, it requires both people to add the other again and confirming the add. The idea was to reduce 4 click to 1 click.

  5. Not sure if this has been suggested before but could a conirmaion be build in for remove friend? It's a nightmare at times to add a friend without being able to do this over a distance.  (more on this in this thread http://wurmonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=30222.0)

Removal however is instant and has no confirmation window or such. I have removed a friend of mine 3 times within a month because of this.

Take more care when you click on someone.

  6. Perhaps another option for making them dragable would be with log (to provide less drag and a rolling surface) say 5-10 log per tile with a tick rope as active tool.  Keeps it more in place for realism while still making it able to move them.

The added price of 5-10 logs (or whatever number) makes it really not worth trying to steal or liberate one just because you can while still enabling people to move a forge around if required or wanted but at a cost.

Could even add a requiment that the logs would have to be half the QL of the moved object (or something like that). Another feature which could be added is small random amount of damage to the moved object with every moved tile.

  7. I have not been able to think of a use for rafts either. The inability to command it just makes it pointless. Except for getting lots of goodies in a big ship by using rafts in the hold but might as well call them transportcontainers then.

Perhaps making them commandable with reduced storage would improve their usefulness. So good capacity if dragged but still a valid option for travel by reducing storage (although this would bring all sorts of checks into play when trying to embark)

  8. Once, after dying on GV and not having a compass with or knowing where the place I respawned at was at. Lasted short tho as landmarks were found within 10 minutes.

Too bad the option for less than 10 is not present tho.  OP must not believe people can have good navigation skills :P

  9. I found tall stone wall to work great as well. But they do require rbick which means more waste but also get stonecutting along the way.  And with your goal of making a house it is needed either way. If no wall are needed/ wanted I guess the grindstones are better as you want both stonecutting and masonry for stonehouse building
