  1. Wurmians! I've been working on this crazy underground tunnelling project. With the new clad walls and Cave paving, Wurm tunnels can look insanely amazing! However! One thing that would make these tunnels properly castle-dungeon-like is the ability to clad the ceilings! I mulled it over with the options. On one hand, you could have it just mirror the floor (as in: make it paving) - But I think that's just out. It would be to repetitive and would probably cause vertigo in a lot of players (Which way is up!?) Clad is 100% the way to go. It would both match the walls below as well as look more logical (mortared-together bricks, not ones just simply stacked in the dirt like the paving graphic suggests). Below I have posted a picture of an intersection in my tunnels. As you can see, a great amount of my square-footage is made up of ugly rock. It'd be super neat if it was possible to turn all that grey rock into beautiful red-brick arched-ceilings! Wurm Devs! You've given us so much in the underground department, but we want more! Consider the ceilings! They need equality! ~Lei
  2. Cave Paving

I'd say for best appearance, make it show a normal cave floor. (though that doesn't make much logical sense) I assumed that's the reason it wasn't implemented. Gets tricky, but anything to make it happen would be amazing!
  3. In my recent endeavours with underground paving, I noticed that it is not the same as above-ground paving. Much to my dismay, there is one huge difference. You can only pave an entire tile. The option to "pave nearest corner" is not available. With above ground paving, paving the nearest corner does not only make nice corners, but makes super nice paving-patterns possible. Wurm Devs, please bring paving equality to the underground dwellers! We want fancy roads through our dark tunnels too!
  4. Anyone have any idea what the 100 shield smithing title might be? I'd love to add it to the wiki!
  5. Could have even logged off with someone that will never return to the game. Shame that happens. History gets lost that way.
  6. There should be more than one - there was at least 2 challenge servers - And rumour has it that it was given at the 10 year wurm anniversary for something or another.
  7. As the title reads, I'm interested in contacting an owner/owners of the Staff of Land and seeing what price it would cost to take it off your hands! PM Leifar in game, or message me here on the Forums!
  8. +1! It'd even be cool to save the last charge of a tome or something, so you can put it on display in your library! (ridiculous, but also would totally do that.)
  9. Agreed, but it'd have to be done in a way that still feels authentic for the Wurm world. Maybe magic glowing mushrooms, or valrei items that cast ambient light. (Imagine walking through a thick cedar grove at dusk with bioluminescent mushrooms giving off low light all along the forest floor) +1 for fancy ambient lights
  10. I more or less knew it was planned in the future, I just wanted to throw out some ideas of how it could be done. Good to hear for sure though that it will be happening eventually.
  11. Personal Goals Revamp So this game has this wonderful motivational goals list that is randomly generated from varying difficulties of tasks. Everyone has a different set of tasks. The player is supposed to have these "goals" in the back of their mind when encountering things in their normal Wurm life as things they should complete them eventually. This would be a really big incentive to do things out of the ordinary and inspire me as a player to branch out and do skills I wouldn't normally do just to obtain the "goal". However, there is a problem. A quick look over my "personal goals" and going down the list, many of them are possible. Some are very challenging, like cutting an absurd amount of trees, or making a ton of wine. But one of mine in particular is literally impossible to complete on freedom. "Become a demigod". From my understanding of demigod, its impossible to obtain on freedom. If I were to go to the place it is possible (Epic) - my "personal goals" would reset. So though I have this list of really good motivators, I can never complete them all, and thus, never receive the reward that is fabled to exist at the completion of the personal goals. Now, with that out of the way I do think it should be nearly impossible to complete them all(keep the tasks challenging but possible given enough time). Alternatively I suppose the reward for completing the personal goals could change to something still rare, but a little more mundane(Maybe a rare cosmetic item that is non-tradable(instant Wurm status-symbol)... or even a rare title). This subject has come up with me several times with other players, and I wanted to bring it to attention that it should be looked at(if it isn't already) to encourage more players to be spontaneous and branch out from the normal daily Wurm-grind! What do you think? -Lei
  12. Don't stop making these! You two are part of the great wurm community, and your professionalism in casual game videos adds something that makes me love our community so much!
  13. +1 for ceilings! I've thought this many times, thanks for voicing the idea publicly!
  14. Looking

Graphically this game leaves a lot to be desired, but something easy to add that would improve the ambience of the game is the ability to move your characters head. When you mouse your screen, your view changes, but outwardly, your character is still staring dead ahead. I'm not talking about your toons body turning left or right depending on where you're facing, I'm specifically referring to your characters head. While this change doesn't add anything game changing, it'd be a nice little touch to see your friends looking up at your high castle towers, or down into your new cave-dwelling-dungeons. Thoughts?
  15. Scabbards, Sheaths, and holsters Original Wurm Character models Character customization has come a long way in Wurm. When I started the game, every single character online looked identical. Green tunic, green pants, black belt with a gold buckle. Now we can choose how our characters faces look right down to the crook in our nose. With all the new cosmetic items as of late (masks, shoulder pads, new necklace models) I'm sure many players are dreaming of the possibilities of how their Wurm Online character could look. And while many players are asking for new items (capes, cloaks, scarves, etc), I think that there is a blatantly obvious omission from the existing character appearance. Every single character in this game carries an object in their hand. Ninety nine percent of players carry a weapon. Sword, axe, staff - you have it, there are many weapons. But not one of them has a sheath. No scabbards. Not one holster on Wurm Online. Imagine a war party riding out on horseback, with axes slung over shoulders. Swords dangling from belt sheaths. Staves slotted in holsters diagonally across the back. It'd be practical in the real world, but it'd simply look nice in Wurm. An example of how weapon sheathing could look. The way I imagine it working is whenever you go out of your fighting stance (right click > No Target after engaging an opponent), the game would check if you have a scabbard, sheath, or holster equipped. If so, and so long as the weapon type you have correlates to the type of sheath you have, you will put your weapon away into it. The current "no-targeted idle" can remain in game for the people who don't have a sheath equipped. Perhaps there could be an advantage to sheathing your weapon. Increases in movement speed could be one. It can be slight, but would still give a reason for people who are out of combat to "no-target" in order to get the speed "buff". Other buffs could include crafting bonuses (you work faster when your weapon is away, and a tool in your hand) - and could perhaps, shorten action timers. And I'm just mentioning a few ideas, but you could even expand it further. Sheathing would be great! And by the way, I'm not suggesting that this be added ASAP. Its a cool idea, but I am sure there are other things that will be prioritized. This would just be a cool little perk sometime down the road with this game. So, Wurmians, what do you think? Should weapon sheathing be a thing? Post what you think below!
  16. As the only other owner of this item, I agree. It is priced that much. There are only two of them, so arguably one of the rarest items in the game. If you're not happy paying that, then dont buy it (:

  18. I like the idea of feed troughs/mangers. If its a problem with PVP, make it PVE only. Its a shame how much potential goes unfulfilled in this game because "it would make pvp less ideal", when the reality is the majority of the player base is PVE. Just my two cents.
  19. Release Discord Server

Discord is superior! Teamspeak is alright, but Discord is the future. Easier to use, nicer interface, and in my opinion the image sharing is very nice as well!
  20. For me, that is emersion breaking. Like sure, you could. But that's basically like going into the game files to find something out. I compare doing that to going into the code to find out what title you get at 90 skill or something similar. It detracts from my experiance of the game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe its just me.
  21. "Trade Record, Leather" I suggest that there should be an item in-game that tracks transactions your character makes with other players. Example: A few weeks ago, I purchased some sprouts from the in-game trade channel. It was a good deal, and I may be interested in more, but I have no idea who the trade was with. In real life, I could go back into my check book or online transaction summaries and see who I bought them from. In game, no such feature exists(aside from physically recording it in real time). With an item like this in game, every time we accept a trade a record of it would be recorded automatically for future reference. Features: -Records the name of the person you traded with -Records what you gave, and what you got -Records the time and date of the trade -Option to record manually via papyrus/reed for bulk sales, etc Pros: -Promotes the economy -Encourages individual merchants to make a name for themselves -Adds another book-like item to the game (like the Almanac) Cons: -Records "magically" (could be interpreted as unrealistic for game immersion) -More clutter to carry around in-game So, Trade Records? Pros outweigh the cons in my book! What do you all think!?

  23. Not after that long! It's been 15 years! Your old deed is LONG gone, sorry to say. If you had money or any items, you should still have them. Premium characters never get deleted, regardless of when their premium ran out. Very curious to see if your character still exists, please post back with an update! (Though I'm unsure how you played in 2001-2002 because development began in 2003, according to Wikipedia.) At any rate, sounds like you were one of the very first players of this game, and if you can, I'd like to hear more about that! Any details would interest me! Please share!
