  1. Thanks for the info, guys. It actually is perfectly Wogical that seasons would have an *approximate* start date. More like real life!
  2. I really love this harvest time calculator... />http://schwanke.org/RandomFiles/Wurm/HarvestingCalculator.asp ...but I do find that the times are a bit off. Is there anyone out there with programming knowledge (and Wurm season knowledge) that could update this code to reflect harvesting times more accurately? Thanks!
  3. HA ha!! I would be interested to figure this out as well. I've noticed significant livestock bunching on large fields too. I thought maybe my animals just loved to rub against each other. I like the theory about water source tiles. I hope someone has some evidence to back it up. If not, any other theories?
  4. I noticed there is a new option to build a crude wooden fence gate. I started one, using a shaft. I then examined it and it said: [13:15:58] You see an unfinished crude wooden fence gate. It needs 3 shafts. I added one more shaft and re-examined. [13:17:01] You see an unfinished crude wooden fence gate. It needs 2 planks and nails. Hmmm...seems like the original examine message is not so accurate. EDIT: Also just found out you can't walk through the unfinished gate! LOL
  5. Be Warned!

Emane, thank you for posting this warning. I hope other new players see it and learn about this "feature" of the game. I had a similar problem with some players who wanted my mine. It's unfortunate that this game is biased in favour of paying players, as the free players are easily taken advantage of by unscrupulous premium members. I'm sorry you had to learn this the hard way. That sucks.
  6. Chiclet, I understand your distress and feeling of loss. Everyone values different things in games and in life. You valued a foal that skipped merrily about and it was taken from you. To all those who are basically saying "get over it", consider this: What if someone came into your property and destroyed something that you valued? It could be your 10-story building, your utmost gold mine, or your collection of pink troll statues, but you would have the same NORMAL reaction of anger and sadness. Best of luck, Chiclet, and remember that most players in this game are kind, generous, helpful people!
  7. Love this mod, Fearil. Excellent work! Once I got personal instruction on how to install the mod and find the custom blocks. it was brilliantly easy to use. Love seeing the multi-story buildings in 3D like this. I hope that this mod can remain free and available to all!
  8. Meredin

    Bravo, Garis! Looks amazing.
  9. When I fixed my wood shingle roof, it said "You fix the floor" in the event window.
  10. I'm totally interested in this too. I actually have a flag at my docks that I've renamed "does this flag turn". Yes, it does turn, but it doesn't seem to align with the wind direction like a normal flag. Anyone have any more info on this?
  11. I have a similar problem with a two-story section next to a one-story section that has a roof on it. I can't select the wall edge to plan and build a wall next to the roofed in one-story. So in the picture you can see there is an open wall on the two-story building next to the one-story roof. Probably have to rip out one of the roofs, either the one on the top of the two-story, or the one on the top of the one-story section, but we haven't done that yet.
  12. Wow, what a neat idea. I love it. But the programmers are probably groaning right now!
  13. Good question, Macgregor. Perhaps you could point out a nice area for the GoonSquad to settle besides this little island, one with endless forests of mature, already planted pines and cedars for them to cut down. Or maybe they enjoy cutting down fruit trees of little "pubbies"? Yeah, it's probably that.
  14. <Atndybeach> who deeded clay <Kawdzo> i did <Kawdzo> clay has now been deed over Sorry, Lerk. you're wrong. Yes, exactly. Atndybeach cut down all the cherries, lemons and apples, tried to replant pines and cedars. They were cut down and were replaced with cherry trees. THey were cut down by an unknown somone and left to rot. War of the sprouts! Fascinating stuff.
  15. First, Fearil didn't deed the clay. Get your facts straight. Second, we know the guy who owns Alchemist's Ring behind the Sanctuary of Fo. We emailed him. Third, I didn't build all the walls around Alchemist's Ring. I don't know who did. Wasn't me Lastly, the mayor of Light of Allah admitted to me that he was the one who turned all the land to dirt because he wanted hunting lands. Funny part is that his deed overlooks a giant desert full of scorps.
  16. Gosh, Lerk, enhance your calm. And Royal, you're a goon too, so of course you think deforestation and greed are improvements. But the other inhabitants have different goals that you, so your actions and the actions of your friends are seen as disruptive to the seclusion and peace of our small island. I am but one inhabitant of seven on the isle, not including your group. Yes, there are 7 real people on the island that are not part of your "goons", who have lived here for months before you came with your "industriousness" to an island full of trees you hate and hippies you hate and limited resources. Doh, there is whole server full of pine trees, yet you come to Cherrywood Isle?? Laughable. Anyway, that forum is just more evidence that these people came in to deliberately destroy land and "win", as they put it. They reveled at our dismay. They openly rejoiced at their retaliatory tactics. Sad, sad, sad. And of course, they spin everything by quoting partial conversations, ignoring the many times the island residents attempted to negotiate, including the endless patience of Fearil, who tried to mediate when things got hot. [15:11:35] <Fearil> I think the main issue is that theres no communication between the new people on the island. I was really appreciative that Reaganomics left the sand area to me. [15:11:52] <Fearil> My main goal is trying to stay aloof of the drama thats going on with Northern Lights/Oakheart [15:12:58] <Fearil> Which is why I'd just really like if we can all just agree to leave this chunk and the area East of the main N/S highway out of things. [15:13:22] <Fearil> And if theres communication, clay access shouldn't be a problem And finally, here they are in all their glory, the trolls that the mayor of Light of Allah placed in front of my deed enclosure, even after I asked him to stop building them. This is griefing, dear forum readers. Right there. Tell me you wouldn't be angry too?
  17. So think about your own deeds, where you live, where you've settled. You chose that place for a reason, most likely the resources, but possibly the scenery as well. Now imagine that you log on one day to find that GONE. Let's say that you settled in a lovely valley full of pines. You love pine trees. They look nice, they're a great source of wood, and they hide your little house from the neighbour's prying eyes. Plus all your neighbours in the valley love pine trees as well. It's peaceful. Then one day you log on and the pine trees are all cut down. Nothing but barren grasslands meet your eyes. Oh, and a giant 8-story building called "Death to Pines". What would you do? Would you just shrug and let it go? Would you be able to walk out your front gates and be happy seeing only raggedy grass and brown buildings, instead of the majestic swaying pines of a deep forest? And what if you saw these people doing this elsewhere in the valley, continuing to change the landscape you loved into something you hate? What if they were planting (gasp!) cherry trees?? Would you ask them to stop? Would you ask them why? Would you get angry? Please refrain from judging me until you imagine what you would do in my place. We all love Wurm and we love our settlements. When we settle somewhere, it is for the unique properties of that place. My virtual home, the lovely green forests that I walked through gathering mushrooms and avoiding spiders, it's all now dirt and patches of steppe. Sentimental? Yes. And why not? That's what makes Wurm so great. I felt like I had a home here. Or at least I did.
  18. Lerk, I don't know who you are, but I am not Inspira or Vitrelle, if that's who you think I am. Besides, why would I lie on the forums? That's just dumb. Everything done in Wurm is logged. The GMs and devs can just go find out who did things, easy as pie. And that's what I'm asking them to do. Come in, mediate a childish dispute that is escalating more every day, and enforce the Freedom Code of Conduct. I do not own a deed. I am not a premium player (yet). I have not stolen anything. I have not cut down trees on other people's property or perimeter. I am simply trying to preserve the beautiful forested island that was my first home on Wurm. Yes, I understand it's a community game. Yes, I understand the rules. And in fact, about 80% of the people I've come across in this game are lovely, friendly, helpful people. Perhaps that's why this situation is so distressing.
  19. Please don't accuse me of things I didn't do. Once again, listen carefully cuz I think you're a little slow: 1. I did not deed over the clay. That was another resident who was worried that you would deed it first and restrict access ot all the island residents. 2. I did not build a fence across the island. I don't know who did that, but I imagine it was someone who didn't want you to cut down their cherry trees. 3. I did not turn the island to dirt. I would have planted trees, because I want MOAR trees, not less. 4. I did not call a GM until a player put 9 trol statues in front of my enclosure just to make me mad. 5. I am not racist and I have never made a racist remark. 6. I did not take your cart. You want more complaints? Who cut down all the fruit trees and then planted pines and cedars on an island named Cherrywood Isle?? (Doh if you wanted pines and cedars, there are many places on Cele that have them growing wild, silly.) Who named their boat "moist ######"? Who named their building "Shithouse"? Who named their building "Dong Harem?" Who took the two brown horses by Flamewrath? Who just today cut down an entire apple orchard (plus about 20 other trees) to place a single mine entrance? (The trees weren't in the way, you cut them down out of spite.) And who turned the island to dirt?
  20. I did not turn it to dirt. I did not deed over the clay. I don't have a picture of Cherrywood Isle before they arrived, but as you can tell from the NAME, it was forested in Cherry trees. Dont' let this group of shameful people fool you. They've been nothing but disruptive and immature. When I built an enclosure, they put a line of troll statues in front of it just to make me mad. When they didn't have any trees to build with, they cut down the trees on everyone's elses perimeters. They regularly fart and use other negative emotes at us. We asked them to stop. We asked them to stay to one corner of the island and leave the other residents alone. They have not listened.
  21. This is what some selfish and immature players have done to Cherrywood Isle in Celebration. This used to be all trees...and this picture doesn't even show half of what they've done. If this isn't "destroying land for no good purpose", I don't know what is. There were seven regular residents on the island when this group moved in. Before they arrived, we were living relatively conflict-free. Now we are scared to log in to the game because of what we might see. We have asked them to stop. We have asked them to stay in their area and not expand further. They have not listened. In fact, most often they simply mock us. We have contacted GMs, who say if it's not on-deed, it's fair game. This is perfect situation where GMs could enforce the Code of Conduct. They are not breaking rules, but they are causing pain and distress to the other inhabitants nearby. The new arrivals to Cherrywood Isle are a disgrace to this game, and make the GMs look like spineless fools, and make the game so unappealing that several of us want to quit. This is just one example of the bad behaviour, griefing, and immaturity that they have demonstrated. There is much, more more. I am equal parts angry and sad at what has happened on Cherrywood Isle. Yes, I have cried over a bunch of pixels. I have raged over virtual trees. This felt like my home in Wurm, and now it's been desecrated. What can be done?
  22. Sorry, not sure where to post this. I'm trying to use the Blvd Media Coin Mine, but all I get is a blank white page in my browser. I can see the first page where you choose an offer, but the subsequent tab that opens up is blank. I have tried on Chrome and IE. I have disabled pop-up blocker. Any suggestions? Does it only work on certain browsers?
  23. There is a single birch log that won't go away. I pick it up, it goes in my inventory, I put it in my cart, but the log is still on the ground and I can pick it up again. Took me a bit to figure out it wasn't a pile of single logs!
