  1. You can, but bashing and rebuilding an entire house because you lost the keys (writ) seems a bit over the top.
  2. +1 People that are going to macro are going to figure out a way to macro regardless of how hard you make it. All this is doing is punishing the rest of us for something we weren't doing to begin with.
  3. Why not allow us to make a specific bandage item from rags or cotton? The finished bandage should work substantially better for healing than raw rags would to compensate for the extra time required to make them. Possibly it would also use a little less of a bandage (since you are creating an item specifically designed for bandaging wounds) to bandage a wound of a particular size.
  4. Anything to make a mayor's life easier would be very nice: Ability to unlock on-deed containers without having to lockpick Ability to rename or destroy on-deed containers (currently BSBs can only be destroyed by the creator) Ability to recover writs of on-deed houses. Or just have a master set of writs accessible through the token. Ability to flag tools and other items as deed-owned so they could be recovered from inactive characters
  5. While this is a bit OT from the OP, I want to add to this. I like your idea of requiring something be 50% damaged before it can be salvaged under most conditions. However, I think the named creator of the item, as well as the mayor of the deed an item is on should always be able to salvage, regardless of damage to the item. It would still prevent griefing, but would add more functionality to the idea.
  6. I am fairly certain this is not true. I have ground the same skill for 2 or 3 hours at a time, and gains have always been fairly constant over the whole grinding period. There were however a few skills (notably digging) that would stop gaining entirely after about 30 to 45 minutes, however, that bug has been fixed in a recent update.
  7. Make sure the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust, and that the fan is spinning well. If you can easily stop it by putting your finger on the hub, it probably needs replaced (don't stick your finger into the blades, they hurt). Some of the stock CPU fans coming in some of the big name manufacturers computers are a bit undersized, and might need to be upgraded to something a little more appropriate for the CPU. You don't need to get fancy with water cooling or some giant monstrosity of a fan to keep the CPU cool generally, but something a bit larger than some of the stock fans might be a good idea.
  8. After several hours of digging yesterday, this fix appears to be working. Thanks so much!
  9. Thanks, I will test it out on a big digathon and let you know.
  10. While vertical planks are rarely used in modern construction, vertical planks over horizontal perlins was a VERY common construction method in the middle ages, which is about as close a comparison to real world settings as you are going to get with Wurm.
  11. I had a similar problem at one time and it turned out to be an issue with AVG's antivirus software.
  12. Next time you are digging, do so with your skill window up, and watch the gain. After about 15 or 20 minutes of digging, the skill will still "tick" and turn green, but there will be no gain. Then after another 15 or 20 minutes, it will start gaining again.
  13. Decay

-1 to 3x decay off deed, at least for Wild. It would make it more difficult than it already is to maintain a nice peripheral area outside of your deed, which many of us do.
  14. While I like this idea in theory, if you are going to nerf current dirt wall/longhouse designs, you need to give us a practical alternative. Yes, Mr. B, I know you are working on castle walls, but they are not in yet. Nor does it appear I am going to be able to stand on top of them and defend anytime soon, which means they are really rather pointless. So, +1 to the basic idea, -1 to implementing it without providing a viable alternative.
  15. It seems like you have scaled the wood texture down a bit compared to other items. Is that the case, or just the angle we are seeing that particular object from?
  16. Can't really see any reason not to allow one or two non-consecutive spaces. +1
  17. I think just allowing seeds to be combined, and for sowing to just use the appropriate amount from the pile, would be an easier way to go with this.
  18. take another

There fixed it for you. I am still enjoying Wurm and the freedom it allows me in building things.
  19. Yeah, from 20 tiles (80m) should be roughly 1.5 - 2 seconds.
  20. This is a repost, since the old Bugs forum was deleted in the server layout changes. Digging skill stops gaining after 20 to 30 minutes of digging. You then must wait about 30 minutes before you can gain digging skill again. The digging skill in the skill window continues to turn green periodically as if it were gaining, however, there is no actual gain during these dead periods.
  21. I believe Yahoo and Hotmail both use their own IP reputation scoring systems, so it may take some time before delivery to them is reliable. I checked senderbase and a couple other places online, and it seems the IP in question has never been used to send emails, so it has no reputation currently. Might want to make a note somewhere that people clicking "Not Spam" on the registration emails will help with future delivery of emails, as that should tip off the filters at yahoo and hotmail that those mails are legitimate.
  22. Depends on if they ever bother to update boats. Boats could really be impoved and given more fuctionality. There have been suggestions in the past to be able to trim the sails, in addition to just tacking and stuff, to give it a more team feel. I think there should be an option to join as "Crew" instead of just passenger, for some ships. For the Small Sailing ships, perhaps 2 crew that can trim sails and depending on their sailing skill, it will reduce the trim timer. For something like the Cog say have around 4-6 crew members. In addition for ships that are supposed to operate diffrently like the Knarr, everyone who joins is crew, and has the option to "Row" and only the commander can "Trim" The speed boosts should be very small, and only a large advantage with a larger number of players or higher sailing skill. Depending on the wind direction, the ship should be harder or easier to trim, and the success rate of your action depends on that. Trimming into the wind should be harder, and be reflected as such. Example: Battlepaw starts to trim the sails Battlepaw trims the sails and the vessel speeds up Battlepaw starts to trim the sails Battlepaw fails to trim the sails Also, it should give you body control as well, and can be a good way to help grind it as you sail. Rowing in a Knarr or Rowboat should give body strength instead Battlepaw puts more effort into rowing the Knarr Battlepaw fails to row the Knarr faster Battlepaw puts more effort into rowing the Knarr Battlepaw rows the Knarr faster
  23. Well, maybe if we ever get material properties on items, we could add a few more allows (like silver and lead to make pewter). Then there would be more uses for all the metals I would think.
