Interesting it seems that your IP is blocked. Which country do you come from?
  4. Sklotopolis - PVE

No idea, what happens when you open the following URL https://skloapp.michielbos.net/ ?
  5. There is no head splitter axe in vanilla Wurm. Must be a mod on the server you play on, so best to ask the server staff.
  6. The server will always also be visible in the LAN tab if it is in your local network. If the server is correctly set up for Internet it will show up in the Internet tab additionally. When the server is visible in the LAN tab it does not mean that it is not on the Internet as well.
  7. Goodbye

You have been a true rolemodel for me in my early days in Wurm. Thanks for everything

Ship transporters are now loadable and so can be transported cross server by all players. The bug causing Ivan priests and followers not to gain alignment during sermons should be fixed. Christmas present 2022 has been added. Christmas will start on the 23rd of December at 4pm CET. Shop items can no longer become rare with the help of strange bones. The DNS of sklotopolis.com has been switched to another provider.

  11. Sklotopolis - PVE

Happy Birthday Sklotopolis - 7 years Today we celebrate 7 years of Sklotopolis, I never expected this server to last for such a long time. Seven years ago Sklotopolis was just an almost vanilla world, which hasn't got any of the great features we are using today. Many hundreds of hours have been put into developing more than 100 different mods turning Sklotopolis into a unique place to play. Even after all this time a big bunch of our features are still unique in the Wurm universe, nobody else has been able to adopt our wide variety as of now. Thanks to the great team behind me for helping manage the server, without you Sklotopolis wouldn't be where it is now. And of course thanks to all our players for turning this project into such a big success story. I am looking forward to the next years, we still aren't finished, and there are big things to come.
  12. Randoms in Wurm

In my opinion the usage of TRNG vs PRNG in Wurm does not matter, because due to the amount of players and actions carried out with the random number generators predictions of action results are not possible. TRNGs are mostly meant for cryptography. As far as I know everything in Wurm that is not predictable uses RNG, so it depends on luck I would say? Since RNGs in Wurm are practically not predictable.
  13. Randoms in Wurm

The problem with randomness is that such "clusters" are also completely random in size, appearance, disappearance and cannot be predicted without knowing all data of the server. But they exist and are absolutely normal in random number generators.
  14. Randoms in Wurm

Not sure if I understand what you are looking for, but let me try: (Almost) everything in Wurm that can succeed or fail is based on the Java PRNG which is the Random class mentioned by me already. If your question is can everything in Wurm be predicted, then the answer is yes and no. In theory yes, you can predict every success and fail of every improve and creation action in Wurm and you also can predict every result of the /random command long before the execution. In practice no, you would need to know the exact amount of actions that have been calculated by the RNG before and also need some additional information you just can't get from the server.
  15. Randoms in Wurm

Java Random class is used. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.geeksforgeeks.org/java-util-random-class-java/amp/ Which is not a secure random number generator at all. However, I think people misunderstand what random means. It does not mean "even distribution". So failing 5 times in a row at a 50% chance is something that can and should happen with random numbers. 50% chance just means in an infinite amount of tries every second attempt will succeed. A true random generator or secure random generator is mostly important for security purposes with data encryption and such stuff but it will not help the Wurm gameplay.
  16. +1 this problem has been reported by some of my players too. Must have been introduced by a recent linux update.
  17. Sklotopolis - PVE

Update Fixed a potential way to crash the server. However, to fix this problem we had to remove some non thread-safe communication code. If you experience any new issues after this update please let us know.
  18. 10 fountain backpacks and 3 fountain pans on deliverance sold for multiple gold coins
  19. Let us know how you decided. I should have the time to move it away from AWS to make sure it can be hosted easier starting from mid October. Definitly willing to try if you have no one who is fitting better.
  20. Well that is quite a technology stack. I know most of that stuff and also dealt with Ruby on Rails in the past. But the time needed to set this all up and become familiar with the setup on AWS is huge. I still have like 6 weeks off until the end of the year so I could come up with the time. But honestly, with the huge number of people offering to become the hoster of niarja, I think the fairest option would be to upload everything to GitHub and whoever can host it stable first should be the person who continues running Niarja.
