  1. I'm not interested in having multiple transactions and as such I'm not going to split this up into smaller amounts. Thanks for understanding. Verified Paypal only please. Contact via forums and transaction will happen through the character Seancarl.
  2. lol, right, that's where I got confused. Here I thought I owned the pixels on Rolf's servers. Thank you for clearing that up. I guess I wont be taking my toon, deed and traders with me to Archage after all.
  3. Indeed it's a risky investment, but it really shouldn't be. I don't know why we as players don't expect more from him in regards to this. It isn't like the silver used on these things doesn't have a real world exchange. In some ways, it demonstrates a lack of respect for people's money when he changes these in game items like that are toys, which of course they are in a sense, lol. So, I share your disgust for these behind the scene mechanics that are purposefully obtuse which cost players real money. I'm waiting for the day when online games will be regulated and governed like real world business are when it comes to consumer protections to prevent developers from scamming their customers.
  4. Not everyone who owns traders now have been playing for years. There might have been folks who bought a trader last month. And I agree, technically it isn't advertised as a way to make silver, but that's how they are used regardless. So, while you wouldn't win in internet law land, people should have some reasonable expectations to at least recover the money spent because of the mechanics that Rolf put in with these things. And again, it's not a privilege when it costs money. Maybe we're just arguing semantics here, but anytime I buy something available to everyone, it's not a privilege (privilege: a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group). Trying to label people as "greedy" or "privileged" for using the system that Rolf put in place for whatever reason HE saw fit demonstrates your bias and makes your argument a lot less effective.
  5. Privilege? A privilege that costs 50 silver. As much as I agree that Rolf was generous in allowing those who wanted to pay 50s up front for some long term investment, he still required that investment. So, if he were to just shut it down whenever, he'd really be screwing over those who paid for their traders, especially those who haven't even recovered their investment costs. I don't know where the idea of traders came from in the first place (was it's Rolf's idea or did players at the time suggest it?) but don't pretend that Rolf is just hooking some players up at his cost. He did this because he thought it made sense in one way or another. He created whatever dependency on trader coin that may or may not exist in order to help his game, and as such, needs to at the very least talk to the players and let them know what is going on if he decides to shut the whole thing down. I'd expect he'd compensate the people who made that investment as well, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
  6. No explanations, no reasons, just a hard removal of a long used mechanic. It's out of character for me to post anything like this, but this change out of the blue really irks me, and I rarely used the mailboxes in the first place. It's no wonder this game has never taken off, and I can't ever see that happening with the flippant way decisions seem to be made. This is just one of many that just seem to be nonsensical, and almost vindictive. Realism? How can that be used as any explanation in a game where there is magic, dragons and demonic dogs. Give me a break. A terrible decision and a terrible way to communicate the change.
  7. Anyone who wants NPC's to do fighting for them probably shouldn't be on a pvp server in the first place. Just saying.
  8. This month I had one trader with 17s! Then another with 3.5s. Primed the same way for both, and neither saw any other activity. The one that had 17s usually has ~7s.. not sure what the hell is going on with these things. Oh, I also noticed now they can make change. It used to be once you drained it, you needed exact change to buy, but now it seems to have infinite change. That's a real nice change. What's clear is they have been messed with in some fashion.
  9. please COD: Iron Hatchet (WoA69) 80.15ql, 60c to Seancarl. Thank you
  10. Count us in: Seancarl: 72 FS, 2h Sword Journeya: 71 FS Huge Axe
  11. I got the logs together that you asked me to, but you weren't online when I went to deliver on our agreed time. I am Jacks deflated happiness.
  12. I have a HotA's Demon statue named Preston who has worn out his welcome. He's been eating up all my meals, combining my low ql silver with the high ql stuff (on purpose!) and being a general pita. He's currently sitting around my house in his demon underwear, which he hasn't changed in days and threatening to use my nice Fo alter as a toilet. I've had to throw out the CoC water already. You can have him for 12s, which will go towards repairing the damage he's caused. Maybe you can work with him and get him to act a little less, demonlike. Location: Lothloriean Meadows, Indy. 49x, 14y.
  13. Well, for what it's worth, my title showed up. I checked the twitter list and saw I was listed, re-checked my titles and now it's listed. Not sure why it took time to populate.
  14. That seems like a pretty good example of griefing. Who was the person who did this? At the very least, we should know who needs to be KOS'ed.
  15. Same here: [20:05:39] You cut The venerable red dragon deadly hard in the stomach and slap it. No title
  16. Who exactly was championing a "big huge server"? Who even wanted a new server in the first place? The whole idea just seems misplaced and odd, and not very well supported with current traveling mechanics. For those saying "Well, nobody is making you travel, stay put if it bothers you." Great, so now the community can see even less of one another. The community is becoming more and more fractured, and with current traveling mechanics, it's not going to get better any time soon. As much as I would be bothered by this idea, maybe Rolf should just shut down all other servers and make everyone move. Or maybe I'm wrong, and now that we have all this server space Wurm can finally advertise properly and take on the plethora of new users!
  17. Maybe if it had some sort of skill gain attached. A ton of things in Wurm take too long, but at least the more you do something, the faster/better it gets. And realistically speaking, sailing isn't something that is just dependent on a boat. The same could be said about driving a cart or even riding a horse. Either way, the OP has a point. I'd be interested in visiting other servers, but I'll be damned if I'm going to drive boats to them.
  18. So, a resident dwarf recently passed through and all of the marble veins suddenly ejected itself onto the ground, leaving me with 20k+ marble shards currently rotting away in bsbs. If you wanted to pave your entire deed with marble, I can hook you up. 10i per shard. Iron, i meant iron. But then again, marble sure is fancy, lol
  19. You could be right. Initially I thought it would be every unique. And yes, I bet some folks will get annoyed with smashed walls and being camped by a unique. This might really be much of a problem in the short terms as the hunters seem to be frothing at the mouth for some loots.
  20. It's a sad story really. He did get visitors from time to time, but he spent most his time staring at the edge of a dirt wall. His maker decided he had enough and decided to set him free. But not before filling his pockets with highly coveted and sought after items. Was this supposed to be compensation for being wrongly imprisoned, or part of the makers tragic joke? For when the towns folk of Indy discovered he had finally been released, it wasn't long before they sought him for the very items he'd been blessed with. Steve was truly institutionalized, deciding to hang about the same area where he was once imprisoned. He even killed a few folks and smashed some walls, perhaps in a plea to be sent back home. But, there was no going home. Deciding he'd had enough of this world, he charged willfully into the waiting swords, axes, and foul tempered rabbits before him and was given his long desired release. With the last of his life force draining from him, he scratched into the dirt "Steve was here". We'll meet again someday Steve. In about 20 days by my estimation.
  21. That's not a bad idea, but, lets see what Slickshot wants to do once everyone is in the same area.
  22. Thanks mods for cleaning up the thread some. I had written something to try and calm things down a bit, which seems largely unnecessary now, but I'm sure some folks are still a little raw over it. So, I'd just like to add this, for my own peace of mind. Remember, these aren't the uniques of old. These are respawning uniques. Ole Steve here, if he dies Saturday, he'll be back in about a months time. If someone steals an item off the corpse, we'll know via logs. We might not have any real recourse, but at least we'll know and can do something different next time. Personally, I was going to give EVERYONE the benefit of the doubt. Lets give the published loot rules a chance to work. Focus on how awesome it'll be to see a sea of tents on the steppe like it's some sort of Wurm Woodstock. Or how funny (or annoying) it'll be when FNGnoobkins tries go to all Leroy and gets punted like a fotball. You know, if we try and have a little fun, we just might have some on accident, loot or no loot. It could work. Oh, on the subject of dropping deeds? I think it's overkill. Going forward, I think it'd be a real pain to keep dropping deeds every time there is a public slaying. Lets treat people as if they are trustworthy and maybe they will act trustworthy. Bottom line, I'd like this to be the first of many public slayings on Indy. But, I'm going to need everyone's help to prove to each other that it can be pain free.
  23. Ah, thinking positive, like we can actually succeed this time! I like it!
