  1. As you say, it's a small map, you can get across it relatively fast and as such can become familier with it quite easily. I don't think we really need a map dump. Look at the current player made map, explore your current area a bit and you'll get an idea of the scale. I don't see there being an issue.
  2. Well if jewelry is only worth small amounts, most people coming over will have some cash (probably from buying 1 month and 5 silver to start with) or they can trade for a few iron or coppers. Imagine that 12 necklaces takes you to within 3 iron of whatever it is you want to buy. Then go to the token, get out 3 iron and bob's you're uncle, you don't need to spend lots of your new money on the item, just a bunch of stuff you brought with you from GV. It makes sense to me.
  3. Not in the slightest, they're within my locked property. As I've said, I'm NOT asking for them to be destroyed, but I'm pointing out how long they DO last. I've not been griefed with paving. Someone else asked about it originally and I'm defending what I believe is a good request.
  4. It was an area that people could walk on. I've fenced the area off as I want it as a paddock, but I can't use it as I want until the cobbles have decayed - the fences will be staying after they've gone. And even if they weren't, QL 1 fences will decay in about a week at the most for definite unlike just the 'chance of decay' that pavements currently have. You don't get it do you... We don't want everyone to have the ability to destroy them. You can't grief people by putting down pavements in premium, because people can dig them up again. However, because currently no one except GM's can take out pavement in GV (and they have quite enough issues to worry about), peoples plans can be griefed by people laying paving slabs.
  5. You reckon? I've got some cobbles fenced off that haven't been walked on for 2 months...
  6. You keep suggesting it'll take up all their time. That's the point, it's not so extensive, but it takes a LONG time for slabs to decay, much longer than say a bit of fence griefing so it would be a useful ability for some to have. It doesn't matter how extensive griefing is, it should be dealt with.
  7. That's not what was suggested... It was to remove paving placed for griefing purposes. That doesn't happen very often.
  8. ok, thx for that bear in mind that 5c is still a lot to a GV noob who's only used to seeing iron 20 coins
  9. Someone could set up their own bank in wurm and run it as a bank in real life - trading items and hoping values change etc. and offer interest on your investment, but I wouldn't bank (heh, sry for the pun) on it happening.
  10. I was thinking more of selling/trading with other players, but thx all for responses so far.
  11. I assume this interest would only accumulate while the player is paid up on premium... Otherwise you'll end up with a billion alts buying 1 month premium and 5 silver, then leaving it for a year and coming back to a fortune...
  12. Well money goes with you in your bank account doesn't it? And what do you mean by 'and then the rest'?
  13. If premium players could add any suggestions they feel are worthwhile additions to the items I've listed above, this should help us players coming over from GV getting a good start on premium. If there are some items that sell well on Freedom but not on Wild, and vice versa, I can make seperate lists. It would just be nice to have a comprehensive list on the forums rather than people shouting out any old nonsense in PA Help and Kchat. Also, if you could include rough prices we'd expect to recieve over there - that would be really helpful. I'll update my first post as we go. Oh, and of course let me know if I've got anything horribly wrong in my first post
  14. Suggested items to take to Premium: - Basic tools, although if you're joining a community, you're likely to be provided with high QL tools with spells cast on them. Ask the leader of the town you're heading to what you're not going to need to bring with you (If you planned before you went). - General everyday items (pans, bowls, water container, rags for bandaging, butchering knife, fishing rod etc.) - Seeds are light and will be allow you to set up a small farm once you've settled. - If you wish to have a cart as soon as you arrive on the far side, you can carry an unfinished wooden cart with the final required component in your inventory. You can then finish building it on the far side. - If you are going to be settling on your own somewhere rather than in a community, ensure you take some basic building stuff such as door locks, nails etc to allow a quick and safe build. - Items to sell/trade, see below. The following will sell relatively well on Premium (well, better than anything else you can take through!) but dont bank on getting more than a couple of silver in total for all the stuff you might bring over unless you really load up on the gems. Note that the merchants are generally broke, so expect to trade with players.: Gems (10 to 20 QL, you won't get anything for lower than 10 from other players). Gold and silver necklaces are light and worth around 10+ copper each if 20QL (If you can find a merchant with some cash)! Salt (1 copper or so) Very high QL pelts (80+) Hides or leather. Leather is lighter by 4 times, but harder to keep a high QL on GV. Don't forget you'll also have your referal which you can sell on these forums for around 10s There are a couple of comprehensive lists on page 3 (posts 6 and 7) that include suggested skill levels that you should reach before heading to either Freedom or Wild.
  15. LMAO (although we can't see the individual wounds). Time for a hunting trip it seems
  16. What about all the terraforming you'd have to do and new mines you'd have to create as the land would change completely. A reset would also result in a lot more wild animals around, so if you had no armour etc, you'd struggle to stay alive botonizing etc. It depends on how it was done, but I still think it's a bad idea. However I've explained why in previuos posts, so I won't go through it all again.
  17. I'm on the side of Damass (although I ended up skim reading much of that block of text...). I know that if bi or even tri-monthly resets came in, I'd be off. I might possibly be back to go premium when I get a job, but when that happens, I don't even know if I'll have time to play. Oh, and I think the major issue would be for those people who are there for the long term and thus able to help new players so much. Can you imagine having to botonize all your farms from scratch again while remaking your armour and weapons etc etc. Even with no skill reset, it would be a month before we're established enough to be able to provide the materials and assistance currently offered.
  18. Can we also have a 'Game correction' forum for those of us that gradually get more and more irritated by little things like 'unstringed' bows instead of unstrung?
  19. With what? The thread title? The people saying no?, Those who want one reset but with some fundamental changes, or those that want regular resets, and if so - how often...? *sigh*...
  20. Nutter, Edinburgh (whoever took the picture can't spell ) is bloody cold at this time of year (and only going to get worse over the next few months).
  21. Is this my glass? I think not, mine was full... AND it was bigger... Now bring me another! (Shamelessly ripped (paraphrased, it's not an exact quote) from a Terry Pratchett book I think, can't remember which one, possibly 'The Truth'.).
