  1. I'm not going to get into a HUGE discussion about this because I've just had one in another thread, however, I'd like to point out that: wasn't a suggestion. A one time use item could work as it would have great value - you'd only be able to buy 4 before your tutorial coins were spent, people wouldn't grief with them due to the value. Oh, and I suspect you mean 5i, not 5S... Anyway, it was suggested in yet another thread [and I believe it's a good idea if you read through the possible ways it could be done - ie make it a one time use, and the time takes longer than diggin up a road manually - then no one on premium would ever BOTHER with buying them], not this one, this thread has a different idea, so try and stick to that point and not blast ideas that haven't even been mentioned in this thread...
  2. I tried using the search tool on the forums, but no answer was forthcoming. I believe mining up (or down) gives a difference of 20 dirts(or equivalent) so was wondering how many times I'd need to mine up to effectively get one mine tunnel higher.
  3. Bit of an epic battle... At what time does this voting end?
  4. Would probably need one or two resources such as iron fairly readily available, otherwise EVERYONE would want to settle near that, but yes, I like the idea otherwise.
  5. That's not the issue Samurai, I'll go away for half an hour, then know I need to head back, but it's annoying if I head back and find it's still fueled. And then, rather than having to stay by it, or keep running back and checking, you can just look over from wherever you might be and tell from a glance rather than having to rclick and examine. There are also times that I get engrossed in imping AT the forge and I forget how long I've been there, and my forge goes out. Would be nice to have the light go out a bit earlier as a warning or something. Anyway, it's being worked on so it's all good
  6. Thank you for those comprehensive lists. I won't copy them directly into the first post, but will suggest peple have a look at this page
  7. no, deed restriction as in can't be used on a deed.
  8. If thumbnail icons too, how many pixels are they? I'm sure people would be willing to try and design a few - for instance a big ? for a lead anchor really gets to me, I don't know why
  9. Grief on wild? You can dig up slabs/cobbles/gravel anyway there!
  10. An issue with water as wouldn't it be the container in the toolbelt and not the water itself? Excuse me if I'm wrong, I don't know exactly how they work
  11. That's why I think this idea could work. People would realise how much it costs considering how little cash you can get over there (although someone tipped me 2 copper for healing their wounds yesterday 0.0 - I almost felt guilty, but I couldn't say no ) and would not want to grief with the few chances they get when they're almost certainly going to want to use it for themselves on their own plot. And really - if they did take out a little bit of a main road, how hard would it be to make a few bricks and repair it? I know I've repaired about 20 tiles of road around where I am.
  12. Well I just voted for you (you look quite a lot like one of my housemates!) and you're currently 0.02 in the lead
  13. yup, him, and what he said 8)
  14. Funny Scam Email.

Going back to the original that started off this post, it was said the father was poisoned by business associates, then her second e-mail said this:
  15. Have a look through some older threads, noteably this one, and notice the response from one of the developers... I can't remember now where I saw it, but the same dev did mention that big things were going to be happening with farming options and graphics in the relatively near future...
  16. Even fenced off stuff that never gets walked on takes an age. I have some cobbles that have lasted for 2 months without anyone or anything walking on them. 2 vanished quite quickly, but the other 3 just sit there taunting me.
  17. Farming

You're probably better off asking this in the general forums rather than GV specifically as premium players will have much more experience.
  18. Just to elaborate, tile in this instance means slab/cobble/gravel
  19. Some things have visual indications of when something needs doing, such as fields going wonky when they need a touch with a rake, or the height and colour for harvesting time. Ok, I have a bit of a mind blank and can't think of others at this moment, but bear with me. If I'm lighting my forge, or cooking in an oven, I often want to trundle off and do something else while metal/ore is heating up, or food is cooking. Obviously there are flames and smoke when those are lit, but they will just switch off abruptly. It would be nice to have a visual clue that the fuel is getting low and needs topping up rather than running back every couple of mins to check by examining. Something along the lines of smoke but no flames (and thus no light) for the last two stages of burning? Having said all that, it is possibly only an irritation as far as GV is concerned as we can't get really high QL ovens and forges, so it takes longer for things to heat up. Would this be a nice feature to have in premium or just rather redundant as they heat up so fast over there? If it's not 'needed' on premium then scrap the idea
  20. This poll is purely for curiosity. No flaming peoples choices etc etc if they decide to post about there move here - you know, the usual The portals should make for some good roleplay stories in the other board Oh, and as an addition, It would be very interesting to hear from the people who have moved/are moving either way as to why they chose to.
  21. I was unaware that's how people define it, I did wonder why you underlined that. I was under the impression griefing is doing anything that causes grief for someone else, purely for malicious purposes. You hear it used in conjuction with someone taking someone elses tools or whatnot, and that only happens once before a complaint. If it comes to that, the paving slab/whatever causes constant harrasment by just being there, but anyway, I think we've bashed this discussion to its death. Malicious paving (I'll stop calling it griefing then...) isn't allowed, and I feel it would be useful for a select few (it seems sensible to go for PA's as they are the more experienced players) to have the ability to remove them. You feel they shouldn't because it's a privilage you should get when you buy premium. The end (I hope).
  22. eh? My point is that it's very easy to grief someone with it because the decay takes so long. What you said makes no sense whatsoever... How would fast decay on cobbles make it easier to grief people with them?
