im getting same sort of problem, mine says "Update failed! (Error:Index file corrupted or out-of-date!)" I have uptated java and re-installed wurm.

I managed to fix the problem myself. Hard to say exactly what i did to fix it. I think java was still keeping wurm in its uninstalled cache even after a clean install of java. when i removed it from its deleted program list and tryed wurm again it worked fine.

Cant load wurm, removed wurm from java cache, reinstalled java. I planted 3 trees above the water, then leveled the dirt down so it was below water. Within a day all 3 of them have gone to shriveled stage Is this known.
