    It almost feels like a piss-take because so many players pointed out that the rabbit ears and rabbit backpack took the game down a stylistic path we don't want it to run with: This. This is the direction we don't want it to go in. The game is starting to look like a point-and-click adventure for toddlers who are learning all their animals and colours.

    I think the skin is fine personally, but I also think the cute/fun skins shouldn't be part of the monthly ones; just put those on the shop.

    I had to check the monthly skin post to understand what this meant.... yup It is horrible If you run out of ideas or couldn't design a new skin, just rerun one of the old ones.

    Wurm has teleportation, how exactly is paying an npc to slowly taxi you on player-built infrastructure 'a walk in the park' or dumbing it down? This doesn't make sense to me. Heck, brand new players even get a free one time instant teleport when they join a deed, and if they do some missions, they can teleport with karma. A taxi system is more immersive, it's not a simple easy teleport, and it promotes developing infrastructure. If you want wurm to be easymode, if you want a walk in the park, if you want it dumbed down: Use summon soul

    it was unintentionally nerfed, but now is fixed for a while already. I was the one who reported it initially, but it was fixed - swing times are back to 3s on pve, only player vs player swing time is increased to 4s, not killing mobs

    I do not buy every skin and I will not be buying this one for the following reason: Wurm has an excellent art director and invariably the skins look lovely but; In my opinion, having a nest of birds on my head does not look right for the game- even if I was a teen (and i am definitely not!). I would purchase a bird nest skin- and possibly more than just one- if instead it had been applied to something like a pottery planter with the nest surrounded by the flowers. This could have made it a beautiful piece of decoration to brighten up a house or even place adjacent to village paths. Basically- and again, only in my opinion- an excellent piece of digital art but applied to the wrong item.

    Weaponsmithing is already used for it... We already need to repair and get our weapons improved quite often if they are used, no need to add unnecessary tedious stuff like sharpening besides that. What's next?

    An NPC driven large cart that travels the whole server using the highways. There would be several of them. They are like wagoneers but they carry people instead of bulk items. A newbie is given 3 free undroppable untradable tickets at character creation to take a free ride on that large cart. The character becomes invulnerable while it is a passenger on the noobwagen. The name is just for memes, not a name suggestion for the vehicle. Everyone else can also ride on the noobwagen by buying tickets from the silver shop or the marks shop (or both), which would be significantly expensive. The ticket has a 3h duration and that duration is only used up when the person is on the noobwagen. The player can embark and disembark at anytime but the invulnerability only works as passenger of the noobwagen. The player can't interact with anything in any way other than looking around and chatting while sitting as a passenger on the noobwagen. The primary purpose of this feature is to allow new players to easily and safely travel within the game to observe the game and the server they started, and meet and chat with people along the way. Unlike wagoneers, they shouldn't spam the local chat saying strange things.

    I'm hoping for the mama bird to bring one of the oldest skins to the monthly nest while the baby birds in this month's monthly skin are chirping. If you are going to run candy crush, you could also rerun one of the oldest skins for a marks points rush. Otherwise, the marks shop is going to be all hush. For this month's skin, someone needs a spanking on the tush.

    They fall occasionally, not just as a result of casting a spell. They contain known types of stone as well as new ones, allowing to create visually new statues, objects or interior decorations. Occasionally you can find a gem in them (just like there is empyrean in metal meteors), some gems are of same type as we get from mining and others are completely new. Different types of whetstones can be obtained from different types of stone - rough, medium, finishing. While type of whetstone does not matter much when upgrading weapons, it does when sharpening weapons. Sharpening weapons can be done by any character regardless of their skills, because it depends on body control. More or less: For first sharpening with rough whetstone, it gives more damage +3%, but at cost of 5% more damage to weapon when using it. (whetstone quality + body control) / weapon quality * 100% = chance of success Second sharpening with medium whetstone +6% damage at cost of 10% weapon damage. (whetstone quality/2 + body control) / weapon quality * 100% = chance of success Third sharpening with finishing whetstone +9% damage at cost of 15% weapon damage. (whetstone quality/3 + body control) / weapon quality * 100% = chance of success You can sharpen weapons with a blade such as swords, knives, but also spears, halberds, sickles, scythes and axes. To get +6% damage bonus, you must use rough whetstone first, then medium whetstone and both sharpenings must be successful. If use of rough whetstone (bonus +3%) is successful and second sharpening fails, weapon receives minor damage. Attempting to repair a weapon removes bonus from previous sharpening, so weapon is at normal state and whole process has to be started from beginning. After final sharpening and combat, weapon will receive some damage, repairing weapon will also remove bonus effects from sharpening.

    I just killed a Fierce bear, and although the live bear had a red colour tint applied to it, the dead bear model did not. The bear went suddenly from red to brown. I think this is a material colour rather than a texture issue, because the dead bear has the same texture as the live ones - just a different colour tint. The dead bear still said it was Fierce, so unless you decide that conditioned animals should revert to their unconditioned normal selves on death - it should be straightforward to please add the condition colour to the corresponding corpse. NOTE: When fixing this bug, it's worth considering the existing possibility to make rugs out of bear skins, and whether or not it will ever be possible to make conditioned coloured animal rugs in future.

    Easy way to resolve such... there's been an ingame vote mechanism in place ever since Epic wanted to reset their pvp map (reset didn't work fyi). Staff can get votes from both clusters on the matter if they wish to.

    No one cares about the economy anymore, maybe some of us did during RMT days. NFI already has insanely overpriced items, even if they did allow transfer it wouldn't cause much damage. If anything the pool of items would balance out. The truth is it only ever mattered once in the history of Wurm and that was during the epic skill transfer drama. People on epic we're trying to get item transfer allowed. That would've been a terrible idea considering how much junk and how easy it is to make rares there. That wouldn't of gutted the economy back then either but it would of made rares worth less than 50c each to SFI. All this said, I doubt they'll allow transfer because its never happened before when portals are involved.

    i really dont like to say this but its just as true as when i post it in the pvp vs pve threads as it is now. if you aren't insanely rich on either cluster in regards to rare items, silvers, etc... its quite literally just out of ignorance of game mechanics. they are incredibly easy to farm and instead of handicapping players a better solution would be to invent something that causes items to leave the economy instead of persisting permanently so the economy just didn't outright die after a couple of years. secondly the bonuses from such items are hilariously small at worst and marginally better at best. personally i don't really care, i'm just happy i can play with my friends again but im just trying to get the point across that what you are arguing about is literally pointless t. took less than 6 months from launch on NFI for my entire village to have multiple sets of rares/supremes and 15ish gold banked; so that includes skilling time. (and like the first 3 of us being obsessed with defiance) the average NFI account is probably better than the average SFI account. i'd actually wager you guys have SIGNIFICANTLY more 80/90+ body accounts than SFI does. Mostly because of an abundance of sleep bonus (it's permanently sustainable if you hunt on defiance, and hunting is one of the best stat/hr in the game), advantage of double timers because of Defiance/PVE being separate (with this comes the fact that meditation doesn't matter on PvP, many PvPers are your most hardcore grinders, so they could use POK instead of insanity like they do on Chaos which is a huge difference late game). SB on login through caffeine, not to mention the fact that for like the first year the servers were open you had no fatigue, and people were openly abusing a publicly known and discussed, reported, permanent caffeine exploit for about 6 months solid with no repercussions of any kind. (admittedly this was the same on SFI but SFI didn't have permanent sleepbonus through the methods detailed above)

    you can't creation spam moonmetal stuff due to the cost of materials being more than what a strange bone or bracelet of inspiration goes for so it's not really relevant. majority of tools get 0 bonus from being moonmetal, the ones that do you could just get a 95+ql iron one for cheaper than you could get a 85ql moonmetal one and it'd be better with cheaper reimp costs. moonmetal armor in pve is a meme. if people having a slight blue tint to them are the things that worry you in a video game that's some mighty fine materialism

    Ive never really understood this, does what someone else wears or uses impact your game play or is it simply some kind of pve measurement of who is winning the game since you cant smash each others face in to decide? If its about haves vs have nots then wouldnt this help things become more affordable for the have nots? Not that I think that would happen either tbh, people cried that having dragons as a renewable resource would tank the market when previously they had been finite but it didnt really change that much in the end either.

    I'll provide as many filter tools as is possible but the primary issue is just scale. Polling the entire database of auctions joined with items joined with the table that keeps the enchantments and other tables of extra data and doing a text comparison or regex is extremely expensive as far as database operations go. It would potentially lock the database for seconds at a time where potentially hundreds of people are trying to use it at once. So it's just not performant to our requirements. We have to use a UI that narrows the searches considerably to tackle that. Additionally we can't really inform the game client of all of the auctions and let it do the work. For the same reason we limit item stacks to 100. It's not that we can't do any single data transfer of more than 100, it's that we shouldn't do it all the time. The data transfer size isn't huge to you or me but would be too large to do at scale with larger numbers of players given the limited server infrastructure we have. Filters and what you can view has to be specific and pagination needs to be used so we don't cause server lag by IO locking ourselves.
