If the team has ran out of ideas for skins, just take your time it's alllllllllll good.

The Trust alliance cordially invite you to join us at the slaying of The Young Troll King (edit. The King is now aged). Location revealed: https://harmony.yaga.host/#2263,2245 Slaying site deed is named REX SALTUS. It's in map square M18, a short walk North of Harmony Bay starter town. It's connected to the highway waystone system. The owner and finder, Vinyee, has made this a public event. All thanks are due to Vinyee, I'm only helping out. Deithor is helping too. Everyone is welcome. Please tell all your friends. The slaying will be held on Sunday 21st April at 4pm UTC. That translates as 9am in Los Angeles, 12pm (midday) in New York, 5pm in London and 7pm in Moscow. Apologies to our friends in Australasia and South East Asia, it'll be late night there. We aim to host a successful event for everyone to enjoy. Please come along early if you wish to hold sermons, or even just to take a look at the scenery. When slain, every premium player in local will receive blood. Mixing Troll King blood with source salt will create an Ointment of Stone Cutting. https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Troll_king Slaying the Troll King will give the title "Trollslayer".

I was planning on leaving this to run it's course as things seemed to have calmed down last night. However over the course of this morning, it has simply devolved into making inflammatory and negative statments intending to provoke other members of the community. I'm not planning to take any further action beyond locking this post and clearing out some of the more troublesome posts. There is no right or wrong way to play Wurm. Some people prefer to PvP, some people prefer to stick to PvE. Both are valid styles of play and both deserve our respect. Some people are new to the game and have found communities they love on both sides of the game, this should be celebrated but not at the expense people on the other side of the fence. Some people have been around for 2 decades and may have negative experiences with certain playstyles, this is also valid but is not an excuse for tarring the current community with the same brush. No player is better than another for choosing to play the game their own way. We're all here because we love Wurm, whether we agree with certain playstyles or not. Melketh (Forum Moderator)

I've forwarded your feedback and you have been heard. Future skins will be more serious.

Stop working on new content, skins, cash grabs, whole system reworks and fix existing bugs that have been in the game for 100 years. An example, which made me have the frustration to make this post is server crossing is just a train wreck. I've been sitting on the boarder for over an hour waiting for a GM to get me because my boat crossed and I did not. This is a normal experience for us that have been playing the game so long. However, a new player that spends the time craft a canoe, which is very accessible now for new players. If they ran into this same situation they are not waiting over an hour(probably longer) IN-GAME to have a GM help them. They are logging off the game and likely not returning. This is just one example of annoying game breaking bugs that for some reason are not the focus.

It almost feels like a piss-take because so many players pointed out that the rabbit ears and rabbit backpack took the game down a stylistic path we don't want it to run with: This. This is the direction we don't want it to go in. The game is starting to look like a point-and-click adventure for toddlers who are learning all their animals and colours.

Roadmap says "a few weeks" until things reach test - nearly 2 months later and not even an announcement of anything going to test...has Wurm been secretly in maintenance mode the past year?

I think you should be required to play Wurm to even make suggestions.

The silver shop skins rarely update/rotate through previous monthly skins. It would be great to have the silver shop on a monthly rotation schedule similar to the new skin release schedule. There are many previous existing skins that players would love to have but aren't able to acquire. It seems like a simple change that could help produce a bit of extra revenue for the team without much effort.

Is there an ETA for the server portals? I’m curious because the PVP side of the game would love to start planning and many are extremely excited.

Just curious how many folk are hoping to be able to travel or transfer between the clusters - if/when this becomes an option! Please let me know your opinions below, or if I've missed anything.

I do not buy every skin and I will not be buying this one for the following reason: Wurm has an excellent art director and invariably the skins look lovely but; In my opinion, having a nest of birds on my head does not look right for the game- even if I was a teen (and i am definitely not!). I would purchase a bird nest skin- and possibly more than just one- if instead it had been applied to something like a pottery planter with the nest surrounded by the flowers. This could have made it a beautiful piece of decoration to brighten up a house or even place adjacent to village paths. Basically- and again, only in my opinion- an excellent piece of digital art but applied to the wrong item.

Are you serious? So if someone paid one gold in deed upkeep and is taking a few months break, their deed should just disband? 🙄🙄🙄

Just look at all the latest pmk art. Goodbye immersion or at least following a theme. 😆 +1 for a phobia mode that lets us select and turn off particularly off-putting things we'd rather not see.

I had to check the monthly skin post to understand what this meant.... yup It is horrible If you run out of ideas or couldn't design a new skin, just rerun one of the old ones.

Heya i threw together a tutorial on how to make a cluster for wurm unlimited servers. Its more or less rather an archival functionality, because every now and then i want to make a cluster and fiddle with it for days because i keep forgetting steps and sometimes the client just doesn't like me. So if you ever wanted to make a cluster and didn't make it yet, this video is for you!

I waited a little over 158 days for my faith transfer. The second and third time I just didn't pay for one and instead depriested because it was faster to grind 90 faith again. The fourth time was a five day turnaround. Mind you, this is something you can buy in the store that is broken. it's really frustrating and I'd like to understand but as someone who has worked professionally for many IT companies, and one game company -- using my own exact example here: if a customer can pay me for the service and the service does not work as intended (not a minor bug, literally outright broken); that priority is higher than everything else EXCEPT service outages.

Ive never really understood this, does what someone else wears or uses impact your game play or is it simply some kind of pve measurement of who is winning the game since you cant smash each others face in to decide? If its about haves vs have nots then wouldnt this help things become more affordable for the have nots? Not that I think that would happen either tbh, people cried that having dragons as a renewable resource would tank the market when previously they had been finite but it didnt really change that much in the end either.

It's not about feeling pressured to buy things, it's about the fact that the game's visual identity is already hanging on by a thread. New items are imported from various creators, in various styles and with non-matching models and textures. It's a garbled mess that's gradually bleeding the game of any kind of uniformity. Eventually the game will have more shitty and ridiculous looking novelty items to define it than it has an actual semblance of identity.

An NPC driven large cart that travels the whole server using the highways. There would be several of them. They are like wagoneers but they carry people instead of bulk items. A newbie is given 3 free undroppable untradable tickets at character creation to take a free ride on that large cart. The character becomes invulnerable while it is a passenger on the noobwagen. The name is just for memes, not a name suggestion for the vehicle. Everyone else can also ride on the noobwagen by buying tickets from the silver shop or the marks shop (or both), which would be significantly expensive. The ticket has a 3h duration and that duration is only used up when the person is on the noobwagen. The player can embark and disembark at anytime but the invulnerability only works as passenger of the noobwagen. The player can't interact with anything in any way other than looking around and chatting while sitting as a passenger on the noobwagen. The primary purpose of this feature is to allow new players to easily and safely travel within the game to observe the game and the server they started, and meet and chat with people along the way. Unlike wagoneers, they shouldn't spam the local chat saying strange things.

I think the skin is fine personally, but I also think the cute/fun skins shouldn't be part of the monthly ones; just put those on the shop.

Couldn't agree more. Take a look on the monthly skin catalogue since the beginning on the wurmpedia.. Don't have to be Einstein smart to see that it really derailed and became a joke lately.. Bird hats, teddy bear backpacks, bucket helms, santa beards... oh well... to add on this, maybe scrap this monthly skin idea in general, and instead work on skins in bulk. People want character customisation options for years.. They want selection of skins to choose from for all helm types, for all weapon types, for all armor types, for horse saddles, for large carts, for anything it would allow them to customise the looks of their in-game character in the open.. Make it happen, put skins permanently in the silver shop to buy. Thank me later for increased wurm proffits

Making runes and keeping runes stored is pretty messy right now. They are sorted by the wood/stone/crystal type, then god, then metal type. Making runes is pretty annoying when you only need 1 to attach to something you need to get out all the lumps smelt them together etc., get the rune mats from wherever you keep em and make rune - try to attach - fail - go back to making - wait i ran out of mats. So my suggestion is add this new book type where you load up runes into store as many charges of a particular rune as you want, have them sorted by whatever you want and give description which does what and attaches to what (some runes attach to all types of stuff regardless of material). You open this book UI, select your rune and it activates, attach to your item and if it failed/succeeded you get the next charge activated now. Or just activate the book and on right click you would get all possible rune attach options based on what you have and the target Next level stuff would be loading up the grimoire with rift mats so that you dont have to keep em on an alt or magic chest or something. Or maybe a grimoire stand where you can keep all that stuff and then add runes to your grimoire idk. Not gonna lie the coolness factor is bigger than utility here, runes are cool. You would unlock the rune pictures as you add new rune types to your book.

Hello, With the upcoming portal system that is going to be available from starters only, I think its time we start to look at designing starter towns to be PORTAL FRIENDLY. In particular, I would like for the design of some of the towns to feature less Lawn/Accessible areas and more enchanted grass/forever grass. As I am primarily playing on Deliverance, Greendog is my main focus. There is more lawn then available enchanted grass in the starter and what grass there is is currently for the most part in a small area that already has about 10 vehicles and 20+ animals in this small 5x3ish space (From when I checked yesterday.)

Defiance doesn’t necessarily deserve PMKs, and chaos doesn’t necessarily deserve defiance-like features. We’d be unwinding the work of the devs and the community. Defiance was a concept that community agreed on before its inception. “What would an ideal PvP server look like? “ They decided on removing the junk from chaos to create a concept with a low barrier of entry for new players. Like no bags of keeping, no tomes, no war bonus, limited med paths, etc. Things that new players would NEED to be competitive on chaos. The long term solution for this is wait for the portal system and hunt on defiance. You want changes cause you now refuse to play on a server that has what you want. That screams entitlement which is what the staff have to deal with daily. Trash brought up a good point which would be to unlink Chaos from freedom if the devs decide to go down this slippery slope. Otherwise, -1. Keep chaos chaos.

Expand dyeable banners and flags (not kingdom banners/tall banners/flags) to include a variety of design layout options. Different colors can be applied to different areas of the banner/flag (for example, quartering). Designs could be extensive, including: Patterns such as chevron, cross, stripe, and triangle. Emblems, such as ball, crescent, diamond, flower, ring, star, and trefoil. Animals.

May as well just shut Wurm down with such idea's .
  40. 4 points
You seem to be missing the point . Portals are to much trouble for nothing , just merge servers and sail away . Portals are going to screw up and have to do role backs if added . Or someone will find a glitch / exploit and not report it .
  41. 4 points
Yea I really hoped it was going to work like Epic Portals, where you could bounce at will between two deeds.

Will characters coming through the portal receive a newbie starter kit of basic tools, weapon and armour? If not it might be better to create an alt. People with characters and deeds on both SFI and NFI obviously want to bring these characters together so they can work on projects on both deeds. These deeds may be miles away from the start town, and these characters will arrive through the portal, naked and vulnerable. That means the main character of that server will have to go up and collect them, or summon them in order to avoid a madcap run across the whole server without even basic tools, weapon or armour. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to allow craftable portals on deed? Most characters only need to go between two different deeds on two different servers. What is the primary objection to this?

Maybe they should just PIN this Comment on the Top of Town Square, to avoid the same old same old repetition of people that think they are contributing about something that was never, ever covered before. These 10 Points are not variables. They are constants. Valid in 1980, and valid in 200 more years, and these cover pretty much everyone that won't pvp no matter what.

April’s Monthly Skin Meet your new feathered friends: 2 little birds, who set up their nest on top of your hat! Maybe you've spent too much time sitting still and watching flowers? This skin for the green common wool hat is now available in the Marks Shop at any settlement token through April. "Companion Bird Hat - Aah, spring is in the air! Some birdies seem to have found a new home and you certainly wouldn't want to disturb them."

That is good to hear. It is unfortunate that there are unscrupulous people out there, who will take someone's horse and then NOT return it when the owner asks for it back. In the future, may I suggest you only use a Branded to your deed horse when travelling off deed. Helps to stop the scum of the earth from making off with your stuff. Kindest regards, Hughmongus

Looking forward to the Auction house, but could there not be something like a fee for delivery to mailbox (higher the further it travels) or free collection from the merchants deed to get people travelling? I love taking long trips and seeing peoples deeds, so it would be great to have an incentive to make a trip across the Wurmlands.

Short term alt growth due to people actively land rushing. Followed by long term population reduction. People who didn't get the shiny new land located close to the starter town often get envious and leave. Their previous deeds on the previous server no longer have the same prestige or perceived value, so they lose the reason to stick around. Watching Indy go from 1000 people to 120 was mortifying. Seeing my alliance dry up over the span of two weeks was mortifying. Going from constant chatter in freedom, to a ghost town - was mortifying. Xanadu was a mistake, and new servers have constantly been a bandaid over a stab wound. Deeds aren't even the main source of revenue anymore due to the lack of merchant contracts, so it won't even have the same financial impact as it used to when even tiny deeds were 10s upfront. If they're desperate for ideas on how to monetize the game without pissing off a sizeable chunk of the fanbase, there are better methods and routes to go.
