yes.. (and thanks) .. the US times is often very late night for ppl in EU and further east .. and we could call that "wierd " too 😉 The game is playable 24/7, so any time chosen will be "bad" to someone. I sometimes pass deeds that is clerly worked on, but I never see anyone there.. but they are just gaming other hours than I .. nothing wierd about that 😉

I taught for 40 years. When our school started to buy 'proper' computers rather than BBC 'A' and 'B' (The Hobbit), one of the children in my form class told me about a game that he loved playing. This was RuneScape. Other children also played so I set up a lunchtime RuneScape club. I really enjoyed playing the game myself but started to look around for 'similar' games and came up with Wurm. To start with, I could not get the game to work but thankfully persevered and have loved the World of Wurm ever since. I have had the pleasure of 'meeting' some great people in-game and they really kept me going in the early days. Sadly, these folks have largely moved on but I remain motivated to stay with Wurm simply pottering around and enjoying being the creative person in Wurm that I simply am not in real life! I have tried other games such as Lord of the Rings Online but have never left Wurm. I have no real desire to raise specific stats or be the best at this or that- maybe that is why my loyalty to Wurm remains? The efforts of our development team and all the volunteer staff have been fantastic since I started to play and I would go as far as saying that they actually create some form of loyalty between me (the player) and Wurm (the game). Some of the community help here and elsewhere is simply second-to-none and I think Wurm is fortunate that on the whole our community is a massive bonus when it comes to attracting and holding onto new players. Some players must spend their entire game-time helping others in CA with the same questions that they answer almost every single day- for that I think we must all say many thanks, because they are yet another reason why Wurm is such a wonderful experience. Now retired, I can see family and friends, travel, walk, garden, do any hobby that takes my interest but I always come back to Wurm for a couple of hours whenever possible. Are you ever too old to play Wurm? In my opinion, absolutely no and in many ways, I think older players are actually more suited to the game (sorry young-uns!) because you can actually think before doing anything or simply move at a slower pace rather than clicking so fast that your mouse heats up. As I stated in another post, I only wish that I had found Wurm earlier and that my mouse continues clicking for another few decades!

It is understandable that ship transporters have been made unloadable, as a dirty hack to avoid infinite recursive loading transporters on ship which carry transporters which carry ships ... you get it. But it is just that, a dirty hack rendering a vehicle unloadable. Consequence are lots of transporters stranded on islands (as long as there is no bridge), and transporters useless for trade. There are even rare transporters rotting in the wild. Another aspect are knarr sailable tunnels. Were ship transporters loadable, a deep water ship could just load one, having two horses either on lead or in cages (or just catch 2 sea horses) and unload, hitch, and load ship to pass such a tunnel. Would be much help for Xanadu in particular, where dual use tunnels are quite common.

Small hide shield: 1 hide 1 rivets 1 leather strip 1 metal ribbon Medium hide shield: 2 hide 1 rivets 1 leather strip 1 metal ribbon Large hide shield: 3 hide 1 rivets 1 leather strip 1 metal ribbon These are the sort of shields that mounted barbarians or nomad warriors would use - lighter than wooden shields, and maintained using leatherworking skills and tools. I think it'd be great for the game to have some more barbaric shield designs, especially if you could paint the surface and the rim differently. It would be nice if they could have a "material type" so that you could have a bison hide shield, a bull hide shield, and so on. These could be implemented as different RGB values on the surface of the shield.

The alliance Allies of Us is happy to provide a public slaying to our Wurm community. Thanks to Batraz for finding the Troll King and congrats to Tasiel, myself and Batraz for chasing, which is more like being chased, to capture the critter. He did not get trapped easily I can assure you. The date of the slaying will be on Thursday, Dec 8 at 12:00 CST. The location is very easy to find on the highway at Troll King's Rest, this is in the mideast of Cadence at J20. It's on a prior deed so there is plenty of room to set up any markets or fences. The one caveat is that we are by no means a formal hunting group, so no guarantees there will not be a glitch or two with the event. Everyone is invited to this community event to enjoy. Added info: This mine was an established mine, it goes down pretty far and is narrow, so depending on where the troll king is just be prepared to not be able to move around very quickly, there are lots of inclines. If you have a tent it's best to set it up. No horses or carts inside of fence. Everyone on foot. Please do not enter the gate area until the cave is opened, then come quick he will be a tough bugger. Although perms are set up to only allow pick up of items for alliance members, if the troll escapes and is killed outside of deed, please do not pickup the corpse allow an alliance member to take it. Thanks to everyone who has come to enjoy and we'll hope it all goes smoothly.

All servers are now on their way back up, we needed to extend our Tuesday morning maintenance a little on some short notice this morning to handle some issues that came up last night with one of our servers.

I'm always seeing ship transporters cluttering up the docks and left to rot because you just can't take it with you. I wonder how hard it would be to allow only an empty transporter to be loaded on a boat? Limiting it of course to the bigger ships.

This is a good idea that makes sense. Let's just hold off on implementing until my treasure hunting hat is finished please!

So, archeology is fun but adding something practical and desirable to it would be nice, my thought is an archeology only boat, Here is my thought on it, I'm thinking a birchbark canoe, main features being can be held in inventory while empty(no heavier then 75), can hold two people and maybe a large crate or when runed a large crate and a small barrel, come in three basic colors white, gold or red. qualifications should be moderate like a 40 ish piece arch puzzle, but moderate in raritly as well so they don't flood the market but are attainable, though my only other thought on it is that it should be a smidge faster then a rowboat, and shouldn't need anymore skill then a rowboat to sail, lets just make it cool thoughts welcome feel free for suggestions thanks sincerely Pixie

Something i haven't seen talked about in recent ages Player made logos. I know this is quite a sensitive subject seeing that players would abuse this idea but i could be something that can be bought with silver coins or marks and have to be approved by staff before being useable but i t would certainly liven up the game some seeing any time we talk about pmk stuff being brought to nfi freedom servers is a contraversial subject. this bring a whole different light to the table the logos being useable on wagons, ship sails, flag ,banners, and tabbards. Wurm could definatly use some more diversity.

I started in 2013. Fell in love with the game right away. It was magical... a pure sandbox where I could carve out my own adventures. Not to mention that this is the type of a game I had been looking for some time back then. I even started playing WoW shortly after its launch, thinking it would be like Wurm. But as we know, it's nothing like that I still enjoyed my time in WoW, but once I found Wurm - that was it. That was the home I was looking for. I quit all other MMOs just to be here. I like Wurm for many reasons. First - it's unique. It has a unique feeling and mechanics that are different from most mainstream MOOs. In the age where every MOO is trying to be a clone of one another, in order to snatch the same players away from competition, Wurm is completely different. It carves its own path. The second reason is the pure sandbox element of it. I am one of those weird people who don't mind if activities take a while. I like the value of a skill, if it took me a long time to attain. I also really like how complex the game is. It forces me to think. Most games don't. And I also love the freedom... claiming land, building what I want, how I want, exploring, having neighbors, etc. I even like that travel takes so long. I like the logistics of going to another server for a few days and the time it takes to visit a friend who has a deed in the middle of Xan. It really feels like travel and the memories of my exploration travels are some of my fondest memories of this game that are with me to this day. Finally two more things. First is the fact that over the years, the developers stayed true to the unique feel and mechanics of Wurm. The game evolves, but it never tries to mimic another game. It keeps to its style, feel and rhythm. The fact that the devs have stayed true to that over the years is a huge reason why I love Wurm now as much as I loved it when I first got here. The second is that unlike many other MMOs, I can play on my own schedule. If I have time, I play a lot. When I don't, I can go away for a month or two and if I paid my deed bills, everything is there waiting for me. This way, I never feel that the game is forcing me to play in any way. It's a true sandbox - in the way it's designed and in the way it lets me play. Pure zen. To me, Wurm is a feeling. We just click. Here is to many more years!

Get a measuring jug and set volume to minimum. drag minimum amount of liquor into jug and drink. You will regain about 5 Stam. You can do this over and over even once full thirst. Bind drink to a key for faster results and you can walk right up a mountain face using only a few milliliters if liquor.

+1 When I first saw the title I imagined a buried boat such as the Anglo-Saxon one at Sutton Hoo - which was discovered and painstakingly excavated and found to be full of never before imagined treasures! I would love to uncover a cache such as this! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sutton_Hoo

Video games are just like any other hobby, would people think you to old to play cards, watch TV, read? I don't understand the stigma against video games and how old you should be to play or stop playing them. I am 51 years young and I love playing. Its cheaper than going to the movies or out to dinner and its more social than watching TV. I hope this doesn't come across as having a go at you, I really am not. I hate that you feel like your too old to do anything. I wish you the best in whatever you decided to do Indigoe 💓

I've never met you in-game, but I have heard about the many kind acts that you have performed in PvE.. I hope that you can come back from time to time as- with respect- I disagree with your last sentence in your reply to Cecci! I am not too shy to say that I am quite a bit older than you and I still love playing Wurm. I only wish I had found it even earlier than I did. Whatever you decide, all the very best to you

Wish you great future experiences until... ...see you again! Well, a lot of active players here a decade or more older than you - I'm afraid without a proper set of shrink sessions this sneaky addiction cannot be fully cured...

The comma confused me. I thought I was going to read a suggestion for a feature that's like archaeology, but done in a boat. Presumably with a dredge. I'm behind the idea of a portable boat, as long as it just gets one player across the water.

I love the suggestion A Canoe in the inventory would be super nice, but no to allowing a large crate or barrel on it, a canoe is smaller than a rowboat and they cannot have those things, in fact neither can a sailing boat. But +1 for the idea

I personally see this as being great for pairing up those who need or want some work done with those who are looking for work, for jobs that aren't especially complex and can be described and quantified easily. It will make it easier for "need/create/gather X items" but not "need help mining veins in tunnel project", for example. Trade chat meets this need only when Player A is online and watching for Player B's announcement of work needed, and is interested at that moment to do it. Generally spamming it a few times might be enough to get it to happen, I suppose. Anyone suggesting that the forums are sufficient should hearken back to the many, many times people bemoan the fact that very few read the forums. Players looking for things to do could go to their village's noticeboard to see who needs things done. Then they pick one, as you should only be able to pick one at a time, and start working on it. On the noticeboard, the task is marked as accepted, shows a time limit for completion, and displays percent completed as the task objectives are being completed. The task creator alone is told who has accepted the task and has a very limited period of time to reject tasks from that person. Abuse on either end will settle themselves out over time. Details to still be determined about delivery, but let's assume the task is 1000 bricks. Contact your local wagoner, who understands what the task system is all about, and tell him you would like to deliver the items for your chosen task. The task is marked as "in delivery", and when the wagoner feels like it, it gets delivered to the recipient and marked "delivered". Something delivered via mail would also fit right into the task system, as the mail imps would also understand what's going on. Payment is then managed (by the task system), whether via mail or via wagoner. It won't answer every need. But it'll streamline a nice fat chunk of them.
