There, I said it. I think that on small (8km x 8km) maps, the treasure maps are balanced just about right. On medium (16km x 16km) maps, they make you go too far. On Xanadu (32km x 32km), it's a cruel and unusual punishment. Make the average distance you get sent, on medium maps, around half what it is currently, Make the average distance you get sent on Xanadu around a quarter of what it is currently These changes only need to apply for treasure maps ql 30+ - easy ones don't send you too far.

Kinda torn on this, but I have to admit that being a Xanadu resident has turned me off from doing higher QL maps for above stated reason. If I was on a smaller Server, I most likely would be doing them, but on Xanadu one higher QL map can easily turn into a full RL day of an adventure and that for the same reward people on a smaller (and thus easier to do) Server get. I don't think its worth it for me on Xanadu, specially if on a smaller Server people have a so much easier time doing them, it's kinda putting me off having to put so much more effort into it for the same reward. The System is great, I liked doing the smaller ones and I wish I would have the time to do a big one, but as is I just can't justify it. I lack the time to travel for 2-4 hours just to find one clue and then make it back home and log for the day. On the other side, yea exploration is great, I have seen more of my surroundings than ever, but maps need to be put into perspective - make the distance not scale to server size so it becomes a fair and equal game for everyone, regardless where you settle. Maps actually for the first time make me regret being on Xanadu.

Personally I prefer the og stp calculations from niarja, and out of the 15ish person group I play daily with I don't know anyone that doesn't. A lot of it comes down to the sheer simplicity of it. I don't know anyone that takes stp all that seriously but its a pretty fun tool to use between groups of friends to "compete" with each other

As the title says - make unicorns stay hitched to hitching posts and vehicles even after they get untamed. I understand that this would change the game quite a lot. Hence why people should comment here saying why or why not this should be a thing. Unicorns vs hell horses as a draft animal (under the assumption that they're equal in speed): A few consequences that I can think of: It would affect the economy (jewelrysmithing would become more useful for shoes which would make blacksmithing less useful). Unicorns would become less useless (would become an actual viable option for drafting). Taming would get another use area. (any other ones that I'm not thinking of?) I don't think unicorns would become OP with this change nor do I think it would upset the balance too much by making other things much less viable (except possibly making mules less viable but as far as I'm concerned, not many people care about those anyway :p). For riding purposes, normal horses still reign supreme as this change would not affect that balance in any way and for hitching it'd give people two top tier options (with two vastly different visual/fantastical appeal and their own particular upsides/downsides) to choose between. Thoughts?

Hi, My Flaming Skull does not automaticly light up at night and has previously been light up before. I have the option to suff it while having my metal brush activated. I was wondering if there was a way to keep them lightnup and was informed they were suppose to work like lamp on deed but mine does not. Also my Flaming Skull is on the ground, has been there since I placed it when I created it. If anyone else has this issue, feel free to post a comment Thanks for your time reading this and Happy Wurming

Does the player have the permission "Allow actions on allied deeds" checked for their role in their own deed? That setting effectively lets them count as an "alliance member" rather than simply a "non-citizen".

+1 I'm on Xan and have hunted down treasures from 1ql to 80+ql maps. The distances for the 70+ are quite daunting sometimes. Also some of the spots are not attainable without wings or spending weeks tunneling a new path up to them as the old tunnels have long since caved in. The rewards for these efforts are just not worth it.

Even given the extra effort, I think it would be a really good thing to do. Having Wurmnode become an open source project would ensure it can remain a valuable asset to the community forever, and would help more contributors to get involved.

It has made the process of creating the site so much simpler! So, quite some work to write what would be missed. Like I said, it can be done, and I can and am willing do this part.

I definitely think it would be good to have the backend and web app be open source if possible, it would ensure the longevity of the project/codebase and help to prevent what happened to Niarja (where it's too difficult for anyone else to use the code as it was always a one-man show.) How bad is it with the proprietary libraries? Are we talking about a complete rewrite or simply rewriting certain parts? If that could be done then it would be fantastic.

I hear you, and I would really like to get this done as well! It is in the plans, but time has really tighten up as of lately. I thought everything would be easier as we managed to finish our new rl chicken coop, but turns out all the tasks that was put on hold that period has piled up and needs dealing with as well. Luckally tho, there is also an open source project in the making! So, double the chances now for that one project will get there

Going to be a bit of an overload (sorry): Events / Games / and the prizes that go with them. Make sure to have a rough schedule and to make sure that impromptu events (held by your staff) are fine, but to not include any of the major prizes. Gift bags. Make sure things like the priests are not upstairs of all the smoke... really - put the forges on the top. Keep all but sleeping in the main building so priests get the max from their sermons. Have a few people (one needs to be staff) dedicated to running and managing the sermon group. Come up with a plan on how you want sermons to run BEFORE you start - and stick with the plan. Of the 10 or so imps I have been to and/helped host, 70% of the drama was from the priests and someone missing a slot or someone jumping in line. Campground & horse parking & boat parking (and imping) & cart/wagon parking (and imping). Try to make the parking nearby so that those folks don't feel left out, and can come back to help with sermons / afk safe spots from arena spillage. Off deed is fine typically. If a dedicated deed, good idea to be able to invite impers to get deed bonus & kick them out once the imp is over. Test and set perms before hand. Enchanting spot. Know what spells are cast by which priest, and what items get what spells. This gets messy. It is often the most confusing for folks looking to get that right mix on their items. A weapon typically gets: CoC, Nim & MS + something like BT or LT + a demise (assuming it isn't going to be acid/frost potioned). That is 5 different bins the person needs to move their weapon to. It gets confusing, fast, particularly for people that don't do it often (like those you typically cater to at imps). Signs and planning and doing a few trial runs help a lot. Similar confusion happens to a lesser extent with blacksmithing and weapon smithing items (cause they ain't confusing at all). Make sure folks know to bring their stuff for IMPING, not for crafting. Usually 1-2 folks are new and have honest mistakes on this, but 2+ are just.... impatient and... well, rude. How you figure out which is which and what you do should be clear up front. Decide on if you are going to allow above 70 imping, and how those mats will be distributed. Wood and leather go slow and always want to imp higher. JS and weaponsmithing is always a backlog. People get impatient for the 2-3 casters to show up. Recommended 70 ql mats for SFI (where we get an imp every 3-4 months, and our imps are 4-5 days long): Clay, stone shards, Marble, slate shards, yarn = 500--1000 Peat (or tar equivalent for fuel) = 1500 (a lot more than you should need, but running out 1/2 through shouldn't be an option) Brass, Bronze, Copper, Tin, Lead, electrum, logs = 2k Gold, Silver, leather (any QL but higher is better) = 2500 Iron, steel, Strings of cloth = 5000 Healing cotton = 20,000 (more if Bel visits a lot) Favor = 1,000,000 at a minimum. Priests are greedy with other peoples favor! If, for example, you have 1000 high ql (90) iron, don't subtract it from the base 5000. That would go in addition to as folks still need to imp to 70 first. There are other fun things that might be interesting - general how to do x,y,z; dye stations, blood mixing, etc. People get downtime at these events also and want to be productive or helpful; 3/4 imps I have been to have had places set up to do a HFC / pan fill setup, but perms were never done so that anybody could ever do so. Brick making, mortar and cordage making are also things people can do and feel useful doing. Food & water convenient for all folks.

Hello I recommend you to take a tour and check out all the current impalong sites. By doing that you can see what setups being used, and pick all the ideas you want to carry on for your. Maybe if you pick the best from everyone, add your own to the mix, you will end up with a fantastic version You would want most imp/idlestation to be close enaugh to the priests area to make sure they get those huge faithticks that really keeps them motivated atleast Most impalong has some games/activities to do now and then between the imping. Ofc its nothing you HAVE to have, but its great fun if you do. For that you might want some prizes of some kind. I am in the impalongcrew for the easter impalong on DRF, Deliverance and we are already gathering up cool prizes for next year. Our experience is that its not hard finding people willing to help donate mats you need for the imping, or even favor. Prizes takes a little more work to get settled. But again, not mandatory and I am sure you will find a way you want to form your version Best of luck to you, and if I can be at any help, feel free to message me here or Miralux in game! oh and you do want forges imped up high for imp station, so you dont have to fuel them so often.

Archery QoL is horrible. Suggestions: - Get rid of the need to queue every single shot. Make it so that once a mob is targeted, if arrows are present, you shoot until out of arrows or mob dies; like how regular melee combat works. - Get rid of the need to activate bow. just need to hold it in hand; like how regular melee combat works with melee weapons. - Give the list of arrows in the quiver a header, like multiple items in regular inventory get. That way you can drag them all by dragging the header instead of having to shift-click all through list; like how regular inventory items work. - A little less outright arrow loss when collecting arrows after the kill. Just these basic changes would make a lot of common sense and make archery much less punishing and tedious to engage in.

I believe best fitting option is missing, the.. "lol, nothing ever changes with this, why bother talk about it"; it's kind of self-explanatory, I do not see how I'd fit into any category without way to add comment of take comments into account Is there a point to this poll besides giggles and pointing at random numbers? Problem is always ignored, supported by random people who never show in private kills but always support them and people claiming there's no problem but they are present at few or more private kills, main player base remains without opinion or thinks* there's good balance.
  46. 1 point
I agree that community events are worth a lot more to the player base than private slayings. In fact, I like just about everything about the initial suggestion, except for one thing. Keep the hunting aspect. Let players search for a marker that's less obvious than a beam of light visible from across the server. Make it something like a dragon egg that glows like a meteorite (if a hatchling is going to appear), a smoking/charred carcass of a large animal (for a full dragon), and so on. When a player touches/examines/uses the marker object... start a countdown to the battle trigger the big beam of light (nicely RGB coded) award some unique points to the finder — a significant amount announce the finding in Freedom chat and with a tweet, so that everyone becomes aware of it. If no one discovers the marker within a time limit, let it decay or disappear and another can spawn elsewhere.

Question: Would you like to use a keybind or press a "swing" button for every swing you dole out in melee combat? So, why for archery? Edit: Unless you want all combat in Wurm to be much more interactive in general, then sure, make melee combat as 'interactive' as archery is. Otherwise, archery is incredibly cumbersome as it stands.

https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Category:Artifact and sub-pages could do with a bit of a rewrite "When an artifact has 0 charges left it will disappear into the ground at a random location within the week unless recharged at either the White Light or Bone Altar." not a random time, it's exactly 7 days after the artifact was dug up that it loses charges/drops, so if it was dug up at 1am on the 7th, it'll lose charges 1am 14th, 21th, 28th, etc. If it has 0 charges when it does the weekly check it drops into the ground. Recharging takes up to 4 minutes, can only be done one artifact at a time and emits a serverwide event message. Recharge charge depends on charges left in item, you'll get a message in event saying "x vibrates" each time a charge is added. WL artifacts and BL artifacts cannot be recharged at the same time, if one is being recharged at the other altar it will block you. 1 minute between charging ending and starting another charge. The spells listed are random powers, but generally really low, 30-50's, and all last for about 3m10s or so regardless of spell, except for phantasms which is always 100 power 5 mins. Bronze hammer/sword of mag - Activating gives 10 favor, if you have no deity it kills you. Mag followers do not get any special bonuses, the mag priest bonus isn't fully effective on artifact damage either. Glass ear - Chances are 33% for each to happen not 50% for nothing, requires you to be off deed to work. Gems are 70+ql, average being around 85ql. Glass mouth - Gives a excel cast for vyn followers. The refresh is the version of it that fills food+water+nutrition+stamina to 99% Orb of doom - uses 10 charges per use, backfire is based on soul strength and just kills the user if it fails, extremely unlikely to actually work. Can be resisted by soul strength. Gives event messages for using, if you're marked by it, but not if it backfires they just die. Scepter of ascension - Casts hell strength on you if a lib follower, phantasms otherwise. Kills non-followers. Rod of Beguiling - 20% damage not 10%, activating gives forest giant strength cast if fo follower, phantasms otherwise. Does not work on artifacts or mob damage. Recharges your favor bar. Kills non-followers. Charm of fo - Oakshells user if fo follower. Small chance (around 10% or so?) to summon a wild boar that's in your kingdom and will attack enemies. This is only on self-use, not when using to tame. Crown of might - frantic charges user if mag follower. Small chance (around 10% or so?) to summon a mountain gorilla thats in your kingdom and will attack enemies. Scale of lib - Small chance (around 10% or so?) to summon a wild hyena that's in HOTS and will attack you (bug? i never used it in hots to check if it's friendly for them, but you can summon the other 2 kingdom creatures by artifact in your kingdom just fine). This is only on self-use, not when using to rebirth. Phantasm's non-lib followers.
