    Thanks for the work you've been putting in @Drogos The primary reason that I used Niarja was to track skill changes over time. As I understand it, currently the only way to generate these types of graphs is via the Event log upload as WurmNode does not accept dump files like Niarja did. I am not comfortable with sending my Event logs off into the abyss; there is private information there that I would like to maintain control over - bank balances, friends lists, when you change an account's email address the address gets printed to the Event log, etc. Are there plans to implement skill-over-time graphs with the much simpler dump files? Additionally, I have some concerns over the upload process itself. I understand that the tool says it is only scraping up the Event and Stats files, but the entire directly that is to be copied over includes far more than that - hashed PW file, PMs, Alliance chats, etc. What assurances do I have that if I drag an entire player directory over to your tool that only those two file types are being consumed? Thanks again for stepping in to fill the void left by Niarja.

    First time I ever had fog on my deed, had to run around doing screenies, this one turned out rather well I think.

    The simple explanation is it was able to bypass all normal restrictions on terraforming allowing unlimited modification of a slope no matter how steep it already was , but as mentioned we are going to be raising the cap it can modify next update.

    As someone who has held fair amount of auctions, I can confirm this type of thing happens to everyone eventually. It's stressful, it's confusing but it just shows the system isn't perfect, and we're all human. I even asked staff once about one of my auctions that went pear shaped, and they pretty much said that as the person who started the auction it was my decision in the end. I find in such cases, that if the bid is late, or in dispute, you don't have to accept the bid if you decide not to, everyone comes to understand this eventually, and it's only silvers. It's not worth leaving the game over - the real value in this game is the good players like you ShamanK - not the items, they are just pixels, as others have mentioned. Come back before you are missed terribly!

    so a couple of weeks ago i took a supreme lump from 1 magic chest to place it in another chest and before i got from 1 building to the other it took almost 12 pts of damage. I didnt even leave the deed, how is that fair? it seems as though the LMC are a waste because as soon as you take an item out its going to take damage in your inventory. I guess now i know though so it wont surprise me later. I love this game but that part seems broken

    Even swapping the names around so you hover over Unlock then click the word Beehive or Large Magical Chest to confirm its that item you want to unlock would make sense imo.

    I already suggested swapping the text to make unlocking less obscure, so I support that. I do think that keeping the two-step process is worthwhile, especially considering how much trouble can be caused by a player unlocking a cart or ship without realizing the implications

    That's right, FUNK is hosting a double slay. The first slaying is of a Blue Hatchling, and will be at 2:00pm Eastern. This Hatchling was found by Annasari who wanted to share it will the community. She contacted us and we penned it for her, but all credit for this one goes to her. this is located at H-21. The deed is on the highway. Route to 'Bad Blue Hatchling' The second slaying is of a Forest Giant and will start 30 minutes after the first one ends....so think 2:45 ish. Eastern. This one was found by our own Talios This is located J-13. The deed is also on the highway. Route to 'House of the Dragon' The fun starts in: I'm expecting a good sized crowd, so feel free to come early and get in a sermon, but please play nice and respect the list.     It is interesting how they ignore this isn't it? We simply want a proper explanation for taking away what is when compared to said terrain bugs a harmless feature's fun of making giant spikes because someone had a creative fun and crazy idea out of a "fear" for something that isnt the case. For context when we could mine and dig to create the dirt/rock spikes used to catapult ourselves really far distances the tile borer lengths were 32k+ I might be wrong but isn't wurm's tile corner height stored in a int value? if so @Madnathwas multiple decades away from reaching that cap But my vote goes for 300 max height as often its used for raising rock to heights to get rid of veins plus the ability to raise rock to 300 would be really nice and save a lot of terraforming headaches on servers where the rock layer is to far down underwater for concrete to be of any use

    I love to see better weather effects for Immersion. Like when its rainy the sky gets darker and there dens Clouds. In moment when its rain i see sun and and a blue sky. (Also wish we get the real fog back 😊)

    I was mostly mining these days. Seeing the buffed fog in a relatively dark narrow mazy cave feel like something will come out from the fog and about to jump scare suddenly. It gets a little vibe of halloween. U know people use the fog machines in halloween displays such as haunted houses to generate the artificial fog. I seldom do hunting and treasure map. Deeded on a small hill. So I can only imagine fog makes the exploration maybe more challenging, and idk how people see the buffed fog from their place like high mountain, an island, swampland, etc. How did the foggy fog affect ur experience in wurm?

    I don't know if this kind of poll has been attempted yet, but I'd like to find out what people's preferences are. My Wurm seasonal preferences happen to be very strong, and I wanted to know if I'm alone in feeling this way (I strongly prefer Spring above all seasons, as it is rich in vivid and lush green color, and the softness of the grass is particularly pleasing to the eye. Next favorite is Winter. Least favorite is Autumn - something about the muted hues and shades used makes me feel claustrophobic, like I'm in a nightmare, but I felt the same way about the autumn season in Stardew Valley, so it's not necessarily the fault of the designers.) p.s.: My first experience of changing seasons in a game was in this Robin Hood game. It was the #1 reason why I fell in love with video games. I'm kinda grateful that Wurm utilizes seasons πŸ˜ƒ

    Sad all the Jackal textures, trees, new mobs, etc not available anymore. Jackal was a breath of fresh air (except for the skill reset). Why not turn Jackal into a hunting, challenge and/or exploration server that we can port to and back. We already have Lodestones to get there. Bring it back and have 1:1 skill transfers. No equipment transfers like before. No enchanted items/gear. It's a challenge server after all. Priest can wear armor and fight just like non-priest. Allow NFI/SFI servers to travel via lodestones. Be cool to run with people from other servers. Meet new friends. Can place deeds, but limited in tile size. Enough for a safe house, some horses and farm for cotton/food. Reset server map every 6 - 12 months. A different map each reset would be ideal. Starter town would have public forge, smelter and other tools available for starting out. 1 hour minimum Lodestone cool down both ways. I'm not sure about rewards if any. Maybe get some Jackal special wood to use on Freedom servers at reset. Seems Jackal skins are now bought at token with rewards. Other ideas...

    Buying Premium time for a full 12 months is equal to 60k marks. Buying 100 Silver in the shop is 2k marks at 20 per silver purchased. Due to the amount of money spent between these two I suggest that more marks be given per silver purchased. Players only need so much premium time. But it's more cost effective to buy premium for marks versus silver to stimulate the economy.

    Many of us Run Wurm Assistant that is also an executable that needs to be installed. Yes sadly time is limited. I was just throwing the idea out there.     Since the fog update, I am still waiting to see the real thick fog to see how it looks now. That used to be one fun experience! A bit scary too. Hopefully it looks at least just as good now.

    Unfortunately I have no Lunix knowledge. But if someone is that paranoid then they should not run anything on their PC. Such user will not be a Windows user because Microsoft is the worst info gatherer there is. Can always make the source opensource and publish on Github so everybody can go and have a look. I just don't have time for pet projects like that.

    why not make a small exe that parse the log files and strip out all the non skill related stuff. suck it in a json file of sqllite db to upload Then people that don't want the private stuff in the log files uploaded can feel more comfortable Json file probably better because people can open it with a text editor to make sore all private stuff is stripped out

    Then I will start with this first I have not looked at the dump from niarja yet. If it has the skills stored, then I will just do a mass import and not make csv import. If however it does not, then I plan to make csv import instead of niarja import. Yes, plan is to support this as well. I also wish the log files was split up a bit more so that it was possible to be more selective in the upload process, but that would require that Wurm logging differently or had an api. If all you want is graphs anyways, I did make an option to exclude _Event files from the upload. It is even off by default, so one has to opt in to enable it. All I can say, is that I have no other option if one wants to join in for the extra stuff that utilizing the _Event files. I am not a PvP-er, I do not involve myself in trading, and I live in a small country where my rl career and hopes of one day joining the Wurm team would probably be destroyed if I did anything bad here. I would probably also be banned for a lifetime from the game. Personally I wish to have my graphs based on _Skills file, and split by server based on _Event files. So naturally I made what I want first before starting on the other stuff. My wish tho, with using logs over dump makes to be compatible with dumps as well a bit more tricky since some might have old dumps and new logs, all mixed from different computers, etc. So, this will still take a bit of time to get in place. The client side code is plain JavaScript, viewable by anyone. I also did not obfuscate or minimize it, so it is as easy as possible to read for anyone that wants to check it at any time to validate that it does not touch password file, pm, alliance, etc. I assume that people do check it and would quickly tell the Wurm devs to put up a huge banner on the forums about it to warn everyone to stay away from WurmNode. You can also just open the browser console, and check the network activity and check there what is being sent. When dropping the files, you can see which files are going to be uploaded before confirming the actual upload. Thanks for pointing out some concerns in public!     Maybe it was just really late at night, but it took me far too long to figure out where the "unlock" was for my beehive, so I could load it. My suggestion is simply to replace "Bee hive" with "Unlock" and not have a 1 item sub menu.

    While that's common knowledge, it was a bug and was fixed with internal mining, I believe a fix back in 2020 was also attempted: Bugfix: Fixed surface prospecting showing wrong vein quality.

    I agree Historical Data is more important to the majority. I am just hoping that the CSV import gets included at some point as I had skilldumps across 9 different pcs (and tablets) and I don't have the _Skills / _Event data for some of those anymore.

    I have not decided what to work on first. I have recived the historical data for twitter messages, and was planning to work on that part first since the beta for _Skills and _Event seems to have most bugs sorted by now, and it also works with multiple computers. The way I see it, is that anyone can currently get all features working by utilizing this feature. But the historical data is unavailable to everyone until I have fixed that part. So, for me personally the historical data seems more urgent, but community might see this differently. Both should be fixed of course, it is just a question about priority that I do not have the answer to yet.

    The same issue persists on chests and had me feeling like a dummy too one day asking in ca help how to unlock and remove the lock from my chest πŸ€ͺ Why it's hidden inside a menu option is beyond me. Just another seemingly easy qol fix that is hopefully addressed.

    Niarja is offline, thanks for using it over the years! I have provided a full dump of Niarja's data (excluding user accounts and private character data) to Drogos. When he wakes up I'll discuss with him the best way to make this data available to the rest of the Wurm community long-term.

    You make a valid point. We do have everything we would need to make a classic mustard, and a few common variants on mustard, except the mandatory products of mustard plants. I feel this is something which should be remedied, for the sake of culinary completeness.

    Wow... "Fixing" Erupt because lava spikes could go on indefinitely is wrong, I remember the bugs @wipeoutis mentioning and those were so much worse than a lava spike. Hard cap it at max server height, whatever, but finding another way to stifle creativity is not the direction we should be going in a sandbox game. If you're concerned about PVP - just eliminate the ability there like pretty much every other meditation ability or keep it at this arbitrarily dumb cap. In the 15 years I've played this game, this "fix" is right up there with opening the home servers to raiding.

    Hey everyone! New tracker I suggested was implimented today by the machine like speed of Drogos. What did I suggest, I hear you ask? Tempering. Specifically, the number of failed tempers and then the total amount of temper actions you've had to do. Enjoy this window into the pain of every smith working at high quality levels, and mourn all the skillgain lost via this smithing method.

    Took a few months break (actually tried to quit Wurm) and came back to spend an hour or so repairing a bunch of stuff on my deed and inside multiple containers. Also found out magic chest is not so magical. Deeds should reduce decay on most items and items inside of storage to almost nothing. I have months of upkeep and still paying premium for 2 accounts even though not actively playing. I hate decorating my deed because everything decays and have to run around doing repair maintenance all the time. Looks cool having a half made cart next to my warehouse, but it takes huge hits of decay all the time. Have a rare anchor sitting around my shipping area for decor and it takes massive decay ticks on deed. Don't want to show it off anymore afraid its going to go poof one day if I forget about it. Or make some options if you paid for 30 days you get normal deed decay. If have 3 or 6 months or more upkeep then decay for most items should almost stop. I don't like how I don't play for a few months even though I paid for a year of premium and deed still has months of upkeep that I come back to this crap. Get penalized for not logging in doing stuff that's not fun. Only true storage option is an mule alt you've paid at least a month for already so doesn't get deleted. Magic Chests only worth it for food items.

    With a rare bone you can slap on extra πŸ’° value πŸ’° instantly onto a tool/weapon with insanely high enchants or create a widely appreciated huge axe for legendary slaying/PvP clout. But what is widely regarded as the best/most effective rare? What about the most valuable rare? This took a stupid amount of time to make while I was grinding a skill I don't really need. The clay/log would have to be 2 kg or 24 kg, or its maximum possible weight. Best used AFTER taking a bite of CCFP food so you won't accidentally lose nutrition. Requires at least 15 Faith to any god to sacrifice something and an altar to sacrifice the item in. Supreme/Fantastic items sacrificed at their maximum weight will provide 99% food/nutrition/water and also a very small skillgain tick for a random skill, with fantastic items giving a slightly larger tick. The majority of the statistics came from the Wurmpedia page on rarity functionality, the related "Talk" page, and some information came from my aging, worthless, personal brain databanks.

    I doubt its working as intended mechanically, in fact if that was indeed the mechanical process behind the concept of SMCs or LMCs, then perhaps a refund is in order for all the players lead to believe that the chests stop items from decaying? Maybe adding a small note 'These chests are designed only to protect items while they are kept on deed' so that no other players fall for, if that is indeed the intended mechanical workings, blatant scam? These items are either a heavy amount of marks, or a hefty amount of silver, and if that is indeed their intended purpose, then that is nothing short of a scam.

    I don't want to take the habit of questioning staff answers. But... as intended? seriously? You mean that when this was originally developed it went somhow like this? - "How should decay on and magical chests and deed-protected items be handled?" - "Hm, i propose that we make the items apparently avoid the decay, but actually stealth-store it indefinitevely" - "Oh, so that when you actually take it out, after months/years, or bring it outside the deed, it takes all the damage it avoided at once?" - "Yeah, exactly, we must punish players randomly and without reason with this hidden mechanic because it's fun" - "Sounds a bit complicated to code, but we'll make it work" - "Perfect!"
