So this was not illegal to slay after getting loose. I understand that. But for Zach to sit here and make up excuses why he killed it.. I just can't bite my tongue. When It got loose and was announced in trade chat I watched Zach SAIL there from another server. (He's on my friend's list). I knew what he was doing, so messaged him and asked if he needed help trapping it. I got crickets. He then waited THREE HOURS to get enough fighters together. Three hours is more than enough time for someone who knows how to pen. Plenty more. You can couch it however you want, you wanted the kill. That is within the rules. Morally? There was a public slay announced, you knew it was Malajane's... You could have just stayed away for the 12 hours until the public slay, but you CHOSE to GO there. /mytwocents.

If targeted by a mob and the mob does not have you targeted anymore you should un-target that mob. Character should not be stuck in target/combat when ran 100+ tiles past the mob. Should be smart enough to un-target old mob so can defend yourself if a new mob moves in to attack you later. Or the classic issue of some mob targeted you and you continue running 500 tiles away and then a new mob runs in and you get the attack window, but you can't hit it because you still have mob from 500 tiles away targeted.

Seeing as how the dragon is dead and the event is cancelled, I will close this. It is sad that the dragon broke out and was slain but no rules were broken. If you would like to discuss unique changes or ideas, please make a topic in the Suggestions thread. Thanks! ~Brattygirlsback (SFM)

0.05kg lingonberry juice + 0.1kg gold = Transmutation liquid, dirt to marsh 0.05kg lingonberry juice + 0.1kg silver = Transmutation liquid, marsh to dirt Amount needed: half as much as for moss-tundra transmutation The reasoning behind this: Some people like marsh. But it's impossible to create at present. We need an option. Transmutation liquid is an established precedent. It's a well tested, understood, and accepted technique. Marsh can already be transformed into dirt by laying floorboards and removing pavement. Doing it using transmutation should not be much harder.

    1. Too many people when trapping a dragon creates more problems. 2. You did not need to GO TO THE DRAGON. You went there. Stop deflecting. You made the choice, you can let the community decide if what you did was MORALLy right or wrong. *edit to add* funny thing about dragons, if you go out of their tether range they bounce back to where they were and don't chase you.

I'm picturing two options for this: 1. A hitching post might be required at both ends, planted to the waystones being used in the same manner as wagoner containers. This would give rise to players creating specialized horse delivery points for this sort of purpose. 2. The horses could simply be hitched to the waystones themselves, or a hitching post might be required only at the point of origin, and the horses could be hitched to a waystone at the destination if no hitching post is connected with that waystone (or is already fully occupied.) In either case, there probably should be a warning when arranging transport, "Wagoners will only protect your horses during transport. We are not stable hands." It's not in their job description to prevent horse neglect once they're delivered. As an added protection, they might also refuse to transport pregnant or venerable horses, unless the latter are cared for. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't guarantee that an animal in this condition would survive the trip."

An explanation for those who don't know what it is, if something is placed somewhere where decay is stopped/almost entirely stopped, such as a filled larder, magic chest, decorations on deed, among other things, decay will build up the entire time it's there. This is due to how decay works, each "interval" it'll take damage equal to how much time it's taken ( if it takes a tick of 1 dmg per day on average, and it's been 2 days since it last checked, it'll take 2 dmg, and so on), then reset the time since last decay to 0. These things that "stop" decay get around decay by making the intervals between decay near infinite, but once you take it off deed, the decay intervals are set back to their original amounts, but you've still got the built up time since last decay tick. Say you're on a boat that's been on deed for a year since you were on a break or something, and you sail it off deed, within a few minutes of sailing, it'll take a years worth of decay at once, if this is a low quality boat this can instantly destroy it or kick you out as it's no longer high enough quality to be commanded. The weird way that this is coded makes the no decay basically useless for anything that doesn't permanently reside in a deed/in a magic chest or similar. Suggested fix would be 1. Change the decay interval modification to a 100% decay damage reduction, this would fix the issue, but might add a slight amount of lag to the server as all the items that are on deed and weren't getting polled for decay before are now being polled as they would off deed. 2. Make being on a deed/in a decay proof container reset "lastMaintained" on server launch. This would half fix the problem, but you'd still be getting decay on boats/carts/etc if you drive them around daily and park them on deed after 3. Make repairing/commanding/pushing/interacting with something in a decay proof container/etc force a check for decay that's set to 0 if it's somewhere protected from decay and reset "lastMaintained". This would be the most reliable one but not sure how much of an impact on lag this would have, especially with things like someone pushing instantly on deed.

The last beverage guide is over 5 years old, if we can compile everything here about beverages I would be willing to write up a comprehensive guide. Have we found better grinding methods than 45 bowls in an oven with .5 herbs and water? Does anyone have tips and tricks? Any information the wiki is missing?

With path of love, we can enchant trees and bushes to stop aging- and I would love to see the same with hedges. I like medium hedges for the visibility, but it can be a pain to go through and prune often if you have a lot of them, and the Camellia hedge appearance isn't for me. This allows us to add in variety and strip some of the tedious maintenance.

Cocoa one item drop in roasting pans. No measuring water. Make paste with fruit press. Can benefit coc. Cook paste into liquor. Each cocoa gives 3 chances for skill. No measuring water etc. This would be my recommendation. With Daily harvest can do quickly.

First thanks for the nice summary. But I would be highly in favour of lingonberry juice. There are waste tundra areas on most servers, and foragers (at least here) harvest as much lingonberries as of the rest of berries. But aside from a few cooking and baking recipes, there is almost no use for lingonberries. I have several large amphoras full of lingonberry juice I pressed because berries are such volume hogs. I would gladly give them away for the price of the amphora, maybe even below. Yes!

An enthusiastic "Yes!" from me! Yes, please! Now with more yes! The ancients cry out for yes! Lingonberry juice is a heck of a limiting factor though, as it can't be planted in orchards and big patches of tundra can be hard to come by. Granted, foraging for lingonberries can be done any time of the year, but getting enough lingonberries for a transmutation will take a good long while. It seems overly strict to me, but perhaps this makes it the right limiting factor? I do like the idea of gold or silver as the transmutation metal - maybe even electrum? Only downside might be that the finished liquid volume would be about 10kg which makes it very portable, unlike most other transmutations. All this to say - YES YES YES to adding marsh transmutations, or at least some mechanism of creating marsh. Sometimes a witch just really, really wants to live in a hut in the swamp. 🥺

I like this. It's always felt like there's so much more potential for Alchemy/Natural Substances than we've seen implemented. In the spirit of having more than one way of doing a thing, I'd suggest a second farmer's option. Every time a tile is sown (not planted) with reeds and allowed to go to weeds, there'd be a chance for that tile to become a marsh tile. Also allow planting of reeds on marsh tiles, to have the option of a reedy marsh.

I agree there should be some way to create marsh and transmutation liquid is the obvious solution.

Is there no one with 100 in a characteristic yet? I checked some of the top players on wurmnode and niarja and don't see any. I only ask because there's never been a 100 column on the wurmpedia titles page. Should there be 100 column anyway? As a new player, the lack of a column there might very likely make it seem as if 90 is the best you can do.

I can offer you to continue running Niarja. I have the server infrastructure and the skill to do so, in case you want to open source it or search someone taking up the project. It is a great service used a lot on both Wurm Unlimited and Wurm Online. Would hate to see it go, especially because my players are also using it.

Yeah, at this point I'm ready to call BS on the LMC and deeds as well. We've been duped! They don't remove decay, they just delay it and accumulate it so you get big ole nasty surprise as soon as you try to use that precious keepsake you've been saving for a special occasion. How does one report a scam in here?

Neck wound channel grinding. The wound creates a percentage reduction of channeling skill. Math for this is wound damage number divided by 76 equaling the precent reduction. For example, a 57-point neck wound is 57 / 76 for 75%. And this would reduce say 72 channeling to 18. Freezing a sever wound with a 6 potency works well for me. Freezing a lower damage value wound may be difficult. And this is why using neck wounds with lower channeling may not work as well. For example, at 36 channeling you'd want a 38 damage neck wound to reduce that 36 in half to 18 effective skill. I'm not sure if one can freeze a 38 damage wound. Using the grinder app we can figure out which effective channeling is best for skill gain. Use fixed bonus channeling simulation. Skill field is the effective skill after neck-wound reduction. Difficulty is spell's value (10 for light token, opulence, morning fog) Bonus can safely be set to 70. It buffs skill a little. The effects of bonus are phased out approaching 100 and are completely removed at 100. But grinder takes this into account so it can be ignored. Bonus is derived from alignment, armor bonus, faith bonus, deed enchanting bonus, + enchanting success rune and it's hard caped at 70. Alignments bonus is ABS of alignment less 49. For example, (+/-)100 alignment gives 51 bonus. Deed enchanting bonus is 1 bonus per 1 deed bonus added to the bonus from alignment calculation. For example, a 2 enchanting bonus added to the above 51 is 53 bonus. Armor affect is percentage buff/nerf of running tally from deed bonus. For example, a -30% nerf applied to the running tally example is (1 + -0.3) * 53 is 37.1 bonus. Faith bonus is a 1 bonus per 1 faith bonus addition. For example, Using a 28 power faith bonus will increase the running tally to 65.1 bonus. + Enchant success rune which is percentage buff the runny tally value after faith bonus. For example, using a +10% rune and the above running tally (1 + 0.1) * 65.1 is 71.61. But bonus is hard caped at 70 so the 71.61 is reduce to that. For the example running tally I used values to show how it all works. In reality it's easy to get 100 alignment and not wear armor. This will put you at 66.3 bonus. That is only about 4 points from the cap. Your always going to be at the 70 cap unless your trying hard to not be. Tool QL field is 0. The statuette of the gods doesn't help. When the simulation is run a mean of 20 is optimal. And for the 10 difficulty spells 18 modified skill happens to be just right.
