Hello, I have been working on some ideas for changes to ships I would like to see in game. I appreciate some of these may not be for everyone so welcome feedback on what people do and do not like. New Ship The Clipper This will be the fastest ship available but with limited cargo space in comparison to other large but slower vessels. Much like the Caravel, the clipper will require significant skill and resources to construct and will work best in deeper waters due to its draft. Onboard Your Ship. Make It Yours. Improved ship customization will allow certain items to be socketed into empty slots on your ship. Items available will include Figureheads, Lamps, Flags, Sail Patterns, Cannons (aesthetic only) Hammocks, onboard storage and cooking facilities. Further customization will be available by increasing the number of paintable zones on ships. Paintable zones will include Masts, Decks, Hull, on-deck structures and multiple paintable zones on sails. Home Away from Home If you are your deed mates are travelling add Hammocks to your ship so you can leave the tent at home and respawn back onboard instead. This applies to all ships with space below deck so cannot be used on the Knarr, Sailboat, or Rowboat. The ship must be stationary for the option to respawn onboard to appear, this cannot be used at the same time a tent is placed. Since the Knarr is the Go-To ship for most things I think an added benefit of this is it provides a usage case for other ships that the Knarr cannot manage. A Portable Workshop Exclusive to only the largest vessels, you can now add small versions of many crafting tables, these work much slower than land-based options but provide a handy way to craft on the go when needed. Attachable Rowboats Your shipbuilder assured you she’d never sink but if you have a habit of taking unplanned excursions onto rocks or other obstacles there is a backup plan! Rowboats can now be attached to and stored onboard larger ships (Corbita, Cog, Clipper, Caravel) Stop getting stuck in the sandbanks and send your deed mates rowing to and from the shore to collect any cargo you need. Once they’ve finished scrubbing your pristine freshly painted decks that is. Walkable Decks With the new customization adding additional functionality to your ship, you can now walk around the larger ships while they are stationary. Flags Several Flag options are now available to fly onboard your ship, choose from various patterns and designs which are all dyable or rep your server while travelling with dedicated flags for each map. Rare flag options can also be found in Treasure hunts. Naming and Permissions Changes Ships will all come with nameplates allowing the custom name you have chosen to be proudly displayed on the hull. Players can choose to register their ships to their deed allowing permissions to be set based on settlement roles, registering a ship will also add a new Examine Text “This ship is registered to the settlement of <Settlement Name> By <Player Name> As with existing “citizens of my deed” permissions this wont work cross-server unless there can be a workaround. Shoreside Improvements. Cleats. Cleats can now be installed on Piers to tie ships securely, these offer similar protection to the anchor but additionally align your ship with the pier for a more uniform look. Dry Dock If you’ve hit a few too many rocks and your Caravel is looking more like a colander, you can now build and use the Dry Dock. This must be built on a slope between 2-8, takes up an area 5 tiles long and 2 wide using winches or Horses to drag vessels out the water. Perfect for loading ships onto transporters or launching new ships into the water after construction. Piers Dedicated Piers for shipping, these can be made out of either wood or masonry materials and will not require a build-up of dirt or sand, they simply need building in the water (there will have to be a maximum depth) Floating Platforms, These will be 1 square in size and will be wooden platform anchored in place, these can then hold other items such as lamps, signs, or be used as a Fishing Platform for example. If you got this far (without skipping to the bottom) thank you for reading my suggestions

I know all say Epic is dead, and yes for sure Epic have had there down time. Serenity is not deed! I became active again, went from freedom, tog the portal to Epic, and with in logn I fund a active deed to be a member of. Fund out there is now a new kingdom leader, he seems like a good man, and there is more active deeds. SB even have a new player deed again, and I see things starting to be build again. Yes we are not many Epic players, I don't know about the other kingdoms, but JK is for sure not dead, and I love to be back home on Epic. Sure is will be nice if there was a working market and so on, there is not at this moment, but I hope for the best, and hope more players will join the Epic lands. Why be limited to one small map, when you can have hole Epic to play on? So are you a comming back to wurn or a new player, think about if the Epic servers can be somthing for you? We have a kingdom discord, and our allince chat is normaly active in the active houers of the day. Epic is not deed, we are here, and we love to be back home!

Not sure if anyone brought it up, but would really suck for anyone who lives on any of the coasts that would end up being inner ones, or even worse the inner central corners. Maybe people chose to live on a corner island because they wanted to be close to both borders, and they end up being in center of a big server, would be pretty bad imho.

Ships should have interchangeable parts that can be removed, improved and replaced. Think of it like horseshoes and a saddle on a boat. Sails- 1. Improved with cloth tailoring, these give a speed bonus of x% per y quality (TBD). 2. Can be enchanted with WoA for a slightly larger speed bonus. 3. Dying the removable sail allows you to change the color of your sails when you want. (As opposed to dye being a 1 time use). 4. (Dream change) option for PMK sail graphics Rudder- Improved with ropemaking (same tools for net traps), these grant both a slight speed bonus and improved navigation (cornering) Oars - Improved with shipbuilding, these dramatically increase speed when traveling INTO the wind. (10 kph instead of.... 3....)

My main concern with making it easier to remove reinforcement is our tunnel system. Here on Xanadu tunnels are the easiest way to get to large portions of the interior. Someone coming along and destroying one, just because the tunnel didn't fit into their plans or whatever, would make travel even more time-consuming.

Notices this this summer, for a whole year (rl) it has not been an issue, as long as we replaced our snowballs at winter, all food has stayed without decay in the larders. Now even the freshly made pizzas (wrapped and all) takes sudden, random decayticks in there and the snowballs definitly takes much more damage than ever before. We only use 99ql snowballs and we fill the box up whenever we can. Even replaced a couple of those with highest decay this winter with snowballs from a snowman, though only one snowman cant possibly keep up with this decay. I really prefer having our food in the larders instead of lmc, even though it means we will have to gather snowballs at winters and replace them. But at this rate..it wont be any point using them anymore and thats kinda sad. Whats the idea of having a larder if you cannot use it to store food anymore?

+1 for both. Colossus is just decoration, a huge statue that's not related or needed in any way in religion other then the requirement? It's like you can restore mag statue from the fragments only if you follow mag Chaos faith thing it's just annoying, (re)introduce MR and JK template. as well.

So you are unwilling to support the game with a monthly premium, even though it would cost you about a cup of coffee every month. Good to know. Your posts clearly come across that you are a bitter vet, hate the steam release and the NFI cluster. You disguise this as "data gathering", which you then spin the numbers to fit your narrative which is almost always negative. The steam release was 2 years ago, move on. NFI is going no where and a cluster merge has been ruled out of the question for now. Wurm's population is stable during the summer months when most gaming populations dip because of summer vacations and overall nice weather. That is a good thing. You clearly have a following on this forum as this is one of the longest forum posts I have seen. I think you could do much better for Wurm and it's players if your posts were more positive, concentrating less on the past and more on what Wurm has to offer now. This is a very good game that allows you to do almost anything you want in a wide open world. There are a lot of players that are happy with the game as it is now. The dev team has been making some great strides forward with many QoL changes and most recently the treasure hunting update. I have never played a game before where the dev team actually listened and communicated with the community like the Wurm dev team does. It really adds to the overall gaming experience when devs care as much as players. I am sure the dev team is working hard to create many more great updates for the future, and I for one can't wait to see what comes next!

So yeah I just had a question hit me in Freedom on Cadence. I know the NFI servers are old and cadence is the newest server so me might have a few Migrants that might fit this bill so this is gunna have to be on you guys to be honest about things. I am looking for the "Oldest" "Most active" player that started on Cadence. I mean Older then the highway system if possible one of the first through the newbie portal and is still playing the game. Reason i ask about it. We have alot of people that was out need to detox take a long break. WHO is the true sweat of cadence that logs in everyday still to tend his crops and groom his animals, and just sits back on deed and just looks at everything they've built and remembers what the land looked like Before trees where cut and regrew and cutt again across the countless rifts. This is what I'm looking for, and once again I'm relying on a lot of honesty for this. [14:00:43] You entered through the portal to Wurm on day of Awakening, week 2 of the Raven's starfall, 1110. That's 56 days, 15 hours and 43 minutes ago. [14:00:43] You have played 31 days, 21 hours and 45 minutes. this info can begotten by the /playtime incase anyone new doesn't know about this command

So, since returning to Wurm a few months ago, I promised myself that I wouldn't take on another big deed project for a while. Well, that all changed when the fire nation attacked when I accidentally saw this scene in the trailer for Wurm Online on Steam: ... I absolutely love the look of this huge underground world and I want to build one for myself, specifically a sort of "pirate cove" theme - with all sorts of buildings, waterways, bridges, and hidden secrets within. Part of the appeal for me is that most people (myself included) don't build their deeds underground, and so it would be a pretty unique project. However, that also means that I've never seen and walked around anything like it in-game before, so it isn't easy to get ideas and inspiration on. Hopefully that's where the Wurm-forum-hivemind can come in! I'd love it if people could post below with screenshots and/or videos of any underground deeds they've come across / own. I'd love to know about some more I can visit in person (I already know I need to visit Nadroj's deed on Exodus, Magranon's Rest, sometime soon.) I have a good understanding of the technical possibilities and limitations thanks to threads like this one, but I want some artistic inspiration so that I can start designing! Extra points if you can find any examples of cave constructions with more natural-looking cave ceilings instead of the typical flat ceilings that most have. Thanks for your help! 😁 tl;dr: please post cool underground deed screenshots below

Hello. I need to bring this to attention to the community in order to get some more opinions on this subject. I have been a champion a few times. Two of these times my prayer skill have been quite high, around 76 the first time and 90 the second time. First time after I got dechamped my prayer went negative 50, and put it below the skill I previously had and it was upgraded by GM's again. This time, the same BUG happened and my prayer was set to 40. I opened a ticket but got told again and again that this is intented behavior and not a bug? I can't believe that 6 years of grinding prayer should be wasted upon this and this being intended. Naturally, I have openend the case again to further discuss the issue. In the meantime. What to you guys think about this?

I understand the intention behind making 30 faith a requirement for benefiting from rites and religion being a long-term commitment, but there are numerous side effects from the way this was implemented that are really painful. Please fix: - Auto-nuke (back to zero faith) religion switch when crossing into Chaos as a past Hots but no longer want to be Hots player. - Can only build colossus of your religion.

The Idea Any character who has completed the "first steps" journal entry and has completed at least 20 other goals is protected from deletion. The Reasoning As things currently stand, if you try wurm out for a week or two and then leave, if you want to try it again later your character is gone if you did not premium up. This is likely a contributor to the churn-rate of the game, and doesn't generate a positive player experience. The proposed change would fix this issue, and also possibly act as an extra nudge for new players to use the goal system (they're likely to stick around longer if they know they can earn permanence for free). I suspect it wouldn't be too much of an issue in terms of space used as player entries are likely to be quite small!

During my ongoing archeology adventure this lovely item was retrieved. It was improved to its former glory and 102 botd added. This pick is equipped with glow and acts as a permeant lantern. For easier maintenance it is equipped with 10% reduced damage from use and 7.5% faster improvement rate. Reduced decay taken to assist with storage along with these runes and 102 botd suits it as a fast pace general tunneling and surface mining pick. Should you choose to use it as a surface miner it also has 10% shatter resistance to help facilitate putting Stone Strike on. Starting Bid: 1s Minimum Raise: 1s Reserve: None Sniper Protection: 30 minutes No private bids.

A rare pumpkin from forage is an example of the hourly window MOI system. I think there are different systems is all. MOI systems: hourly window MOI system...once an hour on average there is a dice roll to see if you get a rare. At the least it is 50% for a rare and the other rarities have smaller chances. These can drop caskets assuming the action done is one that drops caskets. I don't know all the actions offhand. coin drop system. forage and botany are 1/100 chance when you find an item to get a coin. The chances are smaller when you have multiple gatherings. Those reduces chances are something like 1/300, 1/200, 1/100 if you were getting three items per a grass tile. Burry corpses, killing things, praying, and selling to the token all can drop coins. I don't know the chances for those. No caskets drop from these. constructing items with rare parts. If an item has at least 3 parts that are destroyed/added to the construction, it will do a MOI roll. The chance here is 1 in number of parts. Caskets don't' drop from this. Although none of the actions that used complex crafting are ones that drop caskets anyway. improving with a rare material where you completely consume all of the rare material in the improve action. This is 1% chance to transfer rarity from consumed improve material to the target. No casket is dropped here. No MOI notification is made either.

there is not as its not needed. If spell fails - domination fails on any mob. if spell is successful - the mob is dominated, regardless its a hell hound or a troll. Spell power dictates the tame level, spell difficulty dictates the spell success chance and average spell power, so higher the channelling the better. Also, you can only dominate monsters. Animals like HH or crocodiles require charm spell by FO, so they cannot be dominated.

just chiming in to say that I too has noticed a very defined increse in dmg taken on food in larder. instead of telling you all how the setup is im gonna say its been no issue since we started playing over a year ago, and now suddenly it is. so im confident we are doing it "right". hope this is fixed since our affinity food is starting to take decay, some even abit more than i think is ok. if its not a bug, this will force us to have to use a LMC for atleast the affinity-food for our toons. cant have 95ql wrapped food in supreme larder with 99ql snowballs take 10dmg every week inside a finished house, thats just not viable in the long run. edit: This ^^ Pls look into this?

90 can already be a struggle for some folk though, and I'd much rather we put the carrot on a reasonable to reach stick. I get what you mean, but putting it to 99 skill seems a touch bit too much for what is just a large statue.
  38. 1 point
Faith restriction for colossuses should drop at 99 Masonry, at that level you're practically a god of that skill. Why not 100? Only an idiot will consider it, takes months to year/s to get there and by that point you're near impossible to ever pull a person of that caliber work on a colossus for free or as paid service. Just being reasonable. Faith doesn't make much sense.. it's a bot gathering, hive net.. to gain faith, it's even then heavy AFK, spreadsheet and alarm clocks to track your next prayer and sermon to queue.. Requires several other premiums just standining there like bots just to sponge some spam in local chat... for what reason? Whole priesting and gaining of faith is terrible.. imagine new player in 2022 headbutting into it... is that what you present to them as becoming a priest.. grind this annoyance for few months "it's fun" they say.. pfft... "yea".. nooo... The process could require some quest like system, journal and achievement or rng rotating priest tasks.. like casting spells or gaining skill on favor making etc.. priest-related stuff.. things that support "the class", something that makes you actually play the game and not be afk bot.. with other bots.. with mom's cooking timer and nothing to do until next do this and then afk again rotation. Leave legacy system for the sermon lovers, but that's just unpleasant, every next year there's lowering and lowering attention span, and people here are forced to wait on big timers for barely any difference.. As to ex 20 faith etc... it's really weird why that was resolved the way it was.. we already have a system with path questions and delay of at least 15days to advance... R E U S E IT ... instead of forcing nonsense penalizing everybody.. if somebody changes faith once, force a 15day faith change delay - boom... so called "abusers" get slapped on the spot, wait for it.. it's just them being slapped, everything else works as it was before, nobody's unhappy but a few faith jumpers now in line... How long does it take to grind back from ~1-5-10.. to 30 faith.. about 2.5-3 weeks was it, time seems similar.. and with weekly global casts on nfi.. that pretty much makes it pointless to do. - 10 faith - you can sacrifice items - 20 faith - you get passive bonuses (huge.. for some, especially with the skill-gain bonuses - jumpers will be mostly missing on these if they keep doing that nonsense) - 30 faith - priest tier, else pointless and still unnecessary unless you go that path ez pz game mechanics, all there, just reuse it, it's already written code, and will force less drama and nonsense like grinding to 30 faith for near a month to be able to get sb from a global cast
  39. 1 point
The colossus of faith is fine imo, as such a building would only be built by someone of faith. The whole chaos/freedom faith thing has been a nightmare since its inception too, needs a fix

I've read this thread for a few months and not really commented, but... does anyone else who has been here for ages not entirely get what the fuss is about? I had a look at some of my old event logs from back in 2011-2012, and typical player counts seemed to peak at around 1000 accounts online. Currently, Wurm peaks at around 600-700 - eleven years later. Very, very few games stick around for so long. I definitely think that Wurm's new player experience needs a ton of work, and it is a shame that so few newbies stick around long-term. It's a real shame that the Steam release didn't capture more, which I think is something Ether has been really getting at (which is very fair). But I don't think it's the next Wurmageddon, particularly as the playercount seems stable for now. As long as the developers keep working on things and don't take it for granted that Wurm has survived for so long, then I think Wurm can and will stick around for a very long time to come. There are difficult times ahead with the decision around merging clusters, but if the past has taught us anything, Wurm can keep on surviving. It's difficult to know how much of the player counts we see are alts, particularly when comparing to very old data - but I do at least know that back in 2012 I used to play on more alts than I do now, and I knew many people back then who ran lots of alts (in the same way that many people do now.) Also, even for people with a priest of every god, I think it's pretty rare to have them all online at once - once they're skilled up you only really log them in to do casts, so I don't buy that the playercount now is necessarily so full of alts as has been suggested, or that it's really especially different to ten years ago. (But we also don't know conclusively, and I'll gladly eat my hat if I'm wrong.) One serious factor at play in making it difficult to know is that regular forum users of Wurm are definitely not representative of the overall playerbase - I'd wager that people who browse the forums regularly are more hardcore about Wurm, have probably been around for longer, and are probably more likely to have more accounts than the typical player. I for one would love it if @Chakroncould release a data dump of all the player counts from Niarja over the years, it would be really interesting to have it as a point of comparison with the great work Etherdrifter has done (particularly since it goes back a lot further.)

-1 absolutely. Reinforcements have to do with deeds only so far as mayor and villagers/players with appropriate rights can remove reinforcements. Reinforcements have their sense and use independently from deeds. Reinforcement removal is not hard usually, just needs a temporary deed. Where that is not possible, it can be complicated. But I think the protection it gives to communication tunnels and other underground structures is worth that problem. If you want reinforcements removed on a former deed, re-deed it and hack them away. If done fast, it costs you only the tile cost, 1.40s or so for a minimum sized deed plus some irons or coppers upkeep depending on how fast you are.
  43. 1 point
I can see the benefit to this but there are cases where reinforcements are required to remain long after a deed is disbanded. Someone might deed on top of a Highway Tunnel or underground Canal which would cause problems if they were to later disband. There is also the possibility of builders deeding these spots to protect the construction process which means they will never be able to drop the deeds onces construction is complete.

Gud'morning folks, Thursday, Aug 25th, 2022 at 14:37 GMT I am losing my cherished affinity Pizza's as well and other food that is wrapped and inside a larder with over 100 snowballs in the ice box. 100 Snow balls at 99 QL used to protect a larder through Two Winters, which was a nice feature IF someone happened to miss a winter or two due to RL keeping them away during the 3 days out of 42 one can collect snowballs. In the past two weeks, all of our hunting lodges (which have Public Inns BTW), their larders are all of a sudden seeing their snowballs just melting away. High QL wrapped meals i have stored their to feed us on our Mapping Surveys are just decaying away as the snowballs are melting very fast. .... and my highly prized (wrapped) affinity pizzas are talking decay as if they were sitting on the floor out in the warm instead of inside a larder a larder with 100 snowballs still in the icebox. -100 for this dis-improvement. Please fix this... some of us do have RL lives... .... and occasionally miss Winter, some times two in a row (which just happened to me and Skyefox). We do not want to see a lot of hard work and time suddenly end up in a dripping puddle on the floor. Yours sincerely, a long time paying customer, Hughmongus

Cave canals! Today we finished work on a new cave canal, the Turtlehaven Waterway, connecting the Inner Sea on Independence to Lake Tortuga. 400 tiles long, and took just over two months to complete, which all things considered was really fast - mostly because the folks who live at Turtle Bay are the fastest miners you've ever seen. It went from this... ... two months later, to this... Group photo! (left to right: Amberflame, Docterchese, Jessicazoe, Maximusi, Sathera, Ruriko and Kodos). This is by far the biggest public project I've ever been involved on, and it was really fun and rewarding to do. Chat to your neighbours today and find something you can all do for your server's infrastructure. It will be great! \o/

Dear Diary. It's been a few weeks since I landed on the shores of Wurm. At first, I was disorientated, and the start area seemed a bit dark. Could be my settings. I have them low. Signs to read and mini quest to perform. I skipped them. How hard could it be. I wish I had not. I will go back with another avatar and experience it. I picked a random map and entered the portal. Now I was in an unknown town. It was night and lights shown from most directions. The street was empty of people, but I could see signs of activity. Some of the buildings had outside areas. I needed to find a place to make shelter. Quickly I had questions. Am I to close to this farm? Should I build here or not? I asked the help chat. Information I received sent me looking for a new area. I sat up my tent by a mountain that had a mine. I was on some sand, but it was flat. I received a message from a player. He was offering me help. He wanted me to join him in Deliverance. Said it would be a good place to start. I was far from him. I was not even on the same map. So, I had to make a new avatar named Dunder after the dumb name dunderhead. It's how I felt at the moment. Now I was in Deliverance on a cart with a player. We arrived at a fort or castle. There was a small town around the area. He showed me the houses and told me who lived in them. Most close to me were Spanish speaking. Two weeks later they gave me a welcome gift as did others in the town. It was a set of armor a weapon and horses. I founded a deed outside of the fort. It's a small urban lot but it's all I need as a Hunting base. Most of the town is involved in some water tunnel. They are building to the ocean. I do not help yet. Mostly just hunt and build on the deed. My first few days was a bit odd. I did not know what I wanted to do. It was daunting. I was a bit trapped. Could not explore far with my armor. I don't know the area and would not know how to find my things. It is decided I will spend a few months learning to protect myself. My house and deed are finished. All I do is farm cotton for hunting. I don't cook. I only eat potatoes. I save my sleep bonus for healing after hunting. I had to buy new armor the gifted armor to me was studded leather with enchants. It a level I have not reached. I need steel plated armor to survive the creatures. I used some coin and went to south port and found just want I needed at this level. My first two weeks hunting was learning to find the creatures. Where and how they spawn. I also am learning to switch from auto fight to manual. Mostly learned by reading and watching the auto. I've learned to look at the map and go to places where there are many creatures. Sand pits and large areas clear of trees are my favorite. I take a cart so I can spend the time needed. Creatures don't seem to respawn very quickly so each log in has me to a new area. I will edit and add here so as to not bump the topic. Last night a player ran past me. He was on some quest to swim to another island. He wanted to know what direction south is. I gave him my compas to take with him. I hope he makes it. Don't know if I can replace the compas, but I have not used it. I want to go on an adventure to epic but not ready to die yet. I've been doing so much hunting and healing that I need more cotton. I could buy 1000 cotton for the 1 silver I found but I lost the vendor's name. My neighbor has a farming plot outside his deed. I've seen him work it in the recent past. It's not fenced in and its cultivated. I think I will just go out and farm on it. hmmm I know I should ask. It's the right thing to do. nope don't know him and rarely see him on. odds are I can plant the whole field harvest and never be seen. I would ask if I knew the name. ugh this is not how to make friends. ------------- Dear Diary, I am excited about getting my first pony. I have three on the way. Should be within a few days. I will also need to learn to take screen shots. I would like to share the picture of pony with family. One of the dangers I face in Wurm is loss of items. It is so easy to get lost die and not be able to retrieve my items. I stay close to home but when I do go across the map I run into a problem. Seems my computers memory is not enough. I start to lag and that is a danger in getting killed and loss of items. So far in the game I have only lost 1.5 silver in coin. Nothing else. Maybe time for new computer but until then I must limit how far I run in a short time or relog or clear memory halfway. I expect I will lose everything I carry in time. I just don't want it to happen yet. http:// photo upload test Was a bit complicated. I had to put the game in windows mode then screenshot it. After that I had to crop the photo. Then upload it to a separate site that will upload it here on the forums. I used the photo hosting site Udrop.com to host the photo. Love the new backpack! ----------------- Its 3:40AM when I started hunting. Cat woke me up. I've been wondering what I would specialize in. I've had many ideas. I started hunting because I needed to. Then I rushed hunting. I even stopped butchering or burying. Soon I started seeing more rats. Everything was a mess. Then a talk with a player near me push me in the direction of not trying to specialize yet. I would miss out on things. That I should just live day by day. I could hunt three creatures stop cook, meditate, make some healing pods. I could spend an hour on just three creatures. No need to rush anything. Sometimes it's fun to rush then I will. That didn't stick. I still want to specialize in something. I think for now it will be Hunting and Alchemy. I just hunt something then butcher it and then make healing pods with the teeth and hart and eyes. That gives me alchemy and natural substances then use that to heal next time. My ponies came in. Two from different parents. So cute. Small little legs and tiny head. Only about to my knees. Great Hunt. I did die once, and I hate to die but it was a good death. I was on a highway, and I found a bunch of hardened lava spiders. Perfect just my level. Not only were there a lot of them they seemed to have respawned before I returned to get my things. Strange things happening in Wurm. I seem to find just what I am looking for. Like with the backpack. I didn't have a backpack to put the monthly skin on. I was going to mis out. Then there it was. In the middle of the road. A pile a sword and a backpack that's all but it's just what i needed when I needed it. I think I entered the Wurm Zone. Money oh yes, I find money. I think I have found about 4 silver in 2 months. Mostly when I bury something. Ive bough a few horses with it. I bought a troll mask for one silver and a few tools. I found a rare trowel for about 40 coppers. I used it for a while, now it waits for me. ---------------------------- Today a player near me does the o/ thing. It's like saying HI. I asked where he lived and then I went and visited his deed. That was good for me. It's getting old knowing names but nothing else. This way I can understand who is saying HI to me and what they could be working on. I should ask that too. yea what they are working on. These houses in Wurm are not empty they just need names to match. I have played before. I dont remember much. I did not do much. I remember it was fun and I enjoyed digging that about all I did was dig and more dig. It was a sand box game, so I played in the sand. Ran around and died. I think at some level we are all new players or old players doing things a new way. Now we have bridges. I remember so much swimming. I would swim around the islands for days. Then came the sharks. They kind of slowed down the swimming. Different this time because I am on a server where people don't take my things and break my walls every other day. Its nice. Deliverance Port is a real place. One of the things I love about Wurm are the buildings and structures and roads. They are real. Real as in thought out and placed by random people in random ways. I would like to build a house at this place. It's a real hub for hunting and fishing. I came for the Hunting. It has large sand dunes and open spaces. At the port I saw a shark. It has feel to it. ----------- Killed a troll for the first time. He was old. I was excited that is one of the things that I wanted to do. I will have to learn how the age things works. Thats likely key to how hard they are. Seems most players I run into are long term players more of a; how long have you stayed not how long have you played. Ive read about a few things like dragons and special metals but most of what I have seen has been of lower levels. Even the trolls are not difficult with a few months hunting. Its good I can move on to other things sooner. maybe fishing or bows. ----------- Seems I spoke too soon. It's the age of the creature that determines its strength. Then there are greenish and other types of the same spider. It also seems as if getting the skill points is taking longer now that I am at level 70. I don't think I will finish fighting skill anytime soon. Ive started to try and sell some of my hunting loot. I have been collecting Charcoal and fat. Charcoal is used to make steel and fat to cook with. I think that I should be able to sell these items. I dont know about the fat but the Charcoal should be sellable. I dont have prices to go on but seems that 1 silver for 100 kg is fair. Sadly, I just learned that Charcoal has ql. I need to gain skill to get good ql Charcoal. I sent some cod today and didn't know about its ql issues. Fun part is that I will enjoy working on this skill. I get to cut down trees with a sword and then set them on fire. That should be fun. I died again. I hate that. Everyone can see that you died. You lose skill points. I was far from home, but everything worked out. I was able to get a horse a change of gear. In half hour I was back and had my items. working the coal piles was not what I wanted to do today. Just hunting for now. Ive been working on the Charcoal piles. Skill point raise fast. Diary Drama: I just cant stay out of trouble. Now that I want to make charcoal piles. Its best to have full grown tress close to each other. I find that in tree farms. Now tree farms once or still belong to a player. I want to make coin to pay the deed rent of 1 silver so I... Cut down all your trees; then I burn them. After that I leave piles of unused wood tar and ash. Just so I can sell your neighbor coal. Now the proper thing to do would be to plant a tree farm. That would raise the cost of the coal. I know of some deep woods but its not close to home or my bed. This coal is dirty business but its fun. Outside with big fires. I bought 2000 cotton enough to hunt for a month nonstop. I paid 2 silvers. Not sure about the charcoal piles. Seems that even at a high level its not a good profession to have. Its fun so for now. I keep making them. --------------- 9/1/22 ugh.. So charcoal is not the way to make coin. I made more hunting with the rare coins I find. but I want to do something besides hunt. I guess I could just make bricks or mortar. Does not sound like fun. I could craft armor but that takes many skills and a high level too. I don't need coin. My deed is only 1 silver per month. I don't even know what skills and trades there are. I could make clothing. Cotton is cheap enough. I would not need to farm. ahh hell two months in and I dont have a direction. There is the religion thing with the rug and prayers. I wonder if I can even get to epic from here. If I go can I get back. this is pve and that is pvp. I will just make 1000 of each resource-------------------- --------------- 9/13/2022 So I took a break for a few days. Ive been playing xbox 360 reddead redemption. I looked for other games that I would enjoy but found little. I did not know if I wanted to continue playing Wurm. It is hard. Its easy but its involved. Thats the word. its involved. Some say no one plays it but what Ive found is that there are people everywhere. Sure I dont run into 5 new players everyday but I am not in the area where they go. Even there I doubt you would run into that many maybe Idk. Where I live I must take care not to disrupt other players' land. Its not that easy. They like what they have the way they have it. I found I do want to continue to play. Even if I found a game like Wurm. It would be pay to play. In one way or another. I have found many things I can sell to make coin ingame. How rare is that? I can make 3 silvers with 1000 mortar. Ql is not an issue. Besides that when I hunt I find coins. I dont have to deposite. Ive started making mortar for trade then found out I can transmute some sand into clay. I want to do that but its costly. 10 maybe 15 silvers for a few tiles. I can earn that much with the clay near my deed then transmute some of the sandy hunting grounds to make it in one spot. Thats my new quest. Earn then upgrade the map near me. As with most things I am super excited for a while. Then I slow down or quit. I have not quit. I just settle into a comfortable life in Wurm. I log in a few times a week. I have much to do. While I was away, I lost 2000 cotton for hunting and another bsb with clay. Its my fault. I left them open outside my deed. I expected that they would be used by others. I did not expect them to take it all and the bsb too. lol such fun. Thats one thing Wurm has; realism. You can say what you want about the feeling of realism but when you clean so the neighborhood stays nice and when you worry about such mundane things it brings realism to the world. Most mmos have acres of land but it feels empty and artificial. This land feels real with history and long ago players. I imagine that I will continue to build my character but at a slower quieter pace. Wurm was not build in a day nor will my grasp of it be.

So let me get this straight..you have 3 sub-skills under the religion skill; channeling, exorcism, and prayer. All of these skills raise by up to 50 points to a maximum of 80 when you champ. If any of these skills are already above 80, they remain untouched. However, upon dechamping, channeling is the only one of these sub skills that reverts back to what it was prior to champing, whereas the other two skills get a flat -50, regardless of whether they were raised by 50 or not? That seems extremely buggy and unintended to me, but hey, I guess since champs are no longer a thing its p easy to just rule it as intended and forget about it instead of considering the alternative, right? I'll also note, nobody gave enough of a ###### to complain years ago when nearly no one had > 30 exorcism/prayer, but now that prayer is part of a journal goal and many ppl have ground the skill, its become quite apparent how utterly ridiculous and overlooked this so-called 'mechanic' is. It's p sad this can't be recognized and players are losing out on skills they worked hard to grind, simply because GMs/Devs refuse to acknowledge that this was previously considered a bug on multiple occasions. Champs are removed, do the right thing and fix his damn skills and be done with it. Is it really worth losing more support/players over something as silly as this?
