Look, we all know the situation; You're being chased by a dragon. You're co-ordinating with your team but you've not gotten everyone into the team chat. You right click a teammate to invite them, and in the heat of the moment you're faced with all these buttons You scurry your eyes down the list and "invite to join" catches your eyes and you press it and- You just invited them to your deed. How were you to know? You could deduce it from "Team up" and "Form alliance" being the other actions you could do which leaves "invite to join" as "invite to join my deed" But it seems like it should simply be tweaked to be "invite to deed" - you know what that button is going to do then, you don't think it'll invite you to join the team or the alliance - it's invite to deed! I want to draw a crowd at least 100 strong to protest this confusing naming convention, to Bruce's Flying Circus, N13, at this time There'll be butchering bloods and scale and a strange bone to pass around and this totally isn't a bribe but y'know - get there early so the priests aren't teleporting an army!

open console type exactly, replacing z with a button of your choice: bind z "firepillar" press z instead of packing ??? profit Anyone that sticks to packing come live will find themselves being cannibalized by other people who did the same and not being sure whose packing markers are whose. Also giving us maps that work (seemingly entirely, I can't find -anything- that the darker splotches are meant to represent) from contours and not giving us a topographical map dump is a solid joke, can we get that posted? We've got them for the live servers, want to see how much more reasonable those maps are when we have that reference We definitely need to be thinking, strategizing and not expecting this to just be easy - the feel of this system will undoubtedly change as we collectively get used to it - for instance, rather than digging around randomly, I did this Using 3 reference points (peat, rock, rock) and 3 directions from them (direct east, direct south, 2 tiles west for each tile south) I managed to dig at the correct spot second try.

You know what I don't want to see? A checkerboard of dirt tiles on our live servers in otherwise untouched wilderness from players trying to discover clues by digging.

Spent a couple hours on the test server today playing with the treasure maps. First the Good: I love the ability to show miniature map dumps for the maps, that is really cool that is shows the terrain as it is, instead of what it initially was. The rewards are also varied and interesting enough that I would love to get them on Live. I can't wait to see all the new toys revealed. The Bad: The in-game map is completely useless for this task. There is no way to zoom in closely enough to get any sort of meaningful detail, and the "hint" is an absurdly huge area. This lets me focus on the correct part of the out of game map dump, but I dislike requiring alt-tabbing to see that. There are many people who are unable to use the out-of-game wiki pages or community maps due to issues with alt-tabbing; they will wholly be unable to participate in these activities. My suggestion here, if possible, would be allow the ability to zoom in further on the in-game map. Additionally, there should be some alternate way of getting hints. Examine was simply too easy, perhaps as suggested above, have the hint shown each time you dig unsuccessfully, so there is a time cost involved. The "hints" that involve a disbanded deed, are worthless. Unless you've lived on a server and meticulously mapped and cataloged every deed that has ever existed, you won't get anything from them. Requiring a player to do archaeology to get a chance at a hint at the direction of an abandoned deed, is far too reliant on RNG to be useful in finding the location. Again, a different method of getting a direction and / or a distance is required. Shovel enchants do not seem to affect the "dig up treasure" action timer length. While not a game-breaker, it would be nice to have WoA and runes work for that. The Ugly: Some of the maps shown in this thread lack any recognizable details or are damaged / smudged to the point of unreadability. Even ones that do have those details, having some sort of legend showing is sand and is steppe would go a long way in helping decipher the clues. I've also talked with a colorblind player, who is going to have extreme difficulty with any clues that involve multiple similar colors.

Gave it another go. dug up an 86ql map. Found the location almost right away.....then spent TWO HOURS trying to find the correct spot to dig. This is NOT fun. I know things will be different on the live servers, and I'll try it again, but if it's not better then I doubt I'll be doing many if any maps. PLEASE bring back the distance on examine. Have it work only when you are 'a stone's throw away' or tie it to the dig action so it's not instant.

This reeks for a lot of landscape disfiguring once exploration goes productive, similar to the loads of fragment piles, or worse.

Thanks for the feedback. What's going on here is that the "Libila's Game" is a Libila colossus that had been renamed by a GM or developer, so the text winds up being unclear because it just uses the item's name. This is a situation that will happen less often on the live servers, but just to avoid any confusion, we'll be adding some clarification to the text in situations like these, where the type of item isn't clear from the name due to a custom name being applied. In those cases, especially when it's not an item that could get a custom name through normal play, we'll be adding text saying what type of item it is. In this case, it would end up saying something like "a colossus of Libila named 'Libila's Game'". It's definitely a source of confusion we'd like to avoid.

Yeah I agree to this. At least give us this system as Optional. Those who want to use the current system can simply NOT examine the map. The rest of us who liked the first iteration can examine the map to actually enjoy the content instead of digging randomly.

I suffer with anxiety/depression so I like Wurm as an escape from it all. It certainly helps me as it is a relaxing game. I was playing Wurm unlimited for the past 8 month though after leaving Wurm Online for being griefed in the game but I am now back in Wurm Online and looking forward to the challenged of a fresh start again.

Based on the feedback so far we have made the following changes below, they are now live on the test server. Please give them a try and let us know what you think about the changes and any further feedback/suggestions you have. New Changes Can now open more than 1 map at a time and the windows are resizable and minimizable. Challenge clues have been reworked to give some more detail and look much nicer. Will now give you a map grid that the item is near being more accurate the easier it is. This will only take effect for clues generated after this update. Map clues now have a right click hint option which will show a circle on the ingame map with a rough area of where the map is located. Oracle now has an ingame map. Removed distance estimation on examination. Increased area clues can be dug up now for easier tier clues. Reduced the time it takes to dig for treasure. Added deed ruin clues, are map clues with the location of an old disbanded village marked, will show hints on the ingame map the same as normal map clues. Prayer is now on the list of actions that can produce clues. Guard towers now display the name of the tower on hover. Loot has been reworked All reward items should be higher quality than before. Several new items to find inside 5 new necklaces 3 new small statues Some pirate accessories 2 new longsword varieties 2 new containers with some special properties Filler items are now selected from the following pool Gold/Silver/Electrum lump Chess Pieces Leather Pelts Ropes Jugs of alcohol Paper/Papyrus sheets A compass Fragments of a dioptra Different kinds of high quality rope Source Crystals Sleep Powder Gems(Chance to include 1 star gem as well) Will sometimes contain a single skilling imbue potion. Will sometimes give a medium/2h weapon, this has an additional chance to be made of moon metal. Strange bone fragments which can be collected to make a rare bone when you have enough fragments. Special village upkeep chips have been added as possible rewards. These chips come in various denominations, like coins, and may be used like coins to fund settlement upkeep. To add upkeep chips to a settlement's funds, activate the chip, then right click that village's settlement token. An option to deposit the chip will appear in the "Settlement" menu. If a settlement currently has any upkeep chips in its coffers, their total will be listed in any windows where deed coffer totals are listed. Upkeep chips provide the same value as normal coins when used for upkeep. In other words, a 20 copper upkeep chip will provide just as much village upkeep as an actual 20 copper coin. Upkeep chips in a village's coffers are always spent before normal currency, for both upkeep itself and any other action that takes funds from the coffers, such as deed expansion. (PVP only) Upkeep chips cannot be drained from the settlement, but they also do not protect against draining or disbanding from draining in any way. If a settlement's normal upkeep funds are fully drained but the village still has upkeep chips in its coffers, the settlement will still disband. Upkeep chips are not refunded if the village is disbanded for any reason, and cannot be removed from the village coffers after being deposited. Updated Notes Only available on our test server Oracle for testing. To use the test client, use the Test Client launcher shortcut or the Choose Client shortcut and choose the test client. For Steam, right-click Wurm Online in your Steam Library and click Properties. Then add a -c to the Launch Options. This will give you a prompt to select the Test Client. Logging in with a new username/password will register an account automatically and log you in. Selecting any item and using it on the ground will give a test option which allows you to change your skills and spawn in items like armour and weapons. You can also use it to change your faith, deity and spawn items like vesseled gems/statuette. Submitting the test menu will also heal you fully and restore your stamina. At the bottom of the test item creation option you can also spawn in a fully geared horse/ropes to get around quicker. Chance to find them from rare rolls on the following actions. For testing, we will have a 1/25 chance on non rare rolls as well. Farming/Harvesting Botanize/Forage Actions Digging Mining Investigating Archeology Sites Fishing/Dredging Praying Different difficulties, the harder the less common they will be but the larger the end rewards will be. Novice(1/5 chance on rare roll)(1-29ql) Will be between 2-3 steps long Will have very small combat challenges occasionally. Will not be terribly far from the locations they are found. Challenging(1/10 chance on rare roll, supreme rolls will always give one)(30-59ql) Can be 3-5 steps long Will have decent sized and not infrequent combat challenges. Will be a moderate distance from the locations they are found. Difficult(1/25 chance on rare roll, fantastic rolls will always give one)(60 - 100ql) Can be 4-6 steps long Will always have difficult creatures to kill for most every step Will be long distances away from the locations they are found. Possible types of clues Map clue, Shows a map with a location you must go to, will not be super close to villages or in an enclosed area. Right clicking the map and selecting the hint option will draw a circle on your ingame map with a general area to search, the area gets larger on harder clues. Deed Ruins clue, Works similar to the maps but will be focused on areas that past villages have existed. Right clicking the map and selecting the hint option will draw a circle on your ingame map with a general area to search, the area gets larger on harder clues. Will mark nearby disbanded villages on the map as well as the area to dig. Challenge clue, will give an area and some information about an item from a list of items to find. Any guard tower that are not enclosed or near or in a village Colossus that are not enclosed or near or in a village Mission Constructed items that are not in caves/enclosed or near villages. Will mention what map grid it is near, this becomes less precise the more difficult it is. Combat Challenges, when you try to dig up a location you may come across some creatures ambushing you which you must defeat before you can continue digging it up. Will go into hiding again after 45 minutes if not yet killed until you come and dig again, then the same remaining creatures will ambush you again. Creatures from this will drop no corpses but will give skill for fighting. Interaction to dig up clues Use a shovel on the ground and select the dig up treasure option which will check if any clues you have on you are at your location. Has some grace distance, you do not need to dig on the exact tile/item it picks just near it. This grace distance is even larger the easier the clue is. Red box is the test server starter village.

I should start this off by saying I'm fairly new-ish to the game, so a lot of mechanics/ways of doing things are quite new to me still One thing that seems to have stood out while doing buildings/moving items in crates is that there's not really a clean way to just move a crate up a floor, for example instead of building a 2nd Floor by bringing a crate up, I've had to drag items up and carry them along, with a low Body Strength this can result in a lot of time spent simply dragging objects around, but for now, its do-able. This suggestion really is to suggest some sort of lift/elevator system, be it mechanical with chains or simply be a rope-based pulley system that the player can utilise to move larger containers up/down floors without the need to bulk move items instead, this could possibly extend out to all items/entities also, but for now even items would be great It would be cool to get further opinions/suggestions from other players as I'm not the most creative, so any extensions to this idea would be appreciated Thanks 😄

Are you still staff and pretending not to be? or are you not staff and getting leaks? you seem to know a lot for someone who isnt staff and its impossible to know if your answers should be ignored or what? If you arent staff and arent getting leaks then how could your answers be right? its getting rather annoying.

+1 This has been asked for many times and I have to agree. Only having the ability to tame one animal at a time is fairly useless and not just from a wagon hitching perspective. If I see two creatures in the wild that I want to bring back to my deed but they must be tamed to lead them then I must tame one, lead it all the way back to my deed and pen it away from anything I don't want attacked by it. Then, if I still have time, I must go all the way back to were I found them(That's assuming I can find that spot again) and hope the other is still there. It also makes breeding hostile creatures a bit of a bloodbath at times. While breeding turtles I've had an issue where the new born agro killed the tamed mother. So I really do like the idea of breeding tamed animals resulting in non-agro offspring. Domestic dogs were bred from wild wolves after all.

Hey everyone. First of all, my apologees if I am bumping a super old thread, but I have no idea where else to turn to. I have already contacted Rockybalboa on the forum here, but since the deed was sold I am not even sure which forum account to ask about it now. If anyone knows something, please share. Current situation: The Glasshollow Market deed seems disbanded and a few people already placed small shacks and started to destroy roads. It just breaks my heart to see my favourite market destroyed in such a way. I'd love to make an efford to preserve the place somehow. My funds most definately won't be enough to place a deed large enough for all of it, but a small deed for a start would work, then maybe expanding, maybe with the help of a few other Glasshollow Market fans, would be feasible. If the current house writ owners could send a PM or just post here, and maybe a few others who would be interested to keep the market going, maybe we find a solution together?
