Hello fellow Harmonians! I have been working on my journal entries and some can be a real pain, such as having to learn 250 & 500 cooking recipes. The best part of it is that once learnt, they can be shared. So, sharing is caring. Below 5 books contain 410 recipes which will get your Cookbook to contain over 500. This is enough for both journal entries (Going the Distance & Destination Unknown). In order to borrow the books you must agree to following fair use terms: Must have sufficient paper prior to borrowing (410+) Learn, rewrite all the recipes and return 5 books with 410 or more unique recipes within 3 days. If that suits you please reply in this thread with your request. Thank You, Pantha

Oh my that would be lovely, yes please feel free to mail me anvils that are recovered from fallen deeds! Happy to cover the COD for that as well If possible, please rename the anvil with some information about where and when it was found - something like: (Celebration - U18 - 3/15/22) and I can calculate the approximate Wurm date from the real world date. If you also happen to know the deed name, either via archaeology or personal knowledge of the area, please include that as well. And if the deed name won't fit on the item, feel free to PM me. Deed names are the most difficult to recover and I don't have them for most items. I can imp the anvil enough to recover the maker name and then give it a fitting, museum quality placard like so:

I started by recovering large anvils from fallen deeds - they're almost always left behind on even the most picked over deeds. And with the maker's tag, I like to think that it's a way of keeping a memory of that deed alive. I've since tried to record the deed name, the location, and the Wurm year it was recovered ... because I've started building a museum to showcase them. The tiny figurines from 2021? If it's the full-sized goats from 2014 that certainly explains why I can't find them any more! Skull collectors, unite!

As the proud owner of one of the few black pearl necklaces in game, I will say that I love how rare they are. .. makes the gift that much more special (Ty @VirusMD) Also, while they have the generic medallion model when placed, they certainly have a unique model when worn!

Probably someone has noticed that I spend time in Non-English Help, offering English/Spanish/Basic Portuguese translation. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world and in my personal estimate, the 2nd most abundant language in games in general, forming large communities nder the moniker of "Hispanic". That said, the channel, intended as a multi-language CA help is slowly degenerating itself into a all-language Global chat, with mostly Spanish speakers coming together and talking about topics not related to asking for help. This is in large part due to the excitement of finding other speakers of the same language. In addition, not having another place to interact with others, as well as the fact that culturally, few Latin Americans (which holds the large majority of native Spanish speakers) can speak or understand English makes the channel a natural place for chitchat. All things considered, I believe Spanish global chat is direly needed, and I personally see it as something that will benefit the whole community. I believe Portuguese speakers would benefit from a channel since it is also an abundant community, and despite not being fully versed on the topic I would like to take the chance to speak on their behalf. It's a smaller community with more average knowledge of English, should be noted. I propose as well to enforce moderation in currently existing Non-English help to become essentially an all-language version of the English-Only CA help. Thanks and keep up this amazing game that brings people together. Ltnicolas. Bladesman of Barbarian's Forge. M11 Harmony. edit: Someone gave me his opinion on the topic and suggested it's not feasible to have more personnel. I would like to offer myself as a possible moderator candidate; I did not proposed myself initially out of humility, but because I don't want to sound like "we need more resources (people) and we are already short" I state my volunteering.

Hello Wurmians! It’s been a little bit since we’ve had some news ready to share but with the first part of the Exploration Update coming soon, there are a few sneak peeks I’m able to share with you all! One of the things I’m looking forward to the most with the Exploration update is the new opportunity for adventures while looking for treasures. While this is a work in progress and treasure maps could look a bit different from this at release, I do have a sneak peek here for your perusal: For those of you who hadn’t yet seen the Development Update posted by Keenan a few days ago, here’s some more information on the Treasure Hunts! When getting a rarity roll on actions like mining, fishing, and digging, you will have a chance at uncovering a lost map or clue to lead you to the location of a lost treasure. These clues come in several difficulties and types, each less common and more challenging than the last. The clues will include maps to nearby or farther away locations, hot and cold clues where you are told if you are getting closer or not since your last time checking, challenging clues leading you to a specific task, etc. The map clues are items that will visually lead you to a location and will come in varying quality levels, whereas the more challenging older maps may be missing sections or have been smudged or distorted by the hands of time. More difficult clues can have more than one step and may have creatures guarding the locations ready to pounce on anyone who dares to claim the rewards. Some rewards will be given at the end in a chest of treasure that can contain some new cosmetic items, rare metals like seryll, glimmersteel, or adamantine, and other valuable items. You can view the rest of the Development Update here: Another new feature coming with the Exploration Update may be an exciting one for those of you who enjoyed the ability to play checkers: playable chess, featuring some of your favorite critters and deities in the lands of Wurm Which side do you like best, White or Black? We do have an Easter themed impalong happening right now, located on Deliverance and hosted by VelvetSun. Those of you on the Southern Isles are welcome to attend and enjoy the holiday weekend surrounded by fellow Wurmians! Deliverance Renaissance Festival will be holding their Second Easter Weekend Impalong, April 15th 2022 (Good Friday) 18:00 CET / 12pm EST until Easter Sunday April 17th 2022 22:00 CET / 4pm EST. For information about the event, check out VelvetSun’s post on it here: That’s it for this issue of the Valrei International. I hope to have a lot more to share with you as the Exploration Update nears completion, until then Happy Wurming, and a wonderful Easter to those of you who celebrate!

I had a look today. The mine at 7543 2533 (at the end of the southwest path from the highway) is the start of an access tunnel, but the end had collapsed. I've opened it back up. It leads to 7687 2467, and from there you can follow the rest of the paths.

Hello everyone! I have a significant announcement regarding the update. We are splitting the Exploration update into two updates to get everything done. These updates will be related, with the second one building on the first, but this way, we can give you all a reward for your patience and take the time needed to make something that we can all be proud of. The first update will be setting the stage by bringing a journal rework and a feature that I know many have mentioned previously: Treasure Hunts. The update will also include a new board game and some changes that help set things up for the second update. This first update is tentative for the end of April or early May, depending on how development goes. The Journal Rework With this update, the journal rework will change the Journal system based on existing plans and player feedback. First, we will be introducing several new journal tiers geared toward new players, each themed around specific skills or groups of skills. These will come with their own title and sleep bonus rewards and should introduce newer players to various tasks that can be accomplished with those skills. We also know some players have felt a bit constrained by the existing journal tiers, feeling pressed into completing goals related to types of gameplay they aren't personally interested in. In response, we will also be making changes to existing tiers to provide more flexibility to players and account for more varied play styles. Most importantly, journal tiers will no longer require every goal within the tier to complete that tier and receive any related rewards. For all existing journal tiers and the new tiers coming with this update, one goal of your choice may be skipped entirely, and the tier can still be completed. An additional goal of appropriate difficulty has also been added to each tier that existed before this update. These alternative goals can also be completed by priests and can be completed on any server. Note: We have already had some feedback pertaining to the Journal Rework from our team. We are looking to implement a "Claim" button so that you can choose when to claim your rewards. We are also open to reviewing current goals, though there may be difficulty in transferring completion between new and old goals. Treasure Hunting When getting a rarity roll on actions like mining, fishing, and digging, you will have a chance at uncovering a lost map or clue to lead you to the location of a lost treasure. More difficult clues can have more than 1 step and may have creatures guarding the locations ready to pounce on anyone who dares to claim the rewards. Some rewards will be given at the end in a chest of treasure that can contain some new cosmetic items, rare metals like seryll, glimmersteel, or adamantine, and other valuable items. And Beyond The second update will include some more ambitious goals, including goblin camps, religious sites, and another feature that I’d like to tease later. The release date for this update will be determined by how the launch of the first update goes, as the priority will be on fixing any issues that arise. Finally, I’d like to talk about our development cycle and the rest of the year. While having extensive updates is lovely, I plan to return to a time when we had more minor updates more frequently, with more comprehensive features coming once or twice a year. This way, we can keep some developers on quality of life improvements and bug fixes, and some developers pushing forward on new features. The lack of context-switching will help speed up development, and the more frequent updates will keep Wurm fresh and healthy. As I suspect Exploration will push into late spring or early summer for the second update, the rest of the year will be dedicated to the things I mentioned previously. This includes PvP (Epic, Chaos, and Defiance), new decorative options, and reviewing specific skills for improvements. Those skills will likely have meditation and another look at animal husbandry. This will also include the aforementioned bug fixing and quality of life improvements, which will become more frequent. I hope this post helps shed some light on what is coming in the future, and as always, please let us know what you think! Happy Wurming!

Suggestion: re-add the ore cap while in Freedom Isles which was previously in the game. Raise the cap to somewhere between 90 to 95ql instead of 50ql. I feel like players should be incentivized to take part in the full version of the game.

When the game is looking through the player's inventory for a plank, or shaft, or brick to add to a fence, or wall, or bridge... could we NOT use the rare and supreme and fantastic materials that they have been carefully carrying around? Asking for a friend or two.

As another lucky owner of one of the pearl necklaces I agree with what Goldfinch said. They do have a unique model when worn, which makes them special, not to mention how hard it is to find the black pearl (took me a very long time to finish my necklace and in the end I did have to buy the black pearl, which I don't mind at all.) I'd not like to see them become commonplace, it's nice to have some rare to find items, but I'd also not mind them being a tad easier to find then they currently are.

Sidereal, what should I do with anvils I find at abandoned places? Should I mail them to you? Or does this only work when this is being lived in the moment?

WASD is fine, who would ever complain about that? I'm talking about the way we control the camera, And I can't think of any other game that does it like wurm does. The camera is standard controlled with the right mouse button as far as i know. And right mouse menu's are not from this time, I myself hardly ever use them any more because we've got new ways to control the game now. Also I'm not asking to get rid of the current way of controlling the game, I know that many people prefer this way because they got used to it. I would probably also stick with the system we have right now because I've been using it for 10 years and i'm fine with it. The game confuses new players, they don't stick around and we could use some. The sandbox mmo genre is pretty popular atm, and quite a few other sandbox games with slow gameplay don't seem to have quite the retention problem Wurm has. Another thing, in the tutorial you can ask the player to move the camera with the mouse, if they press the left mouse button they get put on the system we have now, if they press the right mouse button they get their controls changed that way.

Very good video, but it's Josh, so it's kinda obvious. For me, it's a good reminder of things, that I have forgotten or get used to. - How hard it is, for new player, to do anything, and worse, how much time consuming. Players with good accounts dig, mine and build in seconds. - How many clunky animations, no collision with objects and many other poorly done things it has. I think, we all just get used to it, after all those years, so we practically do not see it. Every developer of Wurm Online should watch this video for sure.

ASDW, up, down, left, right arrows... .hit your number pad key use those arrows, whats not to understand? These keys have been the staple of movement since ... well, forever as far as I know at Least 40 years of computer game play. Is it possible that they don't understand how to move withtout a control pad? And see the last quote on how to set your own movement keys to your own peferance. Sht dude, if you think new players have a hard time moving around on basic use movement keys since mosses played duke nukem, wtf do you think is gonna happen if they can't right click anything to open a chest, embark on horse, or hell even Eat or Drink something. Don't think there's enough combo hotkeys on a standard kb to cover every conceivable variable that a person can do in wurm with out being able to right click menu some commands. Cause gawd knows players have never Ever had to explore a games settings and adjust them...

[21:25:31] The items silently disappear from the spirit castle. You expect them to reach Ctpax in less than ten minutes. Thank you Ajala and Zach, this was very much appreciated. Note to those next in line: When you read the recipes, they may not show up in your cookbook list at first (this happened to me). However, you'll see the known recipe number at the top increase with every read. A relog fixed it for me so that they visibly showed up in the list after. Otherwise, don't drink and recipe! Good luck!

Aw thank you very much for the wonderful words of support Etherdrifter, Spolmit, Ltnicolas, Jas and Nirav. ❤️ Opening up about what's been going on helped. When you've got a daunting task with a lot of people expecting results, the passage of time is like a pressure cooker. The more time passes, the more the pressure builds up because in your own mind you're imagining that everyone is getting impatient with you (although the reality is that everyone is actually focused on their own lives and not really thinking about you and your task) and you feel like the longer time you take, the more glorious the end result will have to be, which makes things even worse. So by telling you guys what's been going on, it's exactly like finally taking the lid off that pressure cooker and letting the steam out before it blows hehe.

I am glad to see that some of the ideas from Mods of Wurm Unlimited are making it over to Wurm Online. The treasure map mod is a lot of fun and makes us get of deed and explore. The way its done in Unlimited is you get a general direction and distance (think locate soul) so the map version for Online may be a bit easyer. I know the Online community will enjoy it. I also hope that the chess set saves the position of the pieces so you all can pick it up and play later.
