    It has come to my attention that there is an RMT scam doing the rounds. If you've recently posted a WTB or similar thread, you may have been contacted by a brand-new account, saying he knows a guy who has the thing you want, and you should contact his friend by email. If you do, you'll get a bit of to and fro, and then be offered something for real-world cash. THIS IS A SCAM! Needless to say, if you send any cash, you'll never see whatever it is you thought you were buying, and a similar warning goes for any personal details you share. The best is to report the PM (on the forums, you can use the report link) and then delete and ignore it. You can contact moderation staff for other channels as well. Please be careful out there! I have recently cleaned up one such account - if you received a PM notification email (with something like "I know a guy who has the XXX you want, you can email him at blahblah@gmail.com"), but then couldn't find the PM, that's because the spam account got nuked off the forums, along with its PMs. It's also worth noting that trading any game assets for real money (i.e. real money trading, or RMT) is explicitly against the rules, and will get you banned.

    Change: Items with a skin applied to them now count as decorations and will no longer take decay damage on a deeds with at least 30 days upkeep.

    We're still hard at work on this, and I'm working on getting something we can show. I wanted something more tangible than just "here's a general idea", but we may go with that. I also can't believe it's been three weeks already... Exploration has slid a bit due to the development of what I consider to be the headlining feature having had a late start. This was pushed due to immediate needs concerning the shop. I'm wanting to have something out by late April at this point, though as I said in my original post here, I'm not against moving these dates to make sure we're delivering something good. I will admit that animal husbandry has been rather distant on our minds. I'm hesitant to pull resources off of the exploration update to look into this, but I'll see what we can do. The honest truth is that Exploration didn't really ramp up much until this year. It was scoped out, some features were worked on, but it wasn't started in earnest until February. That's why I'm also hesitant to drop the features being worked on as I really want some nice screenshots and tangible things to show. Most of the work is server-side, which means very little to show off graphically at the moment. The client work is beginning soon. I'm also considering our current development cycle. We'll still have major features, but instead of several at once, I'm thinking of a return to a major focus on one or two, and smaller updates going out while that's in development. For reference, there are 7 features that I consider major in various states of completeness, though we'll likely be splitting them up into multiple releases due to the timeline being what it is. I feel that we need more to fill the gaps between major features, so there's less apparent silence from us and more exciting things like QoL improvements and so forth. I hope this answers some questions. I'll do a larger post with the status of everything.

    "Near future", I don't think it means what you think it means! Currently, I don't even know if the exploration update is even something I could get excited about. We have nothing except the term "exploration update", and many promises to tell us more soon. This in GCG's February post to investors: I think another Inigo quote is fitting; I wonder if they are using the same wind we are using. (Yes, a bit nonsensical, but conveys my sense that my experience of what is happening in Wurm space and GCG's statements about what is happening in Wurm space just don't match up).

    Hey Saya, This is an ambitious project and one that may try your patience. Doing such long tunnels would take a long, long time. There have been a number of people who have started long tunnels in the past on Cele (although nothing remotely as massive as you are proposing), and pretty much all of them gave up half way through. The resulting problem is that we now have a bunch of unfinished tunnels from nowhere to nowhere, which are half collapsed, but which severely hamper people's private mines under their deeds. It's an issue. There are also a few other issues that you would encounter. For instance: The lines you drew go under a number of deeds (including mine). All those deeds have private mines underneath and you would have do to a large number of complex detours. Those detours may be trickier than you realize, as you would have to carefully weave between deeds, most of them you may not even be aware of. Such detours would then play havoc with new deeds, where people would claim land only to realize there is a highway underneath and they can't have a private mine. You would have to reinforce every single cell of the tunnel, or the tunnel would simply collapse. Shortly after making it, it would be increasingly unpassable in more and more locations. Reinforcing such a number of tiles is... let's say... a job that I would not wish upon my worst enemy. It would take forever and require tons and tons of materials. The amount of veins you would have to mine out on the way would be staggering. And many of those veins are probably high quality veins that people of Cele could use instead, when they need them. A project of such a scale would need a community to accomplish. Have a quick look at other projects on Cele (which you can find on this board) and how much time they took and how many people worked on them. And none of them were remotely of the scale you propose. I would argue that before such a project is undertaken, you ask Cele inhabitants whether there is actually a NEED for such a highway system on the server. In my view, connecting the opposite shores is not something we would need here on our server. Hardly anyone ever makes such trips. The disruption of land under the server would not be worth it, especially since there is a strong possibility that a project of such a scale would be quickly abandoned, leaving scars under the land in wrong places. I am sorry to be a party pooper here. But I honestly don't think Cele needs such a project. That's my view, of course. Others can chime in. However, I do applaud your enterprising spirit. May I redirect your attention to perhaps improving the highway system on the surface of Cele instead? You can find out who needs better connections and help the server that way. People would actually use a good highway system much more often than long tunnels from one shore to another. There are also some water passages around the server that desperately need dredging. We don't mind traveling around the Cele. We don't need massive tunnels. The outdoors are fun to experience as we travel. But admittedly, there are quite a few sea passages that cannot be navigated properly and having them dredged to allow all ships would be a great, useful boost to getting around.

    Rip AH. I'm not convinced the new system is better than the old one and it kind of looks like the devs have forgotten about the AH fixes that needs to be done. High AH skill is still meh. The RNG is bad. The split to speed and draft is.. Well.. Who asked for this? Like, is this a good change? I'm sure someone out there thinks so, but I don't. I think this change made the game worse, not better, but that's just the opinion of a single player. I'll have as much hope of the devs fixing AH as i have of them fixing fishing and will keep having that much hope until proven otherwise.

    Adds containers for fuel as an addon to your forges/kilns/ovens etc. Refills the heater when the fire is about to go out fuel Storage. Does NOT take logs but anything else that can burn. NEEDS to be put on the same tile of the heater item. After setting it up you need to open the feeder once to add it to the database.     There was a pretty vocal push for this in the priest thread, so I think it's deserving of a proper thread since the reason for bounce back was pretty weak (and I mean that in the most polite way possible) For years people have wanted a spell with this effect so they wouldn't need to do silly things like balancing bad and severe wounds with bad healing covers. Now that the priest changes have happened with some new spells being added, now seems a perfect time to make this happen. There are a lot of good reasons to make this happen, beyond adding value to gods already on the table. Mag is lacking in good spells for him to cast on items, since Stone Strike is pretty niche in its own way. Less actions = less chances to score an affinity This in its own way is a good balance point. It means this is only likely to be used by the people who need to get some serious grind in where their current skills might hinder them (high stamina/path of power accounts) Offers more spell variety for tools So far, we only really slap one or two casts on our tools. We either have only CoC or WoA, both, or BoTD (with BoTD being rarer since Lib spells on Freedom are pretty crappy as it is) By adding a spell for slower actions, we increase the variety we see on tools, opening more options for priests to fund their premium time now RMT is going bye bye and most importantly, give a better player experience without needing to do dumb stuff we don't enjoy (wound balancing) In the run up to Steam, this could be considered a great feature to add to the list of things brought in to polish the game for release. How well Steam goes could be affected pretty heavily by the current Wurm population. With a lot of rocky announcements and general unease from the community, I think this would do a lot to help relieve the older, veteran playerbase who want to see some good QoL that will help them play.

    Hi all, We had a service interruption today that affected the following game servers: Affliction Celebration Elevation Harmony The root cause of the outage was network-related, with the public-facing network link dropping. Our hosting provider was able to gain access to the machine and gracefully shutdown the four servers before restarting and resolving the network issue. Timeline (All times in CET/Server Time): 20:16 - Alert that four game servers went offline simultaneously. 20:18 - Unable to ping the host, hosting provider notified. 20:26 - Hosting provider confirms a problem and is looking into the situation. 20:59 - Provider is still troubleshooting the issue, but indicates that it could be hardware failure. 21:16 - Provider is able to log into the host and gracefully shutdown the game servers. 21:23 - Host is restarted. 21:30 - Ping! The host is now responding again. 21:35 - Max begins starting up the game servers again, confirming their status. 21:45 - Outage resolved. Due to the outage, we will be awarding 5 hours of sleep bonus during the next maintenance restart on this coming Tuesday. This will be global as we are aware that folks were traveling at the time of the outage and therefore were impacted while not residing on the affected servers. Thank you, and happy Wurming!

    The only thing I can really think of is that we do need more communication with our provider when these situations arise. There was a decent gap of time where I wanted to provide something more than "We're looking into it". The flip side of this though is not bothering the people working on the problem and letting them do the work. There needs to be a balance in that. So that's something we'll be striving towards.

    Hey all. Long time. Thought I'd drop in and share this. Judas Priest is baaaaaack. Still going strong for 50 years and after the near tragedy of Richie (lead guitar) having a ruptured aortic aneurysm on stage during the song Painkiller, Sept 26 in Kentucky. He finished the set and collapsed back stage after the show. He nearly died. That's one brave, strong man who wouldn't stop the show, though he knew something was horribly wrong and in pain. He's back now and touring again, and playing his backside off as usual. (can see the scar from the open heart surgery in some of the close up shots). Halford is still going strong too, at 70 yrs old. He has had his share of misfortunes as well, up to and including fighting cancer more than once. Kudos to them. All respect! I had tickets for the Oct 6 show, which got cancelled of course, due to Richie's misfortune a week earlier and then was unable to go when it resumed. Someday I hope. p.s. And for all those young idiots who always jump on the dis-the-boomers bandwagon at any opportunity, and who think that makes them look "cool," just ask yourself how you yourself will deal with what these guys (and many, many others) have dealt with for 50 years. Will you have the fortitude to carry on? Don't kid yourself, it'll happen to you someday too and there's nothing you can do about it no matter what they're telling y'all these days. Catch y'all later, perhaps.

    I know the area around p24 pretty well, including below ground. There are extensive reinforced tunnel systems around, there's no way you can tunnel straight through. Some of them are mine, including existing boat tunnels. Two highways pass through the area, one of them partly through tunnels, and there's really no need for more. I'd be extremely nonplussed by someone cutting through my mine network. I'd strongly suggest a different project.

    I've seen suggestion for clay vases but It would be very nice to also be able to craft flower vases from marble, silver, gold, etc. Vases that will display the color and type of flowers we choose to add to them and in the case of clay ones the color vase we choose via dye. Also glass vases if we ever get glassblowing in Wurm which would hopefully come in a myriad of colors.

    There's really no need to speculate. The crash described in this thread (and yours) is happening deep inside Java itself, and we have no symbols to know what exactly it is doing. It's not doing an "update", it's doing a full garbage collection run that has to stop everything. I've profiled it, I get >1s full GC runs every so often unless I run with a version of Java that isn't a decade out of date. That's kind of working as intended and normal. The solution to JasonNovi's crashes were to run with an updated version of Java. The solution to your crashes is likely the same. The real solution is for the Wurm devs to finally update Java, either to the latest patch release of Java 8, or to another major version. It is frankly baffling that they haven't, but such is life.

    Not at all, i dont do farming. Just roam around with it and killing whatever tried to kill me! Just though about getting that title Reaper of Souls, if i get that skin 🤫 Forgot to mention, i cut down weeds with it! Yes those rose bushes, raseberries, blueberries, etc.

    I'm personally never going to get a skin for a weapon or shield, whether thru the monthly marks store or if they were available for purchase elsewhere. I will get the skins for decorations, like the just released flower pot, or the ones for chests, etc. if I like them enough and think they're worth a month's worth of premium. I have several of those that I particularly liked. Why would I buy a skin for a weapon I don't use, unless it was for decoration? But as another thread on here points out, there is no good way to display those, so I'd just be fighting the decay battle on it. I got the dragon skin for my staff a few months ago, and while it looks nice when it's sitting out on a table I found that it was obtrusive when I played since I play in first person. I ended up trading it for a comparable staff and some imping. So, yeah, won't buy another skin for a weapon or shield, no matter what others say.

    I've seen more decorative items purchased then those for weapons and shields etc. Most players tend to stick to a certain weapon and thus only buy skins for that particular item while the decorative skins appeal to many more players. I myself have three decorative skins and not one weapon or shield skin. Those I know who have purchased weapon skins tend to use those items just for decoration as well. I'm often asked to make gold or electrum items for their skins so they can display their fancy gold colored skinned weapons as decorations. As to the OP I like the idea of more craftable items. Isn't that one of the things wurm prides itself on is the craftability it offers?

    This is it for me. We literally have a flowerpot, with mechanics to reduce decay by watering them, and this was applied to a jar. The fact it's even a skin at all is odd

    Wurm is an alternative world and I guess many found that there is no "end game". Many leave for a while but come back to continue the adventure. (Weird way to say after a decade I still have most skills under 90 and really don't care...)

    Yeah splitting draft and speed traits is most annoying change for me, as I care nothing about accustomed to water and would prefer some draft traits along my speed traits which is nightmare to obtain

    You technically need only one 4-draft male donkey, rest is having big herd of female horses, and spinning your wheel of luck(rng), until you get several 4D mules, draft fem horses should improve the chances, after last fix, but it's still wild rng.. not like before 50:50% or better odds to clone traits with high skill. Compare pvp and pve breeding of animals and aging, you might now need a pillowroom to calm down or just go sprinkle 1-2 silver to arm your cart/wagon/whatever with a pair or 2 of whatever animals, breeding from scratch is time consuming and just a gamble, 95 skill does nothing to improve your odds, you still dice roll for scrap pile of traits that might barely be worth to keep that 3 speed because of it's skin, oh wait that doesn't reliably transfer by simple rules either and only speed trait sticks to skins, no draft op kind now. reminds me of

    It is what it is should not be an excuse to take a messed up system and change it thus leaving a complete RNG shemozzle. Instead, admit it is a shemozzle and start developing it from scratch.

    - I do agree, that the speed horses market has died out a lot. - Bisons are still very useful to players that cannot afford horse gear, there are still newer players and players that have limited amounts of silver to spend and horse gear may not be their priority. Draft bisons are still selling. - Everybody had to start from scratch though, after those changes were implemented. It took a long time to get the current new speed and draft horses/bisons out of previous 5 speeds. It would be very unfair to change things in a way, that we would have to start over yet again. - I wouldnt say breeding mules is too painful - it does require more effort, yes, but for for me personally, that is just part of playing the game and loving breeding. - High Animal Husbandry players are still penalized, I have multiple alts with different AH levels because of this reason. I do think it should be possible to be able to breed efficiently using only one character, but it is, what it is.

    Indeed this is so true! The AH changes have messed up things so badly that I now no longer have any interest in breeding. Here are some of the reasons why: - there is now no longer any market for speed horses, as only 1 or 2 are needed as steeds per player - there is not much need for bison, as now all they are good for is bison milk, since draft horses and mules are better for pulling vehicles - none of my bison have output or draft traits, only speed traits so I have to start from scratch for output traits - my old horses have a mix of speed and draft traits, making them not suitable to try and breed draft horses, so why bother as would have to start from scratch to get draft horses - breeding mules up to 4 draft is too painful to contemplate - as one needs a 4 draft donkey with a 4 draft horse to get a 4 draft mule, so cannot be bothered, too much RNG and - and mules are only slightly better than draft horses at pulling, so really not worth the effort - plus they are rather ugly and have too many names the same. Did the developers think about the possible consequences from the AH changes they made? It would seem not. The AH changes were supposed to remove ONLY the penalties to high AH skills, but instead we have this mess. What a shame!

    It took me 5 months from the AH update to fluke a horse of the traits that I wanted to breed, since then it has taken a further 4 months to get my first breeding pair and oddly a second in fairly quick succession. 9 months shouldn't be an acceptable time frame IMO.     You can also mention the combat update in this regard. It have improvments and you see the intentions but on the other side it fail to toutch on it in a meaningfull way and change relativly littel.
