Hello all! I’d like to give an update on the development of Wurm Online and a small look into future plans for the game. I apologize for how late this post is as well as how high-level it is. The changes in the development team that was announced in the previous Valrei International has made it hard to accurately estimate everything we’d like to accomplish. With that said, let’s dive in! For Q1, we’re still hard at work on the exploration update, which has a tentative release date of the end of March or early April. There are also bug fixes to be had and ongoing QoL changes that we’re looking to make as smaller updates. Finally, we’d like to wrap up some concerns Defiance players have had regarding meditation paths and player-made kingdoms. I feel I should address the caffeine changes and the feedback surrounding them. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that the community feels we ignored them with this, and I understand where that is coming from. We had a lot of internal discussions regarding this feature and the feedback provided, but ultimately, we decided to go with a plan very similar to what we originally posted at the start of that thread. We should have communicated better, and for that, I am truly sorry. I would like to continue soliciting feedback from the community, and I hope to do better in the future with regard to communicating on those feedback threads. As for the feature, we will continue to monitor and make adjustments where necessary. I’d like to address the release date for the exploration update as well. While the ideas were mostly fleshed out regarding the update, there wasn’t much development work put into it until somewhat recently. This was due to a number of things, but rather than rushing out a disappointing update, I made the call to push it back and do better. As for what will be in the exploration update, I’d like to leave that for Demona to introduce in future Valrei International editions. We’ll have plenty of teasers and information to share in the near future! For Q2 and beyond, we would like to focus on several things: we would like to add more building and decoration options, put attention on PvP and the needs of that community, as well as take a look over the skills we have and see where we can improve the experience of some such as meditation. There’s also work that needs to be done with regards to internal tools and external services, such as the shop. This will obviously distract us slightly from development on the core Wurm experience, but it is required for the continued support of the game. Finally, a word on VR. This was announced last year, but since then there’s been a number of things identified that must come before we can delve into the world of virtual reality. Namely, we need support for controllers, better performance from the client, and to rethink how you would interact with the world of Wurm while in virtual reality. This is not a trivial amount of work, but it brings benefits beyond enabling virtual reality support. That's all I have for now. Happy Wurming!

I had a great time last year! If I am able to attend (depends on the plans my better half makes) I will be glad to help out imping Carp, FC, Leather and stonecutting/masonry - and can help a bit at a forge as well to at least get things to mid level for the experts to finish them off.

I can say only that I wish Bloodreina all the best as a precious community member, and wish that s/he comes out unharmed from the quagmire. Yet, though I understand Bloodreina's feelings, I deeply frown upon those fanning the flames, I don't want to name, but ashamably even a team member is among them. Do you forget that Wurm is an international community, hosting people from many countries, so probably both sides of the conflict? And that taking sides is always dangerous? I do not want to elaborate further, but fanning that conflict inside the Wurm community is the most stupid thing to do. I hope the war will end soon, and Bloodreina come back.

Even better, is fixing animal husbandry to make it less horrible no longer on the cards? The system is far from a joy to work with still

Downstown is a newbie friendly server hosted in Dallas by pingperfect. We are set 10x Skill/Action and heavily modded. There are treasure chests spread throughout the land with coin and goodies to be used at a special trader in a forgotten city deep in the heart of Downstown. The currency found in the chests can be used to buy special equipment and items at the strange trader who keeps watch over the ancient abandoned city. It would be nice if something actually happened when receiving a Moment of Inspiration during farming actions, even if it's just something entertaining or humorous. Maybe you shoo a pilfering bird out of the rows, spawning a chicken, hen, rooster or pheasant? Might pick a decent grub off one of the plants for fishing? Get a short-term effect which causes you to give off a leafy green glow? Possibly gain a funny title if you experience a sufficient number of inspired moments while farming? Given how common an experience it is for people who do a lot of farming, it probably ought not be anything spectacular, so much as the sort of thing which might give one a chuckle.

I noticed this afternoon that it's not possible to move BCUs up ladders. It would be nice if this were enabled to match the rest of the bulk containers.

So @brattygirlbrought stuff to my deed about a year ago and just came to visit today and she can still pick up the things she dropped for me, even though it's been a year and no permissions exist to give her permission to take them. Can add more information if required and bratty said she can find the logs of when she dropped them off should that be necessary.

@groundchuck The going rate of seryll, glimmersteel and adamantine has been 4s a kg. +/- a silver for lower or higher quality and in bulk. I did not set these rates. Supply and Demand has set those rates. Currently Drake sets are going for 1.5g to 2g, and Scale sets are going for 4g or so. Are you going to say people are gouging those prices as well? The market of wurm goes up and down as supply and demand changes. Just like any economy. Before the NFI servers were added rare iron tools were 4-5s per and supremes were going for 20-25 per. (Of course, some were higher this is just an average). Now rares are going for 6-8s (for a while upwards of 10s), and supremes are going for 40-50s+. The reason being a lot of the bulk spammers left to go to NFI and prices shot up. I am sorry you think I am price gouging, but I am not. If you go to past auctions for seryll plate sets you will see them near my price, as well as some higher. Haloo! I am Siina in-game and originally started the Steam release on Cadence. I played there, founding Cutienautica and then later Maplenut Grove, before going on a hiatus. Now that I am back, a friend shipped me to Harmony, where I spent a few days with @LynDand the others are Oak Hill. Now I've got my own deed, Rosewood Forest, near them -- it is an entire neighbourhood of amazing people. Originally I started on Independence some 12-14 years ago, but after a few years life got in the way, and I didn't come back until the Steam release. A friend asked if I'd heard of the game, and the rest is history. I love building and farming, and right now Rosewood Forest is shaping up to be a cosy little place.

For anyone passing by local or just curious or even following this anymore, after 5 months I'm in the final stages. -The island's shape is finalized, it's rising fast -I have decided to deed over it to protect the island and because now I'm pretty fond of it. It's been deeded as Blackflame Island and will have a 7x7 small Keep as it's only building -The island will, as promised, remain otherwise natural and untouched -1st pass of dredging complete and I've started the 2nd and final pass -All ships are able to sail these waters now After the 2nd and last pass of dredging around the island, I'll start replanting the island and call it done.

Heyo, name is Kellen in game o/ I do a bit of everything skillwise as I mainly just level as I need stuff. Currently sitting at 84 Carpentry, 76 Digging, 74 Fighting, 71 Masonry, and 70 Blacksmithing as my higher skills and I have started the slow build of Ship Building recently (currently about 800 pieces into a Knarr). When the server first started I helped found Emberwynn Harbor with a group of friends at G9. After fulfilling bulk orders nonstop for the first 6 or so months we took a break from orders to actually build up the deed while others took a break from the game in general. After about a month of being on break others had lost interest in the game so a friend and I made our way to live at Moenia (P19ish). Lived there for a few months before players started disappearing again and decided to go make my own deed at Erith (H9). After being at Erith for about a month I convinced my wife (Allyia) to try out the game and she has been accompanying me ever since She mainly works on Farming, Animal Husbandry, and Leatherworking. Since Erith has been founded (have been trying to keep the deed fairly simple) we have done some terraforming (actually had to fix what previous players had destroyed before we could start building), a small two story house, a small two story barn, a decent sized warehouse to hoard all of our junk, a canal leading into an underground dock where our blacksmith is, and have made a botanical garden where we keep our deer Before the steam release I had played Wurm for maybe a couple of months on Xanadu but never really got the hook until the steam release. I love to keep terrain as natural as possible as the huge flat deeds just seem unappealing. That being said, Asgarde (in addition to the Bifrost Canal) has got to be my favorite deed on Harmony that I have seen

Lovely thread idea! My name's Lexington, going by Brython in-game and on here. I mainly do fine carpentry, dyes, and various cooking jobs. I helped start Bay of Twelve (E15) this November, moving to form Saint Brighid (D14) in early-mid December. This is my first server and have only been playing since November, and my main goal is to similarly play naturally and form lots of friendships, while making a lovely eden for myself and my friends.

Perfect time for 2 and 3 tile gates!
