So I love the AH update, I really do. (CHONKY PONEHS FOR LYFE!) But in my opinion mules could really do with some improvements! For one, and this is the most important thing for me, they really are too small. Especially when you consider their pulling power! They're stronger than 4 draft horses but are somehow less than half the size!? I'd really like to see them a bit bigger and be a size that fits their performance better. Another thing (that I don't expect to see any time soon but would be nice!) would be to have mules' colours vary according to the colour of their horse mother. ie if you had an ebony mare you could get a black mule, and so on. I attach some pictures to show what I mean both in terms of size and colour variation. Ebony mule Chestnut mules Grey mule Also, this:

The longer I play, the more use I find for all the clever bells and whistles that Wurm Assistant provides (thanks Aldur!) I wanted to start this topic as a way to collect some of the more clever ways WA can be used. Archaeology Alert when an archaeology report is complete and that it's time to look for the cache: look for the phrase 'complete the location details in the report' in the Events log, and play a sound Triggers -> Configure -> Add -> Simple, then: Apply to logs: Event; Log Entry Content: "complete the location details in the report"; and then select an appropriate alert sound from the sound picker Rifts Alert when a caster begins casting Ice Pillar so you can retreat before taking damage: look for the phrase 'begins cooling the air heavily' in the Combat log, and play a sound Triggers -> Configure -> Add -> Simple, then: Apply to logs: Combat; Log Entry Content: "begins cooling the air heavily"; and then select an appropriate alert sound from the sound picker Alert when a caster casts Fireball so you can retreat before taking too much damage: look for the phrase 'casts a fireball spell', and play a sound Triggers -> Configure -> Add -> Simple, then: Apply to logs: Combat; Log Entry Content: "casts a fireball spell; and then select an appropriate alert sound from the sound picker What are some of the clever and interesting tweaks y'all have made to Wurm Assistant to make your wurm life easier?

Change the wall types to be in sub categories based on that type, instead of one giant list. Also have the starting position of those wall types "collapsed" instead, along with fence types as well. Right now fences for instance start as "expanded" and it is a bit of scrolling to get to items lower on the list.

I am unsure why it is the way it is, but when you are moving, you cannot plan an interior wall to a structure: [16:31:29] You must not move while doing that. This is odd since you can both plan the tiles of a structure, and interior floors, ladders, roofs ect while in motion. Annoying when moving and planning several different wall plans out... Please change ?

If you consider the ethnicity of the earth, only a minority is represented in Wurm. This has been brought up many times and we really aren't making progress. Character models are super cheesy anyway, so isn't it time for an overhaul? If you don't care about diversity for ethical reasons, you SHOULD care about it for economic reasons. A lot of people like to bond with their characters and they do so by customizing their appearance into something they can connect with. If the models are based on graphics from 15 years ago and have minimal diversity, you are ignoring the majority of your potential player base. Please get this on the roadmap.

Christmas door wreaths, decorations using ivy, since ivy has no real use atm except for decorative trellises. Hanging Mistletoe, harvested from trees (Mistletoe is a tree parasite) can use em in door wreaths too maybe. Yule log... Paper chains, can be dyed

may they can finally fix this while they are on it, the crafting windows shows this on the stone fences list: the right click menu uses a diferent term for low walls:

Welcome to Little Venice A purpose built whole-town market on eastern Release with 25 shops and counting, all lovingly decorated with curated and themed stock inventories. Last restocked: 25/1/22 ~ What do we sell? Things we sell incluuuude (*deep breath*) bloods, skins, potions, rares, Christmas and Halloween gifts, PMK items, dyes, armour, weapons, tools, storage solutions, cooking equipment, booze, lamps and streetlights, shoulderpads, masks, bulk supplies, fishing gear, runes, pottery, fine furnishings, carpets and rugs, arch-runed items, arch-woods, frag bundles, horses, hellies, champs and other creatures of interest and more. The whole market is self-service and inventory changes frequently, so you can shop whenever you fancy from the comfort of your knarr or park up and explore on foot. Getting late? All suites at the Villa Venezia inn are free to use and if you fancy a bit of ambience, the Rum Runner Tavern is decorated old British pub-style so you can chill out in style. ~ Where are we? Release, I/J23, accessible by boat or (for the brave or those travelling light) a short swim from the western shore of the Eastern peninsula. (We recommend the boat so you can haul loot home). For those of you who were previously patrons of Brambleheim market just to the south, all merchants have now moved from there into even fancier lodgings at Little Venice. Easy to reach sailing down from the north east border, up from the centre south border, through the Tarawick Canal to the west or through the Cultor Canalis to the east. Need more convincing? How about a little a tour? It took a week to make the island, two and a half weeks to build the deed, and two months to decorate the darn thing! (But I said I'd get it open by Christmas and here we are, just about )

Counterpoint - mules are harder to make as you need good lines of both donkeys and horses to get them.

Rather have racial horses ahead of this nonsense... haven't seen mule races to be a thing.. I get the dense muscle etc blah blah, yet.. who the hell have ever seen mule races or a movie(hard to actually see real ones unless you're in certain area) with carts/wagons etc... what do people use horses or mules? Atrocity to mount balance.. all that mules are. Donkey/mules are peasant/jipsy choice because they are cheap.. they are far from top-notch or endgame content.. what we have is just sad overpowered creature template, sadly... Sure give them colors... but nerf the derp powers. +/-1

It is almost impossible to see what you have selected in the current user interface. The contrast is so weak it very hard to distinguish what selected and what not. The background is dark brown and selected text is dark blue background color. https://nd.nl.tab.digital/s/XjX9dHFmg28ag5B I wish to be able to change the colors used, ideal all colors or at least the colors used for different texts. I'm the opposite of Yggdrasil - If all they had time for was to add more skin tones I'd be thrilled. I hadn't realized they didn't have any dark skin tones, and went to make an alt with dark skin. I was shocked that there weren't at least 2 or 3 dark skin tones that are as old and odd looking as the lighter ones we currently have. I'd be super happy if they just added 2-3 dark skin tones. It seems like that would be the absolute easiest way for the development team to address the lack of diversity. Give a volunteer dev a week or two (or month or two - I don't have a clue what the complexity of this change is) and tell them to figure out how to add the new dark tones to the UI. As a bonus - although not required - Maybe add a one time use iron mirror (vs the fancy gold one) for sale inexpensively at traders for a limited time that only allows switching your skin tone to one of the new shades, and maybe the hair color to a darker shade too. Don't get me wrong - I'd absolutely LOVE to see an overhaul of the way the toons look - but in the mean time let's take care of this ridiculous oversight.

-1, mules should be between donkeys and draft horses. Draft horses should be the endgame not the ugly mules!

These rings give certain situational bonuses that consume "charges". The first time you put it on it uses 1 charge then every hour another one is used up. Common lasts 50 hours, Rare 75, Supreme 100, Fantastic 150 (i.e. has this many charges). When removed they cause negative effect for 5 minutes depending on which gem is inside.

Feature Request Allow for the application of concrete on the corners of Cave Ceilings, each application would lower the height of the ceiling by one slope. Reason For Request I have recently been working on a 'cave deed', one of the goals of the deed was to mine along the exterior of the rock layer to follow the natural contour of the rock face. Of course when you start to raise the ceiling close to the slope on the outside you ultimately receive error messages and cannot proceed (which of course makes sense). What happens is that if you get too close to the limit you can start to get graphical glitches along the lines of. Objects from the exterior appearing partially in your mine. In the case of shrubs this sometimes will happen only "some of the time" (weather driven, I believe). From certain angles when viewing the rock surface from the exterior you can see 'black lines' around the tile edges / corners. If there a thin layer of dirt with a tree for example the stump might show through For what I assume are well considered reasons there are slope limitations to applying concrete on the exterior of the rock surface (ie: slopes > 40). So I reason by being able to lower the ceiling height on the inside would provide a tool to mitigate these graphical nuisances without impacting these well considered reasons. Limitations I think there are two obvious limitations which should apply: There is a a limit to how high you can reach when mining out a ceiling, this limit should also apply to the application of concrete (if you can't reach it with your pick axe probably can't reach it with concrete). There is a minimum threshold beyond which you cannot lower the ceiling further (if the ceiling were any lower you would not be able to pass). This limit should match whatever the default height of a tunnel is when first opened. Summary Allowing the application of concrete to ceilings would give us a tool to fix these annoying graphical effects without changing any other game mechanics. Thanks in advance for your feedback

I've found often enough that when breeding horses, even in 2x2 and bigger pens, the parents will get stuck on the same tile (obviously 100% of the time if they have the no move misc trait which i'd almost consider a negative trait considering how annoying it is for breeding), then when the kid is born, there's 3 stuck on the tile and they get diseased, even checking twice daily i'm finding diseased horses, would be ending up in dead horses for weekend only players. Shouldn't count for disease checks until they are fully grown to counter this.

Have an unclaimed vehicle yard on each server. Allow mayors to "report" vehicles as possibly abandoned. If a vehicle is tagged by a mayor AND the owner hasn't logged in for some set time (60 days?) then the vehicle is relocated (with contents and hitched animals) to the holding pen. If/when the owner logs in, they are notified of their unclaimed vehicle with a claim slip they can activate to have their vehicle poofed back to where they are. If it has been less than the set time, then the player is notified to move the vehicle before it is treated as abandoned and moved to the holding yard. That way mayors won't have a spot next to their deed that is full of all the stuff they pushed off.

I'd love to see a full on modernization of the avatar creation options, but trying to be realistic about what the team has the time and resources to do short term I don't hold my breath. However, the basic question of this thread is an easy one to solve, skin tones, and saying that is long over due now in 2022 is an understatement. I doubt anyone has a ton of data proving it can cause the loss of players and thus the loss of income, but it is something that I have personally witnessed, a new player leaving in a very short time because he did not have the option to have a character with dark skin and the reasons for this lack of options were not up to much really. Plus a hundred basically.

Glass should be made from ash, sand and salt, with possibly traces of other things to control the colour. As one of the very few people in the world with a degree in Science & Engineering of Glasses, I feel pretty strongly about that. In the same way that a stone wall can be rendered, or a plain wall converted to/from a stone wall with wood trim, I think it should be possible to glaze windows. Not too bothered either way about the whole alchemy part.

(with apologies to those teetotal, you're way ahead of us) It's the holiday season and you know what that means that's right, alcohol, for instance I'm three drinks down writing this post we've all been far ahead on the vomiting, and all sorts of abuse to our bodies both IRL - and ingame in the pursuit of evermore caffeine so this holiday season remember to be kind to yourself - drink water also, it's good for you and you should be drinking something like 7 cups a day that seems like a lot of water but apparently it's a good idea also there's a dragon, you'd think "ah-ha, he's being clever, water is blue and it's going to be a blue dragon" what on earth? since when was water blue? go get a glass, it's clear but around where I live, the tapwater is chalky white so this slaying is a white hatchling absolutely not a stretch I came up with while writing this bruce's flying circus, O13, on the highway network edit: bring water to drink

To me, it's definitely depth. There are many games out there with ease of use, so when I come to Wurm, I really value the complexity and the depth. That's what attracted me to Wurm in the first place and that's what keeps me here.
  44. 1 point
In short: i play Wurm a bit over a Year, and i play it because it is depth. One Click more or or less is absolutely not importend.... Important are the options, are you a builder? learn and do it. Are you a fighter? learn and do it... etc... You can be a "Master of nothing" with all skills around the same level or a Specialist, maybe a Adventurer that must be survive... its on you! On the long run this all is only possible with depth! With depth the goal is to have a nice time in Wurm, without depth the goal is the endgame..... and the "cry for content" all the time.
