Recently it had occurred to me that Wurmians that organize events don't only use in game mechanics, however, for some events, like impalongs, we dont always have time to announce what else we are using, so for the overworked event organizer i propose the Town Crier NPC you can buy for your deed, and all he does is repeat in local/village/alliance what you ask of him. Could be purchasable from the marks store.

It would be a really nice addition to expand the recent animal update with the feature to dye our sheep. Right now it's almost impossible to see which sheep is an offspring of another sheep as they do not have names. With this new feature you would be able to dye the sheep and keep them easily separated without needing to put them in way too small dens! I suggest this should cost about 0.05-0.1kg of dye and show up as a spot on the back or sides of the sheep.

Gm's will also rename a shrine built and protect it as part of the policy. I think the main reason is it allows for people to remember their neighbours and friends individually, rather than a graveyard in one spot, which feels a bit morbid imo. There's locations all over servers with player built memorials, and I think that's amazing, because it's in the area that player loved and lived in, rather than in a central spot.

I have heard of a few Wurm players who have sadly passed away. It seems to me that Wurm friends might take some comfort from a Hall of Remembrance, maybe there could be one on each server. You would be able to place a statue or some such with your friends name on it. Much as in real life, it is a lovely way to remember someone you may have known/played with for many many years. It also occurs to me that it would be good to have some way of bequesting your deed to someone if you pass away. I am not quite sure how such a thing could be done but wonder if someone could think about this

Considering some Wurmians have been playing this game for over a decade and a few have passed away, I really don't understand why you'd give it a hard no. I personally know a couple of players that left us too early and would like to see something dedicated to them.

Meditation really needs to do away with the RNG, it already has enough slowing it down, and it's probably, for me, the most frustrating part of this game. I mean, hell, you can get a sermon group going to speed Faith up a ton, so why not bring in meditation circles?

Hello, Wurmians, and welcome to another issue of the Valrei International! This is another one that will be a bit light on news, but still a very exciting one for me because I finally get to tell you all about something I’ve had a hard time keeping quiet about! Some time ago we re-introduced wood types influencing the look of the item. This brought a whole new array of decorative possibilities for Wurmians everywhere. Obviously, the next step would be to make stone type influence the look of things, too! The list so far includes: Stone altars, benches, brazier pillars, coffins, fireplaces, forges, all fountains, graves, kilns, ovens, smelters, spirit castles and cottages, and wells! With all of these new possibilities, you’ll really be able to decorate with detail and bring out your own personal style in any deed or structure... and finally, a use for all of those rare bricks that couldn’t be used before! Add to the ambiance of your pizza kitchen with real pottery brick ovens and fireplaces! Beautify your gardens and outdoor areas with your own personal style! Now, please keep in mind that before these end up live there may be a few changes to the look of some items. They are still a bit of a work in progress, and Saroman has been working so very hard to make sure these look wonderful by the time they reach the live servers! With all of these new stone types, there will be some changes to items that already exist. Some items such as pillars are made of regular stone bricks but have the look of marble. Kilns and smelters made of stone bricks currently have a pottery brick look to them as well. We’d like some public feedback on whether you guys would prefer us to automatically change existing smelters/kilns to pottery ones and pillars to marble ones when this update goes live, or have them stay stone and change visually to the new stone versions. Please cast your vote in the poll at the top of this post for feedback on pillars, kilns, and smelters! I would also like to leave a link to a post concerning some more fine tuning of caffeine that needs some feedback as well. We have two community hosted events this month, both on the Southern Isles. The Annual Lunalong hosted by Dracaa started today and runs until the 20th on Xanadu. And the second annual Meadhalla 2: Mead Harder will be hosted by Stanlee on the 18th of December on Release! That's it for December's Valrei International! Wishing you all a very happy holiday season from the entire Wurm Online team ❤️

It would be cool to not need a bunch of free alts for rare storage. If the first item put in a rare crate is of any rarity, then the crate gets locked in to support only that class of rarity. No mixing rare, supreme or fantastic in the same crate. Don't need supreme crates for supreme mats, just a rare or better for any class of rarity. Empty a crate and it can then be reset to a different rarity class. This would allow them to be continued for regular materials as they already are.

Would be nice to have a 'salvage' option when destroying structures. (And furnaces/pillars/containers, but maybe not?) Could be even be an option in addition to 'destroy.' Perhaps a different tool, longer time, or something, but results in some of the materials (bricks, planks, etc.) being salvaged. A lesser quantity and maybe at a lower quality or something along those lines.

Yes. Between the stone chisel and the crowbar, it should be possible to recover at least some of the materials.

I think that changing the message once a day would be acceptable. and i could see multiple messages if you space them out, one per hour. as for distance apart, that's a tricky one. You shouldn't have one if you don't have a deed, (obvious reasons) and if you have one it shouldn't cry further then the last tile of your perimeter. edit: no more then 3 messages to be cried in total.

When our good friend Rapidron passed away a couple years ago, we made a collosus in his name on the spot where his long-time deed had stood. We then deeded the area and collectively dumped about 5 years of upkeep in it. That's one way to keep his memory alive in the game he loved. Having a central museum isn't a bad idea, but on a server like Xanadu the sheer size of the server would probably inhibit visitors or even pilgrimages to place a statue in honor of a friend who's passed. Maybe one in each starter town so those in that area could come by and honor their friends.

Wurm suffers from Wogic, which is pretty prevalent in many of its mechanics. Woodworkers in RL don't suffer from Wogic. Read for example what OR posted about shield bashing. There is absolutely nothing intuitive about that system. Could probably come up with 20 more examples of what newbies encounter and are strange mechanics they will most likely not figure out if someone doesn't explain it.

I got a few positive responses on some of my suggestions in the latest VI-post, so here's one of them copy pasted with some possible modifications: Please allow people who are not mayor to rename branded animals via the permissions feature. Possibly as a deed permission. There are breeders who name their branded animals like "FM, CM" which can be very helpful. The fact that only a mayor can do so can be very frustrating for a villager who is doing the AH stuff and things on the deed. You shouldn't need to call your mayor over every time you want to rename newborn foals, in my opinion.

*waves merrily* Just wanted to say that I am a casual player, stress easily and cannot really grind. I simply try to craft things to gain my skills that way, imp up tools, boats, ovens and forges and things where I feel it is usable for me. There are times when I do try to grind, and I can then take about 5-8 hours to do so (mainly cooking, but did it once for fine carpentry too). Since the whole talk about caffeine has been rather confusing, and a bit intimidating to me, I will simply ask this, to comprehend better (I cannot make high ql stuff - I'd be happy if the coffee/tea/cacao is 15 ql ^^ ): If I use sleep bonus and add caffeine to this, what is the actual difference for me with the current system and the suggested changes one? I can grind one day, but definitely not two. Next day, I might still use SB if I am making some furniture for decorations, or statues or something, just to still help my skill gain a bit from ordinary stuff (provided I have some SB to use, of course). If I have understood this correctly, I will still, in the new system, get skill gain bonus from the SB, just not from the coffee as well? I haven't ever hit the fatigue (though I know people who have, and I am impressed ^^ ), in case that changes anything from how it was to how it might be with the changes. (Regarding meditating: I meditate maybe 1-2 times on a play-day (in the best of cases) and in spite of only being in my 20s, I didn't have a tick for a rather long time. This was before I took a much needed break (I burn out easily). I have no idea how often people get ticks, but I'm not loved by rng . I don't actually think caffeine would have any impact on my meditating, due to RNG and I, so no point in adding any such examples (in case someone was going to.))

If the issue is with toggling sleep bonus in the last moment of meditation timer, then just disable SB toggles during actions. Problem solved, and I'd call it fair - want bonus, pay for the full action.

I don't understand how Chaos is part of Freedom servers, but can't represent our Chaos Kingdoms while on normal freedom servers. Wagons, flags, etc carry over from Chaos and would like to be able to wear my Chaos tabard on freedom. Tired of wearing the same tabard when not on Chaos as everyone else. This should be part of the PvP change. Would get more people interested on going Chaos and maybe starting a PMK. Normal Freedomers want custom Tabards and Kingdoms? Then give them a chance to go to Chaos and create a PMK and earn the right to represent. Just don't hand it to them though. Only thing we have when doing Rifts and other events while not on Chaos to represent is dropping tents. Then have a bunch of normal green freedom tabards around it and don't have a clue who is in what. Seems lame. This would boost recruitment into Chaos as others will see these pimped out Kingdoms all over and want to join up. Why is Chaos part of Freedom then. It seems like the Dev's (I guess mainly Rolf) have shunned it from the rest of the world and making Epic seem better. They get multiple servers and cool stuff. We get...............the finger. Make Chaos worth more than just one server separated from the rest.

This would be my preference as well. The argument that intoxication lets you "skip days" holds true for fatigue just as easily. We get 8 hours of fatigue every RL day.. That's 2 hours of coffee usage, which is actually more generous than the one hour of intoxication. And if you use it every other day, you get full benefit. Giving me more options of when and how I can use caffiene seems better than trapping me in a 5 hours maximum benefit per week/1 hour max per day setup. Mostly because I keep finding myself in situations where I want to use up my sleep bonus and then hit a deity rite, then use it up again to be ready for the next deity rite. Frankly, changing the system from the relief of "I can burn up my sleep bonus at double speed if I wait another day" (current system) into "I can't do this again for until next week" (intoxication system) will push me back into much lengthier grinding sessions on the regular. Especially since it will introduce the worry of "If I use it all up today, what if someone casts Rite of My God tomorrow, then Rite of Another God three days later?" In essence, I'm saying forcing coffee to be 5 hours a week maximum is going to make me far more hesitant to use coffee for all the wrong reasons. It won't be "I get less skill gain from this" or "I'll have to wait until tomorrow to do more", it'll instead be "This is a precious resource and I don't want to mess up and waste it." The argument of "Even for people that have a lot of play time, caffiene as it's currently implemented can make for a more relaxing game experience" is absolutely valid and should be considered. "Coffee is for casuals" can translate into coffee helping some of us with more play time relax and play more casually.

I feel the same. I really don't understand the reasonings for that debuff... I feel this really should be well thought out how does it help those with limited playtime. By the way limited playtime can mean that you can always take a couple of days of work to just chill and rest. Play some chess, Wurm, watch movies. In this case maybe a guy wants to play for those 2 days but that debuff will kick him in the shin. How does the debuff help him if he wants to burn 10 hours of accrued SB? The debuff on the second day won't actually help him. Also drinking caffeine still has the major issue of being tied to the water meter. Come on...[13:30:24] You are so bloated you cannot bring yourself to drink any thing else. How does this benefit those with little playtime? People really don't have hours to afk wasting electricity so their meter goes to zero.

I play intuitively. I've never made use of third-party tools, unless you consider the Wurmpedia and looking up recipes and pure info that way to be something other than intuitive. Then again, I'm certainly not a grinder and I know the way I play means slower skillgain than for someone who is. To me, the gameplay is based upon what's needed at the time or else stockpiling the harvests of what I enjoy doing anyways. Wish that Wurm Online wouldn't have any aspects that follow counter-intuitive methods, or 'wogic', but I also understand that's how it is. There is no 'win the game' for me, there's having fun enjoying my small little hermitage and my character's life there at my own pace.

It's a tough balance. I love how vast and endless Wurm is. It really feels like a game that will hold my attention forever because there's just so much to do. It's definitely not good if a game is too easy and people just burn through it in a few weeks or months. However, it can also feel like there's no point in playing Wurm at all if you don't have hours upon hours to put into it. Most people I have tried to introduce to this game turned away because it "looks like a huge time sink", and they are not wrong. I love the idea of caffeine (the way it's intended to work) so much because it can give people who can't play as much a sense of progression, while keeping that effect limited so the game isn't just sped up overall. Those first weeks after coffee was introduced were so nice! I could spend a little time focused on skill gain and actually have a sense of progress, then relax and just putter around without feeling like I should be more "productive". I hope caffeine will end up being balanced to provide that again, with limits in place to prevent the game feeling too easy overall

Sounds to me like you didn't think about it strongly enough. There's multiple things you need to think a about if you do this. One is that the structures will decay so you have to continously improve and repair. Another is that building any structure of a decent size takes a lot of effort. There is a lot of land. Third one is what was mentioned above, that if someone does deed up next to your structure and put it within a perimeter, you're basically stuck with a structure that will eventually decay and you can't repair it or do anything about it. This, in combination with the above point of building any structure of a decent size taking a lot of effort, will not make it very attractive to do so. The current system isn't prefect, but what is. The current system doesn't have nearly as much problems as you make it sound like it. Let's have the devs spend their time fixing actual issues instead.

Yes, please. The canopy bed should always have been big enough for two. Also let us add 4 pegs to 2 beds to make double bunks! Also also it would be great to have a character model in a slept-in bed.

At the moment this high end piece of furniture doesn't really do more than a small barrel with 10 jars in it, and it's only real feature is looking pretty. So I propose the following changes: 1. Allow the vials to be resized in a similar way to measuring jugs (only available if empty, current measure shown in the name to make things easier) 2. Liquids stored in this table DO NOT DECAY, AT ALL. 3. A special container for healing covers only; covers stored in here DO NOT DECAY.

+1 From me too, I do all the work for 100+ animals on a neighbors deed and having to wait for the Mayor of that deed to log on and name the new additions is more than a hassle. He has limited play time and the last thing he needs to do is spend a chunk of it doing this when I am more than willing and able.
