But the benefits were terrible. He didn't even have dental! So lets just kill him instead! FUNK is proud to present to you another slaying. This time of a Goblin Leader. A Goblin Leader has not been seen on NFI for quite some time, so this should be exciting!! In case you don't know, the blood from a Goblin Leader makes a mining imbue, However, so as not to overload the server like we did with the Red Dragon, I'm asking people to not go overboard on the number of Alts. Thank you. This slaying will happen on Friday Oct 22nd at 10:00pm EST. I"m releasing the location early, so people have time to get their alts set up...but again, PLEASE do not go overboard with alts. The location is around L-21. There is a wonky 1-tile path between two hills that runs roughly in a NE - ,SW direction that has guard towers on either end of it. The deed is just off the path, a few tiles from the guard tower on the SW end. I was scouting around, and found a MUCH easier way to get to the slaying sight. What you want to do it get to K/L 19 and head NE until you hit the main highway....or even just park right at the bridge at K-18. route to Dragon's roost. Just East of Dragons roost, at the bottom of the big hill is a waystone that has a flag for Pnuts Palace (515) and Cev's Deed (204). east from that waystone is a 1 tile path. take that path and follow it for quite a ways. the path ends briefly with a few tiles of tar right in front of you...go south east just a couple tiles and the path will continue and will go into a cave. follow the cave around and you'll find the path again on the other side. you're almost there!! Keep following the path until you see a guard tower. just past the guard tower on the top of the hill to the NW is the site!!

Congrats on this, good lord I like the dedication here! What about β€˜Aegis’? "The aegis, as stated in the Iliad, is a device carried by Athena and Zeus, variously interpreted as an animal skin or a shield and sometimes featuring the head of a Gorgon."

has many downsides, such as less affinity chances (goes off tick amounts not tick sizes), can skip over rarity windows, if you don't have stamina easy to overshoot it and get no skillgain, doesn't work with sweet spot imping and similar mechanics, timers over 30 seconds only give 30 seconds of skillgain so saying it's a necessity is a bit of a reach if it would be an absolute necessity for skilling, then by that logic wounds for grinding would be an absolute necessity for skilling, and it's hiding such things behind convoluted mechanics that make little sense

Who out there has loads of useless rare slate/sandstone/round stone shards and bricks? I know I do! Who wouldn't want a rare slate forge or supreme marble oven? Please allow us to make slate, sandstone, round stone, pottery and marble forges and ovens, at least to start. This could be expanded further with more items in time and different texture forges and ovens would add many new decorating options. I believe this would be a great addition to the game and add some fun options for the community! Thank you for reading.

The FUNK team is proud to bring you yet another public slaying. This time of a Troll King. He was found by my good friend Indigoe, and is now being fattened up for slaughter! The blood from a Troll King makes a stone cutting imbue The slaying will take place at 9:00pm EST. More details will be coming soon. thank you and have fun!! Awe crap. 9:00pm EST WEDNESDAY. I really shouldn't do stuff like this when I"m tired Ok, so this location is REALLY shitty, but unfortunately I don't get to pick where they spawn. If you know where Cadence Buddhist Monastery used to be...that is where he is. If you don't know where that is...it's M-16 (the deed is still on the community map) The easiest way to get there is route to Goodmeadow. When you get there, you will see a mountain to the southish. Follow the ridgeline up (there are still pointing signs directing you to CBM) there is a path for most of the way. you will pass through 2 deeds....then a mailbox kinda in the middle of nowhere, and just past there is a decaying settlement....the remains of CBM. You can pitch tents there, it is way inside Local. the actual slay spot is just before there, down the side of the mountain. See you all there!!!

There's a difference between "Wurm is dying" vs growth and healthy playerbase. I'm tired of explaining it. The numbers speak for themselves. Some people can be happy having only 5 active players on a server, some see it as sign the game is no longer growing. Don't how many hundred more disbanded deeds we need, how much dead a chat can become, how sparse trade has become before people accept the game is actually in a steep decline. To each his own standards. At least the numbers don't lie.

Atleast its stable, but believe its mostly old players hanging in there. I do believe the biggest reason why wurm has problem to keep new players is lack of content. Wurm has the most in depth crafting system in any games ive played, but theres no content or logic behind most of it. My observation is that new players, that stays for more then a few days quit after they built their home, which is limited due to silver cost. Why do they quit? All thats left is pretty mutch skill grinding you wont get alot of use for. But at the same time this is just the way this game is, but dont think it attract many new players as many in here wish for. Having a player base so spread as it is atm makes most new player consider this a dead game, even tho i do understand why new servers was needed, its not good in the long run. Ive spent hundreds of hours to help new players getting over the rough starts but all tend to vanish after a short time. Crossing every body parts in hope for a good exploration update.

I swear it used to be the case that Branded an animal instantly Defaulted to "Locked". This meant that if your animal was branded, regardless of where it was located it could not be accessed in any way shape or form. A brand meant the animal is locked, no leading, no riding, no inventory access by anyone who wasn't a member of the deed they were branded to. In the last year, after returning to Wurm Online I've learned that Branding doesn't work that way at all! I've had a Branded horse lead off my deed and clear across the Harmony map onto someone else's deed, equipment and all. Support at the time basically shrugged at me and said "Deed permissions to Lead over-rode Branding" and I wasn't getting my horse back, despite the Branding on it. Based on this information, I was specifically granted leading permissions on a friends Deed to come and "adopt" some of their unwanted Horses off Deed and brought them home. It wasn't until I reached my own Deed that I realized 3/4 of these horses were branded. I've confirmed that I've been able to lead these animals even after I've stopped leading them on my own deed. I cannot ride them, but I can hitch them to my wagon/carts. No horse has individual permission settings "per animal" set as frankly it's not something we've ever bothered with over the years. Since it used to be that Branded = Locked. Prior to this, they had brought me 4 horses (all of which were still branded, but I was not given deed specific leading permissions to their deed or those animals) and I was able to lead and hitch them just fine. It wasn't until I went to brand them myself that I learned they were still branded to my friend's deed. So the first set of animals I was given absolutely no rights to leading these animals. I've been told recently that individual settings per creature is needed to prevent animals walking off, despite being branded on a Deed with lead permissions. Now I haven't tested this yet, as I'll have to wait for my friend to log back online but I'm honestly skeptical if that's the case. Since I've also been told "Deed permissions over-ride branding". So logically speaking, Branded Perms on the "per animal" would be over-ridden by Deed's "Lead" permission. So which is it? Branding is a Lock? Deed Permissions over-ride Branding Permissions (except if it's Brand Permission to specifically say "No") ? Ultimately the Branded "lock" system being incredibly inconsistent with every other lock in the game is incredibly unclear and frustrating. If this is the case here, then why don't Pickup Deed permissions over-ride the item pickup in buildings? Why on my own Deed I cannot pickup, move or otherwise alter an item that has been planted/secured, despite being the Mayor of the Deed? So ultimately, is Branding basically "Apply an unlocked lock to my animal" and we're still required to set actual permissions on the Animal after branding? To prevent even wild, other deed or Deeds with lead perms, to prevent theft? And why is this the case, when applying a lock to ANYTHING else doesn't work this way? Since Locked is Locked for everything else. Why was this changed to work this way? Why is Branding no longer considered "Auto Locked" from non-deed mates? Why has the decision been made to keep it this way, and why was it thought it was a good idea? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

There was a pretty vocal push for this in the priest thread, so I think it's deserving of a proper thread since the reason for bounce back was pretty weak (and I mean that in the most polite way possible) For years people have wanted a spell with this effect so they wouldn't need to do silly things like balancing bad and severe wounds with bad healing covers. Now that the priest changes have happened with some new spells being added, now seems a perfect time to make this happen. There are a lot of good reasons to make this happen, beyond adding value to gods already on the table. Mag is lacking in good spells for him to cast on items, since Stone Strike is pretty niche in its own way. Less actions = less chances to score an affinity This in its own way is a good balance point. It means this is only likely to be used by the people who need to get some serious grind in where their current skills might hinder them (high stamina/path of power accounts) Offers more spell variety for tools So far, we only really slap one or two casts on our tools. We either have only CoC or WoA, both, or BoTD (with BoTD being rarer since Lib spells on Freedom are pretty crappy as it is) By adding a spell for slower actions, we increase the variety we see on tools, opening more options for priests to fund their premium time now RMT is going bye bye and most importantly, give a better player experience without needing to do dumb stuff we don't enjoy (wound balancing) In the run up to Steam, this could be considered a great feature to add to the list of things brought in to polish the game for release. How well Steam goes could be affected pretty heavily by the current Wurm population. With a lot of rocky announcements and general unease from the community, I think this would do a lot to help relieve the older, veteran playerbase who want to see some good QoL that will help them play.

This may have been mentioned before but it would be nice to have companion pets that tag-a-long with you as you move about Wurm. A pet you could pick from a variety of loyal creatures that you could purchase with marks or from a trader that can't be killed by guards or mobs and do not attack enemies but keep you company and entertain you during those long boring grinds. Just something to add a bit more life and activity to Wurm. Just a thought.

Every second major release of Windows was best to avoid so far so don't jump on the 11 yet. Also read about major FPS drops on systems which are enterprise compatible because of virtualization technologies switched on by default for malware remediation purposes, supposedly not affecting upgrades of homebrew gaming rigs. Anyway I'll avoid Win11 as long as possible, I'm also not really fond of MacOS toolbars.

Don't really get why servers don't receive a unique feature (other than different maps). For example Deliverance could have : 1. 15% faster carpentry timers 2. 5% faster smithing timers 3. +5% skillgain towards shield and subshields skillgain Xanadu could have + 5% bonus skill gain towards Fighting 2. +20% faster riding speed from horse shoe ql. Maybe transform one of the servers that is emptier than all the rest into a pure 100% no build all hunting server. You can drop tents, you can mine, you can chop trees and build highways, but you can't drop deeds. Have 3-4 designated "Fortress Inns" either made by players or GMs on the map so players can log off there. Pure hunting server, that way you make the crowd that wants a hunting server happy, you repurpose a dead server and give more uniqueness to the game.

I'm sorry but jumping off a slope to get a wound once every half an hour or so is probably one of the most minor cases of minmaxing there is in this game. I only grind wound when I do Animal Husbandry too, and that's because the game takes bugger all stamina for groom actions while also dumpstering the skillgain you can get with those fast timers later on. We already have situations where people use climb mode to keep their stamina going back up. Anti woa just makes it a bit less dumb and more accessible, frankly

Honestly the tamed-creatiure-being-targeted-first (or even at all) problem is what keeps all my many pets and companion animals safely in pens and keeps my taming skill exclusively for penning, not for actually enjoying them. I too would love a way to have companion animals (and mounts?) that, like horses, aren't a target for mobs and guards - we'd get so much more use and richness from taming were this the case.

New maps attract new players, because discovering new areas is interesting, and traveling along roads created by other players does not make sense.

You know, I read these threads and I realise that people didn't hate my suggestions as much as I thought! I don't think even my heavily pro-priest suggestions garnered this much negative feedback! Either way, this idea isn't adding QoL, it isn't bringing anything to the game except more chores and land grabs, and it isn't nerfing something that needs nerfing. -1 from me

Hmm... if only there was an item that could create any 99ql vein (100.00ql vein doesn't exist) with 10k ore in them Oh wait...

How many do you imagine farm ql100 trees all day long? How many actually are at all able to cut ql99 or 100 at ridiculous rates.. 1 log per tree if rng gives top ql felled.. Do you read what people type or you get straight to trolling for laughs? There's actual problem where people with high skill get completely rickrolled by woodcutting skill and gather trash ql logs FAR BELOW their skill, skilling up high actually penalize you, and there was a nert to woodcutting runes and imbue effects at high ql - so you need high skill to get high ql logs.. you get the idea... two things working against you.. You have no idea how things work... You don't even know... What you wrote there is a meme.
  36. 1 point
with 97 woodcutting and a 95ql supreme hatchet my average tree ql is 80ish, and then chopping them all into logs drops the average quality again, so not sure where you're getting this idea from. are you 100 woodcutting? quick look at merchant ads and trade chat posts on both servers shows that 95+ql logs sell for more than 95+ql lumps so dunno bout this guess chief 100ql veins don't exist, are you throwing out expectations of how you think things work again
  37. 1 point
How does this benefit players? In your past suggestions you have complained about players deeding too much land and taking over all the resources in an area. Now you are suggesting that players make giant deeds to farm 100ql trees. This would drive the price of wood through the roof. And all the players that have supplies of 90ql+ logs would make a killing. Big -1 to this idea. I do not see this benefitting the community at all.

A little while ago, it was discovered that a long-time player, one of the few who settled on Celebration at its opening, passed away earlier this year in April. I reached out to his family in hopes of confirming, but I didn't receive a response. Circumstantial evidence leans heavily to the fact that Waaroku is no longer with us. Anyone who knew Waar, knew how much his deeds meant to him. He'd never let them fall. His mother posted on her social media that she was having computer issues after her son's death and needed help in order to continue the soap business. She has also posted many remembrances of him as well. He had a tough exterior, gruff demeanor and loved to push the boundaries in all the chats. He also loved to help new players and kept a public mine outside of the spawn city of Tap Dance for this reason. He was a good friend to me. I will miss him for that. As Waaroku's last deed falls, so, too, does a part of Celebration's community and history.

I truly feel that the permissions access should result in the following pattern: Branding / Structure Lock Deed Permission I've yet to do any interactions with a hitching post, but I assume it's no different than say a Cart or a Wagon. So granting someone access to said Cart or Wagon to access the animals on said Cart/Structure would allow the release of said animals from said system. However leading the animal after the fact depends FIRST on whether or not the animal is branded (which should go back to defaulting to LOCKED), THEN whether or not the Deed allows leading of non-branded (or otherwise not permission granted based on Branding) animals. Branding is a Lock. Branding is Ownership. Why is Branding otherwise in many instances appear to not work this way in any shape or form.. The above order works for everything else in game. Buildings, Carts/Ships, Chests. Why are Animals the exception to the rule? What's more, the Permissions system on Animals never specifically states "Can Lead". The only options available are "Manage", "Ride", "Equipment" or "Deny All".
  47. 1 point
Okay, and that's great. But why is the Brand defaulting to "Unlocked" on Deeds with Leading perms? Isn't the point of Branding to "Lock" a creature, no different than applying a lock to a Chest or Building Door. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
