WELCOME I were curious why it's not possible on islands like Cadence, Harmony or Melody to get Horde of Summoned or Jenn-Kellon items like tabards, flags etc.. etc...... That is sad that as players, somewhat new players we don't have avaibility to get such items becourse we can't sail to Defiance and item's doesn't transfer, getting it unlocked on our islands or even letting us to sail to Defiance to get proper cosmetic items would unlock something that for others is nothing and for others means a lot, there are no negative thought's and our tailors that play on our island would have a new cosmetic items that they can create and also earn silvers, for persons like me where cosmetics items are not only a things too look good but also help in Role-playing what eyes see the mind reads, please Head GM's, GM's, supporters, players if it is possible let's get this idea to move on forward and let us have more fun with more cosmetic items that are IN GAME.... -------------------------------------------- Let our journey begin, please like the post if you like the idea and also to change something on our islands, I might think that Im not only one who created that type of thread but we need to be seen right? Have fun, Have a great day! and remember Halloween soon enough Best regards! Ludwik Von Grass.

The Freedom Isles Society for the Prevention of Cruel and Unusual Dismemberment of Dragons, Drakes, and Creatures of Royal Lineage, or FISPCUDDDCRL for short, (Game Masters) has been closely monitoring all black market activity with regards to the sales of body parts that that have been seen coming from several chop shops that have set up in the region. After much investigation,(log reading) and many doughnut heavy stake outs,(actually this one is pretty much accurate) we have witnessed and recorded events and rituals that are otherwise impossible without the use of forbidden magics!(cheating) We have known for some time that something unusual was going on and had to assemble an elite team of mercenaries and spend a huge amount of time to collect enough information to determine what is legitimate, by the mechanics, unique hunting and slaying, and what is definitely not. Some hunting groups we could clearly tell were hunting unique creatures as intended and then there was the other group... .....yeah.... During many months of detailed work of collecting physical and logged evidence, we witnessed members of this group on multiple occasions, sail onto a server, land on a section of shore, then travel directly to where we had manually placed unique creatures for monitoring. Once at the location, they stopped, looked around for a moment, then went directly back to their boat and off server. These uniques were not at their general spawn areas and were fully protected by our team. There is no possible legal way for anyone to find these protected unique creatures with the normal client and yet more than once, this group demonstrated they could via the use of a third party cheat. Needless to say we are not happy at all with these people, using a third party hack, as we consider this to be an egregious violation of our Terms of Service as well as a despicable theft of an enjoyable part of the game that the entire Wurm Online community should have equal opportunity to access. There is still some discussion concerning some of the people involved, but a rather large group has already been permanently banned from Wurm Online for profiting from these cheats while robbing our greater Wurm Online community of natural opportunities to participate in a very fun and engaging aspect of our game. Thank you for your time, Enki (Chief Bison of the FISPCUDDDCRL Lodge) (Head Game Master)

I was just thinking about leaving things for some members of my deed, and it occured to me that if I leave a crate with things in it, it could just look like another one of the crates they have there, and they might not realize the gift was there for a while. That got me to thinking that if there was "gift wrapping" available in the game, it would be noticed immediately. It would be useful to working on paper making (for the paper), dye making (for the ink to write the tag), and cloth making (for the ribbon to wrap it all up with), and would act as a skin to be used on any container type so it could "wrap" for any gift type. (for example an item that can only be held indefinately in a crate the wrap would go on a crate, but for an item that can only be held in a chest for a long time - the wrap could be used on a chest instead). Ideally as soon as the tag is read and the gift is opened the wrap would disintegrate so the container could be used for anything afterwards. I think this would be great to add into the game for those that like to leave gifts for other players, but would like it noticed immediately when the player comes on, and to know where it came from even if the creator of the gift is not online at the time, and would utilize several mechanics of the game that are under served right now.

There is now a tunnel that goes from Rainbow Lake to the West coast of Deli just next to Deliverance Harbor. The entire path supports large ships. No longer do the inner lakes near Greendog have to go north out the canals if one wants to travel west. The west side of rainbow lake is clay and so I have placed buoys marking the channel where you can cross without striking ground.

I think there would need to be an emergency upkeep fund, or escrow account, or Phoenix Fund. Call it whatever you want. Because players would need to put money somewhere other than the regular upkeep fund, in order to take over and preserve the deed when its official upkeep fund runs out. The downside of this approach is that the deed would still go through 30 days of decay before changing ownership. The upside is that it would be 100% clear whether money was meant to preserve the original deed or pay for the new deed. Another upside is that it would be 100% clear when the absent mayor's funding had run out — meaning that they no longer had any moral claim to the land.

So what about after anything the mayor paid has run out and someone else has been paying for it?
  15. 2 points
Stinboi, you just seem not to understand and completely ignore what I write. Or is it so hard to understand? If a mayor creates a deed, leaves enough upkeep, and is away for any reason, the deed will be untouchable until it disbands. That is okay. Usually, a mayor would not disappear suddenly and leave the villagers without notice. Even if so, if you nothing will and must happen, as there is still upkeep paid by the mayor. There "is no workaround" because that has not been proposed. Btw, this is true even if you make a small deed. The problems arising are those of villagers stranded in a deed where the mayor left without notice, the deed is in danger to drop. Often, the villagers paid upkeep already for longer periods of time (cases known where that is the case for a year or more). If not, the deed would drop and Is that so hard to understand? Why do you want to derail my proposal? Certainly the villagers can leave, let the deed drop, loot the mayor's house once the first wall is gone (which will be faster than their own ones). In fact that is not what they want. They may even hope for a return.

✠ ✠ ✠ ✠ Ludwik Von Grass A self-called Nobleman that who is not afraid of hard work and approaches everything with great enthusiasm , was born as the son of a wealthy German named William, in the year 1056, his story will soon be known... ✠ CHAPTER FIRST | EARLY ESCAPE ✠ The story of Ludwik begins in a small town called Branbaum whose ruler was his father - William II Von Grass. This town was located on a high hill overgrown with trees of various harvests, to the city led a very winding road lined with stone slate from a nearby mine which also brought extremely high profits to the ruler and the citizens by mined there gold iron and copper. Every night a cheerful and joyful sounds came out of the city people ate and drank from their mugs various liquors prepared by a local craftsman. In general - they rejoiced in their lives without any specific worries - so Young Ludwik Von Grass remembered the town - so and not otherwise, it was well managed, strong and how modest; its power was hidden in the hands of the inhabitants of this town. During his adolescence, the young heir had to take up the challenge to use all the knowledge that his father William had given him, he tried his best, but he knew that difficult times were coming for his town because after so many years of mining the source of deposits in the mine was exhausted and unfortunately for fate in the nearby forests appeared Trolls who stopped the merchant trails and these led to starvation, poverty and panic. ,,How can such a strong city fall so quickly?'' Whether William was still able to see during his lifetime how everything he built with his subjects goes down to History. He knew that the trolls would attack soon and completely destroy the town, so he ordered to escort his heir to the nearest port together with most of the warriors who had to guard the heir from the monsters in the forest so that he could sail away from the island... as they passed through the forests there were quite a few bits with trolls that decimated the warriors, fortunately Ludwik got out of it and got to the nearby port where a well-known merchant and friend of William took him to the island that is called Cadence.... ✠ ON THE WAY... ✠ When they sailed out of this noble and rich port with their decorated merchant caravel, they saw that the weather was changing drastically; in the sky you could see flashes breaking through clouds as black as coal and fog that came as if from nowhere ... One of the merchant's men, seeing the changes, all pale, sweaty and in fear, in a trembling voice said: "we will probably enter the middle of the storm, there is no return.... it is not known how it will end" Ludwik, having heard the words spoken by a member of the merchant's crew, was troubled by the whole helpless situation, because looking back in his thoughts into the past, he had his Father's eyes, his gaze soaked in emotions, sadness and pain - the sight of such a worried and powerless - not only the Father but also the ruler pierced Ludwiks heart He thinks that he had just lost everything.A ruler, a father with whom he spent much time and received wise teachings, a mother who always supported him in his time of need, faithful and devoted villagers - everything that was most important - was lost, sadness and sorrow in such moments filled his tormented soul, He could not imagine that such a great sacrifice of his family and subjects would be in vain... When they had already entered the middle of a huge storm, Ludwik went down to the lower deck of the ship and began to humbly pray to the Goddess Vynore that she would fill the entire crew with knowledge and strength so that they could get out of this hopeless situation... As he prayed, he heard screams, woes and pain - everyone saved themselves as much as they could, holding on to various parts of the ship, strong waves broke their bones, threw them into the sea for certain death, waves beat the ship so hard that it could be compared with the great wrath of the gods... Suddenly, a loud barely audible cry goes around the ship, "We're about to crash, The big rock in front of us!" Ludwik at that moment, hearing these unpleasant words, closed his eyes and prepared for the fact that in a moment he would be consumed by the sea and become only a legend in someone's book.... To be continued...

There is much more that needs doing in a deed and more so a community pve deed then just adding to upkeep to stop the village going away. The mayor is very important in that they are the pillar of strength for that community. The mayor has the power to destroy buildings, access homes, manage perms, hire guards, resize deed, create roles and build/guide a vision for the village. Without the mayor, the deed is just a shell of its former glory. Lets not forget that many people on PVE servers have giant castles, ###### loads of items and massive investment in their location/community. This is why it is so important to have a mayor or a replacement mayor. Also the time limit is quite long so I am sure that in that time, any villagers around will decide who gets to be mayor when they get to switch to a democracy. Even more so if it is a strong community.

I want to repeat that the solution proposed is already implemented for mayors permabanned as a sensible and working solution (the information by OR gave me the idea how to resolve the issues with orphaned deeds with villagers). The question is why villagers of a rule abiding mayor who just vanished (could even be by death in worst case) should be treated worse that those of a banned mayor. Even the mayor herself (if absent by other causes than death) would be worse off. Banned players not that seldom get a reprieve after some time. If the villagers of their former deed did not kick them they may even relog in their bed at the time the banhammer hit them. A mayor who was hindered to access Wurm for causes out of her control will wake up in an alien environment if the villagers did not keep up the deed during her absence. S/he will even not be villager anymore, out of the alliance, all buildings and structures erected gone, no more rights on any of the animals. The question who will be the next mayor is resolved by ballot in democracies. I never held a democracy deed so cannot say how that is done, and whether the appointed mayor has the same powers over all villagers as in a non democracy (I assume that is the case).

I brought up the arguments for the proposal from beginning. So far you only said that it is as it is and you don't like a change. That is what I call boneheaded. The issue is that a mayor dropped out, that may be due to loss of internet connection, computer, even sickness or death, or more harmless just having lost interest in the game, or just having forgotten about for a longer while due to more pressing issues iRL. . The recent situation is that the villagers are left with a deed that will drop, which they do not want or like. There are always a number of tasks which require mayor role so absence of the mayor is causing problems. Of course the villagers have ways to work around, letting the deed drop, having created an adjacent deed to secure the penned livestock first (and taking all now unbranded animals over there). They may take all structures owned by the former mayor in perimeter, and take all items once the first wall falls. They may extend over their own buildings granting the new creator management permissions. They then have to restore alliances and so on. The consequence is some turmoil and destruction, and the former mayor thrown out completely. There is no way to work around that. All structures s/he built would have to be destroyed and gone. So there is not the least advantage to the mayor in the current situation. With someone else becoming mayor s/he would usually remain villager, keep the owned buildings and permissions on animals. and animal equipment. To add that: The devs already cared for a situation with stranded villagers, namely the case that the mayor was permabanned. So the question arises why villagers where the mayor vanished, maybe even died, should be worse of than those whose mayor was booted due to severe rule violations?

Love the idea of having it as a temporary craftable skin for containers. It could work like sealing barrels, so the contents can't be seen or removed until opened (but it shouldn't have any influence on decay). After opening the skin disappears and the container is back to normal. This would be great!

Like I said, you just add to upkeep. Let's say deed got 10 villagers and the mayor is gone for some reason and it's gonna disband. You can make a brainstorm with other villagers and: - leave the deed, taking all your stuff, towards the setting sun - or collectively pay for 1 month in advance, in hope that he will return - or do nothing, with risk that you probably gonna need to bash through the fences to even try to leave this deed, after disband Let's say villagers choose second option and after another month still no mayor. Just go back to first step. None is forcing anyone to stay. Mayor gets the benefit of everybody's time and money only if you let him too. Mayor is not entitled to anything, it's his deed and you choose to live in it, without any guarantee that he won't dissapear, that he won't bash your house and take your stuff or that he just throw you out of the deed. As for location, it is his as long as he pays for it, BUT normally when deed disbands, there are still houses with permissions left, so none is able to deed area until houses are gone (on pvp you can bash those or catapult). That's mechanics of this game. If players were meant to take over deed, just when upkeep is gone, they would automatically had access to all the houses and things couse of mayor privileges. Not to mention about skipping deed funding cost and cost of all the infrastructure.

Minor update, sold a few things, added a new supreme.
  32. 1 point
Again another irreal construction. The alternative would be that "'the new player' he took in" waited for the deed to drop, recreated a deed with the absent mayor's buildings in perimeter (thus gone within a week or two), then created his own deed at that place. That would be the hard way, and is probably the way it is done now. On the other hand, there are villagers who want the deed to remain in place, are possibly welcoming the former mayer on comeback. Also, existing alliances would not be broken up for the villagers and the deed founder. Again: The proposal is directed to situations where the mayor's contributions to upkeep have run out. The villagers may have to pay upkeep for further e.g. 3 or 4 months before they can appoint a new mayor. For the previous mayor, the deed would be gone anyway without the villagers taking action. All the rejections ignore that and try to derail the proposal.
  33. 1 point
I don't fancy the chances of this getting up. If so many players can so completely misunderstand it, then it doesn't bode well for the devs to see it clearly. This is NOT about taking a deed off a mayor. It is about protecting the villagers from deedfall due to a mayor that has gone inactive. Most of the naysayers seem to think that the citizens are some kind of serf class who have no right to keep what they have built unless they keep tipping in upkeep to maintain a deed in such a way that what they have been protecting could be taken away from them, despite their time and silver spent, by a mayor eventually return to take up again a deed to which they may have contributed nothing for a significant period of time.

I wish there was a way to improve the turning radius when riding horses. Maybe this could be a new speed trait like "It seems very agile", or it could be linked with bridle quality (or even both).
  35. 1 point
First of all: +1 to overwork horse turning. In fact it is easier to turn a wagon than a single horse on the same tile. There seem to be technical reasons for so that the sensible proposal does not see to be that easy to fulfill. Dev comment would be welcome. Second: The ship turning, resulting in being thrown off the ship, seems to be a different beast. Other than the horse (and vehicles) ships already have a movement vector when not moored, and it seems that the server is not able to translate the fast changing angle into appropriate resulting movement vectors in a timely fashion so that a loss of sync and thus throwing over board occurs (at least that is my speculation about). I consider that a bug or design flaw which indeed should be addressed. But I believe this is a different field of work.Again, dev comments very welcome. To add that, the nasty dismounting bug or technical problem when riding and driving occurs much more rarely than the years before. There seems to have been heavily worked on.
  36. 1 point
Again: How hard is it to understand the difference between "around 30 days of upkeep" and all upkeep of the sitting mayor used up (plus a period where the villagers paid to keep the deed alive)? Du you seriously assert that your villagers do not know Cecci, know no way to contact you, or are greedy to take over your deeds? Sad comment.

Ooooooh, the good stuff. Sent - and enjoy! Two amphorae of Tar-B-Gone have been sent! Transmute! Transmute! OK! Instructions for use: DO: Pick up the entire amphora! And then, double... Click up the 'active transmutation liquid' inside the amphora to activate it! And then... Mix up the liquid with the nasty sticky tar tile by right clicking the tarry tile and selecting 'Alchemy -> Transmute' DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES: Separate the transmutation liquid into multiple containers! A priest will need to re-bless the liquid to fix it. Get the transmutation anywhere near your eyes or face! Auntie Sid's Transmutation Hut will not be held responsible should you sniff or drink the liquid! Attempt to pour the liquid on the ground as if it were salty water in a wine skin! Auntie Sid guarantees that you will be unhappy if you do this! Taunt, mock, or otherwise shame the transmutation liquid! Although this has no apparent effect on the liquid's efficacy, we here at the transmutation hut are concerned about the self-esteem and well being of all our transmutation liquids!

I have decided to go ahead and nominate Lupev as my mentee. Lupev can object to this at any time, but I figured that as this is someone who is fairly new not only to Stormfall but to Wurm, I might actually have some wisdom to share. 😁 Also, my first day in Wurm - with its five bear-related fatalities - is not so long ago that I have forgotten the sheer frustration of knowing what I want to do but having no real idea how to do it. (Holy suffering dooley: having to mine iron ore so I could make an iron lump to make nails to make a leggat to make thatch so I could plant grass instead of steppe, because in my head I "knew" I needed grass to feed my sheep - and THEN discovering I could have simply planted one of the many bush sprouts I had foraged! Mind-shattering frustration at times.) I have edited my nomination post.

I've been one of the many that are highly disappointed and concerned at how the game is being managed right now. But, in light of recent staff statements, I am even more disappointed. Enki, your statement on seeing red read more like a threat and excuse than anything reassuring to the community that is wondering what is happening. When you say things like the staff are not robots and "are very busy and have lives too ya know", it sounds like we, the customers, are in the wrong for wanting an engaged management. That is not wrong. That is wanting what all decent and living games provide today. We are paying customers. You are here because of us. You also say "all this doom and gloom is just a mood that people feel from time to time, public updates will resume when the devs are ready", and this, to me, sounds like Wurm is not about us, the players, but about you, the staff in the background, and what is good for you. More salt in the wounds.. Otherwise, your entire statement, including the title of seeing red comes off as very threatening and very unconcerned for the player base and where it stands. If anyone was doxxed or harassed, I never saw it, but that is certainly wrong and should be punished. However, deep dissent alone certainly is not grounds for punishment, and I hope that's not what is being insinuated. It feels that way. Pandalet apologized at one point for the lack of engagement by staff and mentioned holidays in Europe, but in my experience, significant holidays were always acknowledged by the game and its management, not a cause for total neglect of the game and its players. Demona, mentioned personal issues, and of course, I feel bad for such issues. Likewise, Enki acknowledged being away for a while. So my question is if all of the staff is either on vacation or out due to personal issues, at what point is this unacceptable? It's been going on for long enough. Then we receive this damning statement from Enki, like we're being bad children for being sick of how Wurm is being run right now. Wurm is a 24/7 entertainment and service-providing business. Like any other business that makes its money in this capacity, there needs to be regular engagement and management. No other business like this can just expect to disengage but then have a happy customer base that stays infinitely happy and loyal. Wurm is no exception. Instead, we've got a contest that was totally dropped with zero results but excuses, broken animal systems with no fixes in sight, zero acknowledgement of huge dates like the Steam anniversary, no monthly updates as promised, and very little communication except to make excuses and even threaten the player base for a very legitimate state of insurrection. If I get banned for saying all this, then fine, Wurm isn't the place for me, but I very much wanted to say that the disappointment in a game I love (and an alternative digital life I've long-loved) runs deep right now. It runs even deeper when there is no sincere apology from staff, but excuses and even threats over not just shutting up and expecting nothing but what staff wants to do "when they are ready." We deserve better.
