A little while ago, it was discovered that a long-time player, one of the few who settled on Celebration at its opening, passed away earlier this year in April. I reached out to his family in hopes of confirming, but I didn't receive a response. Circumstantial evidence leans heavily to the fact that Waaroku is no longer with us. Anyone who knew Waar, knew how much his deeds meant to him. He'd never let them fall. His mother posted on her social media that she was having computer issues after her son's death and needed help in order to continue the soap business. She has also posted many remembrances of him as well. He had a tough exterior, gruff demeanor and loved to push the boundaries in all the chats. He also loved to help new players and kept a public mine outside of the spawn city of Tap Dance for this reason. He was a good friend to me. I will miss him for that. As Waaroku's last deed falls, so, too, does a part of Celebration's community and history.

So I was checking out the Wood Scraps thread (Which I should really start doing more), and noticed this nice thread about posting cat pictures. While reading the thread it dawned on me. Why is there no thread for dogs? Dogs are just as cute and deserve a place here to brighten up people's days as well. So please post your dog pics!!! Let's show that thread about cats who the best pet is!!!! This is my dog Milton in his new towel I bought him for the pool! It works super well for drying him off, and the plus side is he can't shake and get the water all over me

We paid less than 3g (i won't disclose the real amount because that doesn't sound like a fair thing to do if they don't want to) , besides that, the average amount of scale that drops can very likely be worth more than 3g, so credit is due where it's due, they would have gained more golds by keeping it private, Red dragon was really needed and we are happy with how the thing went and had no problem on rewarding someone for making a red dragon public, i was told other people were offered similar amounts and refused, so no need to be salty about it i guess : )

Yes, you read that correctly. We are hosting the first ever public slaying of a RED DRAGON My unique hunting group FUNK (Freedom UNique Killers) has decided that the blood from a red dragon is just too valuable, and helps the community too much, to keep this private. This has also been made possible due to extremely generous contributions by Lethyria and Luttuosaa. And was found by my good friend Heddwyn, who was instrumental in helping me trap the beast. If you don't know, the blood from a red dragon makes a rope-making imbue. Very valuable and highly sought after by anybody who uses cordage rope as a form of favor generation. Oh yea...you get some scale too!! So gather all your alts, and lets flood NFI with tons of red dragon blood! This slaying will happen at 5:00pm PST / 8:00pm EST / 12:00midnight UTC Thursday Sept 2nd. The exact location will be disclosed Thursday morning, but this will be happening on Cadence Hope to see you all there!!! DIRECTIONS: The slaying will take place at K-19. It's only about a 5 min walk from Sonata. It is located just a few tiles off the highway, between Sunrise Valley (on the community map) and Groningen (not on the community map) both of which you can route to from the Highway. It is only about 100 tiles from Groningen. There is a pointing sign that simply says "this way' pointing to a stone path...follow the path right to the fenced area. I will try to put up a pavilion where the pointing sign is, but it's not there yet. EDIT: Pavilion is up...but honestly you'll see mass people in local before you see the pavilion. Thank you to everyone who came out for this event. 500 people in local, and there would have been more, but at 500 I think the server stopped letting people log in, and lots of people were constantly being DC'ed. Anyway, I think that is a record!! Yea NFI!! I would also personally like to thank the very kind and generous people who gave me blood after the event, as I was unable to keep my alts logged in long enough to get all of the blood I needed. However, due to said kind people I was able to get enough blood to have my rope-tool fully imbued. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!! and since I'll have a fully imbued rope tool, if you were one of the people to give me, or sell me blood super cheap, please contact me as I would like to offer you some free vyn enchants.

Right next to Groningen is my deed "Lame Horse Mine" (On the community map) anyone needing a place to stay we have a inn set up outside the walls and a small secure area for anyone needing to park for the night, the inn also has beds to lay down thy sleep heads, anyone is welcome

As others have said, they deserve plenty of credit for doing it publicly it isn't in their best financial interest and I'm super happy to see a public red as I know a lot of us have been wanting the blood.

This will be the third red dragon killed on the north servers, the first two also had this bounty presented. It will drop between 8 and 16g worth of scale and each blood could be sold for 20s or something before this public one. Sinnjinn's team is taking a massive loss on this so don't take it light heartedly.

Maybe with Wurm Unlimited released, CCAB will get all that money for advertising.

We are off to Mount Himmelspforte, passing through some more stunning deeds and take in some epic views while fighting off vertigo. Independence continues to amaze.Hope you enjoy it as much as i did being there.

Lived next to this guy for years when we built TapDance market... he was basically a member of our village when we lived there.. sad times Have a lot of good memories of our exploits

People have the option to play on any pvp server they like. The fact they don't do it and pve is now about 95% of the wurm population speaks volumes that the issues are inherently with PvP that it's not attractive in its current state. Epic has nothing unique going for it to attract new players except the quick timers. Even with that taken into account, it has too many negative things going for it to attract new people. Same for Chaos and I don't know what to say about defiance. PvP in Wurm has quite a steep learning curve with a lot of info that isn't standardized on the wurmpedia to allow people to learn some pvp basics / info before they get into it. All in all, in a Risk vs Reward analysis there's something in the final account that makes people stay away from PvP altogether.

As the GM who handled this case I would like to state that I made requests for good faith. None of which were directives, which I clearly stated in my messages. Im sorry you felt that it was a punishment. I did make similar requests to the other party, and they complied with those as well. I wish things turned out better for you. I hope you have fun in any of your other endeavours, whether it be IRL or in a game! As the purpose of this thread has run it's course, I will be locking it. The original situation has been resolved.

If it was added that a PvE server could become PvP by vote, I would quit the game immediately. I would destroy everything I owned and leave.

People rallied and demanded PvE remain PvE untouched by the madness of war. So it was written. So it was done. I can imagine beautiful deliverance suddenly being swarmed by chaos dudes bashing down all deeds and stealing everything in sight. Poor Velvetsun's beautiful deed...

Hi. I have a mostly finished deed on Xanadu that you might be interested in.

I play Wurm because it acts like a magnet on my mouse and fingers for the following reasons: a) The incredible landscapes and the total immersion that it affords me. b) When I play I can forget the real-life challenges to focus on my Wurm life. This usually means I can relax after work and recharge my 'batteries'. c) Everything on my deed(s) is created by me and even after many years playing, there are so many things left that I have to do. In Wurm the only thing that prevents me doing anything is me! d) As many folks say through the forums, the players are- almost without exception- a most friendly, helpful group. I always hear 'senior' Wurm players on my most-played server- Pristine- going out of their way to help newer players. e) I believe we ought to be thanking the development team for the way that updates have been regularly added to our game. I did not like the cooking update to begin with (because I did not fully understand it) but now love it- especially the brewing aspect. The fishing update and AH updates are still challenging my inadequate brain but I honestly believe that one day I will work it all out! Change is sometimes difficult for me and others to work with but I have found that with effort I can succeed and that of course is an additional challenge that Wurm can throw at us. f) I simply want to see how Wurm evolves further during the next years and this little thought is enough to ensure that I continue playing for the foreseeable future- I simply hope that many others will agree and continue to support Wurm. We can of course as loyal paying customers show our concerns about the path(s) taken, we can test and cajole the development team but let us do it in a positive manner and contribute even more as a group towards this great work of computer art! g) Final- and most important point- I simply enjoy playing Wurm.
