This idea that players should have "choice" and that the game should be "balanced" is just missing the point. Players already have choices. Why do so many players run around with an LT sickle, or a huge axe in aggressive mode, or a metal staff? Because after research and experimentation, each of those options was at one time considered to be the most effective. But why doesn't everybody? Because players already do have a choice. There are lots of playstyles that are viable. Just as there are several weapons that are widely considered the "best choices", so there are many that are perfectly good — just as there are different ways of raising animals. Many or most people are naturally going to tend to gravitate towards whatever is generally judged to be the most efficient. And there will be many who don't. Now, what do you suppose is going to happen if you change the balance of livestock farming? (Aside from a bunch of people getting pissed off) There's going to be a bunch of research and experimentation and then a new consensus is going to emerge about the most efficient way to raise animals. And guess what? A lot of people are going to do exactly that. Some people are going to do their own thing, just as they do now. But many, or most, will adopt whatever they think is best. In other words.... even if your proposal doesn't suck... you may find that plus ça change, plus que la même chose — the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Shafts you mean, as pegs don't make you a cart, or most furniture. However there are certain wooden things that cannot be changed around by adding a shaft last. First thing that comes to mind are shields. Arrow shafts are practically meaningless to get from arch, there's no bonuses to any rare wood types and if there was you can get them from the shafts and by extension branches. Would prefer to see arrowshafts replaced by planks

It's a community event/festival that's hosted by someone on their deed, often times they have themes to match the season, holiday, or hold some special meaning to the host. The word impalong was created long before i became a wurmian, but it refers to the action of gathering and improving items for your fellow Wurmian, it is an event where crafters and priests from across Wurm join together to improve/enchant other players gear for free. Everyone is welcome to work on their skills at the event. In addition to the imping/enchanting, there are various other things such as games and events, prize giveaways, contests, and sometimes even GM's drop in to spawn a few mobs on unsuspecting Festival-goers. Wurm advertises itself as "The Ultimate Sandbox MMORPG", and has Explore, Build, and Survive on its home page. It has over 130 skills, free and subscription style accounts, and is player driven. Lets break this down into easily understandable chunks: Survive - our avatars require food, water, shelter, tools and gear. the environment is dangerous. Build - we get to choose how and what our shelter looks like, within what the environment allows. Explore - There are beautiful landscapes, and resources available all over the place. MMORPG - Allows for each person playing to be an individual, and make his or her own choices as to what to do in game, and who to be to the rest of the community Sandbox - Nothing is permanent unless you are there to keep up repairs. Funny thing - Wurm is analogous to Real Life: ALL FIVE OF THOSE ARE PART OF LIFE. Why do i bring up Real Life? Because Real Life is about the Experience. Everyone is an individual. that makes nearly 8 billion humans all individuals, some with WILDLY different experiences to what you or I have. Wurm is THE SAME! the game is about YOUR EXPERIENCE playing it. I know what some of you are thinking ----- BuT iTs A sAnDbOx GaMe...... That is why we pay for deeds and Deed upkeep, and why DECAY exists. or ---- bUt wE pAy tO pLaY.... Not every one will get enjoyment from the game, that's the nature of individuality. as individuals we HAVE to assume that each of us WANT to be in real life(suicide is a thing after all), but when it comes to a game we cannot assume that. that is why we pay for a subscription, to prove to the game we want to be here. its not pay to win - if it were we would be able to purchase anything and everything that has ever been in game. Wurm has a mechanics system that lets you 'experience' what real life might be like in a fantasy middle ages setting, without having to actually do the actions physically. Combat, exploration, creation, destruction, the only thing we provide to wurm is the community. So, why did i type this out? because Wurm depends on its community to survive.....without us playing the game, it would not be here. and that gives us a measure of control over the game as well, we can make suggestions, help improve the game, and help promote the game so more people try it, and possibly enjoy it. Us Wurmians are a special breed of gamer - we use all of our being when playing this game: Imagination, Emotion, reason, and logic. every bit is necessary to live life as an individual, and using them in a game is an experience that tops EVERYTHING else. Some of you may wonder why im even posting this at all - its because some of us(yes I'm including myself here, cause i have been guilty of it as well) in the community need to get our heads out of our butts and stop attacking each other, and then the whole community group together to start figuring out what we can do to help get wurm back on its feet. We are the cause of SO many issues it is unreal. Our Bickering and Fighting is what is causing the population decline....and that is because the game is PLAYER DRIVEN. Humans can help ANYTHING survive! We have done so for other humans for several Millennium, we have started helping other species survive, and have even brought some back from the brink of extinction. We are MORE then capable of helping a game survive - keeping a game alive is easier then bringing back a species from extinction - Don't the rest of you think it is about time we as a community collectively asked 'How can we help?' Besides 'shutting up', because without communication, we wont survive. TL;DR Wurm is about the experience, lets start making it a better one.

First time talking to Darnok? ETA something about VR. It's nice to hear communication from devs about things being quiet recently, and what to looks forward too... until VR is mentioned. Because when I see VR, what I read is, "We neither understand nor care about the game or its players." VR support in Wurm is going to be, best case, a stupid gimmick, and most likely a massive sink of developer time and effort. Source: my years developing a VR arcade game and numerous other computer and video games.

You've asserted that there no choice, but you are simply wrong. Plenty of people hunt using other weapons and other fighting styles. Some people also raise and keep animals differently. For example, animals may be kept in an open field of enchanted grass, or at hitching posts where food is provided to them, or in a barn or stable where food is in bowls. You're just wrong.

a reserve is normally so if it e.g. ends on 60s the seller has the right to chose if they want go with the 60s or say no, as the 75 reserve was not met. making sure they can still accept lower without binding themself to it 😛

The following images are from the Wurm Unlimited Server called "KangaWU" Of course you can't put trees in buildings on wurm online but they have pots that you can make so that you CAN put them inside buildings. I think it makes the buildings look really cool.

Suggestions forum traffic seems to have been hit hard by the endless spam of awful threads that get dumpstered and progress to nothing when Darnok is unable to understand basic ideas on why their suggestion/arguments don't fit Wurm or are generally just bad. It's time to stop posting in these threads if anything peeps. I am convinced Darnok is a troll and is endlessly being fed because the bait is always being taken.

The answer to that issue is NOT to replace it with a pure RNG system where skill and patience mean nothing anymore. I don't play wurm to feel like in a casino and I'm pretty sure that applies to most players. There are crap mobile games specifically tailored for that sort of thing. Yes, it was easy in the past to get 5 speeders, I agree. However the answer isn't to go 180 and nerf the chance to get decent horses both for carts (draft) and mounts (speed traits). Nerfing cart speed, horse speed is just NOT the answer in a game where absolutely everything takes a long amount of time to do. People were / are upset for a reason. The AH update hit when, 26th of May? It's almost 26th of August and it hasn't been fixed. It's easy to understand why players are still angry / frustrated / leave negative reviews or feedback when it's been 3 months and instead of reading about AH getting fixed, we read about the future of Wurm VR. PR wise this is the worst thing you could communicate at this stage. People want fixes before anything else.
