Ever since the lighting update last year the nights have never been the same and much brighter overall. I had some people tell me it's cause of the multiple moons which cannot be true since this happens when none of the moons are up even (clear sky). Its really jarring during sunset and sunrise as well cause the light from the sun shines through the land even after it has set making everything glow red-ish anyway on the side its setting or rising, the inside of buildings as well light up when they should be shaded. Before the game looked great at night and was my favorite and after it just looks bright and weird. This is what it looks like at peak darkness, you can still see red light on the trees when the sun has been down for a long time. I am not by any other light sources in the game. I took these pictures to show what I am talking about, this is what it looks like after the sun has set behind the horizon/mountains and it only fixes once the sun has been down for long enough time but that doesn't matter much since it lasts for little time once the sun starts to rise and shines through the world again before it even crests the horizon. I am next to a mountain yet the light comes right through it to illuminate my building and trees. I don't know why nights were made lighter other than to be noob friendly but it looks bad. What nights should look like.

We need two sliders. One for the brightness of areas that have dynamic lights. One for areas that have no lights. This allows people with weird graphics hardware to adjust to it, and ensures that everyone gets the game experience they want.

Campfire A campfire at night should scare away aggressive mobs, in such a way that the player sitting close to the fire will not be attacked by migrating mob. But this feature won't work if the player starts the fight by himself, or if he was during combat or if the mob had already followed player, but distance was too large to enter combat. Leather line Cut with any knife from leather piece, although any knife except the leather knife will lower ql. It can be used as a rope for basic activities or for creating small containers that do not require metal to build. It could also be used to craft leather whip. Mini-crate A small container made of leather line and hides would act as a mini-crate, i.e. averaging ql, holds 50 items and requires no metal for creation, can't hold logs or items of that size. Improved with leather. Cargo donkey/mule We should be able to add one mini-crate or two saddle bags or two small barrels to the saddle (or to special harness). In the case of a saddle, player would have to choose either he is riding donkey or is using that saddle as cargo-saddle.

Sorry for the delay! Life's been a bit busy and I've been trying to figure out how to get them organized for judging, there's many wonderful entries!

Out of all the updates on defiance I believe the aggressive mob rarely dropping a powder was a great update and would love to see it added to chaos as well.

For me nights are super dark already. At night time I can hardly see a thing, and when trying to sail it is almost impossible. If this is something to be added then please make it a setting that can be changed.

Campfire Okay, this could work if you change it to a campfire giving a player standing on the same tile, a Fo-priest(60faith, 30favor) immunity buff to 'animals' - this by default does not include goblins, trolls, scorpions, hell scorpions, lava fiends or dragons - as this has already been coded in. At the very least it could be used as a basis of a campfire deterrent code. However. It may have to be that only 1 campfire will give this buff in a certain area - like guardtowers - to avoid it being overpowered as a mechanic. Leather line Leather strips require scissors to create. Make this a rawhide strip that can be cut with any knife directly from a hide. +1 to a plaited rope made from rawhide strips, with same ability to lead animals as a standard rope - not as a standard-recipe rope substitute. +1 to a plaited rawhide whip - for use to encourage non-aggro mobs to move away from the current tile without entering into combat with them. Popular with farmers? And the rest... At this point I'm feeling like I should be reading the entire post in reverse order. Not quite sure how a campfire is required for a cargo-donkey, but I'll give it a try: Donkey/Mule/Player-carriable bulk goods box - reuse single longbox graphic, from bsb and empty bsb rack graphics. Does not use nails or any other type of metal to create it - substitute with rawhide ropes, plaited from rawhide strips, cut with any knife, from hide. Fits in a rawhide harness cargo-slot, as can small/wine barrels. Rawhide items cannot be improved. (It is easy on its gear - draft trait) Logs (WT 80) do not fit in the bgb. Max Wt is 75.00 per box (4x dirt/ore) - quality of contents is average per type. A harnessed donkey or mule can hypothetically carry upto 150.00 WT (2 bgbs at full capacity or 3 liquid-full barrels). Positive traits may be required to achieve this. Young/f2p/portalled accounts using this mechanic on the frontier might require additional protection. Thus, outside of guard tower influence, and at guard tower spacing, a campfire will confer a Fo-like buff immunity from any 'animal' that has not already aggroed the player or their pet, whilst standing on the same tile as the campfire. Rawhide whip - plaited from rawhide strips - can be used to encourage a non-aggro animal to move away from the current tile without entering into combat with them. and/or Lit torches equipped/in-inventory reduce aggro range of mobs for any account <20.01 Fighting Skill

Hi @KionScar, actually wasn't aware of this issue. I was considering to just drop parents from these validations and now I see I need to do just that. Thanks for pointing it out. Does the workaround of manually updating parent names in Granger help to fix this for now? ---- Hi folks. As usual I'm late with everything, but I guess it's nothing new when it comes to my Wurm Assistant updates. I've been having a lot of trouble getting Granger to love me again and just bend to my will for the required update. I've finally decided to take it slower and the nearing WA update will not have breeding assistant included. I quite feel I just need to release anything, so that yer increasing beer supply that im drinking as soon as delivered, is not wasted! But of course the breeding assistant will be back. And I welcome any ideas as to how it should work to be most useful. Some of the new inbreeding aspects seem a little foggy. Cheersy!

-1. By playing on a Chaos you accept the inherent risks and ramifications of playing on a Chaos. If you don’t like it then simply play on Defiance. Gosh, I can’t believe Chaos players want to make the server more interesting. It’s like they want equal rights or something.

Category: Combat and Defense Deed: Lorewood, Xanadu H23 Xanadu is a peaceful village with lovely neighbors and picturesque views. But no matter where you go in Xanadu, the threat of trolls and other unsavory characters still threaten villages all over the map. To protect the villagers, Lorewood has a great wall that surrounds it's borders and guard towers near the entrances to ensure the safety of travelers and villagers alike. Lorewood's Main Gate The East Gate and Eastern Guard Tower A guard standing watch over villagers maintaining the orchards Probably most impressive is the Harbor Gate where ships enter Lorewood for trade. The high walls protect the small harbor from attack as well as squalls that are common in the area in the summertime. And here is the view from within the massive walls. Even with these defenses and small guard units stationed at each entrance, the village's defenders do sometimes succumb to wounds in battle. For those, the small graveyard is well maintained and often visited to show the continued respect and appreciation of those who gave their lives to defend Lorewood.

Category: Wacky and wild Server: Xanadu (M10 Highway towards east from Hermit's Rest) So this is what happens when you want to connect to a road but there is mountain in your way... Smart move of course would have been to either make zigzag road up (but I wanted straight road) or tunnel through (but I had done so much tunneling already). So being not so smart I chose to surface cut my way. Also, this road goes from west to east, but I also incorporated the road going north-south above the mountain into this. A view entering the area from south Entering the area from east Looking towards west from the bridge Few numerical facts: from beginning of the road the highest point in the way was something of 1800-2000 dirt up, not completely sure as I did not record all of process at beginning. Right now from start of ramp to level of colossi and bridges is 1760 dirt height. Water is about 110 lower. (There is marked path of power tile in southeast of area, colossi and bridges are not quite high enough.) Ramp goes up 32 tile length, after that road to east runs further 80 tiles that needed to be surface mined. Parts going north and south are together about 80-90 tiles of serious terraforming. Numbers of tiles may not sound that much, but please remember when going more than 300 slope, means you need to change the tiles next too. And maybe tiles next to them as well, to get the needed slope over distance. Little edit: addition to highlight some of the scope of this as pictures and numbers don't convey it that easily. The 4 colossus and 4 bridges at the top of the area took me something like a week to craft, maybe less. This whole road-thingy...no clue, couple years or so, probably more, difficult to say as I think I started this around 2017, not sure, but took few several month breaks from the game and just finished the last decorations now. Just saying if you try to do similar thing, don't expect to finish it tomorrow - Nestangol (Mayor of Northwind Cove, owner of Hermit's Rest, Maker of West Hammer Lake Canals etc.)
