    Yeah, I feel like this is among the more egregious of the numerous methods they have of forcing premium purchases. What could possibly be the justification here, especially considering the fact that we earned those marks by buying premium in the first place? It's like if a coffee shop were giving out free coffees to customers who bought a bunch of coffees, like where they punch your card every time you buy one and whatnot, and then when you finally have all the holes punched and you try to claim your free coffee, they tell you "You may only have a free coffee if you pay us the price of a coffee." Bah! Loyalty needs to go both ways guys. Else the customer's gonna end up feeling burned.

    This is a slightly odd post, but I figured it's worth a try! I recently returned to the game after a break of some time, and discovered that my beloved black sheeps had all died. I had thought I had a ewe cared for, but sadly poor Truffle is no more. I spent about 5 years breeding up my herd so I was rather upset to discover them all gone. Now I have sold a few to people over the years, but I can't remember who to! Did I sell you any sheep? Do you have any of their descendants left? If so I'd love to buy some and have some members of my old line back. Thank-ewe! (Reposted cos I posted in the wrong place before!)

    1. A grey base model of all meditation and floor rugs which allow us to dye them. Been asking since 2017. 2. Dresses for characters. Some of us are girls. Some of us aren't. Some would like more customization than facial hair. Don't gender lock it, but please add some dresses. 3. Full size versions of the Miner, Digger, Axeman, and swordsman statuettes added to the Archaeology Skill. The item exists for the starter/tutorial area, so please incorporate that for everyone to liven up our villages a bit more. 4. The ability to put more books on empty bookshelves. Seriously, they're sad looking when "full". We want libraries. Some of us have found really cool things to do with these books, and we want it to be visually appealing as well. 5. A fleshed out taxidermy system which allows us to display some of our proud kills and lucky finds. 6. A Ferryman object which expands the Wagoner system to cross servers with deliveries. This object would be placed at shorelines with access to server borders (not inland lakes, must be salt water) as a connection to the highway system which allows shipping routes to be picked up and ferried to the other servers. On the other side it would be picked up by an idle public wagoner and continue it's journey. 7. The ability to sell containers (non-sealed) that are full on merchants. This would allow armor sets, satchels of small items such as seeds or sprouts, and other items to be sold on merchants in bulk without disrupting the integrity of the deed permissions. Heck even bartenders would be an option with this selling mugs of ale. 8. While we are at it, let us dress our merchants. Liven up those merchant deeds and give some interest to the few NPCs we have. 9. The ability to dye the Canopy Bed. We can dye the regular ones, but not the extra fancy? That seems silly. 10. A deck of playing cards and tarot cards made with papyrusmaking skill. These would open a mini game (like checkers) we can take on the road to pass time before rifts and other adventures. Tarot cards may forecast something interesting (giving a buff for +% chance of rare for period of time, or higher chance of encountering a troll for poor result) 11. Bone dice carved from skulls for games of chance. 12. More image options for shop signs. 13. The ability to relocate a deed token. 14. Let us craft a token-like item which allows us to withdraw from the bank when placed on a deed. This encourages market deeds and makes our own deeds more customizable. 15. Make going out and hunting away from our deeds more enticing. Give us new mobs, like a troll or goblin camp. Have there be items that we can collect from aggressive corpses, like pieces of new recipe variants. Make uncommon and rare or better crafting variants that are learned through hunting that give us a different-looking crafting option on items, like an armor stand that displays plate instead of studded leather. And finally, thank you for fulfilling my suggestion of traits for the production animals. It's been a challenge to try to get the right traits on my herd and has made tending the flock more interesting and exciting!

    Idea: random traits spawn, frequently, on wild animals perhaps with a distribution like 30% 0 traits, 60% 1 trait, 9% 2 traits, 1% three traits. This can give combat some flavour - why did that troll kick my ass? It had a combat trait! This can give a combat purpose to animal husbandry - identifying if that troll is about to kick your ass This can give new breeders a head start - granted they're willing to look around and shop for animals with the sort of traits they want This can give old breeders a way to escape the dominant trait system more easily Maybe don't extend this to rare traits

    Requirements:- 60JS (making the gears and other components), the ability to build on the 3rd story, default wall requirements, and 70 milling. Can only be built on floor 3 or above, costs the same as a normal wall with the additional cost of... 40 shafts, 40 cloth squares, a grindstone, a gearbox (unlocks at 60 JS, made from steel only). A 5x5 area (vertically) must be clear (no other buildings or trees planted in the clear area), bushes ok. Once completed, acts like a bridge over that area and prevents building/tree planting there. This area must also be no more than 10 dirt higher than the ground floor level. The wall acts as a container (openable from both sides technically but only 1 has a floor so...) and any grains/spices/rock salt put in there are milled/ground at a speed based on the wind strength (rotational animation speed varying with wind strength). The wall texture is based on the wall it is modelled after. The aim here is a windmill that functions, does not clip too much, and is a nice mid-late game project for a player or village.

    I bred a few 3-draft bison and one 4-draft bison so far. That being said, I absolutely hate this patch. Mostly every animal born is slaughtered due to a mixture of bad/pointless traits. After three hotfixes parent names are still mixed up and trait points still don't add up. Very underwhelming. I am also wondering about the "twins" trait. If these rare traits are hereditary (and they better are!) then this one is utterly bad since it would prevent offspring from getting the worthwhile rare speed/draft traits. Shouldn't rare traits be good by definition?

    Many players mistakenly believe that that if they’re unable to navigate on day one, they’ll never be able to. When I first started playing the game, I would often get lost within 50 tiles of my own deed. Now I go anywhere and everywhere without a problem or a care. To to get better at navigating, you have to practice. If you practice, you will get better at it, and if you don’t, you won’t. It's one of a handful of skills in the game that reside entirely in the player, rather than in the character. For this reason, I’d be extremely saddened and disappointed to see it disappear. It would make the game a lot less interesting and a lot more run-of-the-mill. Therefore it's a hard no on the mini-map from me.

    Gonna just drop this here since I didn't receive a response in GL. I'd strongly advise that you include a disclaimer in your post of the following A. How strongly you advertise for your twitch channel (the twitch channel URL is even the name of one of the buildings) B. How players may be included in your stream C. How you stream far more often than actually have anything to do with your community (aside from answering questions in your discord) D. How players items (including cart inventory) are confiscated and/or redistributed after they haven't logged on in so long If you are curious but hesitant about joining this place and would like to pm me for more information- my inbox is open. I have both good and bad to say about it.

    I don't feel like trade is all that a relevant factor for linking (though I don't care much for trade so that could simply be bias speaking). What I do feel is relevant is that the player counts on both clusters are getting quite low now, once a community becomes too small you'll get a feedback loop of people leaving due to a lack of community interaction and it feeling like there is nobody else playing the game. The servers really should be merged before hitting that point, assuming we aren't there already. Besides that there's also the advantage of having more to explore, of being able to meet new people, etc. With the current state of the servers I can't really think of a good reason not to merge them, especially now that enough time has passed that new players on the north cluster can already have competitive crafting skills for those interested in trade. Looking at the suggestions forum even Defiance is having player count issues, so said merger would be good for PvP as well even if it might introduce certain ancient, overpowered, accounts to Defiance.

    There was a pretty vocal push for this in the priest thread, so I think it's deserving of a proper thread since the reason for bounce back was pretty weak (and I mean that in the most polite way possible) For years people have wanted a spell with this effect so they wouldn't need to do silly things like balancing bad and severe wounds with bad healing covers. Now that the priest changes have happened with some new spells being added, now seems a perfect time to make this happen. There are a lot of good reasons to make this happen, beyond adding value to gods already on the table. Mag is lacking in good spells for him to cast on items, since Stone Strike is pretty niche in its own way. Less actions = less chances to score an affinity This in its own way is a good balance point. It means this is only likely to be used by the people who need to get some serious grind in where their current skills might hinder them (high stamina/path of power accounts) Offers more spell variety for tools So far, we only really slap one or two casts on our tools. We either have only CoC or WoA, both, or BoTD (with BoTD being rarer since Lib spells on Freedom are pretty crappy as it is) By adding a spell for slower actions, we increase the variety we see on tools, opening more options for priests to fund their premium time now RMT is going bye bye and most importantly, give a better player experience without needing to do dumb stuff we don't enjoy (wound balancing) In the run up to Steam, this could be considered a great feature to add to the list of things brought in to polish the game for release. How well Steam goes could be affected pretty heavily by the current Wurm population. With a lot of rocky announcements and general unease from the community, I think this would do a lot to help relieve the older, veteran playerbase who want to see some good QoL that will help them play.

    It's not impolite, and you make good points. Do you feel that attempting any version of a half merge is out of the question? Or does a merge between the clusters need to be all or nothing? If it has to be all or nothing, why?

    Not wanting to be impolite, but such would be terrible. The implementation alone would cause instabilities which might make a considerable part of the population (especially newer ones on NFI) quit. Further on, it would require creating double bank accounts which would break the login and accounting database (and shop) in its current architecture. And before implementation, there would be virtually no way to live test it. All their merits acknowledged I have troubles to trust that the development team could seamlessly handle such a transition which requires more than changing horse colours or animal husbandry which have not even been a role model of gracious implementation. If only for that reason, no please. Such a half assed change with far reaching consequences, only to keep the carpetbaggers' cash cows inside the pen seems disproportional to me.

    My guess is that the dominant category is to blame for the bad results, from the patch news: All my old (pre-patch) horses have 3 speed traits, 2 drafts traits, 2 miscellaneous traits and 1 combat trait. I reckon the new code now sees the 3 speed traits as the dominant category and thus passes the 3 speed traits (frequently) on to the foals. However, that are only 45 traits points and the tally needs to be filled to 90 trait points somehow. And thus the RNG comes on and fills 45 traits points with random negative or miscellaneous traits.

    I'm sorry but I really, really love mills, and I'd love to see them in Wurm. Really not a fan of the magic-wall with a steel-gearbox idea. I DO like the idea of it being something you can put on top of a building. Castles often had a mill built-in. Personally I would say the it would have to be built like a guard-tower/bridge. You can drop the windmill base several storeys up (outside), but there must be 5x5x5 of clear space around/above it to continue building. Check out this video: Dutch Windmill Inside - YouTube (simple, Archimedes-screw pumping-station) Not a single steel gear in sight. Building one would surely be more akin to a cross between shipbuilding and making belltowers. It MUST be able to be rotated by the player to adjust for /weather, preferably by climbing up inside it. And it MUST be have the ability to have its sails raised/lowered when it is stationary, before releasing the brakeshoes. A grindstone is not a millstone. A millstone is more on the scale of a stone keystone. Now personally I would love this to not only be able to make anything a millstone and a mortar and pestle can make, but also the fruit-press and the press. There's no reason is shouldn't be able to do everything a spindle, spinning wheel and ropetool can do. And if it made dye, mortar, lye and concrete, and could be used to Discard bulk materials too... 😍 It would be, undeniably, the start of the Wurmian Industrial Revolution. I mean, it's obvious it's a war machine, right?? Sorry, but if you want a use for high JS, it's not this. Maybe a sextant, or an orrery, alchemistry tools, or even a clock tower?     Yes, pls merge them, the gape when it comes to trade is closing in anyway, so dont see any reason to keep them seperate. Its time for the community to joine forces against the danger lurking in the World of Wurm

    Market shouldn't really be the main reason a merge shouldn't happen. As others have pointed out the market in wurm should just be "another mechanic" and not the main attraction or reason to play the game. If you want an example on what happens to servers that aren't linked to the core population of Wurm, look at what happened to Epic when it was kept apart from the main playerbase. It died off. There's enough precedent that shows what happens when you isolate a cluster from the rest of the playerbase. Do we need another?

    I get that comparing wurm to reality is silly. But i am silly and i am intending to be silly. Imagine in reality that you, a master of animal husbandry are breeding your prized stud and mare, two horses with perfect amazing race horse qualities and finding that every single time without fail they always produce a child with 3 legs. This is how the new update feels. The combination of two olympic gold medalists of the equine world should not consistently produce a child who'd get a participation medal in the special olympics.
