    With the significantly decreasing population growth on the NFI, I don’t see why merging NFI and SFI would be a bad thing. We are averaging about 400 players and alts included on all NFI servers at peak hour on Niarja. Unless there is some plan to advertise and entice new players to come to Wurm Online to increase the population five fold like in the beginning of the steam launch, merging the NFI and SFI could be one of the best courses of action to take to keep the current populations somewhat connected.

    Yes, I remember that. I personally think NFI has had enough time to establish itself. There are many good reasons to connect. NFI players may want to go to SFI to explore the rich history of the lands. NFI players may also want to try their hand at Epic. Both sides may want to cross-explore or even relocate. Having disconnected worlds with so few population contributes to stagnation both socially and economically. But I also think many of those who remain on NFI are actually just SFI alts. In my opinion, dangling new worlds in front of Wurmians has never been a long-term success. It is always a short-term solution to a larger issue, I think. I just wish the devs would share their thoughts on the subject and give us some legitimate estimate on when such an event might occur.

    The thing is, "thoughts on the subject" become "the devs said" It's not a yes/no answer, and it impacts more than just a single players game. You're not going to get an answer because the only answer that can be given is "not sure" As for a time frame, that's just not possible to give, for the above reason. Tl;Dr Don't expect an answer because you're asking for definitive responses when that's just not possible

    Sounds like a convoluted workaround for a system that doesn't seem to be working as intended. The update over-complicated breeding and at this point we're adding more and more data that supports the AH update is indeed broken and cripples breeders as a whole. Can we get some staff news on whether a fix is incoming or balancing/ trait probability issues are looked at? At his point the only good thing that came out of this update is the fact I made 2 silvers by taking an axe to my foals. (moments of inspiration)

    Pristine Community Map Welcome to the new Community map. Welcome your new editors: @AlmostSolitude2, @Explora , @Ohana @Sidereal, @Vannin Special thank you to @Yaga for hosting and designing. Map Link: Pristine Community Map Features 1. Map coordinates The map offers a common type of map grid (as an optional overlay), using the same denotation as the in-game map (for example "E 24"). However, to place and find locations in a much more detailed way the new map is based on "tile coordinates" (x, y), making it possible to narrow down locations to a single tile on the server! This allows us to place deeds and landmarks much more precisely than before. (Map coordinates are explained in the next post.) 2. Zoom The map provides various zoom levels, allowing to zoom in from a view of the entire server to close-ups of single deeds. 3. Layers Deeds, Tunnels, Canals, Bridges etc. are actually map layers which can be toggled on and off. You can also choose among two map types (Terrain, Topographical). 4. Finding settlements The map offers an easy-to-use search function for deeds. 5. Finding Guard Towers and Mission Structures The map offers an easy-to-use search function for Guard Towers(T) and Mission Structures(M). 6. Selecting locations and copy coordinates You are able to select any point on the map and save the coordinates for future use. Deeds: Please report the settlement name and the coordinates of the settlement token.     I can see arguments for and against merge. Luckally I am not in charge of that decision. And instead of using this post to raise my opinion about if / when it should happen, I instead give a +1 for what I believe is the OP intention. Asking the devs what they think, and maybe some indications about timeframe.

    Pvp being a "horse meat grinder" is exactly why it is such a big problem, you need to actually have the horses to go into battle with before you can dismiss thier value... which in turn makes them invaluable.... no horses - no pvp

    Category : Place of Business My entry is my market on Release called "Greenwood Market" I've always wanted to create a marketplace that's more than just some market stalls together. I wanted it to feel more real and have merchants show off their wares. It's been a labour of love for a long time and will continue to be so, I always love improving things or adding new items or merchants. It's a bit difficult to show off everything and all the details without posting a million screenshots, so do come visit the market (Release, N8) to see for yourselves all the bits I've missed Greenwood Market - N8 Release Kitchen area with merchants for beverages and cooking items Upstairs is a cosy seating area like an inn, where guests can enjoy some good company with food and drink and relax with a game of checkers On the other side of the building we have some merchants. Our Rift item merchant, dye merchant and the archaeology corner. Leaving the building you'll find the rare and special items merchants next door In the smithy building you can buy jewellery, gems, armour, weapon and blacksmithing items On the north side of the market you can find shipping and bulk items; as well as enchants and fishing Next to that you will find the merchant selling animal gear and the self help animal pens In the Tailors and Carpentry building you'll find merchants tending to your carpentry, leatherworking and cloth tailoring needs, together with one selling banners Thank you!

    Its that time of the year again for the 4th (3rd) (2nd) (1st) annual Friend-A-Long! This event is brought to you by Dragon Beard Markets, the Academy Network Alliance of Pristine, and random donors like you! This years Event will be held July 20th to the 25th. Some of you may be asking what is an Imp-along? Well basically is a community event where everyone gets together to imp and cast for each other for free! Its basically a week long party, packed with all sorts of fun, games, booze, food, death, death, death, and other random events, Anyone can come, anyone can help imp. Often people just come to grind there skill for free. You don't have to be able to get to maximum quality imp, just do what you can and someone else will finish up the work! The only real restrictions is on channeling skill to help prevent shattered items. Please if you want to contribute please make a post including the skills that your want to work with so we can get a generally idea of skill coverage. Be sure to include your characters names as well if you want to register for a room/bed. We have collected a massive amount of materials, cotton, body bags, and prizes. As I always say, If you didn't die at the imp-along you did it wrong! As usual the deed has had some upgrades in terms of storage and prize display this year. The ever generous Ladygodiva produced the mats and built the whole thing! Staff Members Lists AKA "Wurm Lords": Imping Materials: All materials provided will be stocked in the resource carts/wagons next to each station, the general public will not have access to the bulk of materials, please try to NOT COMBINE tiny lumps like silver, gold, electrum, and the like for imping larger items like weapons and shields. Material usage will be much higher, and we will get many less imps out of the total stock of that material, less used is more imps for everyone! If you need a refill on something please ask in local or a "Wurm Lord" for refill. This year we will be providing some higher then 70q Materials during the last few days as sort of a reward for those people who stick around and the work flow slows down a bit more. Expect to see up to 90q Logs, Iron, and maybe leather available for further imps towards the end of the event. At this time we have about 1.1 Million Favor worth of cordage ready to go! Bring them by during the event to get some free genesis casts and remove those dirty traits! The Friendship inn and Lounge, has a pleasant little relaxation area on the room with a variety of booze for you discerning wurmian hooligans. The inn is capable of bedding 80 characters in 70 secure rooms with storage options. If you need a secure room for your stay please make a post requesting a room, be sure to include your character(s) names in the post. There is also a large piece of land set aside for "Tent City" Just outside the inn on the sandy beach area next to the docking (parking) slips on the East end of the event location. Room Reservations: What we still need: A few more Non ebony, same aged same stat horses for the races. A dragon egg if one still exists? please? please? Ill pay! Drake hide bits for the grand prize!, paying 40c/0.01, every little piece helps! Some various materials listed on the chart above. Long term reputable players willing to help administer the event. Mainly resource deployment, and fueling needs. Random donations for prizes, could be nearly anything. Rare items, tools, gear, Kingdom flags, rare decorations, hota's, etc... you get the idea! Fish..... a bunch of of largest fishes and sharks, so people can choose there weapons.... A cook interested in providing the food required for such an event! Thank you @Eveningand @brattygirl Probably some other things im to insane to remember right now. How to get your items imped, casted or bloods mixed: So these events work because people enjoy helping each other out, but a very important catch to that is that they do not want to feel abused or taken advantage of! Thoe it may seem like things are hard to track, that would be a mistake to assume. The veteran impers and caster keep a close eye on who is dropping what and taking advantage of peoples generosity. Every event I end up taking peoples items for taking advantage of others (after a fair warning, if its not obvious abuse). The veterans who help out and imp/cast at these things will not hesitate to report suspected abuse if they think there being taken advantage of and I totally encourage this. As soon as they feel taken advantage of these things are dead! NAME YOUR ITEMS WITH YOUR COMPLETE CHARACTER NAME! Nothing else is needed, just make sure you move it to the correct locations as work progresses. ANY items that are not properly named will be secured and probably forfeit since identification is difficult. Creators tag will NOT be relied on. To be clear this means bring your existing gear, not create 1 of everything for every alt and bring it for free work, this will almost certainly result in the loss of your items and possible ban from future events. LIMITATIONS: A couple of weapons, suits of armor, a set or two of horse shoes, a couple of hammers, 1 of most other items... You get the idea, just keep it reasonable. Do not create your items on site, particularly with the higher q imping mats. The only times items should be created is to replace shattered ones. So be sure you bring everything! Blood Mixing: We have a large supply of source salt for potion making, so feel free to bring your bloods for mixing. Hopefully well get a couple high skill volunteers who can do them for us! Got a nice NS and Alchemy? drop me a line here or PM me if your willing to help out with mixes and imbues. Please keep the number of bloods your having mixed to 10 or less more might be mixable on the last day if there is still salt. This should be enough to get a single tool completely imbued. If you have extra source salt we can mix additional bloods with that. Auntie@Siderealhas promised to mix the bloods for us this year, so if she doesn't ill show you all where she lives and you can camp out on here lawn. Don't worry its not far from the event deed! Ship Parking and Imps: If your getting your ship improved PLEASE enable passenger for "Everyone" to help out the impers and prevent accidental drownings. Don't expect your ship to be imped without it. The WEST end of the deed is for people who would like there ships imped as well. Please move your ship once it has been imped help keep congestion down in the area for the Impers. The EAST end of the deed on the beach side near tent city is for general parking. Please do not park in the lane adjacent to the Arena on the east side, it is for prize ships. What is expected of you as a patron: Be polite and be respectful! Don't forget to put your characters NAME ON ALL YOUR ITEMS! Cant stress this enough. Anything not properly named is likely to be lost or stuffed in an overflow bin, and once moved with no name, there is basically no way to identify it as yours. Please try and remove your items promptly once imped/casted to avoid having your items secured in overflow. You do NOT need to label them with what cast/imp you want, just your name. Just make sure you place them in the correct container. Do NOT abuse people's generosity! Don't bring 10 or even 5 of the same item for imping/casting. The only real exception to this might be horse shoes. Anyone caught taking advantage will forfeit there items and be asked to leave. And the veteran impers do know what to look for, i removed almost 100 items last year due to abuse, and it was veterans who tipped me off. Do NOT sell items that were done for you at the impalong. Its about helping people out, not taking advantage of someone else's work to put coin in your pocket. If caught you will be banned from future events. Getting items casted is at your own risk! Thoe the priest will be required to have at least 70 channeling and demonstrate so with there 70+ title. Shatters can and will happen at an event like this. Item quality plays a big in this so if your going to get something casted, consider imping it first. If an item is shattered, and its reproducible on site, feel free to ask someone with skill to re craft it for you. You should not need to pick any items up that are not your (nor will you be able to inside a building) If your items are moved to overflow please contact a "Wurm Lord" Items are only returned to the character named on it! Also feel free to help imp items even if you don't have that skill to 70. The only real restriction is channeling. Everyone is welcome to help out! Consider this an opportunity to grind your skills and no expense to you other then time. Mats and favor are provided so go crazy imp or cast all the things! When you complete and imp or cast please call it out in local to the owner something like "/me VirusMD your pickaxe imp is done!" This should help keep things flowing particularly for items waiting to receive multiple casts. Please check on your items frequently when possible to avoid having them moved into overflow storage. What is expected as an Imper or Caster at the Friend-A-Long: Please do NOT improve items that are not correctly labeled! Instead report them to an admin to be secured. This is considered abuse since we cannot tell whos item is being imped. All of the above + PLEASE name your lumps/materials if you have to put them back in the forge etc 70+ in your imping skills of choice is recommended but feel free to chip in with whatever skills you have for imping. The final 2 days or so there will be higher q mats available for higher q imps, assuming the workflow is going smoothly. 70+ Channeling skill is required to be permitted to cast on other people's items. You should be sure to wear your 70+ channeling title. The Deed: The imping hall itself it a 5 floor (3 double floors) pottery building with slate/marble decor. Broken into 3 floors dedicated to various tasks. The First floor is the casting/sermon area, I've broken all the spells into 4 main groups, based on the spell/priests that cast it. each group has at least 2-4 dedicated altars PER priest for that category. So no worries about tripping over each other at the altar! All organized into corners, In the center of it all is another ring of altars, surrounding a rare altar for the sermon goers, and the building is designed in such a way, that everyone above you should be counted as listeners for HUGE faith ticks! In the corners you will find some relaxing area's to afk/get out of the way in along with stairwells to the other floors. The second floor is for Non smithing related imps, broken into 4 main area's depending on the skill used. The 3rd is the forge area, equppied with 24x forges broken into sections for organization. Drop AND Take are enabled on deed outside of buildings again this year for the purposes of butchering and looting during arena events. Please keep this in mind and do not leave your possessions outside un-attended, if you move more then a few tiles away your items could be taken by anyone. Treat is as in the wild! If Trash becomes a problem I may reconsider this policy and disallow looting. Trash should be burned in a forge or sacrificed in an altar, or placed in one of the trash heaps around deed. If your a visitor of the server and want to take advantage of a maxed out enchanting and rarity window bonus you can join the village, this is also a good option of you forgot to bring a tent! If you would like to join just PM VirusMD to get an invite. Secured/Overflow Item Recovery: If one of your items has been moved to overflow please ask a "Wurm Lord" to retrieve it for you. Be sure to tell the the precise name of the shelf its on so they can find it quickly! For example "Casting Overflow SW3" will tell them what floor, what corner and what shelf your item is on. To avoid having your items secured try and make sure your checking on them and moving them as needed so that other peoples work can be processed. Be patient if you need something returned, everyone is a volunteer, and there may not always be someone around to retrieve your item. Any items left over anywhere that are properly named will be mailed back to there owner shortly after the close of the event. Sermons: Sermons are volunteer led, if you wish to participate in the sermon group please ask for a sermon team invite in local, and get further information for slotting inside that channel.     Hi, I'm new in Wurm Online since a week, and I've noticed I get micro stutters constantly when moving around or walking. I was running it at around 140 fps but also tried it at 100 and 60 by capping it. It's freezing for a micro second and drops around 15 to 20 Fps every time it happens. I've asked in the Discord and it does seem fairly normal, although I just wanted to ask here if there's a solution for this? a graphical setting maybe? I'm actually focusing on it now so it bothers me. And does it occur because of the rendering of further distances? Actually quite curious why it is happening.. Thank you!

    Opening of feeding troughs gives an inventory like window where one has to click open (or use expand all) the trough before being able to put stuff into (the trough containing a "trough, <xx>wood"). A logical reason for cannot be seen, maybe inherited from some other container such as bcu or crate rack. Please let trough appear as open container, and allow to drop stuff without opening.

    Not sure if suggestion here or bug report elsewhere... But I think a glow rune on saddle or bridle should work. Horses are people too, they afraid of darkness!

    How much information do you want? I'm not sure if you want to say figure out and discover affinities or you'd rather someone give your list. 1. Unfermented moonshine is the best beverage for affinity timers and ccfp. 2. herb tea and tea are the second best but its a lot less advantageous compared to first. All the rest of the beverages have horrible ingredient variety which means you can't make many affinities from them.

    mag who can't dig, healing resistance makes having more than 2-3 fo's to get around tangleweaves pointless if you raid a deed with 1-2 people who can dig thats on you, but two people can flatraise a ramp pretty fast if the dirt is already in crates you don't use refresh in a defending scenario you just walk into a minehop, healing resistance and spell resistance make multiple people spamming spells have no effect so you just don't use them more than once corrupt with 10 links (which shouldn't be a problem if you have so many lib priests that you can't dig a wall) turns all tiles within a 23x23 area centered around the caster into mycellium which removes all enemy kingdom tile bonuses, and lib global turns any altar influence into mycellium too. Libs combat bonus is also not tied to mycellium, all the bonuses apart from a very mild stamina reduction when moving on mycellium are not pvp related at all so not really an issue. at a deed you're probably going to be fighting on pavement much more than mycellium anyway.

    Jack, sure, wasn't meant as an attack. My point is: with the old scheme, only a smaller fraction of horses get bad traits, and the traits are not all that harmful, e.g. constantly hungry when a horse's life is short anyway, even less overly aggressive etc. So maybe BL had at best 10% less useful horses to be culled and re-bred instead of patched with Genesis, hardly game breaking :). The recent situation differs.

    It would be a bad idea in PvP too. It would suffice to get back to the pre patch where bad traits were an exception, happening every 1 in 5 to one in 10 if breeding was done on deed, both parents had healthy traits, no inbreeding occurred, and the tiles per animal ratio was above 15. Under those circumstances, it did not make any significant difference if an animal was culled instead of being healed from the bad trait by Genesis. In PvE, a single animal may matter, and consequently, it is left to the powers of Fo to grant relief. In PvP, a horse life does not count anything, PvP is a horse meat grinder. Recently, WL and BL are both culling like mad in PvP because the results are crap for both. The solution is in fixing the broken and ill designed AH, not fiddling with casts.

    Yes, currently putting items in the trough requires two opening actions. Ideally, as you say, we should be able to drag food items onto/into the trough model without opening it, including from inventory, from the ground using CTRL+Drag, from vehicles, and from bulk containers (triggering the usual Removing Items popup). +1

    I agree that the AH changes are completely botched when it comes to breeding. The question is, how can it be repaired. A first step would be to reduce the occurrence of negative traits to the pre change level, when negative traits on deed from healthy, non inbred parents inside the animals per tiles values were a rare occurrence, maybe 1 in 5 to 7 births. Next, the probability of inheritance of traits from parents had to be raised to pre change levels. Maybe, in addition, "output traits" should be confined to animals where output may matter, namely cows, sheep, pigs, to a reduced extent bisons.

    Just going to toss this out there..... AH is flat out broken now. 4sp x 3sp + 1 draught, 65 AH, parents from completely different breeders, about as unrelated as it is possible to get: [10:07:24] It has fleeter movement than normal. It looks very unmotivated. It is unusually strong-willed. It looks constantly hungry. It seems vibrant. It has been bred in captivity. Dropped 2 matching in both parent speed traits, added 3 negative traits and an output trait. So much for breeding towards dominant trait pool. While this is probably an extreme example, I have not found it unusual for foals to have less of the dominant pool traits than their parents, not more as would be expected if we are to believe what was stated. A vast majority of foals are being born with at least 1, often more, negative traits. Available points from AH are not being used, not one of dozens of foals used my available point totals, the closest being 5 points below my cap, and usually using negative trait points to even get this close. Breeding timers are making 0 sense. After getting to 70 AH specifically for the ability to see breeding cooldown timers, they are completely broken showing seemingly random hours, often in the 100+ bracket when ready to breed. The ONLY animal I inspected that showed ready to breed was one that had just been bred and was not able to be bred. Male horses which should have a maximum time till ready of 1 hour, showing times over 100 hours. Horses that on examine say "[11:01:56] You can breed them again now.", but showing completely different hours when using the inspect window. Horses showing as ready to breed on both examine and inspect: [11:06:59] The aged fat Goldrock '3s1d F (Dancedog' doesn't seem to be in the mood right now. (not hungry, was tested) Hunrgry status showing as not hungry, no matter what. Animals on packed tiles, in pens, with no food source near and that will eat multiple times when fed, show not hungry. 2 out of 3 foals born with the extremely sick trait were dead by adolescent foal age. Not sure that I would describe that as "Has a very slim chance to pass away when it recieves a hunger tick" and would seem to indicate to me that Genesis is an absolute must for them. Parentage male/female reversed in the inspect window. Wild caught animals do not show up as parents in the inspect window. I, and most of the other breeders I have spoken to in game, feel that not only has the AH update failed to address the problem of higher animal husbandry being a problem for breeding, but has actually gone even further in making it worse. This is speaking as somebody who has bred on old servers at 70+ AH levels, and while it was extremely hard work to develop matching parents in order to breed reliably for the outcome sought, it now looks to be a lost cause in getting matched parents (and even with those and the results being reported from matched parents elsewhere) the outcome of breeding them is losing the matching traits other than the dominant pool ones.

[14:02:19] Her mother is the venerable fat Eckerlightning. Her father is the venerable fat Fleacliff. It's ok to refer to an animal as "it", but why do we need to use "they/them" when we already know the gender?
