Apologies for the drop in communications, we've been quite busy fixing the reported issues and still revising the general balance of things such as vehicle speed. Vehicle speed is also subject to some bugs (that we believe we've fixed already for the next update), but in general we'll still be tweaking them to make vehicles faster. Expect an update tomorrow fixing most of the annoying things, and after that we'll chase up the remaining issues that weren't confirmed to be bugs yet and either fix those or clarify the intended functionality. The update won't contain vehicle speed tweaks yet, but we'll try to get that in as soon as possible. We're also working on clarifying some of these patch notes, as it seems some of those were taken from an outdated source, mainly regarding the horse traits - we'll clarify all of those here by editing these patch notes and we'll work with Wurmpedia staff to get the confirmed details on Wurmpedia as well.

These are needed to carry foraging items back to the village, such as kelp from the beach, or herbs, fruit and nuts from the valleys, even kindling wood. The panniers could be made out of a combination of cloth, or willow and/or reeds. These could decay slowly with use and would need reeds to improve using thatching (weaving) skill. They could be an adaptation of the existing saddlebags item. The donkeys 'carry more' trait (or similar) could enable heavier loads.

I was hoping the new feeding containers would reduce or stop decay so we could put down more food at once, but it seems like it's the same as dropping food on the ground. I absolutely love the new containers but if animals can eat out of crates (which at the moment doesn't appear to be working, is that supposed to work?), then those will end up being what makes feeding easier, and we will see animal pens with crates in them instead of the lovely troughs and bowls. I also thought the food bowl would be like furniture and not group with other items, but when I put two other items on the same tile as the bowl, it groups them into a "pile of items". That's not a huge problem but does create a nuisance when decorating. Finally, I noticed that food can be dragged and dropped directly into the pet bowl, but the trough and hitching post have to be opened first. Since there are no sub containers inside them this feels like an unnecessary extra step and it would be great if we could drag items directly into those as well. So my suggestions are: Pet food containers should stop (or greatly reduce) decay on bulk food items Pet bowls should not group into piles with other items Enable drag and drop for adding food to hitching posts and troughs without having to open them first

For the past couple days I've been messing around with The Big Sleep, a tool to generate images from text prompts using AI (specifically OpenAI's CLIP and BigGAN). What this means: You input a text prompt, like "a man standing on a sidewalk" and it generates an image based on that prompt, continuously trying to "improve" the image over many iterations, often resulting in something weird, possibly incoherent, and probably surreal. So, I decided to have it generate images for a bunch of things in Wurm Online! The text prompts I used consisted mostly of in-game descriptions, modified as necessary, plus a couple requests I got from users in the Wurm Online Discord server. Many of these took at least a few attempts before I got anything reasonable, and some prompts worked much better than others. Note that the text prompt listed is the only input I had; the rest was up to the software. Images themselves have been spoilered to avoid clutter and make this easier to navigate. Here we go! First, various Wurm creatures! For these, I just used the in-game description of the creatures, with no other text added. Hell Hound (prompt: "The hell hound is said to be spies and assassins for the demons of Sol") One of my favorites. The weird mouth made out of tendrils is a bit disturbing. Lava Spider (prompts "a giant spider made of lava" and "a giant spider full of lava") Prompts don't follow the given format, as I made these before settling on my methods. Vaguely spider-like, but pretty abstract. Spawn of Uttacha (Prompt: "Uttacha is a vengeful demigod who lives in the depths of an ocean on Valrei. These huge larvae are hungry and confused abominations here. ") Obviously the AI has no idea what "Uttacha" is, but the rest was enough for it to create some... fairly disturbing and grotesque images, as you could guess. You've been warned. Avatar of Magranon (Prompt: "A ferocious beast indeed, the juggernaut can crush mountains with its horned forehead") I love this little guy. He looks like a ferret with a cool mustache who got into the weight gain powder and hasn't stopped lifting since. Maybe not what I was expecting of a Magranon avatar, but I wouldn't trade him for anything. Avatar of Libila (Prompt: "This terrifying female apparition has something disturbing over it. As if it's just one facet of Libila") Presumably because of the "female apparition" part of the prompt, this mostly turned into spooky ghost photos. But still pretty neat ghost photos! I think Libila would appreciate them. Avatar of Fo (Prompt: "Something seems to have gone wrong as Fo tried to create his manifestation. The thorns are not loving at all and it seems very aggressive.") The AI had absolutely no idea what to make of this. The description doesn't really indicate that it's a humanoid creature at all, or indeed any kind of creature, so it seems to have gone with "malicious morass of bloody thorns". Sure, why not! Avatar of Vynora (Prompt: "This female creature is almost see-through, and you wonder if she is made of water or thoughts alone") This one was tough. Since the description doesn't specify that the creature is humanoid, I got a lot of weird, sometimes disturbing results resembling translucent sea creature flesh. I almost gave up, but then it struck gold, with an image of what looks like a gigantic humanoid shape rising out of the water on the horizon, with barely-visible arms and a darkened face. Sheep (Prompt: "A mythical beast of legends, it stares back at you with blood filled eyes and froth around the mouth.") Well, thanks to the jokey creature description, this was bound to go poorly, wasn't it? We've got two rather distressing images here: An abstract bloody terror foaming at the mouth(?), and what appears to be demonic blood owl resembling the Goetic demon "Stolas". Lamb (prompt: "A small cuddly ball of fluff") Now this is better. Cuddly as advertised! Has a smushed face that kind of looks like a cross between a rodent, cat, and bunny. Would pet. Evil Santa (Prompt: "Some sort of Santa Claus is standing here, with a fat belly, yellow eyes, and a bad breath") After a few attempts, I got what appears to be an absolutely feral Santa Claus stooped in the grass, doing god-knows-what. A giant tuft of wild white hair with some kind of headband up top, and a barely-visible red cloak or coat. I hate this. I hate this so much. Next, I wanted to know what the AI's interpretation of Wurm's several moons. For these, I used the in-game description, but added the word "moon" and sometimes a color, just to give the AI something to go on. Seris (prompt: "A white moon that is a haven for the dead") The first of these is pretty bizarre and surreal, with what seems like the surface of a moon with a pillar(?) and an arm(??) on top of it, with another moon-like object in the sky. The second came out fairly straightforward, as a white moon on a somewhat ethereal space background. Jackal (Prompt: "A moon flowing with the blood of the damned", "A red moon flowing with the blood of the damned") Both a bit abstract, but I think they get the feeling pretty well. The first in particular looks rather menacing, whereas the second went all-in on the blood, it seems. Haven (Prompt: "A small teal moon rumored to be where Golden Valley lies") Two different color cues confused the AI a bit, but I think it did a good job regardless! One appears to be a fresco-like painting of a shining blue moon above a golden landscape, whereas the other looks like a deep-space telescope photo of a teal-and-golden moon that appears to have had a chunk bitten out of it. Valrei (Prompt: "A large pale blue moon that is the home of the gods" (1st), "A large pale cyan moon that is the home of the gods" (others)) Got some neat results out of this one! The first looks like a painting, complete with artist's signature in the lower-right, of a pale blue moon casting its light over a strange landscape with stranger architecture. The second and third are surprisingly coherent imagery of what a moon of that color might look like, and the last looks like a landscape with Valrei rising over some mesas in the background. Bonus requests! Man digs tar on a large slope (Prompt: "A man digging tar with a shovel on a steep slope") Requested by Madnath on Discord. This one turned out better than I thought it would! I couldn't decide which iteration of this attempt I like better, so I'm including both. Resembles a slightly-stylized silhouette of a man digging tar with a shovel, on a background that looks sort of like clay or a cave wall. Sailing through a border to be left a drift (Prompt: "A man adrift in the ocean at the edge of the world") Requested by Beronica on Discord. A reference to the occasional unfortunate server-crossing player left without his boat. First result was a straightfoward image of a man stranded as sea, although the man looks glitchy and weird. The second seems to be a much more artsy, stylized rendition of the same, with an almost ecclesiastical style to it. Easter bunnies trapped behind wooden walls who are forced to relinquish their Easter eggs by greedy peasants (Prompt: exactly what it says) Requested, with that exact text, by Bunn on Discord. I don't know how she expected this to work out, but it kind of didn't! Instead, we got the Easter Bunny fever dream you see below. Extra special bonus! Seals! These are the very first Wurm images I made with the AI, and of course, being a Newspring resident, they were all seal-related. Some of these turned out better than others! Prompt: A seal screams at God under the light of the full moon. Only barely recognizable as a seal. Surreal and spooky, but we can do better. Prompt: A group of harbor seals summoning an evil spirit in a field The AI still isn't quite sure how to construct seals, but this vaguely does appear to be a group of seals on the shoreline, doing something mystical. Someone should probably stop them. Prompt: An ancient wall scroll depicting a harbor seal destroying a city This is probably my favorite in this entire post. It clearly depicts some kind of awful monstrous sea-monster seal creature wreaking absolute terror on the populace. I appreciate the city landscape and buildings on the top and left, some ships in danger on the right, and what might be a city block at the base of the seal-thing's body. The ancient-looking writing in the middle is a nice plus.

Is it just me or does it feel like there is silence from the entire team now. The server bugs page is full of bugs being reported, I'm seeing very little to no responses there or here by team members. Are we left with the bugs, are they being worked on, what should we expect, do we waste our time continuing to make reports? It has been stated 1000 times already, but COMMUNICATION please, something, anything from the team to let the player base know what is going on. And not just in response to this, we should not have to ask, a week after the update, what we should be expecting with all the issues. Paying customers are getting silence and it is getting frustrating. Freedom chats are full of people complaining about the many new bugs, forums are full of people talking about the bugs, people are not happy with the changes to carts and wagons, was that intended, or are those bugs? All we ask is for communication, any kind of relationship needs it, we are communicating to the team, but you guys are giving us the silent treatment.

Hi, So, this update that makes the animals move to eat is really depleting my horse stock. Is there anyway to make it where they do not move to eat? I have been out hunting and I knew the horses were going to take off when I unhitched the wagon, but still was not able to lead them in time. I even freaking tried feeding them before unhitching! They ran off fast into the water!!!!! I swam after them but ofc they hit land and where gone in a flash. I don't want to call a GM to get them back because they have more important things to do, but this is really upsetting. LOL with the AH update its hard to get a good horse anyways and now I have lost all my good horses. I guess I will start from scratch and breed some wilds. Please! Please! Please! Do something about this! Thanks for you time.

I think it would be awesome for both visual context and for those that don't make it on in time for our short winters, to have snow at higher elevations during the other three seasons. This way if someone missed gathering up snow when they were able to at the lower elevations they could have the chance to make a trip to the mountains to restock their Larders. It would be a beautiful backdrop to the summers as well.

Basically the same as PMK banner designs, but to fit on a large shield. Personal/group design that overrides standard shield graphic. Purchasable for marks/silver

This is a great addition. However, I would love to see the donkey or mule be able to be hitched to a small cart to be lead. It does not need to be ridden, but leading would make it better for new players to carry logs, shards, etc.

To further explain... take left/right side stairs, spiral staircases, and the standalone staircasing. At the top (floor level above) there are no railings or banisters.. so unless you place a single door at the top you can simple walk off the edge on one side of the stairs or the other and fall. With left/right side stairs you can't even use a door, there's no way to prevent falling. Yeah I know it's trivial but I'd like it. Can we get banisters/railing as a fence type or simply have them added to the top of the affected staircases? Anyone else as picky as I?

Hey, love the tool, really ought to use it more often. I'd like to highlight this post which may direct how your granger update shapes up: That animals can have a dominant category which impacts their breeding output (quite heavily, it seems so far - a lot of old 5speeds are struggling to make draft animals despite being 3 speed 2 draft) suggests a need to notate an animal's dominant category, and have this impact breeding recommendations according to the user's desired outcome.

Just did some testing using 2 old 5 speed horses versus one with carry more and strong body, the other with just strong body. Both pairs had one old, and one venerable horse, gear was swapped between them so it was the same for both. Despite having one less draught trait between them, the horses with NO speed traits were 2kph faster than the old 5 speeds - so not only are the speed traits not doing anything hitched as was expected from the patch notes, it is actually slowing them down? Either that or there is something wrong with the way the game is calculating the pulling power of draught traits.

They did technically mention in the patch notes that hay drying tiles are seasonal: New: Added new Animal Feeding System New farm tile: Hay Drying Tile can be made using a scythe on grass. Tile productivity is affected by weather and seasons. Harvesting will produce either hay or mixed grass. Yield can be increased by using a pitchfork. on the tile

I love the new inspect animal window! It almost makes possible to choose breeding pairs without having to read the event log, but is just missing a few details that are important for breeding. The event log also has a lot more text about animals now, which makes it harder to find those specific details. It's a lot to scroll through, and I have to reexamine the animals many times because it's hard to mentally keep track of the necessary details for several different creatures at once when matchmaking. I suggest adding the following to the inspect window: Gender Parents Colour With those points added it would be possible to choose breeding pairs without having to read the event log at all

huh, totaly missed that. i mean i would love to be able to just put crate on ground and let animals eat from it and not worry about decay, but what would be point of new feeding items... I think what they wanted to say is that 2 new containers for feeding animals(pet bowl and other one that is part of hitching post forgot name) can't be locked. It's weirdly put that's true

If I can make a suggestion, just until there's a good remedy for this, either bring some shafts and small nails, roundpole fences take VERY little mats (like 4 shafts and 1 small nail) each. Creating a 2x2 pen with a gate would create a safe place for people to unhitch and lead their horses bring the horse that you want to ride, unhitched, and lead it,so you can avoid having to unhitch your animals from your cart Hopefully we'll get a quick fix though

I'm built up against a cliff so space is pretty limited, so all I've got is: A warehouse/forge/garage (Though most forging happens down in mines). A 'house' which serves as a kitchen/tailor (which doesn't actually have my bed in it after 2+ years because that's still in an apartment above the warehouse!) A boathouse for storing in-progress ship parts. As I reclaim more land from the sea I should have more space for a temple/shrine and a decorative lighthouse, if only for the sake of looking nice.

Yes. And at the same time, please change some of the Examine texts to be more gender specific [14:02:19] It has been branded by and belongs to the settlement of Finality. [14:02:19] She is very strong and has a good reserve of fat. [14:02:19] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has a strong body. It has lightning movement. It can carry more than average. It has very strong leg muscles. It has been bred in captivity*. (this is not even needed here) [14:02:19] They are not hungry. [14:02:19] You can groom them again now. [14:02:19] Its colour is black. [14:02:19] Her mother is the venerable fat Eckerlightning. Her father is the venerable fat Fleacliff. It's ok to refer to an animal as "it", but why do we need to use "they/them" when we already know the gender?

+1 Personally I wonder why we can't see statuses: add 'pregnant', in cooldown for breeding in some way, shear-able, milk-able in the same way higher skill lets you see this information for trees/bushes/farming plots... you don't go and stand next to the tile and examine to read event log of mostly useless traits, or open extra new dialogs that you need to close after. For the inspect dialog.. further QoL - Add keybind to quick close such dialog windows, also add option to keybind the inspect action, currently it is not possible to quick-bind it, no idea if key-bind is possible otherwise

I agree that Libila needs Genesis or some kind of "dark" equivalent. Being a top notch breeder should still require a priest. Tbh I think we're getting to the point where a second BL God may be justified, so that BL can get access to certain spells without Libila having everything. Making is so that BL can't just have armies of Lib priests that can do everything would help to counter-balance the change.
