    This conversation has come up twice recently in my alliance, since many of us are into archeology. We need some display for the mini-tokens we get. Nothing holds enough to be practical. Something like a bookshelf (that holds more than say 20) or a display case. Current solution: (unique tokens on shelf, duplicates on floor) has me running out of bookshelf space. (another row of bookshelves on other side of arch). Another deed member uses marble tables, which hold more, but take up more space.

    currently the mechanics of battle camps and pendulums are so wonky you can have 3 in one local and not even know it, while running straight by two of them and only picking up one suggestion is to allow all battle camps that are able to be hit by the current pendulum use to be shown to the player instead of just one of them

    We now have skins and each month we get a new skin too But that said, it's in the beginning of the latest monthly skin release a bit of an unknown as to how it looks etc. I'd like to see that it becomes part of the Valrei International announcement from Demona what the new item is going to be, picture etc. As it is right now the guessing game is on until somebody post a picture - this addon to the game is a little appetiser to keep the premium going - help that along by showing the new item in the international Also will allow the poor wiki administrators having a change to be more up-to-date on that front

    Every second weekend of the month, wurm becomes free to play for that weekend. Existing premium players get an experience boost (1.5x or 2x?), and non-premium players get to experience the premium version of the game. Such a scheme accomplishes 4 things: 1. Acts as a way to draw back older players (no need to worry about being a vulnerable de-premed character when you come back, you can come back on a free weekend and get to safety before you decide to repreme or not!). 2. Acts as a genuin "free trial" of the game, rather than the joke currently in place. 3. Provides a good metric on the impact of wurm dropping the subscription model, or expanding the free game in general. 4. Provides a genuine "freemium" path for those who are from countries where the euro dwarfs the local currancy.

    I would like to see a resticted passage version of the low rope fence, which at the moment is just decorative, so I don't fall off the 3rd floor .

    I would first and foremost like to thank @jackjonesfor giving us all the Xanadu Community Map which we've used for the last 4-5 years. His map system is also one of the founding blocks of the newer maps developed by @Yagaand @Substr. Thank you Jack, we miss you. Jack has been preoccupied with RL issues the last year or two, and as such has not had time to help maintain the map and upload the new map dumps. So, I have been working with @Yagaover the past few days to provide a new Xanadu Community Map. @Yagaand @Substr have developed a system which they implemented for the Deliverance server initially and which we have now updated for Xanadu. New Xanadu Community Map Features 1. Map coordinates The map offers a common type of map grid (as an optional overlay), using the same denotation as the in-game map (for example "E 24"). However, to place and find locations in a much more detailed way the new map is based on "tile coordinates" (x, y), making it possible to narrow down locations to a single tile on the server! This allows us to place deeds and landmarks much more precisely than before. (Map coordinates are explained in the next post.) 2. Zoom The map provides various zoom levels, allowing you to zoom in from a view of the entire server to close-ups of single deeds. 3. Layers Deeds, Tunnels, Canals, Bridges etc. are actually map layers which can be toggled on and off. You can also choose among two map types (Terrain, Topographical). Note that the Isometric map is not available on this map due to the extreme distortion of tile location caused by mountains and other terrain, thereby preventing an accurate placement of deeds, tunnels, bridges, etc. 4. Finding settlements The map offers an easy-to-use search function for deeds. 5. Selecting locations and copy coordinates You are able to select any point on the map and save the coordinates for future use. Colours and Symbols Map Information This new map has been reproduced based on the previous map data and as such some elements may not be 100% accurate since we are using a completely different system. To this point, if you notice anything missing or in the wrong place in terms of settlements (deeds), highways, tunnels, canals and landmarks, please post in the thread below using the Adding Data guidelines provided. In particular, Tunnels and canals are handled a bit differently on this new map. There are Tunnels - which are foot traffic only, there are Canals - which are boat traffic only, and there are Tunnel+Canals - which allow passage of both boat and foot traffic. Please post in the thread below any discrepancies you see so we can get these accurate. Also, those tunnels that are knarr-depth only will need to be named as such, as that data-driven designation is not supported in the new map. Adding Data Please post in this thread to report new or changed data. (Do not send PMs, either on the forum or in-game! Do not use Discord to add data either!) Please use tile coordinates (x, y) to report new map data. (Hover your mouse pointer over the location you wish to report, click once to see the coordinates in the "Selected" field, copy the coordinates.) Deeds: Please report the settlement name and the coordinates of the settlement token. Example: "Serendipity Bay [1650, 1384]" Highways: Please report the coordinates of all points describing the highway (start, "corners", end). Please use this format: "[[5229,2327],[5543,2328],[5547,2332],[5577,2332],[5588,2321],[5614,2321],[5623,2312],[5684,2313],[5692,2321],[5790,2321]]" which is the actual coordinates of the highway that stretches across G20. Tunnels, Canals, Bridges: Use the start and end coordinates. These elements can also be given a name. Please only add fully completed Tunnels, Canals and Bridges. Fully completed tunnels are those with both walls reinforced along the entire length, all veins in the roadway/canal gone and with the floors mined down to their final depth. Other: You can also report guard towers, mission structures, and special named landmarks (like names of lakes and mountains, as long as those names are agreed upon among the local community.) Note that Xanadu is an Opt-In map, meaning that you must ask to have your deed posted on the map. We encourage you to do so as the more deeds that are shown on the map the easier it is for people to find their location when they're out exploring and lost , or when they're trying to come pick up that cool whatchamacallit that you offered for sale or check out your totally awesome deed. However, only a Mayor or an authorized villager can request that a deed be added. THANKS!     I have had multiple reactions while catching up on this topic, but here are a few of the things that came to mind: We are encouraged to have alts by how the marks shop is coded and what "pays the most" in forms of marks. Clearly more alts is better than buying silver. Just because someone else thinks it is recreational to go to the park or the mall not all of us like it. It is not reliable to think you can get people to chime in and work like idiots on your projects for months and months. In fact, villagers tend to wander of and get own deeds so they can fullfill their visions. While we love community driven events, those are more gatherings for fun than to build someones castle or something. Even if people gladly want to help on mending a tunnel or dredgeing a canal, we tend to end up doing it fairly alone most of the time. This game is not meant to be easy mode, making everything real fast would devaluate our toons and we'd be more inclined to abandon them and the game. We have tried WU and the faster phase and the single player modes and see we came back, cause the easy mode or the alone mode is not what we want. Not even us that prefer to play by ourselves most of the time. I have found some awesome friends I can idle with for hours without speaking but I know they are there if I want to speak.

    Unfortunatly wurm is in that weird state where yeah priest restrictions are dumb, but still priest alts make significant income due to low player base... I do like idea, but it might wurm in financial way, or atleast i suspect it will, i might be wrong. I would honestly pay a little more on sub just not to have to play alt to be priest also, but with 3 different type of priests system even that isn't posible(My dream is about spell system where you grind for every spell or type of spells that interests you so the only restriction is time you're willing to grind in true wurm style but thats not gonna happen). Maybe allow it to be free for just non priests, it will hurt guys who honestly play priests as main, but they are minority nevertheless...

    Someone in the Village that I am in was quite excited that they had made a Yoyo but then the excitement crashed cause it does not show you the tricks you are doing. Please add some animations that go along with the text that is happening. To show off the tricks. Also you could make it so that you can perform the tricks while on the move. That would be cool.

    If it is completely client side (either client only or among those who activate such an option), I would still detest but not really oppose it. It is a spoiled brat attitude longing for the protection but not wanting the consequences, and I always hated it in tripe A games. Thus a conditional -1.

    I have sent my three priests to sermons, first was my then only priest alt, a Nahjo priest. He visited two sermon circles, one in south Xanadu, and when that dissolved, another one in west Pristine. A year later, when the player gods were abandoned, I had my Vynora and Fo priest alts, they attended a cycle in west Xanadu. These sermon sessions, lasting for weeks, were very pleasant examples of inter player cooperation, starting by the hosts of the sermons, helpers from the neighbourhood bringing food, and the attending priests themselves. Up to ten different accounts cooperated there, helping one another, for several weeks. I simply do not understand the hatred against alts. Nobody is forced to use them. But I cannot imagine how the functions alts fulfill at the moment, can ever be replaced by single accounts.

    Although I appreciate the effort you made that massive incredible wall of text just popped the TLDR and I skimmed it. Alts and I have 2 are used for these primary reasons. My mag priest as I rebuild my canal and help a friend. With over 400 tiles collapsed and mined back out to new specifications . My secondary right hand man. IF i need ribbons made or nails or digging or mining or other then main activities I am doing he is the go to guy. Tonight it was great having two characters make support beams and cut the time down ALOT. Some history when Xanadu came out I ended up running two alliances. Big ones with 20+ people and deeds. Trying to get people together to finish a road or project or canal or anything was a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS. Yes i used a bad word. People play a game to relax and grind and build things they like not kowtow to every need driven player that has overwhelming needs. More often then not they are doing little to learn how to fish per say they just keep asking for more free fish. A years premium for all three accounts with some silver thrown in is about $300 bucks. Also 4 additional accounts for sermons so $32 more there. My friend also has 6 accounts so we got together for sermon groups so I could get 100 Faith and she could get priest-ed and growing. It works great if you ask me. Wurm gets more money to stay around. If people want to do community stuff they can some do some don't Also the flexibility of have a priest on hand to summon you back from a Rift or Summon people to it is fantastic. He just stands there and waits for you No other commitments. At this point its much ado about something that will never change as long as it supports wurm financially and people enjoy using alts. There is a very long list of other more pressing problems from what I can see.

    I'd have to agree that the initial thought of "alts are bad!" is not really the main issue that OP tries to tell us. I think the real desire is to create more cooperative gameplay. Alts are not the root of evil here. Alts are workarounds, solutions, personal preference enhancers, "boosters" if you will, to problems and issues and (not necessarily flawed) mechanics that players have encountered. And I'd emphasize here personal preference. Not everything solved or boosted by alts is broken, or badly designed. As much as you try to improve the no-alt gameplay, as long as action=result then more=better and as long as there's any kind of classing or branching in character/skill system, people will create alts. It's being acknowledged and seeked There are many suggestion threads in this forum, which aim to decrease the need for alts. Multiple deeds per character. Bridge planning with planted pole. Dozens of discussions how to make priests more viable as main/solo characters. Every now and then some ideas are implemented, things do change, and let's hope devs keep improving the "less alts needed" side of the game. But in the end, alts won't disappear anywhere and I don't think they need to. It's not always the problem with other people, sometimes it's problem with me. Or is it a problem? If I have have the tools to complete a task on my own, within my own time, without depending on other people, then I choose to do so (not only in games). If creating an alt removes an obstacle, I will do that. If grinding a new skill helps me, I will do that. And after it's all done, I will go and brag to my neighbours "look, I did a thing, admire me!" If I can imp my shield to my desired QL, then I will do that; even with a skilled armor smith next door (and one of my best friends in game). He doesn't feel left out, he's damn proud of me! This is my multiplayer preference, not a problem. I prefer to complete my tasks on my own, but I also like to have some people around to occasionaly chat about a Florida man hitting an alligator with a fork or whatever. I think, current multplayer in Wurm works extremely well. It works just as much as any and each player wants it to work for themselves. If you don't see enough cooperation in this game, then perhaps other people around you (that you have met so far) are looking for something different. The problem is not in the alts; it's in the number of people.

    I see no inherent nobility in being an individual who prefers to do things with others, which you are exalting here by giving them preferential treatment in return for their social co-operation, as already they are benefiting from this by the ability to accomplish more and the satisfaction that they get by this social interaction. "People needing people" is not actually enjoyable at all for those people who prefer to be more self sufficient. Perhaps these people who prefer to accomplish things on their own without any dependence upon others are actually more together within themselves than these social ones who have some "need" to interact with others to find similar satisfaction. So here with this post you make *alts* the target when in reality you seem to want to punish the individual who prefers to do things alone by either removing alt assistance or giving some sort of preferential benefits to social groups and activities. This just seems unfair and controlling to me in that you seem to believe that socially active people are the preferred playstyle as a reflection of your and societies way of life. People are different and should be who they are, be they loving to do things with others or preferring to mainly do things on their own; thus, the game of Wurm Online provides all with their own choice of gameplay depending upon ultimately their own personality. Fortunately this game offers more freedom of choice than RL where societies dictates either subtly encourage pursuing common goals and interaction with others or blatantly enforce it with their confining rules and punishments. The "loner" types are then looked down upon or with suspicion by those social types who simply can not comprehend why anyone doesn't think as they do about the delights of interpersonal interactions. I don't think that the game was specifically planned out to give each individual the choice as to how they prefer to play it but this is the way that it has turned out and my preference is that it remain that way with acceptance of these diverse styles of playing it and ultimately allowing people to be who they are without the judgement and needs of others interfering with it. If alts are abused in some certain instances then those should be dealt with and alts remain as useful for other "less sociable" purposes. Mainly I see no problem with them and feel at ease about letting others play the game as they wish as far as social interactions are concerned. =Ayes=

    I don't like quests, but be cool to fish up a bottle with a treasure map. Maybe it makes you go to another server and find the treasure and not the server you are on.

    I just want to get rid of the fillet limit. Marlin and white sharks max out at 50 fillets at 15ql, so anything above that is wasted. Let's get rid of the fillet limit!
