    I thought it would be fun to try to write a book in wurm. Just a cute little short story or something. I keep running into the issue of disallowed characters, though, and that's making things difficult. Even more difficult, it doesn't tell me which characters are disallowed. Is there a list of characters I can't use? It would sure make my attempts a lot easier if I knew all of the rules...

    Hello friends of wurm I like to give you two simple mods for the decorative aspect in wurm 1. i release my old but working mod for new decorative armchairs 2. i release a alpha version for craftable "pile of items", beginning with the pile of corn I am an absolutely noob in Java, because this, i created years ago my first mod with javascript. It works the same like the other mods you know, just copy the mod and the properties file in your mods folder and enjoy the new decorative chairs in your game. My mods are in Javascript, so anyone should be able to edit the files, but dont forget...JS mods are very simple, they have not the functionality of a real java mod. Feel free to edit the mods or use it for your experience. 14 NEW ARMCHAIRS To all the awesome modders (with javascript experiences) Have one a idea how to make the chairs so that players can sit on it? At the moment, the chars are just decorative. A lot of piles look awesome, so wha not like us to create it as new items, and place it whereever we want? That why i drop in this testversion of "Craftable Pile of Items" Its a poor Alpha version but it works, its using pile of crops, yeah....you can craft now this pile like a unique item and place it on your tables or or or The next days, i like to include all other good looking piles into the mod, but you should have the option to test it, or extend it however you like Please feel free to download my first version at: https://github.com/Necropolis-Orakel/Craftable-Piles/releases/tag/Alpha At the moment its a german version of the pile mod.     When: Monday, March 22 2021 @ 12:30p CET (/servertime) Duration: 1 to 3 hours of downtime expected, depending on the success of the migration. What will be offline? All servers and the shop will be offline during this migration. The time has come to migrate the login server, Golden Valley, from our old ISP to our new provider. This should resolve the stability issues we have seen as of late as well as improve some of the lag we've seen. All servers as well as the shop will be offline for this migration. Updates will be posted on the forums and relayed in the Discord server. MIGRATION COMPLETE! It's worth noting that if you've changed your "hosts file" to fix a previous DNS issue, you will have to remove that change. The IP address for Golden Valley has changed.

    As an archer I have broken many a bow string and there is no acknowledgement of this fact other than an easy to miss statement in one of the tabs and a sudden inability to use my bow. This was extremely confusing when I first started archery and mostly just annoying now. It would be nice if there was a sound like a twang or snap to indicate the string has snapped and the bow must be restrung to continue.

    Some things i noticed while playing around with specials in a dragon fight - Specials don't recognize that you have more than 20 stamina, with my big boi stamina specials all take under 3% stamina to use, but i can't use specials if i have under 25% stamina for t1/t2 and 50% stamina for t3. this effects other things too, like taming or falling while climbing but they're not as impactful as completely being unable to use specials when i should be able to use them a dozen times with stamina to spare - Basically any special attacks don't work on uniques. Bleeds don't even show as a wound, all special damage moves don't break the 0.4 damage or so threshold for the wound to actually hit (which majorly limits weapon/enchant choice against uniques as well), cr ones don't work as they're well above 100 cr afaik and being capped to it, so they're still capped to 100 after the - cr ( a % reduction in cr would give it clearer scaling, as - cr quickly drops off with uniques, fighting champions and pvp), and the stun ones only last for like half a second due to all uniques having absurd characteristics, only really leaving the stamina reduction/throw up moves, but mobs don't use stamina either (they probably should), and making a unique throw up reduces their fat layers, which increases their dodge chance, which you don't want? If special moves are supposed to get you thinking about what you're doing in combat, surely they should be useful for the endgame of combat lol - Uniques don't change from aiming centre if you don't defend in a direction - after every time a unique was bashed, it would use every single one of its attacks at once the second it got unstunned, often swinging 4-7 times at once. Fine if you've got the scale of lib i guess, but had no problem merking other tanky people - Basically all combat spells don't work on uniques anymore, not sure when this was changed but you used to be able to cast smite, karma slow, weakness etc on them, now no spells work whatsoever. Smite is the only one that lets you cast, but at the end of the cast it just says "takes no damage And general observations about combat - special attack messages go to event, not combat - The opening yourself to attack message pops up in the middle of your screen, which is "alright i guess" for combat, but annoying when riding around and mobs swing at you as you ride past because reasons. the whole enemies getting a chance for a free swing each time you pass a tile border is a weird mechanic anyway, not sure why that's a thing. - the defend direction glows to what it thinks you should swap to, even if the mob is targeting someone else in that direction and not currently fighting you. - Critical hits (at least from truestrike) weren't doing bonus damage - Mobs don't seem to have a timer for swapping stances that i can tell, they'd often instantly swap to something non-centre after a stun, which should reset them to centre same as players, then they have a timer to swap. Again, swapping back to centre after being stunned is a weird mechanic that makes no sense.

    Puppeteering needs a stage or a booths that the puppeteer can stand behind. Need puppet animations and audio and sounds coming from the puppeteer. The bigger the audience the more skill gain you get. This will have puppeteers lining up like sermons. Some type of happy buff from attending a show. More puppets and scripts. Any other ideas?

    A few ideas for archery. I'm still just a beginner archer so please forgive me if some of these thing are already part of the game. First: Adjust the UI so that archery parallels melee combat. - If I have to equip the bow don't make me also activate it. - Ranged button in the combat window turns on auto shooting. - Ranged button reveals aimed shots (once skill allows) like melee, selectable with num pad. - Focus effects archery Second: Bows mounts and movement. IRL short bows are short because they are easier to use while moving around. - Mounted archery skill, used whenever shooting while moving. (On foot or mount) - Short bows: Can be used on mount while running or on foot while running. - Medium bows: Can be used on mount, not moving or on foot while running. - Long bows: Can be used on foot, not moving. Third: Some other ideas. - Additional arrow recipe that uses feathers. Increase accuracy and/or damage dealt while taking more damage. - Stealth SLIGHTLY increases damage. - Allow bows to fit into quivers. - Rare+ arrows never or nearly never break. - Add leather to bow recipes for handles. - A quiver that contains arrows will appear to contain arrows. - ALL mods either run or charge when shot at. - Foraging highlights arrows in the area - String break message on screen - Better representation at Rifts

    The ability to select one of the sorcery titles. It would be nice to choose one of the titles rather than just the default one from whatever combination my account currently has. The titles serve no other purpose other than vanity at least as far as I can see.

    So, it seems that only runes that arent material dependant works on pelts. If this is a bug or feature i dont know - either way, i think it should be changed. Suggestion: make pelts count as stone, leather and pottery items - and make it so runes that arent material dependant and stone material runes work.

Add option to auto upload logs to Niarja if this isn't already a thing Add chat right-click search option on player name to quickly search players on Niarja System tray notifications when AFK / inactive for a duration, or if the window isn't active and the player has engaged in combat. Add sprites for various lookalike items like potions Add Wurm official twitter news feed into a sidebar in the login client so there's a frequently updated feed of new information about what's going on in the game, like uniques being slain, hota events, rifts opening, etc... I don't speak for this community, its members probably hate the idea, beautiful savages. I don't mean to belittle the game in anyway, I just really want more tools for content creators because they're the ones who expose the game to the rest of the world.

I think its time for my most favorite game developers to take an axe to this format and give us some thing new. Even putting in the money today with the gold field being 5 times large then the Silver, Copper or Iron fields And the second page wall of text. Its like reading YULA for fun..who does that lol.     Ok, so I decided to go ahead and do some testing in case anyone else would like to know the answer to this question without having to work for it. All alphabetical letters are allowed. All numbers are allowed. Allowed symbols/punctuation: . , / : ; ‘ + - _ ( ) # ! Disallowed symbols/punctuation: “ < > [ ] { } \ | = * & ^ % $@` ~? I also found that, when copy/pasted as a single character, … is also not allowed. Also, spaces seem to count as characters. And there seem to be some combinations that don't work and I'm not entirely sure why... For example: ‘I want you, Oskar, to res-’ is not an allowed inscription, but I want you, Oskar, to res-’ without the first apostrophe is fine. I also tried 'Testing some stuff without copying-' and that worked just fine? I dunno. It's fiddly. I don't fully understand yet...

    Would be nice if we could push items from the buildings to the bridges. Currently we can only push items from the ground to the bridge. We cannot plan a building when we have unfinished bridge. Those things could be separated. There are no permissions for bridges, you cannot pass ownership, so only original builder can change a name of the bridge. Would be nice if it worked like house permissions. Additionally to that, ability to destroy bridges like houses, by builders (off-deed) or mayors (on-deed). There is a noticeable height difference between bridge start/end and the house, those two are not on the same level (feeling of "bump" while entering a bridge).

    Endgame. Kind of an oxymoron a game never has an end even if it has an end (puzzle on that a bit). If I like a game and play it over and over even though I get faster and beat the boss better the ENDGAME is the fun I have playing it. How about we use a different term like your FUN GAME. How much fun are you having? What is your enjoyment level like? Does your dopamine kick take over your body and make you go play cause its that dam good. ( Nobody laugh we all have the games that make our pleasure center go through the roof) I am a 12 year player of Wurm. Just to give you some back ground. I started before a lonnnnnngggg list of what Wurm has now. Just a small list Large carts Horse Bsb Fsb Current cooking Bridges Current ship models Runes Summoning Wagons Crates large or small. And a whole hoard of differing things that even if not ontime. OR even pefect when they came out are an accepted part and enjoyed by many people. I play with 7 characters ( 3 mains) and 4 alts for leveling Faith for me and my friends. I have a deed which I am redoing from scratch and according to my calculations will take me 5000 hours of play time to get anywhere near where I want to be. For me this is fun , to help people with projects and to have my own. TO stop and go kill stuff. Stop and go hang out at Rifts. Summon over a buddy and make booze and laugh at failed attempts. Stop thinking of Wurm as a AAA game it is not. Wurm is a game where you develop good friends for many years and everybody comes and goes and tries many different things. The funny thing is like me..they always end up back in Wurm. IF you want to talk I am Puncher or Spud or Slyguy on Sfi. If you log in and need help I can summon you.. Teach you. Feed you. Help you. The joy of Wurm is that if you spend the time grinding things out you really do get better things. Which makes you want to grind something else or buy it from somebody else that already did. YOU HAVE TO INVEST in it.. Not just take it for a Joy ride and get mad at it when it makes your work for it. Like FPS Russia says HAVE NICE DAY (fact he has a different channel now)

    Interesting opportunity to reflect on all of the changes over the years,@Brash_Endeavors! Thanks for making it multi-choice because there have been many excellent improvements over the years. From the list, I chose: Cooking overhaul: a tweak that created several small quality-of-life improvements without being absolutely necessary - and created a market for affinity pizzas almost overnight. Crafting interface: being able to sort by the next imping step needed was a huge improvement back in the day, but just being able to look up what components are needed in game is so convenient. Multistory buildings: clearly a favorite and has unlocked so much player creativity without ever unleashing the greatly feared Plague of Tall 1x1 Towers Everywhere that we were so sure would happen. Graphics overhaul: looking back at the old troll graphics, we've come a long way - and now living in an era with volumetric lighting leaves me amazed on a regular basis. Crackdowns on exploits: it's one of the reasons I stick with WO instead of moving to WU - I'll never know more than the barest hint of the invisible battle behind the scenes, but I'm thankful for all those tireless efforts. RMT changes: WO was always a remarkable experiment with RMT - a thing no other MMO would touch with a 10' pole. I'm still glad that era is behind us. Other: Bridges - which several folks have pointed out and I won't belabor, except to say I remember the the heated arguments about dirt bridges. Being able to use bridges as ramps has been a huge boost to Impalongs in particular and building design in general. Permissions system - I briefly lived in an era where copper was needed to make copies of keys and every time I set a permission on a pasture gate I'm so very thankful that era is behind us. I'll add to the 'Other' list: Improved storage solutions - just being able to have more than one BSB per tile seemed like a godsend at the time and the improvements since then have been marvelous: removing BSB loss, adding large and small crates, crate racks, BSB racks, saddle racks, amphoras, the works! I'm so glad to be able to keep stocks of stone, dirt, and wood in a fairly compact building instead of dozens of BSBs scattered across the entire deed. Highway system - even after living on the same server for years, I would routinely get lost when journeying too far from home. The 'find route' feature has been fantastic for quickly finding a way back to your deed, an impalong, and even public slayings. Plus, spiders finally got eyes in the process! Thanks to the hard work of developers, game masters, community moderators, and an engaged player base, WO has certainly come a long way over the years. It's good to reflect on how far we've come.

    No thanks. Not a prude but don't want to stare at naked chars rocking their junk at impalongs. In pvp it might be a laugh, but otherwise not immersive at all. Would rather have different models for ragged clothes you can pick from though.

    While butchering a spider today I thought perhaps putting the eyes in a goblin skull would be a nice feature as well. Especially if they would follow you when you walk passed them Or ... if they look like cateyes, make them a bit brighter and you could use them as a lamp or lantern. Could look somewhat like this

    Item from loyalty store that, when used on an animal, "brands" them on every single server to your name, instead of deeds, so that their permissions work like carts/boats do, much more convenient than having to brand to however many servers there are deeds just to have a horse you can take anywhere and not worry about losing it or whatever

    this would be where the waves come in maybe 3 waves of spawn after first the next spawn in in 10 minutes maybe even an hour or , possibly half day to balance out preventing too many from appearing or people going to all of these they would have to focus on a couple or an area of them. but, this would be a great time to recover and get ready for the next fight. after the 2nd wave is the boss wave depending on the details size of fallen deed/ tower time lapsed since spawning, determines strength and type of final boss.... Okay, say its a simple 10x 10 deed falls and is immediately attacked finally boss will be a champ troll with a chest key drop to single chest with a few items maybe a bsb or crate of 1 rss 300 items average quality or 1 crate 3 items 100 each item average quality. then a 25x25 deed immediately is a champ elder troll and 2 lava fiend guards with 1 large chest key on troll and 1 small chest key on 1 of the fiends maybe a crate of mats or other goods etc higher ql with maybe a rare item not end game value though. then a 50x50 deed with 2 champ venerable trolls 2 aged hell hounds, 1 aged Lava Fiend 2 keys 2 lg chests few items (higher chance of a rare item not drastically higher though) and 2 crates various rss avg quality. 75 Now time span "its been 1 month since a deed fell in this area and the bandits have moved in to claim the land as their own" now it's moved up to the 25x25 strength listed above. now time span "Its been 3 months since a deed fell in this area and the bandits have moved in to claim the land as their own" now it's moved up to the 50x50 strength listed above Now time span "Its been 6 months... Now time span "Its been 1 year.... at 1 year a Unique is spawned turning the area into a nest or Lair for that creature who claimed the loot gathered by the bandits after slaughtering them and seeks power over the realm. just an idea? after 1 year its been sitting there probably something up high in the mountains and becomes a quest type "Vynora calls upon her most faithful to slay the evil plaguing the land and preying upon the weak, Will you answer her call fair warrior?" From then on the unique gains more health so it takes longer to kill making the fight longer and allowing people more of a chance to learn how to last in long-lasting battles such as multiple foes in pvp? giving them more experience and helping them also learn how to coordinate with other allies in the battle 5 in 5 out healing switch. So many more things you can do with this. It just takes the time to think it out and plan how to work the schematics.

    I see what you're getting at, lot of questions to be answered. Addressing the first one on your list, the whole game is set up on random and wandering spawn so and what your mentioning is no different from the garbage piles/ troll mounds that already spawn but they have to be destroyed before deeds can be thrown down and LOTS OF room on all the many servers we have. Second, Lots of room on the servers , and the troll , crocodile mounds , and 'pile' spawners are still in place would still far outnumber what I'm thinking about. Third, anyone who clears the area, yes I see where you could be going with this, maybe someone lures off the mobs while another whos waiting, hidden runs in and grabs the stash, could happen but , still more gameplay with it than without. I would like it to be after the mobs are cleared out, and they already have two mechanisms in place at Rifts and Slayings with submenus that look at %hits and number of hits and presences could base it off that, especially Rift scenarios. Fourth, I haven't seen anyone wall off a Rift, however I have seen organized slayings that has been done at, but more-so to not let the unique leave the area or run away. I have seen walls at deed drops though(people protecting their share of the pie ( that could be addressed too if it gets answered with this. Also "tackle with a couple of their friends" is a great idea here, not necessarily meant to be soloed, could be an area effect like the Rifts, the more people the tougher and more mobs could be spawned, Now you gave me the idea of Micro-Rifts coming into to play leading up to the main Rift event. Scouter camps that tell of the "Great Rift" to come. (could denote where an eventual Rift may occur kinda like the Missions aspect of the game if not using that theme to deliver. "Rogue Rift/ Bandit/ Troll/ Enemy Camps have been spotted around F-H, 15-17. Just getting to energy here going...some system like that. Players will be players regardless of what you do to the game, programmers and GM's are always having to address PVP server bans and issues already anyway and players that abuse macros. Now, good questions, my add was to toss new ideas out there, and enhance a venue of gameplay, not to say "Wurm is boring as it is, make me something new."(I love this game and where they have been taking it). But I am a person who dumps money in this game too, and it seems to me, I can post ideas freely here , with respect.

    Man this is yet another great add on to the idea!!!! and wonderful explanation for the use of these to lower level or newbie players and great reason for new people to join the game meaning more client base for the game! Make it one of the Hooks for new players to really get into it so they want to stick around and get to the point they can join the rifts and unique events!

    Maybe you're a someone coming back after a long hiatus away, but good lord please no. There's about as many people sick of half baked ideas and concepts, and then the half baked updates that come from it. Just be patient and see if they actually provide a good update with the next big one. If they do? Thank god, we don't have another system or update that isn't going to need heavy tweaking for ages, just for it to get dropped quickly because ???. And if it's a crap update, go nuts.
