    Members of the Nor' Eastern Waters Alliance discovered a rogue Forest Giant wandering a local maple grove! After some wrangling, the beast was tricked into a stony prison where he remains interred until Friday, March 19th at 6PM EST. Credit goes to Kinnick for finding it and LittleNoodle and Sinnjinn for penning it! All dropped and butchered items will go to the alliance for distribution, but of course all the fun and blood is available for everyone in attendance! This party is going down right after the Black Dragon Hatchling slaying on Friday night, so after it is killed, everyone attending that slaying is invited to this one! Also see: Location: Since this fight is planned in conjunction with the previous fight happening an hour beforehand, listed above, Ill explain the route from one fight to another. The deed the giant is located on is called "Don't Dead Open Inside", and is right beside "The Baguette and the Frog". On the Cadence community map, its located right north of the deed "Googley Woogley", though in real time that deed is long disbanded so dont look for it in game. The route on the map is believed to be paved and highway, but is drawn as a general direct path so it may not be. Cant wait to see you there!

    Props and thanks to Alytharah and Borstaskor for finding it and deciding to share it with everyone! :)We were tasked with the organization, it is already secured and penned.It's free for everyone to attend, as we insisted on, at least the butchering products will be be given to Alytharah, since she found it!The location will be disclosed about 10 hours before the slaying takes place.It's on Cadence, kinda inland, not in local but not too far from a point that you will be able to reach with a knarr!Since it happened before, and i think it's not a bad practice, be sure to redirect any donations or hide that you don't need to keep back to Alytharah, and NOT to me or Davihh. Please, once we will open the gates DO NOT enter with carts and wagons. Thank you Location: the deed is called Beginning, M20/21, it is east of Tranoas Red: where the deed Beginning is located. Blue: where you can park with a knarr coming from south (Corbitas and caravellas will not pass through the canals). Green: where you can park if coming with a big boat. See you later guys

    Let us rotate fences the same as we can house walls. Some fences, such as the crude fence, are meant to have the posts facing inward on a pen or yard. Sometimes we'd like a gate to swing out or rather in but cannot dictate that.

    A great topic which brings to mind so many of the "best" changes/additions made to the game over the years. Overall I have always viewed the game as progressing in a positive manner. A few not listed: Level Mine Floors/Ceilings at 90+ Skill: Finally! no more unavoidable dips and bumps in mine floors and ceilings when a new wall is mined out. A great reward for reaching this skill *level*. Reinforced and Paving Mine Floors: Another great addition to add more pleasing designs to mine floors and protect them from newbie digging damage as when completed they can't be removed without the proper tool. Concrete: Although a very tedious and excessive mat creation process, the end result is that at last moderate mine floor bumps could be leveled out. Care For Horses: Our favorite horses lives could be protected against death almost forever. Of course always the "hitch" is that they could be killed in combat while ridden if the mobs switched to them as target. It happened quite frequently when this change was made years ago but thankfully it was toned way down over the years and now rarely happens. Looking back over the years all these new improvements have made the game more enjoyable for everyone and I would expect more of the same in the years to come. Happy Trails =Ayes=

    There's quite a lot of useless filler skills in the game like body/mind/soul, and the majority of parent skills like tailoring axes swords shields smithing armor smithing misc items. I could go on for a while, there is a lot of worthless skills that just feel shitty to get an affinity in, you'll see people excited to get a body affinity or whatever in chat and then people tell them its useless and they feel disappointed. I'd suggest one of two things 1. Make Parent skills with no/near no use give a bonus to all subskills, either 5% or 10/subskills, so like a body would give 3.33% to str/stam/control, whereas a knives would give 5% to carving/butchering, but a carpentry affinity wouldn't effect its subskills because carpentry is a full fledged skill 2. Make Parent skills give bonus to subskills regardless of whether or not its a useful skill, this would be easier to code and save the hassle of figuring out which skills are "useful" or not, but it'd make some skills like carpentry where the parent is a useful skill double dip on bonus skillgain.

This question popup will also display the current whitelisted players. Players cannot connect to your server until they are whitelisted. If they are removed from the whitelist they will no longer be able to connect. If a player is removed from the whitelist while online they will be kicked from the server.     I’m sure the new combat overhaul made everybody think about what they would actually want to have. Before getting any fancy stuff, I suggest fixing the basics by: - Simplifying: Remove unnecessary or needlessly complicated features - Clarifying: Display more numbers of what things do Some of the mechanics that seem to unnecessarily complicate the game: Auto block, combat rounds, weight affecting parrying, alcohol for fighting and many more that most people don’t know about. Another mechanic that sounds neat but has issues in practice is positioning in melee pvp (as in standing behind someone). It doesn’t work in practice as server delay, ping and desync make everyone have a very different view of the battle. For example, when chasing someone both players will think they are ahead. One of Wurms greatest strengths is to be able to play with people all over the world. Combat stats should be displayed in the character screen. The single most important thing in Wurm is to watch progress as your character skills up. Having vague displays isn’t immersive as it just makes players having to seek out this data outside the game. Often, they will even find wrong numbers considering how complicated systems and spread-out information is. You want to see the damage difference easily when improving your weapon 5 quality. Attack speed, dodge chance, block chance, damage per hit and so on. How much damage your body strength gives you. Same goes for display by looking at weapons, shields, tell us exactly what they do and with a number. There’s no reason to display a line of text when the number would give actual more info such as this: Currently there is a lot of information missing from combat and clearing up some of these mechanics should result in - More meaningful player decisions - More noticeable character progression - Much more accessible for players Some more conceptual pictures:

    also sorry @gnomegates🐶 why are there no good emotes for this I spent forever looking, doggo just doggo I'm really bad at explaining things sometimes especially with wording. meant it more of a realisation that it wasn't trolling in what I've seen in other MMOs were people would raise prices drastically over and over again w/o remaining but win smaller auctions to go "oh hey look I can't be trolling, I won". but a misunderstanding on my part on how you bid. But it came across as an allegation so I'm sorry for that, I'm just bad at typing.

    Chaos was never the default for PvP. Epic was a great addition, but I feel like it's more of a classic now than an addition.

    you are right...it isn’t no skill gain, but at that rate, 100k actions will give you 1.7skill whereas you could easily be at 99.9 skill if you do some adjustments to the setup. It does matter what your goal is. If skill is not important, then go for speed. I’ve done many projects where I’ve optimized for speed, but I would never then be looking at how much skill I would get from it since I knew it would be negligible. I do grind skills as well but will always do so with an additional purpose, for example, to get digging I would use a low ql shovel with high coc and dig clay and then use that clay to make mortar for the house I’m building. Skill goes up rather quickly this way so than when I needed to dig that 100k action hole in the ground for the labyrinth, my skill was there to support the speed.
