Orga is a fun little 2K map that encourages sailing and bridgebuilding. The mountains are high, and ores are plentiful, including moonmetals. Like all my maps, it has little patches of clay, peat, and tar pretty much everywhere. This is the first map I've ever shared, so please let me know if there are any issues with the download. I'd love to hear from anyone who tries it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kp6cglx86zv5art/Orga 2048 MM.zip?dl=0

Yes, that was definitely wasted, but probably not how you think. Unless you are joking. I really hope you are joking. Those bones can transfer their rarity level to a finished item in inventory. You could have rared one item and supremed another. Rare bones sell for silvers in the teens and I think a supreme sells for about 50s. Please tell me you are joking.

Seeing 1 horse in the ocean can be shrugged off as one of those minor bugs you can encounter in any game. Seeing 500 horses on an entire coastline is pretty much immersion breaking. Places like the north side of Desertion are a typical example of how awful it looks. As for rifts, well if you really want to bring a horse, load a horse cage on a knarr and you're set. Or several cages for backups. I'd like animal pathing and spawning to be fixed in general. No more trolls or crocodiles on 800+slopes, no more pigs on top of mountains with nothing to eat, I'd like the environment to actually make sense. In all decent fantasy books, rpgs and games the ecology makes sense. Wurm, not so much. Wurm Online is pretty much the only game I've ever seen where a newbie can enter the game, exit the starter town and get owned by high level mobs such as trolls or scorpions, while sheep lazily graze near said mobs, rarely being attacked.

Domesticating certain animals like Wild Cats. Cooking skill for making treats for your pet. Be able to groom them like we can now, but also pet them and other things to keep them loyal instead of taming them 20 more times to increase loyalty. Ability to create pet feeders (bowls) and toys (part of toy making with these new game boards) to retain loyalty. Have the creatures after being at a certain loyalty get a skill level (with special moves) so we can go out fighting and skill up our new animal partner making it stronger. Need to be able to track it's skill level and how strong it's becoming. Make traits when breeding more valuable for combat. Tame more than 1 creature at a time based on skill level (can tame a second creature after 50 taming skill). I know you can have bears and hell hounds lead your large cart and only seen it done couple of times years ago. Make it easier to control creatures that are tame like always following you unless they are attacking something without having to be lead again. Rework Animal Husbandry at the same time of doing taming since they are related. Would guess taming and AH would work together for certain additions. I've probably posted this same suggestion 4+ years ago.

So we have wool. We have beds. But beds need furs. Let's have a choice for what we put on a bed. Wool blankets or furs. It's about time for wool blankets to be introduced into the game so sheep are more useful.

The priests among you who strive for great things and strive for the title divine and the advantages that go with it (benediction), know that some entries are more difficult to access than others. I'm referring specifically to "cast a global spell" (or link you with a prister of the this ") Unfortunately, I keep hearing that some priests who can afford the luxury of having various alts as "favor batteries" cast the global spell alone. that sucks for those priests who cannot afford it, because a LOT of time and effort passes between the individual rituals to recharge the "strength" of the respective deity through prayers and preaching. So it is more or less a collective effort of the community that the ritual can take place. This achievement is then destroyed by individuals by stealing the "cast". ((That'S what I heard at least)) So I suggest that when the time of a ritual should come, that a group of priests as large as possible meet who still need the journal entry and then do the magic together. that should take place at a time when as many as possible "can" be there I would like to hear your opinion on this

I think it makes sense to have the option to turn off the auto attack. It could even be presented as an option to turn off auto targeting. Sometimes you just don't want to fight back. I nearly killed my horse one time because I failed at taming and took a swing before I could get away.

Thank u Zarwaddim. I am a member of Western Union alliance. We got members down the south that we wish to help link to HB. We appreciate the hard work you guys put to build the highway from templerhof to shiloh (I saw the highway! great job!). I did receive a message ingame from Bobthedigger (thank you so much!) and was told that Almus owners moved to Cadence. He only knew one player named Targum but not sure if he is still active. We will try to get in touch with him the soonest and hope to get response. If we cant reach him, a possible solution is greatly appreciated to link the south area to HB. If u have suggestion or need help My ign same: Blueskies. My alt Glissa (if u cant reach me). you can message Xerxzie or Krucia if im not around.

I'm going to bump this topic and hope we can all work together to get the highways around P16/P17 and surrounding map tiles linked toward HB. I am the deed owner of Spirit's Rest and Spirit's Haven (which is south of Spirit's Rest). I had some unsolicited help (forgot the player's name, began with an "R", Rahn or some such?) linking Spirit's Haven to Spirit's Rest. Caduryn helped to build the road Spirit's Haven and the road and links to Spirit's Rest from Templerhof Canal (which leads north to Templerhof proper); Taraniss owns Caledonia, which is between Spirit's Rest and Spirit's Haven, and he helped with some road work as well. Some notes: The road by Sprit's Haven leads all the way south to places like Shiloh (S17). Currently, at the foot of the hill leading up to Spirit's Rest from Spirit's Haven there is a road heading East to Ballarat (not currently a highway). I spoke with Krucia last night who is building that road. He is linking up to another road that leads toward another deed which heads toward Moenia (P19) - although the road to Moenia is not built. Closer up the hill to Spirit's Rest is a junction that leads to Templerhof Canal. The road that goes into Spirit's Rest is a highway that then turns east. My plan is to wrap this around my main area in the deed to keep going north. At this point I will be on the NE side of that mountain (Almus is roughly NW). Essentially, the plan is to wrap the mountain in highways for access from all around without the need of literally circumventing the mountain if you don't want to (the road from Templerhof Canal, near Balarat and coming from Spirit's Haven would eventually allow you to basically go through my deed to get to the other side). This NE road heading toward Almus and the former Yeet Station (now a new deed owned by Toxa; sorry, Toxa, I forgot the name) is not yet complete, and is something I'd like to get done in the coming weeks to help link up all around. Currently, I am planning to shift the road from Templerhof Canal to Spirit's Rest a few tiles over with planned bridges. This is what I am currently working on. So, if you are building around this are and want help, or need something else, please don't hesitate to ask. Same name in-game. My alt Sinoc is the mayor of Spirit's Haven. Balthazor is just a bum, and also my other alt. I'll update this later with some pictures, because I butchered my explanations with edits.

become a priest, was it fo that was carebear at 60/+ or w/e favor.. most aggressive creatures wont attack you, if you lead untamed hellhorse - you'll get messed up, it's because you suck at taming, you're lazy to tame or lack the ability to charm/dominate depending on what you deal with and why... --edit ps. it makes sense as you gain more fighting skill.. say.. 99.. to gain a passive where 'flies' wont suicide into you.. but than.. it will be annoying for most players to do the extra walking from 1 to another STATIC creature, it will we weird to move into every mob.. rather than let it come to you.. the idea brings more annoyance than it solves; even if it's f2p noob haven

I first heard of Wurm Online years and years ago through MMORPG.com when looking for a mmorpg that worked natively on Linux. Needless to say, I'm glad I did, and I'm happy it is being promoted there. That said, I'm very disappointed that with new players they keep adding MORE SPACE. It's like they WANT the game to feel as dead and lifeless as possible. Seriously what's with that? I get that there's a lot of hermits but I very much believe we could all live comfortably just on Xanadu alone and the game would feel waaaaaay more alive.

prior to the changes in the most optimal environment (1 faith, praying on rock/water) it took roughly 450 hours of actual praying w/o pok11 to hit 70 from 1. anyone saying it took less at 100 faith is out of their mind because faith was the main problem as it was counterintuitive and nerfed the 1 difficulty action even more because you wouldn't ever really hit above 1; whereas your average difficulty above 60 prayer started to slowly get better at 1 faith because average prayer difficulty at 1 faith was prayer skill minus 60 the only thing i can understand here is they meant "70 hours of effective skill gain praying time" which means 1/3rd of time spent = effective time because you only get skill for 1/3rd of the timer. even then its nearly half off of the actual number of hours it actually took

Please don't take this as a complaint I just thought I'd share some data if people are interested in a reasonable expectation of time to reach 70 prayer. I started at 23 skill on both my vyn and fo priests on Thursday and did a reasonable amount of prayer over the weekend, almost all with sleep bonus and mostly with affinity food, around 80% nutrition, no affinities, no pok, both 100 faith. This chart shows the tick size vs skill, the vyn is clearly 10% higher and you can see where I didn't see my affinity food ran out the vyn matches the fo. The tail end of the chart shows the impact on tick size of the recent change a fall of about 38%. In terms of tick rate it dropped over time from about 70% tickrate at 20-40 skill down to about 65% at 60 skill, I believe faith affects the tick rate not the size of ticks. I then took my data for my fo priest from Thursday to Monday and fitted an exponential trendline to it in order to get an approximation for the skillgain. This will reduce in accuracy below further outside this range and looks like its not a great fit early on but that doesn't bother me too much as the skill goes fast early. Using this approximation and assuming the tick size reduction was 38% I'm able to estimate the number of ticks required to reach 70 skill. Before the reduction using this trendline formula I would estimate it to take 5117 skill ticks to reach 70 skill, which at an average of 25 seconds and a conservative 60% tickrate would be 59 hours of sleep bonused + affinity food prayer. After the reduction in size, assuming it is a linear reduction, I estimate it will take 8253 ticks to reach 70 skill, equivalent to 95 hours of praying as above. A more reasonable tickrate estimate at 100 faith might be 65% which would give 54 hours and 88 hours respectively.

I got to 100 faith by almost only doing prayer and my prayer ended up being at 54, and that took me hundreds and hundreds of hours, years actually because of how boring it is, and how useless the skill is, it was never worth investing time until they added it to the benediction goal, in my opinion that was completely unbalanced skill gain. 100 faith and only 54 prayer. After the first rework of the prayer skill I spent around 11 hours just grinding it using sleep bonus and affinity meals to take my skill from 66 to 70, I do not find that an unreasonable amount of skill gained for the time, sleep bonus, affinity meals invested to do so. Any other skill I invested that kind of time and resources to grind would have gained a lot more then 4.00 skill in my opinion. The Prayer skill is a useless skill and to make it harder to accomplish does not make any sense at all. It is a useless skill and we are not gaining anything other then the benediction goal by grinding it to 70. No one is gaining any unfair advantage by leaving it the way it is now. Side note: You keep dumbing down the game for new players by giving them so many advantages none of us long time players had when we started playing and we did just fine and stayed because we loved the game not because it was easy to do and probably because it was hard to do, it was a great accomplishment to achieve all that we did. Adding flashing heat maps and giving them everything they need to play the game is going too far. I think this new player hand holding is getting out of hand and needs to be re-examined . People have more respect for and appreciate the things they had to work hard to get or achieve a lot more then the things just handed to them because they showed up. Just my rant 💜 Sun

I do side with this more. I'm not against a heat map, but how effective will it be for a new player when their mobility is as sluggish and limited as it is as a new starter? It's all well and good dropping a heat map saying there's some free land 8 grid tiles away from starter deed that has good access to everywhere else on the server. But how do they get there? Do you trust them to actually work the highway system if it's even going to take you near there? Do they know community map exists? And how liable are they to just get bored doing this travel so they can drop money to get set up? If a heat map is done, please do it with some changes in mind for new starter navigation beyond just food/aggro range and such.

A Steam review is how my son found the game. He read them and thought he would give it a try. Little did he know I had played the game previously. Together we decided to play and had a great time. Sadly, however, he stopped playing because it "was boring". For me though I am still playing, and having a blast.

Converting code between some programming languages is possible indeed if they are based on the same platform (for example, C# and VB.NET both working on .NET platform or Java and Scala both working on Java platform), but between development platforms and frameworks is in most or all cases impossible - this includes switch from current Java-based engine to Unity or Unreal Engine. Such conversion can be compared to trying to make a plane using only parts from disassembled car - both are vehicles and take people from A to B, but work in too different way to make it possible. In addition, learning new development platform/framework takes much more time for experienced developer than learning a new language. I need to add one thing - I'm not sure if many posters in this thread know this, but MMO's can (and often are) using different technologies and/or programming languages for client and server. In case of Wurm through switching technologies of either a client or server is task for years of work. In most cases where client is using engine like Unity or Unreal Engine, server uses C++ or Java as engines bring too much overhead for a large server and their scopes are very different.
  46. 1 point
Some past discussions on the topic (the topic comes up now and then): You'd be better off simply creating a new game that includes the Wurm-like elements you like. I am not even sure UE4 is capable of handling 1000-2500 people online at a time? Which Wurm has done at times. Especially the way Wurm players love to hoard objects, each item of which has very complex and unique diffences in quality, materials etc. Most games simply find that complexity impossible to handle. You make a hammer in most games, and it is the exact same hammer that everyone else has. If you announced they might have to reduce their hoarding and simplify the complexity to allow people to JUMP and stuff, a large number would simply leave.

I've gotten tons of useless rares. Like one day I was digging up some dirt and got a rare roll, thinking I got yet another rare dirt it turned out I got a supreme.... bone. Yeah, some long dead creature's frigging bone. I couldn't even cook with it! I added it to the rare one I already had and my goblin skull and made a skull and crossbones decoration, until I got bored of that and sac't it for nutrition and a tiny bit of skill gain. ugh talk about useless.
