We are looking into the depot spawning code, does battle camps seem to have the same issue? We will be looking to tweak the battle camps based on the feedback here, let me know how you feel about the following. After capture battle camps will display location information like before in the village info section where they are listed. Pendulum range restored to former distance. Increase the time between battle camp hota by 1 more day to make it not feel like an every day thing and give people more of a break between them.

Drain Health: it needs to get toned down. The range is too long for how stupid short the timer is. It almost make having a shortbow or a bow in general pointless to use as HoTS/Libila Priest. Phantasm: I've seen it casted 15 tiles away. Similar Issue as it can potentially take a horse out of a fight with little to no risk from the caster. Fix: Decrease the Max Range to like 3 tiles for Drain Health. If said target walks away from the radius, you stop casting. Fix: Decrease the Max Range to like 5 tiles for Phantasm. If said target walks away from the radius, you stop casting. Scorn of Libila & Light of Fo: need to be severely toned down or reworked. If you can get a full heal on an entire group with that spell because wounds are stacking, there's obviously something wrong there. 1. Scorn heals 30 up to 60 damage PER WOUND. PLUS AoE damage. This spell scales as well. 2. Light of Fo heals up to 5 to 30 damage PER WOUND. NO AoE damage. Does not scale. So a healing spell that heals for more AND does more damage? How is that balanced? It worked well with Shield of the Gone on other servers, but it doesn't work on Defiance. Reason being, all the damage reductions helped separate wounds. I've literally seen people go from bleeding to full health from both Scorn and LoF on Defiance. Of course the response to it is gunna be "Well just tangleweave it" at this point it's not even about that. It's just about the crazy amount it heals for such a large group of people in the event it does go off.... and tangleweave's cooldown can't lock a priest down. As well as getting in range of a priest most of the time as well. A good possible fix would be to remove the damage that Scorn does, and totally tone down the possible max heal to 15 DMG for 2 wounds (30 damage maximum) and up to 3 people MAX at random in a 15x15 within the cast radius of said spell which is roughly a 3x3. Essentially LoF with another name (aka the same exact spell) If you wanna sit there and get a full heal use the "Heal" spell or just use LT/ED weapons to survive not a spell that basically casts "Heal" to 100%. That's just my 2 cents on priests atm. So idk if the dev's wanna take this into consideration or not, but I would. No Scorn of Libila or LoF should practically full heal someone period. Another thing to Consider. To prevent Scorn and LoF spam. Within that 30x30 area of that tile that either spell is casted a 5-10 minute cooldown is set for said spell that is Light of Fo or Scorn of Libila. All in all, these spells should be critical to cast, not a numbers game on who has the most Fo/Libila priests to spam LoF/Scorn.

Please for the love of god add some sort of water content in other sources such as a watermelon and strawberries or all berries. Sometimes we are found in the middle of no where with no water source near by, we should be able to forage and get some veggies or berries that we can gain water at a slow rate by eating them, or crushing them for the water in them somehow.

Hi Everybody. Four years ago, I was real new, and was whining in chat about never seeing a Dragon. I said if I ever did see one (in PVE, of course - Kingdoms would make this complicated) I would tell everyone, and we would all just kill it. Oh, how people laughed at me. They told me of how greed makes people go sideways and if I made any announcement like that someone would come take it, and all the servers would be in an uproar trying to get there, and I had no idea what I was talking about, and what I suggested was laughable. Over the next four years, I came to understand that it isn't so simple. I learned that if you are going to do a public slaying, you gotta give people time to prepare. I learned those who host them are incredibly generous people who spend hours and hours setting these things up, and it is a Huge undertaking. But I never learned that people are greedy and awful. Wurm is full of really amazing people. We all come to the servers and help build an imaginary world together that is made of generosity, teamwork, really hard work, cooperation, laughter, adventures. People have spent years of long hours creating massive Impalongs that were endless days of joy, friendship, competition, and generosity. This last couple weeks, there was a beautiful Impalong that was so completely amazing, it felt like real life. Vooch and his staff were generous and kind to an extent that staggered and amazed me. And yesterday happened. Yesterday, I found a Dragon. First I contacted my alliance member and spewed a stream of all-caps uncontrolled excitement and explosions of glee that were mostly incoherent, but he dropped his anvil and came to help immediately. Then I phoned a friend in the alliance who dropped everything in real life to come help me. Then I contacted two other friends in the game who respectfully explained they were too busy. They kept quiet and didn't tell a soul. When it became apparent a couple hours into this that I was in over my head by a hundred feet or more, I pmmed Stanlee who sat in pm with me for hours helping with how-tos. He agreed to host the event, but we needed to pen it, and I found it in a friggin bowl of dirt on Inde, and after the 4th attempt to mine something suitable for a holding mine, we were 6 hours into the project with nothing but messes to show for it. We needed more workers. So I pmmed people I didn't know that well, but had interacted with enough to like them, and they dropped everything and headed over. Meanwhile, another friend had finally awakened in another time zone and she logged on and sailed over to help after reading my likely incoherent joy-bomb of a forum pm to her. These people put in anywhere from 4 to 12 hours of solid problem-solving and various levels of impressive skills. No one talked. No one tried to take the dragon or get greedy. We finally opened a mine and tried to get the thing into it in order to run a public event, but it wouldn't pull that far. When I say 'opened a mine', I mean we needed five tiles strongwalled, reinforcements, and dirt wagonneered to put all over for the surface. This was not a group of inexperienced players At All. This was in a huge area that appeared like it would be real easy to find a place to pen it, and after digging 200 slope down, still couldn't find rock, and when we did, it was reinforced, or snaking caverns. We went to pull it. We pulled for an hour. By this time, me and a few others had been awake 5 hours into the wee hours of the night past our bedtimes, and had been there for up to 10 hours. I said That's it. I'm doing it. I am going on Freedom Chat and telling everyone to come kill this little monster now. And they came. And when I told them to wait down by the water until everyone was there, they waited. And when I told them to put their tents down and wait by a guard tower and listen to my rules and my plan, they waited. And when we fought it for quite some time, because we were not a huge group, and it died, no one grabbed the corpse except the person I told to grab it. Nobody was greedy. I'm not naive. I know there are bad people out there in the world. But most people are good, and Wurm has a ton of really really good people. We all interact with each other in a little chat box in the bottom of our screens, and in that sacred space, friendships are forged, grand plans are hatched and carried out, ideas are debated, and generosity abounds. I really wish I could have given Independence a big public slaying with time to prepare and a beautiful Stanlee set-up with bells and whistles, or a wonderful Demonanightshade set-up likely with amazing lighting and decor, or that any of us last night could have done that with this dragon, but it wasn't to be. And when I just went on Freedom chat and babbled about a dragon in a sleep-deprived absolutely run-out-of-ideas stupor, y'all were there, and you were all wonderful. You make Wurm awesome, and I Do love everybody. Thank you all.

Is there a wiki page for listing different item skins? If not, can we please make one? We've kind of got this with the Jackal points and rewards segment on /jackal Alternatively, could we perhaps list skins for items on their existing pages? Skins are a fun part of the game and I feel they should be better catalogued for users to find how to best customize their characters.

Doublepost to now address LoF So, Light of Fo actually functions almost exactly the same as scorn, except for 2 things: 1. Light of Fo only heals 5 wounds total, and all 5 of those CAN be on the same player 2. Light of Fo starts at a pool of roughly 25% of someone's life at 0 cast, but gains up to 150% hp healing at 100 cast power, bringing the total to around 175% total healing per person at 100 power To expand on 2, the 33% limit of total pool still applies per wound. This means a 0 cast spell can heal each wound for up to 8.3% each- and can heal 5 wounds (but obviously the value of the overall heal cant break the total pool). At 100 cast, this becomes a max of 58.3% per wound, and up to 5 wounds (that again, cant break overall 175%) I can't test LoF, so I can't run numbers and testing, but it does seem that scorn is highly biased towards being good at low channeling, while LoF becomes significantly better at high channeling (which makes sense given that it has a lower difficult) better at all cast powers as far as total heal, but relies on enemies nearby to fully utilize that- though the way it scales is actually pretty silly. Nerf scorn, but unironically.
  13. 2 points
I tested scorn extensively before the healing resistance change and publicized my results. Scorn has a base pool PER PLAYER HEALED of around 90% of your health, and increases by 1% per spell power. Scorn will heal 3 wounds base, for a maximum of 33% of the base pool; this means a 0 power cast will heal 3 wounds for 30 health, and a 100 power cast will heal 3 wounds for 60 points each. The amount of wounds healed goes up +1 per enemy hit. Healing resistance reduces the total pool by resist value per player. So if you get hit by a 0 power scorn at 90% healing reduction, you'll heal 3 wounds for 3 damage each. 6 damage each at 100 power. You spot the problem yet? This means that at 50% reduction, a 0 power scorn still heals 3 wounds for 15 damage each, or a total of 45 health possible. Scorn can only heal 3 total wounds, +3 per enemy hit, across all players being healed. <- this part is extremely buggy and often scorn doesn't heal that many wounds; it might also just be me misunderstanding the code entirely. Scorn prioritizes the largest wounds on each player, and selects allies to heal from the NW edge of its radius, then scrolls across east, then south one tile and scrolls across east again. (i think; it def prioritizes NW first tho, not sure about scrolling) When i was testing scorn, i basically had a friend hit me with a sickle 3 times and then had a scorn popped on me; each wound was ~15-20 dmg. First cast healed all 3 wounds, put me at aorund 8 minutes of heal reduction. Second cast healed all 3 wounds, put me at around 15 minutes of heal reduction. 3rd cast finally didn't heal all wounds, but it did heal each wound for about 9-12 points each, still pulling me from around 40% hp to around 75%. This put me to around 19m and 30 seconds of resistance. I was hit by the last scorn at around 19 minutes and it still healed each wound for roughly 4-6 points, or around ~15% of my total health.
  14. 2 points
20 minutes of resistance is 100% resistance, you will not heal anything, it will straight up multiply the healing pool by 0. if you are healing with 20 minutes that is a bug.

For all intents and purposes the steam release is basically wurm online but chopped into "patches" or "minor expansions" to give new players the feeling of stuff constantly being added. Aka goals, rifts, missions and so on. After that is ended, what will the player retention look like? This is my main concern. After all the "patches" are in, where does that leave retention? Yes the steam release did zero to impact old servers which honestly is kinda what many of us predicted. The reasons are many. New players don't want to enter an oversaturated market. Poor marketing for old servers. Remember the thread where MOST new players think the old cluster is "overpopulated" and "there's no room to settle or deed". ? Another reason why the steam release did nothing or even negatively impacted the old servers is this : Player count on steam increased and instead of maybe encouraging new players to at least take a look at the old servers the devs created new servers for the steam release. Basically spreading the population over the new servers. The old diehards as you call them, of which I also count myself, are basically unwilling to start from scratch after pouring years and many euros in developing their characters and deeds. Another important thing i'd like to point out, with the risk of seeming like a repeating broken disc...this phenomenon has happened before. It happened on Epic years ago. Here you have a dying cluster of players. So what do you do? You offer them a 1 way transfer to freedom. What happens afterwards? Epic dies out. Due to lack of significant pvp content added and lack of pvp balancing, pvp died. So everyone wanted to stop feeling they're playing in ghost town mode/single player mode and left for freedom. This happened what? 3 years ago? Was any significant content added to epic since then? nope. Did any revival happen longterm? Nope. Did any significant number of players joined Epic since then after the steam release? nope. So now we got another aged, sickly cluster, called Freedom. Diehards again, just like the diehards on Epic. Dev focus is of course on the steam release because financially those are their bread and butter. But for old freedom this means just stagnated content. Few new players. You "think" the cluster is ok just because you occasionally see some names in local or in gchat but it doesn't really mean it's healthy. All it takes is for 10 players on old freedom to leave on a monthly basis and you'll have 100 people left spread over 7 servers. At that point I'll still ask myself, will we get another transfer from freedom to the new server cluster? If so, isn't this repeating history of what happened on Epic?

Off-topic: Personally I never use food (only relay on Refresh), so have no idea how fats work, but I was told that each percent of fat means the SB resists 1% longer, so at 50% fat one hour of SB will actually resist 1.5 hours and at 100% fat, one hour of SB will actually resist two hours. Am I wrong? If so how do they work?

The idea was that those of us who are more casual don't have time to burn out 5H of SB (up to 10H with CCFP) plus the SB from normal sleep in just a few days. So by spreading them at least one week apart and planning them before weekend (when people have more time to burn SB down) more people would potentially benefit from them. Even a really dedicated player, semihardcore, playing four hours a day would only be able to play 1H of extra SB per day, so would need about a week to burn down those five hours. ( (1H from sleep + 1H extra) * 2 from CCFP = 4 hours) If you do them only days apart, and especially during a week day when most of us don't play (much) it means that, mostly, only the hardcore players would benefit for the SB because rest of us would be at somehow full capacity and then we'll have to wait months for next one because they'll refill harder now.

I actually think this is a pretty cool idea to split religion into paths or focuses. It would be neat to remain Libila but at like maybe 50 faith you pick between two paths of higher damage output with spells or stronger passive (enchanting/healing) spells.

Lol, Platyna. I already wrote that the location, together with advices how to get there from all SFI servers (and pointing signs in the area) will be published in the course of this week as it is the usual standard for public slayings. The organizer Lake Vrock Alliance already gives an impression where to go, and as said, Vrock Landing (or Vrock Landing Inn run by LVA ) are valid points to get there. Looking forward to see you Saturday.

Healing 60% health will put you at 20 minutes of healing resistance which is 100% resistant ( you won't heal anything until timer goes down), so that's already a thing. LOF/Scorn heal is basically one good heal and then you get nothing at this point due to how insanely fast healing resistance stacks up Does scorn not add to spell resistance like other spells do? if thats a thing for it the second cast should be doing like 10% of the damage of the first cast

Well yea. There are books to read, friends to call, educational sites to visit, hobbies to pursue, families to get in touch with... the list is endless Look, I am being facetious, I know. No disrespect intended, I promise. You may have a good suggestion there and I am sure the developers would like to hear good suggestions. But if you come out with guns blazing like that, I doubt they will be happy to read it. I know I wouldn't. Perhaps a good place to start would be to find out WHY there was a restart at that particular time. There may be a good reason for it that we are not aware of...

I think you misinterpret. There is no discussion on this matter and there shouldn't be. It's my choice. The title was chosen and agreed on by devs before this thread was created, in-fact I made sure I had approval before making the post, not to mention encouragement from alliance and friends. Way more than those who've said they don't like it. Thank you for your input which I will whole heartedly ignore and thank your for your acknowledgement of my achievement. As I said, there's no discussion to be had. Go make another thread for opinions on other 100 titles if you feel so strongly about it. My 100 skill thread is not the place for it. I'm done here.

The issue with RMT Player A who grinds making items and sells for RWM gets this money from other players. Player B,C,D,E,F buy there coin from CC on the Store this money goes in to development money cause CC recives the money. Player G,H,I,J,K buy there coin from other players for RWMT Player L,M,N,O who are selling silver gets money CC gets 0 funds. These sellers sell coin cheaper than CC so they sell more often than CC. Once money enters game it no longer funds CC for development. When you use coin in game to pay for your monthly sub or deed upkeep it does not fund CC for development. The only coin that funds CC development is coin bought from online store or subs bought from the online store. Nothing else funds WO development. WO doesn't have DLC so no money there. There is no item cash shop so no money there. Only income is from sub's and coin sales. This is the main reason RMT for players needs to go. It hurts the development. This is another over due change that has been needed. Additional changes that need to be done for CC to help funding is rethinking one of the changes they done with WU. WU is the best way to earn development money for WO by making furniture sets and stuff that I was doing on Foreverlands. This was one of the main reasons I never gave my stuff to mods. I wanted CC to see that WU was it's own entity which the stuff I did would work for WU as DLC a fund they could do on the side to fund WO so nothing had to make since or match a theme of WO. As far As I know I'm the only one who ever made new models and put them in WU. Other people could only change textures. I added 2 new oval rugs, short dresser, picture frames, curtains, bed, table, barrel, and a new counter and top shelf, animal trophy head plaques, and was getting ready to add full stuffed animal trophys with the taxidermy skill I added in. No one else as far as I've seen is able to so this is a fund CC could keep doing to WU to make additional funds for WO. On one hand I hear changes are so CC can make money on other we love development money is not important. All I can say is I'll never go hunting with you guys cause you shoot your self in the foot to much and I like my feet just the way they are. I might have stepped away from WU an never shared my stuff but someone with my abilities will come in time and share there abilities with WU. Steam is a DLC candy Land just ask all the developers who do DLC.
