Heal resistance; LT nerf; removing disease cure from Heal; CR nerf for pets; balancing of priests in general being aimed towards PvP balance rather than PvE balance. I could go on.

Indeed, it is a known issue! There's a lot of speculation of the cause and the impact but I can say it's not a deliberate change, and is likely to do with the system being in place at a server launch (as it wasn't in place with the launch of Xanadu as far as I recall). We will address it asap so rare coins can be found! For the record, amount in the coffers bears no impact on chances of getting something, it's a flat roll.

I'm sure something similar to this has been mentioned, but I'm not talking about the roof models like previous threads sort of went into. Figured now with the revival after the steam release would be a good time to bring it up. Thatched roofs are beautiful, the current texture for these roofs in-game is not. They don't have to be extravagant or anything like that, just look a little less boring. I'm certain many people feel the same way. Like this: Or maybe even multiple types of thatched roofs unlocked by the skill. Edit: Did a quick texture myself and replaced the in-game one in DeedPlanner. I think this serves as a better example. Thanks.

Wurm is currently being butchered on the MMO site Massively Online. In a 3-week installment a reviewer who seems to have no interest in learning sandbox games, is entertaining his audience with how impossible he finds it. In a peculiar journalistic odyssey he has spent two weeks getting as far in the gameplay as the average player does in the first half of the tutorial. It appears the reviewer is refusing to reach out to any person in the game for help or advise. Anyway, I don't have an account there, but maybe someone will post there and at least let it be known that Wurm also has a fantastic ingame help channel capable of steering any new player through his first days. 1. Allow Libila priests to remove corruption by blessing a horse again. Corruption can be nice, but since it gets transferred through genetics it can end up bad on horses- when outside of Hots land, you can’t allow a horse to graze and must handfeed it several thousands of kg’s of pumpkins to fuel its rage. Though keeping breeding stock corrupted is convenient. 2. Allow anyone to see if a horse is corrupted. It’s silly that corruption requires so much AH to see, and many people might not realize their horse is corrupted. This is mostly QoL, since obviously problems can be avoided if you plan appropriately, but its odd you need a whitelighter to remove corruption.

Sounds like a good idea, and while you're at it let people place tents on deeds so I can make my damn forest campsite.
  8. 2 points
Corruption should be nothing but beneficial to followers of Libila, if anything the trait should make it so horses can graze normally as well as on mycelium, not one or the other.

You start leading an adolescent BULL. Most people don't care about PvP and are sick and tired of terrible ideas that make PvE a pain in the bull's rear end, just to try (but never succeed) in balancing PvP.

Like WTF why does pvp get all the good sh@t and pve gets what? Like they get hotas and Kingdom wagons and so on. Be nice if we can make hotas and kingdom wagons somehow on pve without having to buy them off pvp players for 30s each or more. Or go to pvp and get killed and all of own items taken just because we like pvp items and this is the only way we can get them. Like wtf give the pve something pls. Everyone says they take the risk, that's why they get the good kingdom items. Hey look I've got an idea, what about the game and making it better for new ppl that come in to this game? Why not think about that for 2sec and making the game better so the game gets more players and offers more items and options for ppl who don't want to play pvp? 90 Cloth Tailoring Make othere type'[s of wagons? 90 Masonry / Archaeology Hotas ?

When examining a weapon with a demise spell you can get the normal line [15:34:09] It is enchanted with Monster Demise and will be more effective against monsters. However it does not show in the tooltip with the other enchantments.

Are you aware that 1 tile is a square of 4×4 m? My grandfather was a horse breeder, and Poland has one of most restrictive standards of animal welfare. For a horse optimal, good practice pens are: 9-12 m² and for a mare with a foal 12-16 m², that translates to 3 and 4 tiles. A lot of people postulated changes to AH, it wouldn't be bad if more animal welfare practices were implemented - the game could be educative for young players, or even older ones, for example decrease of bad traits probability while longeing the horses etc. But fixed ratio to 15 is painful, especially for ranchers in busy areas. I think it could at least decrease with increase of mayor's AH level.

I’d love to see where exactly a white lighter can live that grows mycelium in such a way that it inhibits their horses grazing That said, i would not care if horses of all kinds could graze on mycelium too. It’s unneeded micromanagement.

How is this different from farming/harvesting a tree someone planted off-deed? There are multiple systems to stop people from doing this. In this particular scenario none were used and the post is asking for the animals to be returned. 15 tiles per animal is astronomical? You did the math, if someone kept a horse without access to a water through and a lot of food in area that size, in most countries the horse would be taken away and the owner would face jail time or massive fines. Hitching post is equipped with those - wasn't used. Deed prevents that - wasn't used Branding largely prevents that - wasn't used. How do i know if a horse i found in the wild comes from a demolished off-deed pen or an upkeep-disbanded deed or someone simply releasing it when they moved to another server or from a maliciously bashed pen? How do we know if whoever bashed the fence (if it was bashed, since it only takes a few days for low quality fence to decay in perimeter) took the animals? What if the fence was actually bashed but no animals were taken by the person. If i find one of them on top of the mountain, do i have to get banned because i took it? What if someone did bash the fence and took the horses, does the whole GM team have to drop everything now and investigate the whole incident? We have the tools to prevent this from happening. They weren't used and OP admitted it. I sincerely hope they find their way back to WhiteBunBun but please stop trying to change the game rules to fit your personal idea of how the game should work, while we have multiple systems for this exact scenario in place already.

Uhm. I'm not sure if you even bothered to read the post, this is completely unrelated to the topic. We're saying that PvP needs more incentives to keep people there instead of making it objectively more efficient to play on freedom and cross over to PvP. We're not asking for PvP and PvE economies to be linked (god no), we're not asking for easy money on PvP. We're asking to give people incentives to play there. Right now, if I wanted to minmax the hell out of things (which quite a few PvPers like to do), I'd play on PvE as a vyn follower with Path of Knowledge, grind all my skills up there, and only cross over to PvP for meditation/prayer/lockpicking timers. Yes, exactly this! The crossing between servers removed almost all reasons for people to be on PvP servers with any persistence. This exact thing is what killed the Epic population.
  23. 1 point
TLDR: If you couldn't cross back and forth, your pvp character would actually have to "live" there, which would mean you have to be there to skill, which would in turn mean more pvpers on the pvp server at any given time. More people and therefore more pvp on a pvp server would, in and of itself, be an incentive for anyone who wants pvp I would think. Well, I don't play pvp in Wurm and likely never will because many things about Wurm pvp are.....well, just unappealing to me. (and so maybe my opinion on this is irrelevant). Nuff said on that. But there is one thing I've always thought was a big contributor to the pvp servers always ending up empty eventually. That's this whole thing about crossing back and forth. Seems to me it's a downward spiraling, cause & effect, self defeating system. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice idea that you can play both with the same character and play with your pve friends and vice verse, but it never seems to work out the way it's envisioned. I just have to wonder if that isn't a big contributor. In most games I've played that have separate pvp servers, you have to have a pvp character that only plays on that server. You have a pvp character that is always a pvp character and "lives" in that community, with all that entails. In a game like Wurm, where the pvp is dependent on things like community building things together, fortifying, raiding, full loot, etc, etc, etc, being able to go play "elsewhere" for your character building and crafting and resource gathering, etc., just seems to go against everything that's supposed to be happening there. I just fail to see how pvp can happen regularly when a large portion of the population is busy skilling on the pve servers. And no matter what you do, adding "incentives" won't work in my opinion because people are still going to do their skilling, resource gathering, armor/weapon making, enchanting, etc, where it's "safe." ie: on the pve servers. So nobody's home, so no pvp happening, so go skill some more on pve, so nobody's home. The ol' proverbial "vicious circle." (yes I know that it's different with the new steam servers but seems people are still ending up on pve for whatever reasons) I don't know if I'm making any sense here, lol. It's early and I need more coffee. It's just something I've always thought about Wurm pvp. I think the two should be separate. Have a pvp character if you want one, and a separate pve character if you want one. This way, if you want to play pvp, you will have to actually spend your time there to build your character, your pvp character would have to "live" there, which as a consequence will mean population will be higher and I would think that pvp would happen more. Seems like a no brainer to me but since I don't pvp in Wurm I'm sure there's probably something I'm missing here.

That is true, but carries some worrisome consequences. Such indeed happens. But it is not true that PvE is a "much more cancerous community". I had a one year lasting neighborhood dispute with a toxic player who did a lot to harm me and drive me out, and it was not easy. In the end, help from friends, and some relatively calm stubbornness from my side prevailed, and that player, who had also abused others e.g. by stealing a cared for horse from another player (not me) in a similar way as described in this thread, left. I had discussions in private with team members about the issues but we agreed that the chicaneries were below the level warranting a griefing complaint. What is unconstructive, is the repeated encouragement of such behaviour by the "deed it or lose it" preachers. As repeatedly said, that has not to be read as a call to be a ######. What helps, is carrying on with everyday's work, heeding friendships and good neighbourhood relations. The antisocial players are unable to overcome that. Their negative conduct will harm them in the end, and patience will prevail. "Sitting on the shore of the river you will watch the corpse of your enemy float away", a mideast proverb says. About PvP, in case of having the upper hand, it is of course easier to deal with such abusers. But it only works *if* you have the upper hand, and does in no way prevent overreactions, and feuds eventually driving out innocent bystanders. In every neighborhood conflict, there are always two sides, and staying righteous requires a lot of self restraint and patience. The solutions as in PvP encourage acting in a haste, overreacting, and acting injustly and cruelly oneself. Consequences may be gankfests and people driven out. The stronger is not always the better one. Yes, I agree. Good point.

Use your money to buy a new appaloosa from someone else and dont let things like these bother you. It happens, the person who took it did nothing he can be punished for, and it will only lead you to needless disappointment.

Yes please! Indoor, outdoor, or underground, pottery planters for large decorative "banzai" type miniature trees would be a fantastic addition. Should only be for decoration/gardening skill. Maybe require occasional pruning to keep from over growing their container and dying out. I agree things like oaks and olive trees should not yield fruit, nor miniature maple trees sap, but small potted fruit trees should be allowed to yield fruit to some extent. It is pretty common to find small potted fruit trees trimmed and trained to stay small that are bearing fruit.

Modern renderer has a lot of issues with not properly rendering things at all. Dyes, glows, particle effects. The most noticable i've found until you discovered this was definitely dyes. They're all far more muted and grey in the modern renderer. some examples here: People have also noticed and complained that animals no longer seem to properly get special colours for their conditions. Unicorns it is especially noticable on. Even the glow/colouration of adamantine and glimmersteel is barely visible now.

If the slaying was now/this weekend, the amount of people who would be able to do any damage to it among the very large crowd would probably be in the low/mid single digits. Mostly since most don't choose to use huge axes/slow swing speed 2 handers. It'll probably be about another month before it's possible to kill, but even then I'd rather not risk a failed slaying and waste a lot of peoples time. There is no particular rush, so I set it for a time I felt like we could handle it reasonably well.

It was already established in a different thread a while back why this situation exists. Specifically - PvP is expensive and the PvP community (the one the Devs listen to since it contains the most whales) feel they need a way to earn money from PvE. It is essentially a sanctioned monopoly.

Made with Rope, Shaft, Cordage rope = Net trap, cotton. Suggestion: Either make a wemp string for imping, or imp with wemp fibers, or even add in some cotton strings in the crafting process, but really, this makes no sense otherwise. Is this really important to address? No. But it does make the players wonder how the Wurm devs minds work when making up these things. Lets try to address some of these random and completely illogical things within Wurm and see if we can make the saying "Wogic" a thing of the past? Should we use a troll club rather than a mallet for fine carpentry work? That would also be good Wogic.

To be honest, that argument often crossed my mind when I thought about Wurm's weird game design. You can be everything as a crafter, get 90 in every skill except... Everything priest related. If you want to be a priest? Basically it forces you to play 2 accounts. Huh? As for pvp let's be honest for the last decade priests basically turned the tide of combat. The last big spell update a 1-2 years ago pretty much made priests into walking nukes. I still remember fights with 15 non priests vs 5 people (3 of them Fo's or Sme's) and the 5 guys won. Turn the clock a few years more everyone and their uncle were smeagain priests. Before that everyone was a fo. I wouldn't mind if we were allowed to be priests on Pve, as long as we'd have a limited spell set we could train (with a cap) , similar to how a smith in wurm can focus on various subskills : Wep smithing, plate smithing, etc. Priests in Wurm are just extra accounts really. I've never met a single player who mained a priest and did not have any other alts. Basically what I hate about it ? Wanna be a priest? Make an alt and pay more money.
  47. 1 point
What I dislike about priest game play is that the bring classes into classless game. They ruin the concept of Wurm that you can be anything you want if you put your time into. Hate that you cant be both priest and crafter on one character but you have to use alt, and even then spells are rigidly confined to priest type without ability to build your own set of desired spells... If this is my game i would ditch priest concept long time ago, and made religion much more complex skill subset where you would have to grind for specific group of spells just like any other skills

Loading from web (for example, pastebin links) seem to work for me on Firefox, but loading from file is broken on Firefox. All saving options work properly. Loading from file is not working on Firefox due to security reasons - in Chrome loading from file is implemented by clicking invisible "load" button which triggers the loading dialog, while the same action is blocked in Firefox. I will take a look at enabling it on Firefox by adding extra prompt after clicking the "load" button in program.
