Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in with late heartful cheers and congratulations to everyone involved in the Steam release. I'm thoroughly impressed and in awe with what you've achieved both gameplay wise, graphically, with the marketing, new maps and server wrestling and I am very happy to see all you players who are supportive through this. My thoughts also go to Oracle, Tich, Eir and Duce who would have loved to see this happen. As you probably know I'm not active in Wurm development since a couple of years back and this release was done without any involvement on my part so I want to mention that I've asked for my accounts to be removed from forum and other administrative roles for security and clarity reasons. Lastly, I know this release has been a bumpy and sometimes exhausting ride both for the team and players but from what I can tell it's panning out nicely. Player numbers are on the rise which is always what keeps Wurm alive. Being on Steam is a crucial step to that end and probably will be for years to come. It's fascinating to think that back when we released commercially in 2006 I thought Wurm had the potential to survive for decades but I also estimated that we ran the risk of being put out of business if competition would catch up around 2011. Seems the decades estimate is ON mostly thanks to superb team members and all you loyal players With Love!

You, dear reader, have been invited to perform the incredibly rare Knife Dance down at Bruce's Flying Circus, located at N13 on Release. The event will take place at 6pm UTC, please refer to the following timer that is set to the correct time for the kill. As ever, please arrive early and dressed. The winner of the dance will take home the crown (well, bonnet). Also if he drops any tomes or bones or anything, that's up for grabs too. Terms and Conditions apply: Winner of the dance is determined by roll, not any skill or even success at dancing. Your safety is not guaranteed, for best results bring a tent. Your inclusion is not guaranteed, for best results arrive early. Should a sorcery item drop, 1 roll will be conducted per charge, and it will be up to the winners to work out between them how to handle the item. If you win but would like to pass on a roll, please consider passing to the finder of the unique, or the penning team. The time is not to be considered finalised until up to 12 hours before the event, as it may be subject to change. Please take your tents when you leave. Even those of you who left one here last time. Knives are not recommended for fighting a unique, or even fighting in general. If you wind up getting knifed, please consult your local Fo priest. Any number of alts can be brought along, everyone loves potions of mining. Except for Vynora priests. They can't mine. While we're on that topic, how come there's a woodcutting and mining potion but no digging? You may be transformed into a mob against your will while at this event. This is harmless. If transformation persists for over 4 hours, consult your local priest. Batteries sold separately, or not any more really. Edit: I wrongly said O13 when it's N13

We have a large town. Almost 30 members so far and growing. A lot of people will come and go. When a member of our village, regardless where they build, they have all the perms. IF that person leaves, then the rights stays with them. What I am hearing is that we should shove this off deed... While that can "fix" the problem, it is a lot of work. It is VERY difficult to manage a town such as renaming forges and ovens with the current permission. If a village is NOT a democracy, all items that are created by a member should be owned by the mayor or at LEAST have the mayor gain automatic permissions (all of them) WITH the creator. Please add this feature and make life better for all of us! Thank you.

I disagree. When I started, I deliberately sought out a flat piece of land that had been recently disbanded. It's easy enough to destroy pavement and do some landscaping, but flattening out a large enough area as a newb can be daunting. plus, having a guard tower right there was a literal life saver. So, no, some people like the abandoned deeds. Just because you don't, don't assume everyone wants to play the game the same way. That's the beauty of Wurm, you can play how you like.

After each new server is opened, there is a rush where old players spend time in the new lands. After some time, many flow back to old servers. While I can't argue that your concerns are unfounded (I too worry about spreading the player base too thinly), I would say it's far too early to get too worried. Personally, I would like to see a one-way portal from Northern Freedom to Southern Freedom. That way folks who've spent some time in the north and got their bearings can come and settle on the older servers, without damaging the 2 ecosystems.

I know we have come a long long way Rolf, but... I don't know it just feels so sacrilegious to flip the switch on your avatar! *flips switch* I never said I wasn't cruel and evil.... It's good that you are still hanging around though. You are after all a deity here! Cheers Rolf!

I like black, since early childhood I preferred black clothes and currently I wear just black, my phone is black etc., which is practical - I don't need to match the colours etc. So, when I made an account in Wurm the possibility to paint items a real black was one thing that made me to like this game very much and I started my black vehicle & decorations collection. I have put so much money (and these are considerable figures), time and effort into it so this change seriously affects my game play. Recently I posted an auction of a black knarr, and some person posted that this dye was made due to an exploit. I inquired to a person who makes the dyes for me, and he explained it was just dye mixing (which, judging by the description, worked like they work IRL) and everyone, including staff, knew it works like that, yet this possibility was silently removed with the last server restart. Now my collection will be forever incomplete because no one can make a true black dye any more. What is the point of implementing an item or a feature that no one, after all these years can make? And why dyes and colour runes, which require expensive moonmetals and give a chance of getting a desired colour close to 0 (I bought a lot of adamantine and ordered like 40 colour runes and got nothing even close to black, not mentioning the black itself) have such an absurd difficulty to make? They give zero advantage to the game play, no power, no skill gain, nothing besides aesthetics. Why? Please, change it back, the dye was absurdly expensive anyway, but at least it was available. There is no reason to nerf its creation.

I think this is not an exploit and there is a science behind it to prove it. Exploit is something that let you gain advantage in using the system in an unexpected undesigned way. First there were no advantage - only persons I know who sold dark dyes were Zarame and Retrograde, and there are no hundreds of RGB 1 1 1 ships to sail around the Wurm world, and black ship doesn't give any extra speed or skill gain. Black is not a real colour, it is a mixture of colours that cause the resulting solution (a dye) to absorb all or nearby all visible light spectrum. Each substance has the wavelength or wavelengths they absorb with a lot higher efficiency than all others, we call them maximum absorption wavelengths or absorption peaks. Right after absorption there is also emission, part of energy is dissipated (wasted) and the light is a subject to Stokes's shift - the energy of emitted light, that goes to our eyes is lower, therefore wavelength is higher, so if something absorbs blue light you may see it as green, yellow etc. (how big is the shift depends on substance atomic structure or chemical composition if this is a mixture). This is why you need light to see things. However, how much light will be absorbed from a beam going through the substance depends on its molar extinction coefficient (MEC or epsilon), substances with very low MEC absorb (and therefore emits) a small amount of light and their colour is faint. This is why we have shades of colours and more or less intensive colours. And here is the meritum: substances with intensive colours have highest MEC, substances that are pitch black have the highest possible MEC from all the substances that can be seen by an unarmed human eye. Absorbance (the measure of ability to absorb light), like pH, is a logarithm and a function of MEC, concentration, light path and therefore transmittance (ability to pass the light "unharmed") described by the Lambert-Beer law, so you need to add a lot of other colour to destroy the "blackness". The resulting RGB will never be a simple sum or weighted average of the components used. Therefore, the fact that you just need a little perfect black dye to lower the RGB values of another colour for every person who worked with dyes (even in elementary school at art lessons), spectrophotometry or at least has some grasp of basic physics, was expected, correct behaviour. It is a similar thing as the channelling issues - if a lot of people know it, including the development team and it became a part of a game play and the game culture that is complies to the game logic (and the dyes also complies to IRL physics) it cannot be treated like an ordinary bug. I built an important aspect of my game play on this feature (and I am not the only one, there are many other players using their own colour themes), it shouldn't be taken away and at least not in a way it was done. No to mention this is my knarr advertisement that caused it, so I am the one who blame for this. And still my questions remain: 1. What is the point of introducing an item which no one can make even after a very long time? 2. What is the problem with the possibility of players painting their items to the colours they want? Why nerf that? Why colour runes require absurdly high-priced moonmetals, and they fail badly AND are pseudo-random, I got pink 11 times, green like 6 times, purple like 8 times and out of 40 runes I got no black, and even if I got black it would probably fail the attachment. A black wagon gives me no advantage in game and runes that gives the advantage are made from cheap metals and you always know what you will get. By doing such changes in the way described above you put us, players and customers in a very uncomfortable situation, many of us bought the yearly subscriptions, I know extreme cases who bought the subscription for a two or more years, and now we have no idea what other important features that brought us here and makes us enjoy our game will be suddenly considered an "exploit" and drastically nerfed. This makes us frustrated and sad and you surely do not enjoy reading complaints on forums as well.

This will be a rather medium-long sized post, but bear with me. These aren't just "my concerns" but rather a phenomenon I've experienced once and am experiencing it again. I've been a long time Epic player since 2013. I started playing at a time on old Affliction where we used to have around 100-200 active players per Epic server every month. It was a lot of fun till things started going downhill somewhere in 2016, when we started to lose more players every month. And I do mean dozens every month. Not just a handful. At that point my home was on Desertion where I played in a decently sized server wide alliance that had around 100 deeds and about that many unique players. All was good. People were nice. Unique hunts were drama free 99% of the time. We got some ocassional pvp, lost many times but at least we tried. In any case, people started leaving. The reasons are history by now. Neglect, lack of PvP updates, solutions that came too late for problems that were endemic for years. Lack of balancing and so on. The fact that WU's skilling system was imposed on Epic without any thoughtful reasoning was also a factor. That almost normalized and balanced skillgain on Freedom vs Epic within the same timeframes yet.... And as always, most updates were "Freedom centric" while Epic always being a secondary concern, if any concern at all in the first place. When pvp happened in 2016-2017 it was no longer a clash between 30-40 players in local, but more like the same 10 names you've known for years fighting for no other reason than just have something to do. Flash forward to 2017, the Freedom<>Epic skill transfer kicked in and that sealed Epic's fate. Everyone left for freedom based on the same logic. "Why grind on a server like Epic, when no skill will transfer to Freedom?" & "If I gain something on Freedom it's copied to Epic." There's no logical reason to play Epic anymore. Missions are nearly impossible to do due to the abysmal playerbase there. Pvp is dead. Right now there's 2-3 skirmishes....per year. Rifts aren't done. Content is non existent because players are non existent. Point is. Epic is dead. The same symptoms of a dying Epic is what I am now experiencing on Freedom as well. I live on Deliverance with my fellow delians and it's quite dead as well. General chat is roughly dead. Missions rarely get done. I hunt around for hours and only see one or two different names. They're usually the same names. I made this my home after being more or less forced to abandon my old one. WHy do I say forced? Because what were my choices realistically? Wurm Online is a game where 99% of the content is made by players. No players = no content. That's a given. So why would anyone play on a server where there's no new players and new content? I sometimes wander around the starter town to see if any new names pop out. Nothing so far, albeit that might just be random bad luck. I don't see any general "significant" population increase these days. Basically I'm living through this a second time and to be honest, I am not sure I have any faith left into this game at all. All the signs I see right now is that the devs are treating the Southern Freedom Isles just like Epic was treated years ago (and is still treated today). Like the redhead stepchild no one wants to think about more than once a year. For old loyal hardcore freedomers that kept the game alive, this experience of neglect might be something new. For a hardcore veteran like me who had to abandon the home he played on for 5-6 years then establish a new one, only to see it dying out again is something.....well I don't know the word for it. "Dissapointing" doesn't cut it. Some might dismiss these words as simple "doomsday talk" or "Wurm has been dying for years and it's still here" and so forth. You have the right to see things that way. But I can say I have a unique perspective on two servers clusters by now. Now the devs are prioritizing the new Northern Cluster servers and leaving the old freedom to die. At the end I have only 2 questions. 1. Is there any plan to revitalize Old Freedom with players? * I won't even ask about Epic at this point, I see no reason. 2. If the attitude is to always focus on the "new customers", which currently are people started on the Northern Freedom servers while ignoring the Old Freedom, then should any of us Old Vets bother to stick around? Genuine question. Do we even matter? Financially, probably not. Morally though? That's the question. P.S. : And the counter-argument of "Well, just go on the new servers." To that, I'll just reply that I've played for many years and I'd rather not have my 6-7 years of work being nullified just so I can get a "fresh experience". I don't want a fresh experience and I won't even get a new one. I had one. It was fun.

Since I keep the Xanadu map updated, I check Niarja every day for disbanded deeds so I can remove them from the map asap. What I have seen since the Steam launch is that there are many more new deeds than disbanded ones. This suggests that there are more new players coming into the game than old vets leaving the game completely or disbanding their deeds and leaving their toons to move to the new cluster. Also, I've seen higher average population counts on Xanadu this last month than I've seen the last 2 years. Where there used to be very few days where the high pop was over 100, now it seems that there's more days over 100 than not. I've been playing almost 3 years now, and have unfortunately seen too many of these "wurm is dead" type posts, to the point that I don't read discord anymore and have no patience for the toxicity of those type of posts. If you want to play with lots of people in your local, move to where the people are. If you want to stay where you are but want more people in your local then go recruit players to your area. But please, stop with the doom and gloom. These type of posts that claim wurm is dead or dying are nothing more than griefing in my opinion, and generally come from players who didn't get their way on some change made by the devs years ago.

I am a new player and as I already stated, I would pick the old cluster again, I like the history, nice items, abandoned deeds etc. And honestly I don't understand why people pick North.
  12. 4 points
I agree with the general sentiment, but there is one point I have to disagree on. The devs aren't leaving the old servers to die. It is the players like me who are. People are voting with their feet. Hopefully more people will log on or revisit the old servers before they turn into the epic death spiral.

Actually I stopping doing much with black dye after the exploit was found. I worked too hard to get my ns too high and go through too many thousands of acorns grinding botanising to 90 to compete. Please don't throw around baseless accusations
  14. 4 points
I for one dont really mind. But i do mind how the color sticks to items. Before with a 250Rgb white we could have white chain sets. Or white fences. While now 90ql white makes the fence darker than it was before. That needs some work and the shader needs to be set to maybe 150 on the rgb scale and not to complete 255 white. Allowing like before for 70ql black to be black, while now 100ql black is actually dark brown. And white to be white.some people want white boats

I do this. I make alts and I claim deeds. I'm not out to grief anyone and honestly, there is so much unclaimed land, it is crazy. Problem is, people seem to want beach front land and if they don't see some after 5 min of searching, they get disappointed. So there is now a new server launching that is almost all beach. Odd looking for sure, but that solves the problem. On Harmony, I ride around for hours and hours in the interior and see just untouched undeeded lands. Fantastic places to deed. Just not wet. Anyway, I help keep the game rolling with my alts, deeds and silver purchases. Never once have I actively tried to make the game less fun for any other players. Usually just the opposite. I leverage my alts and deeds to help where I can.

make sleep bonus only count down the time used in an action timer and none of the time where an action isnt being used
  17. 3 points
why mix colors into black? why not use the existing black and mix something like charcoal, peat or tar to lower the rgb values, same way you mix copper into any dye to raise the G value
  18. 3 points
why would anyone who is new want to start on a old server cluster that has 10 years worth of windows of opportunity, constant 5 hr sleep hour bonus restarts. I have played on these servers for years, witnessed the shenanigans that go on, the scale and dragon hide farming that went on because RMT (real money trade) was legal. Have played on some top tier accounts that are 70 across the board in charactaristics and skills and have purchased accounts like this when RMT was available. I still went with the new servers. I personally abandoned all of this because what actions I take on the new servers are legit, are earnt, cannot be bought through RMT and is quit simply fresh. Please keep old servers seperate, if u love the wurm experience im sure ull try the new servers moving forwards.

The biggest source of negative reviews appears to be all the people who got themselves banned using the opportunity to crap on wurms parade. And every alt character that holds a deed involves a paid-for deed (and probably a paid premium, at least once), so it's not like people aren't paying for the land they're claiming. Whether someone pays for 1 100x20 deed or 5 20x20 deeds, they're still paying the same amount.

Change: Creatures will now respawn in the areas where there’s few of them, instead of randomly around the map. This will eventually make the creature density around the servers to even out. Bugfix: Fixed issues causing client to silently and randomly disconnect from the server. Bugfix: Creatures should no longer migrate north. Bugfix: Fixed an exploit enabling to drop RGB values of dyes with very small amounts of lower RGB dye.

Nice idea, but difficult. What actions exactly? Climbing comes to mind as something that does not show an action timer, but does effect gains so someone may want it included. Yeah, this. I believe that currently there is no cooldown on turning it off and the re-start cool down of 4 minutes only applies when you manually toggle it off. Assuming that to be true, i.e. that it can be restarted without cooldown after an auto-stop, I reckon 5 minutes is a pretty good interval.

So i glimsed towards my epic portal and saw something that made me think that it would be nice to have some effect on enchanted mailboxes, to show that they are enchanted. Also since my last topic about mailboxes is now on page 7 of suggestions forum or something i will just mention it here again. Please make (1)courier and dark messenger overlap (wichever is highest is used), (2)mailbox enchants dispellable or (3)mailbox enchants improvable by either courier or dark messenger no matter what the enchant on the mailbox is. Now back to the visual effect! Doesnt have to be this glowing orb, but i gotta say, it looked cool!
  24. 2 points
I'm hereby requesting colored orbs as follows: Green orb for Courier. Purple orb for Dark Messenger. Definitely wouldn't mind having #3 added into the game at some point too... Though mainly glowy orb to show enchanted.

I have an alt holding a second deed to reserve the space for future development. I had another alt, with a third deed placed to protect road work. That deed has since come down now that the work is done and a guard tower installed. None of this was done to grief anyone, but I adhere to the "deed it or lose it" policy.

  27. 2 points
Since there is some confusion regarding the details of this change, we would like to provide some clarification: This change only applies to the mixing of different dyes. There has been no change to dye creation, or to improving dye with color ingredients. When mixing different dyes together, the game uses the average of the dye colors (weighted by the amount of each dye) as part of the calculation determining the final product. The specific bug during this process involved how the final value was rounded. Dye color values are only whole numbers, not fractions. Instead of properly rounding the average color when mixing dyes, it would always round down to the next-lowest whole number (so an average red value of 28.999 would become 28). This meant that adding even the smallest possible amount of darker dye would always drop the color values of the dye by at least 1. In other words, you could add a single gram of 1,1,1 dye to an entire huge tub filled with 128,128,128 dye and turn it into 127,127,127 dye. This allowed players starting with a very small amount of 1,1,1 dye to create an infinite amount of 1,1,1 dye by dropping tiny 1g portions of it into other dye repeatedly, then using that new dye to repeat the process. This was not intended. Mixing dyes will now properly round the color values to the nearest whole number. This resolves the exploit described above as well as making the dye-mixing calculations more accurate in general.

While people do sell deeds from time to time, my experience has been that deeds generally sell for less than they cost to plant and build. I've not seen a market in claiming land especially to sell, mainly because there always seems to be other options if the spot you looked at first wasn't available. Also, rather like Lego, the fun of Wurm (in my opinion) is the building and the journey, rather than the finished destination - one of the key reasons so many vets have flocked to the new servers is the chance to build everything all over again, because that's the fun part. Jackal showed a very similar trend, in that regard. People griefing does happen, but it's the exception rather than the norm. To the OP, using a second character to plant a deed is not, in and of itself, griefing; griefing may involve planting a deed, but that's specific to the situation, and irrellevant to which character was used to plant the deed.

does it suddenly turn to grey at 2-2-2 or something? you can easily make 5 to 10 black dye in bulk at 90+ nat subs, especially if you're making 1-1-1 the legit way you'll make lots of 2-10 in the process is people exploiting/using fun tricks/whatever you wanna call it to make lots of 1-1-1 dye not messing up the economy by devaluing 1-1-1 dye to the point that you paint entire ships with it?

Don't know how many are around to say this, but my account has always been mine. I haven't even bought a priest/alt account in all my years. For me my account is something personal and 100% earned. Not bashing other account buyers, but in my case and a few others for us it's more than a simple issue of $. It's what we have right now after years of playing. I understand RMT is now forbidden - although from what I hear it's still thriving under the radar, but that's impossible to police - and as such it would be fatal to merge the servers now. However where does that leave the rest of us who Do Not have the time to start over again (for various reasons, jobs, family, etc.) ? The are few things as off putting to wanting to play a game, than logging in, seeing no one and thinking to yourself "I got better things to do."

Also as a dye system explanation. Dye is based on rgb value from 0 to 255. As 1 being black to 255 being white. With the 100ql cap of ql in wurm. 1 to 100 rgb is considered black. While 155 to 255 is considered white or colors. Mixing material into dye works as this formula 155+mats ql- dye weight So 1ql chochineals mixed into 1.1.1 black on a 45kg ammount will make it at best R110 G1 B1 at best. Higher ql resources will make it go up using the above formula. That gives you control over rgb you want to create. Will use loads of mats to make a huge ammount of yelow for example. While it can be done from 50ql green. It will use about 200 chochineals to reach the yelow color. With the trick being removed using black as a base to make some darker colors is very dificult. As if you need a 50ql black base is not easy to get. Done loads of dye over the years. Since i made dye ingame from the second year of gameplay, meaning around 9 years. Now you guys know how its made Needs resources of ql range from 1 to 100. Meaning a high mining skill for iron, coper and zinc. gardening for woad, butchering skill and most likelly imbued and runed knife for chochineala, also forestry for the acorns. In top of that you will need a high ns to get decent colors out.

It's easy to say this after selling your account and not active playing on south freedom, like every vocal player on this forum that have so much against older cluster

Heh, almost forgot how freedomers are focused on cash. Closing transfer between Chaos and freedom is to prevent one way item sink, where items go to freedom safety, to never be retrieved.

Wow, this change is terrible. Customization using wood types and dye options is something that sets Wurm aside from a lot of other games that try to offer similar. Please let us continue personalizing our items. Don't penalize the population as a whole because of the behaviors of a few individuals, give us an alternative that is reasonable, if there is truley an exploit involved.

Unfortunately the Freedom>Epic skill favoritism only depopulated Epic in the long run. In a game where "skill" matters, the moment you say "you can gain skill here and it transfers there, but not the other way around" is the moment where you depopulate a server. This shouldn't even be a debate. It happened. Any form of "uni-directional skill transfer" will only serve to depopulate - the already empty - old Freedom Cluster. Southern Isles. This has already taken place. Epic is a case study in itself. It was already dying out before that skill transfer - as Freedom was/is already dying out - and the skill transfer was simply the last nail in the coffin. Why do we want to repeat history again? There is NO future for Epic. Played there since 2012-2013. For the past 3 years Epic has been dead. There has been NO revival. No influx of players. No concerted effort from the devs to save it. Random updates, a new elevation map and that's it. It should serve, if anything at what NOT TO DO when it comes to making new decisions for wurm. Make no mistake about it, the symptoms of a dying Southern Isles are exactly the same as they were on Epic years ago. I know. I've lived through all of it, and it wasn't just me. Player A joins new server. Player A doesn't see other players around for guidance or questions. Player A plays a bit, then quits. This happens 90% of the time. Why can't people understand that in an MMO whose game design is "ALL content is Player Driven content", it means that when you have few players = no new content = no new players. No interactions. Nada. There aren't any quest NPCs so you can do your own solo questing. No other forms of meaningful content other than what other players offer. Unless there is a big decision from the devs to save the Southern Isles, then sorry to say this, but old Freedom is Epic 2.0. It's happening at a slower pace, but within the same parameters. A skill transfer won't save southern isles. It will kill it faster.

Painting is a really nice feature, applyed to a lot of different cloth items, but why not on Meditation rugs/carpets? That would bring much more variety to the Wurm fashion week!

Privacy complains in wurm? what? You join a village to live and work together as one you want privacy you make your own deeds that simple this suggestion has been brought up so many times over the years by so many people in so many places and the most we have ever heard of it is "we will look into it" with nothing else ever again I as the mayor should automatically have perms on everything that is build or secured on my deed after all end of the day the mayor owns the deed now i could see an option of "transfer ownership upon citizen no longer being part of x village" being a requirement for it to transfer but even if its say for the sake of making the deed bigger the mayor toon needs manage on all buildings on deed or else they cant make changes to the deed size so mayors should have manage roles on all houses by default and other item perms should have the mayor added upon villager leaving village That way there are no stuck carts no secured unmovable forges and ovens and so on left on villages this is especially useful on new servers where people come and go faster then freshly baked muffins on a monday morning after a 3 day weekend

I'd appreciate if you would refrain from accusing contracted members of the dev team of abusing exploits to get a bit of dye - it's absurd and really does not lend itself to a civil conversation. A lot can change in a year, and while Retrograde may have been unsure if it's an exploit when talking about it a year ago, we have deemed it one now and fixed it. Exploit fixes often do not end up in patch notes, due to their sensitive nature, but we always look at it case by case and we've added it as a patch note now as we've not expected this to be such a widespread issue - it's our fault for not fixing this earlier, but we'll always act on obvious exploits that pop up, no matter how long they have been a thing in the game. There will not be prior announcements of exploit fixes either, for reasons I think everyone can understand.

Thank you so much for this amazing game. If you could add ONE thing into Wurm as a final hurrah, what would it be? Cheers / Skål

You made a good game Rolf should be proud! Also could you pls use some of the steam money to hire 2-3 paid devs to work on making the combat system a bit more dynamic both animation and player involvement wise? Oh then make Retro beta test it and keep tweaking it untill he caves and says: yes is good even at 300 ping i like the feel and the flow of it put it in just stahp making me test this:)

i wouldn't do another server at this point, certainly not a 16x16 one, i could understand another 8x8, but 16x16 is kinda uncalled for Don't forget there's gonna be a huge wave of disbanding in somewhere between 10 days and 3 months
