Apparently the ground repeatedly shook with violent tremors and the wind seemed to whisper the words "unfair", "balance" and "coffee". As a result some of the lands seem to have shifted. Beautiful job on those maps Saroman, as always! ❤️ I'm eyeballing Harmony and there are so many potentially pretty spots to go for! I dunno what I'm gonna do!! I think I'll just have to whip together a rowboat, set sail and see what what's out there. So hyped to live the newbie life after all these years! It'll be so interesting to see how it feels to start fresh now with the knowledge I've accumulated over the years. I can imagine many of you feel the same!

This will likely be some time before the launch, but until we specify it here, assume it's not safe to start a character. We'll make sure we post a notice once you can create a character that'll be able to go to the new servers.

There will be a tutorial on Golden Valley, and there'll be NPCs to set your starting faith on Harmony.

Any old characters already on GV will not be able to access the new servers (this doesn't change from how things work now). The ridiculous merchants at the new Harmony spawns have been told to pack up their huge stock and get out of town; they were confirmed to have sailed away to unknown destinations this morning.

Because we ran out of coffee before we could get them implemented. Unfortunately, due to coffee plants not getting implemented, we're unable to grow more coffee, so that we can implement coffee plants. We've put in a request for server hamster time to send them out foraging for more, but Keenan says we won't be able to get any time until the next server wheel regreasing.

As a new player who has zero minutes played, OP is exactly the reason I wont be deterred. The attitude is poor and I know it doesn't reflect the rest of those who are veterans and those who are new and know what launch days are really like in a MMO.

Seems there are a lot of people wanting to know when tomorrow this can be done please? Do they have to wait until the hour of server launch? When is it safe to prepare a character?

I had a great time out there in Pristine! I won a fully decked out archeology Knarr, a massive leap in my waterbound storage, and a whole bunch of equipment loaded up and upgraded. I also managed to make a Rare Silver short sword during using the silver that Fighter managed to mine, and a set of silver Chain armor as well. After gettting all of it improved into the 70's, and fully enchanted, I got a bit overzealous and ripped through many a monster while with it... I also managed to get the coveted Golden Eye off the god's visitations, I think I will keep it on me... I didn't get any titles while I was there, while but I got my Fighting boosted by over a dozen levels from the hunting, and I got my Carpenter title within the hour after I arrived back home! I have dubbed the sword "Friendship's Might", as a reminder of the hectic fun I had in my first Impalong, Thank you again for organizing all of this, and hope to see you next year!

This is a game that on average has about 400-500 people logged in at any given time, split into a multitude of servers. They just opened the spigot for the first time into the steam playerbase and looks like they are getting more people than they can handle or were expecting. That's a good thing. Be patient. The game itself is worth it, and us vets could use the new people. Given the small, mostly volunteer team of devs this game has, cutting them some slack wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. We are on the 3rd hour after steam launch. Anyone who expected a smooth release is delusional.

Now we have to delay launch just to change the location and names of the starter towns!

Its a well known fact that Wurm god's operate on coffee. But it is still unknown why there isn't coffee beans/plants in any of Wurm lands ...

Just curious but wouldn't it be nice to get 10 hours of sleep bonus to go along with the skill gain boost and affinity chance?

So update on the pvp map, we regenerated the map with a bigger southern middle island for BL this did not change the rest of the map except for the placement of tiles like sand/steppe.

They should make it a month, what about people on shift work right now... Actually scratch that, what about workers on a rig off the coast...hmm. I guess they need to make it at least 1 year of bonus to be fair... You know what, come to think if it, I guess it'll never be fair for everyone...

To all the negative comments. Have you all never been a part of a launch day for any mmo? They are always bad for ones that grow in popularity leading up to their launch. Blizzard has it happen every launch day for a new expansion and they are a multi-million dollar company. Give it a little bit, they will resolve the issues and I am sure they are working endlessly to resolve them.

Because it sucks to have your deed deleted in the middle of the night Because it sucks to chase someone, almost catch them, and have them run into a one-tile mine with a 90ql mine door. Because it sucks to have hellhorses (and 31 BC as a result) be a pvp requirement. Because it sucks to have one big fight and not be able to play the game for a month while you wait for your horses to restock. (This one would have never been an issue if pvp servers weren't subject to animal caps caused by freedom animal hoarders)

Oh it was a beautiful impalong - lovely people and incredible deed! Not to mention how fabulous the games /events were - complete with charming hosts and staff (including myself?) Enjoy some pictures and commentary below - in case you missed it . . or even if you were there and want to relive memories Devoted priests, ever muttering sermons or begging for more favor: The massive Arena and the scene of so much bloodshed and death (aka impalong success) and just when you thought it was peaceful and pretty - ENKI would show up looking like the Grim Reaper: the Madness. . . But afterwards .. . you could escape with your pals and enjoy some more views and SO. MUCH. ALCOHOL on the roof of the inn cozy chats And if you got tired of that . . . you could take part in our crazy games! Rare prizes galore for the winners! Wurm Darts for instance . ... where suicidal lunatics throw themselves off to see if they will die. . . . who will brave THE TOWER ? Virusmd picks his victims Okay im dizzy just looking up And sometimes they fell right side up in Hero's pose And sometimes ... upside down and flailing and SOMETIMES even slid. .. .. BUT i assure you. .. they ALL went SMACK at the bottom! AND oh we can't forget what makes the annual Friend-A-Long truly unique ,. . .the Fish-SLapping duels!!! We usually start out tame. .. and then the fish gradually get Bigger . . and BIGGER . .. and More Ferocious and Ridiculous. .. Until everyone is completely drunk and we descend into Utter Madness like this It really was a blast and we hope you join us again next year ❤️

On a more positive note, the event went pretty dang well, a few snags with broken permissions on wagons for the event but hopefully this bug will get resolved by the devs in time for next years event. Another slight hangup on the inital hatching of the dragon egg, I had precisely .01 damage to little on it..... Go figures #wogic. Othen then that im quite happy with how things went. Even with the schedule change due to steam we had a very good turnout, with local counts over 100 at some points. It would seem that the "thinning of the herd" with the gods made a big difference in the level of casters this year, there were WAY less shatters, and a ton of super powerful over 100 casts, I felt like i was seeing them in local every 20 minutes or so! Side bonus of this was that alot less favor was used this year for a comperable amount of casts. Wish i had know how awesome the priests would have been ahead of time, i wouldent have had to speed grow and chop another 200k veggies after the nerf! Based on my screen caps and OCR scans id say we did about 2600 imps in the first 4 days, and nearly 4000 casts on log. All in all id say we had a slightly better turnout then last year! Some crazy fun was had, we gave away a ton of stuff including another custom made to order 90q Drake Suit with damage runes. Also thank you to the various streamers that showed up to showcase the Event, I think pretty much every major wurm streamer stopped by to take a peak at things. Particular thanks to Sirene for improvising streaming sessions to capture the failed then successful dragon hatching Ill follow up some more later with more screenshots etc, but for now my brain needs some time to congeal back into a solid form. As a developer myself I am entirely understanding, and the negative reviews just make me sad. I left a positive review personally as soon as the client launched and I am not changing it. That said, what some here are weirdly failing to understand is that the sandbox experience is not like the themepark mmo experience. It is not a big deal to lose out on logging into the Elder Scrolls on day 1. It is a huge deal to miss the opening of a sandbox world, both substantially and, just as importantly, psychologically. A lot of us have been looking forward to precisely the experience of being the first in a new world, and while you may scoff at how significant it will be in the long run, that it what some of us were hoping to get out of the evening and it is starting to look like it won't happen to any extent.

I doubt the people who rage quit at launch of an MMO, which are always frought with issues, would stick around with Wurm too long anyway.

Have faith, that happened for me for a while. With patience, you too can get the null error again.

Stuff like this is the reason why the pvp server was originally planned to release a bit later, there is just so much more to consider for it and being such a small team it can be hard to catch every issue.

I think you can create a sickle pretty easy but finding a pelt might be really difficult.

As a user - I am annoyed - I paid for a game and I can't play, but I worked in IT for 25 years and I know how it is. They didn't break the service deliberately, and we got the cookie - we all will have a huge skill and affinity gain bonus.

The steam accounts use your Steam ID to identify you, so you don't need a password. To create an account via steam simply choose a name and click play.

I'm getting this error code when attempting to launch after installing. "Failed to get update information" "error code 7" EDIT: Anyone else getting this? I tried a fresh reinstall too.

If you went through the character creation process but did not complete the confirmation, then the name will be reserved for 48h. Furthermore, that name is added to the old database and will not be available to you when you try to create your new character for the new servers later today. You will have to wait for the 48h to pass before making that character on the new servers.

If that is the case there better be a dam portal to travel between the 2 deeds that can be used once or twice so that friends can meet up incase they click the wrong portal without having to suicide or travel for ages Like legit this has to be a thing please @Samool

If you want to share accounts, which we don't recommend although we still allow it for sharing with up to 2 other people, your best bet is to use our standalone launcher and register regular Wurm Online accounts.

There are 2 starter deeds on Harmony, one in the North and one in the South.

I would hold off another couple hours until they give the "it's safe now" signal. It's unclear whether characters created before they give the all-clear, will end up in the database correctly to enter the new servers. A few warned it could potentially backfire on people trying to save names in advance by going through registration, but waiting to log in. Server will officially open in about four hours but there were hints we might be able to create characters before then, and possibly even log into the Golden Valley login zone. It's unclear whether there is going to be an actual, real tutorial anymore or if we are right back to the awful Village With 10,000 Signs (which would frankly disappoint me so very very much -- a one time chance for a great first impression and -- after all that wonderful work on Haven -- we go right back to what didn't work in the past.) Hopefully there will be a new Haven style tutorial, permanently located on GV. Who know, maybe they will knock my socks off for a second time If there is a new Haven style tutorial, it might be a fairly decent place to chill out, adjust your looks with a silver mirror, wait for friends etc before going through portals to the various servers.

Another youtuber that I've watched several times before, Ser Medieval, has released a Wurm Online video. Seems he will be playing the game on the new PvP server!

If you're using a computer that was obsolete in 2012, maybe. Meanwhile, I can build massive structures with maxed settings in Conan and Atlas and average much higher framerates than I can in Wurm. As much as I love the game, it runs like absolute dogshit.

HOTS starts on the bigger island north of the smaller one, with the extended tower chain range it does reach the land north west by them, we are considering spawning in an additional island to make the gap to the west smaller to those lands tho.
